The cheese stop was a little disappointing (only 3 cheeses and one a normal cheddar), but on the whole very good.Written 11 December 2024
- Fearless018559653720 contributionsHonest experienceThe trip was quality with the special Yarra Valley Chardonnay and Pinot noirs. They are generous and have a diverse range with their wines. The spot for food is amazing being very filling (tip for 2 people the pizza is plenty and will keep you full for the duration of the trip. Yarra valley chocolate was too smooth and a must buy. Finally, the Four Pillars Gin was a great smooth gin. Each gin and tonic was special and different. Honestly, if you are looking too see the Yarra Valley in its fullest this trip does it to perfection.Written 8 December 2024

We took the trip on Thursday 23rd January with our wonderful, exciting and funny host Giovanni.
She set the tone of the trip from the moment she meet us all on a damp morning, by being honest and explaining all the details of the tour and the in particular about her background and passion for wine and the cellar doors that we would be visiting during the day.
The journey to yarra Valley was filled with laughter and information as she handed the mic around to everybody on board the bus to say a little bit about themselves and where they were from in terms of country and their hopes and wishes for the day!
This was a great icebreaker and from that moment everybody got to know each other a little better.
The first place we stopped at was the Yarra Valley Dairy where we had the chance to enjoy five different cheeses and crackers and to purchase some coffee and bits and pieces for the day.
The next stop was the first of three vineries where we went to the Colinari home and met the wonderful Vincent And his wife, the passion and knowledge they shared about wines was extraordinary.
Next stop was for lunch and wine tasting at the the fabulous cellar door called steel mills where we again tasted some lovely wines and were served a fabulous lunch, which in my opinion was equivalent to a five star restaurant!
We spent nearly 2 hours at this restaurant lucky enough the sun come out, which added to our enjoyment and we were able to obtain some lovely photos.
After all this we went to the Yarra valley chocolate factory which was a fantastic place to spend some time and enjoy something sweet and a nice ice cream. We then went for the last wine tasting and met a fantastic host called John who again shared his love and passion for the art of wine making and tasting.
The trip was finished with a visit to a local brewery on the way back to Melbourne, which again was a great way to taste a paddle of local brewed beers.
The day was filled with fun and laughter and host Giovanni was amazing, caring and ensured that no request was ever met without a smile and an answer that was always filled with knowledge and passion for her company, the day and her experience of life to date.

After rescheduling countless times last year we finally joined a tour, it was such a great day and worth the wait - we 100% recommend booking a tour if you ever want to visit the Yarra valley! 🙌 (there are public or private options and best of all there’s no need to worry about choosing a designated driver if you organise your own tour around the Yarra Valley 😋) overall it was a well organised and entertaining day.
Dancing Kangaroo were also more than accommodating and booking is seamless - thanks so much Sean & Selina especially for your help in arranging a personalised pick up spot for us!
The standard pick up location is from Flinders Street, Melbourne at 8:45am and you’ll return to the city around 5:30pm
There were 17 off us on the tour and everyone was so lovely and the company really made the day even better, it felt as though we were on a holiday at one stage as we spoke to different people from other states and countries (tourism is making a comeback)
Sean our tour guide was so much fun, passionate and really informative - you will enjoy learning about the region, wine and plenty of laughs are guaranteed!
We visited 3 wineries, the yarra valley chocolaterie and a brewery!
At each winery we enjoyed tastings and an informative guide on each wine, the location and history of each estate.
We absolutely loved every minute of the tour and we are definitely considering organising a private tour with friends and will continue to spread the word on how great the tour was ❤️

What a great day we had on this wine tour. From the moment we met ‘G’ at the pick up point we knew it would be a good day as her energy and enthusiasm would get the most lethargic groups up and going. After the short ride to the Yarra Valley where her Italian driving skills were put on show we had some nice cheese tasting and of course cheese purchases. The three wineries all came with their own little bit of charm and the lunch was excellent! This was topped off by a very expensive stop at a chocolate factory and then finally a paddle of beer and ciders. A must do if your in Melbourne and one you won’t be disappointed!

Very well organized tour. They use a comfortable bass with panoramic windows. I recommend buying wine from Corniola winery, if you'll like one, as it would be hard to get one later on. They carry very boutique tasting wines.

What a fabulous day! A lovely day tour of the Yarra Valley visiting and learning more about Australian wines with a lovely lunch and wine included. Some beautiful scenery and tour commentary by host and tour guide Sean. We had 16 people in the group from all over the world - great company and conversation. Tour was on time for pick up in central Melbourne and returned the same. Great value for money and would highly recommend the tour and experience for everyone who wants to see something outside of the Melbourne city area, meet new people and taste some wines, ciders, beers and topped off by ice cream and chocolate!!

We enjoyed every moment of this tour. The host, Selina, was thoughtful, witty and passionate about the Yarra Valley and Melbourne. We love the fact it included tastings at 3 top notch wineries, a 2 course lunch with a glass of wine, a brewery tasting paddle and visit to a choc ice-cream factory - all in all it was great value! We love the bus as well, it was the most comfortable vehicle I've been since touring Melbourne so this is a bonus. We'd highly recommend this experience for anybody who like a full experience of the Yarra Valley that's all inclusive and fun.

This has probably been one of the best tours I've ever gone on simply because our tour guide - Sean - was really entertaining and had a really good knowledge of the Yarra Valley. There were a lot of laughs on the tour which made for an entertaining day.
The tour itself was really well planned out and covered a good range of different wineries. I also loved how it included a stop at the Yarra Valley dairy, chocolaterie and one stop to enjoy a glass of beer/cider, so definitely something for everyone. Really great value. Thank you so much for an amazing day out, will most definitely recommend Dancing Kangaroos to friends and family :D

Giovanna was the best. We loved the tour. Visiting the dairy for cheese tasting which accommodated our cows milk allergy was much appreciated. 3 vineyards, craft beer and cider tastings was enjoyed tremendously. Lunch at the 2nd vineyard was delicious. Our final stop for chocolate and gelato was perfect way to end the day. Please note the gelato is not included in the tour but worth the additional cost. What a great way to spend the day and see the beautiful Yarra Valley.

It was a wonderful tour of the Yarra Valley and Sean was an amazing host.
I highly recommend this tour because it covers a wide selection of experiences. The itinerary covered 3 beautiful wineries - our favourite was Soumah which provided a delicious lunch too. To top it off we also visited a popular chocolate ice cream factory and brewery pub. Overall this is great value and a great way to enjoy the Yarra Valley hassle-free.

Is there only one designated bus for the day? If my friends and I want to make seperate booking does that mean we’ll still all be together?
Written 4 May 2023
When I went, everyone who had booked for the day was on the same bus. I believe it's a small tour company, so I think it's a safe bet that you and your friends will be on the same bus.

I'd agree with Madison. There were no children on our excursion and there is little that they would find of interest. :)

Apart from Mandala and St Huberts, I can't tell you off the top of my head, I am in Ireland t the moment, They are all worth tasting. I was there recently, don't feel obliged to buy the wine unless you like it, it's a commercial proposition.
