About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- peter130320170 contributionsWow, what a day, it could not have been more beautifulWe had a great all-day photo tour with Andrew in Sydney and the surrounding area. Andrew showed us many spots where we could admire the fascinating skyline of Sydney. We also went on a short walk with him (Hermitage Foreshore Walk), with great views and beaches. He gave us as much time as we wanted at each stop to take our photos. We were very impressed by the cliff section near Bondi Beach. We made lots of stops and every stop was a unique experience that we will always remember. He gave us also a lot of information when we had a stop. Thank you very much for a wonderful day. We can recommend Andrew 100%.Written 24 May 2024
- Randee W0 contributionsAmazing introduction to SydneyAndrew is a great tour guide. He is knowledgeable and friendly. Great introduction to Sydney. We saw so many cool places, that are usually not included in typical toursWritten 15 March 2024
- janehansen20 contributionsHiking in the Blue MountainsKerima-Gae showed us an insider's perspective of the Blue Mountains away from the crowds. She was such a lovely lady and we all thoroughly enjoyed her company on our private day trip from Sydney.Written 3 February 2023

- caw10220 contributionsPrivate Tour in a Transit Van?We were ending a cruise in Sydney and wanted to see as much of the city as possible during our time there. We booked this tour with DM Concierge for a full day private tour for 4 people to be picked up at our hotel. We received confirmation from David that a driver had been assigned to us and his name and contact information was shared with us. The day before we arrived, we needed to change the pick up to the cruise terminal and David assured us that would be no problem. The morning we arrived, I texted both David and the Hussan, our driver, to confirm the terminal we were arriving at and the time to be picked up. Shortly before we were to be picked up I found out that David had provided the wrong contact number for Hussan so he did not receive my text. David provided the correct phone number and I texted Hussan when he had not shown up when scheduled. He called me and told me that he was told to go to the other port and it would take him about 20 minutes to get to our location. When Hussan arrived, he was in an airport transit van. Although very nice, Hussan was not a guide - he was a driver. Although he had lived at in Sydney for many years, he was not knowledgeable about the culture or history. Most of the time was spent driving around but not really any discussion about what we were seeing. We paid a lot of money for this tour and were expecting a sedan or an SUV - not a dirty airport shuttle for 12 people. Hussan told us that his boss was told we needed a vehicle that would seat a minimum of 7 people. I rechecked my booking and it definitely stated 4 people. He apologized and let his boss know about the issues. The shuttle was uncomfortable and one of our group had to be dropped off at the hotel halfway through the tour because his back was hurting badly from the rough ride. I texted our concerns to David and he did nothing to help resolve the situation. The all day tour started at 10:00 am and we were back at our hotel at 4:30 pm - not exactly the 8 hours we were expecting. I asked David what he could do to resolve our concerns and he asked me to contact Trip Advisor and see if they would make a price adjustment. I have not found a way to speak to anyone at Trip Advisor. We were very disappointed and would not recommend this service.Written 30 January 2023
- ads2980 contributionsAmazing Experience with a LocalAbsolutely fantastic day with Jasmine. We reached out to David very last minute for a private tour of the Mornington Peninsula. He was able to secure our trip with Jasmine very quickly and less than 24 hours later we were picked up promptly at our hotel. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We went wine tasting, walking through art installations, rode the cable car, hiked on the beach, and went to the hot springs! We were able to see so much in one day and absolutely loved having Jasmine as our guide. She was friendly, fun, and knew just where to take us! We are very grateful to have met her. If you are thinking about a private tour, don’t hesitate! One of the best decisions we made on our trip.Written 10 January 2023
- johnsimpson00 contributionsSydney Aboriginal ExperienceWe had a fantastic (and unexpected) tour with DM Concierge as all that we mentioned was that we liked culture and history to David in the initial emails. What we experienced was so much more than anything we could have imagined by heading to La Perouse for an immersive Aboriginal tour. John our guide, then took us back via Coogee for delicious cocktails and lunch before walking along the coast for about 20 minutes. This was definitely not the average tour of Sydney and that's what we loved about it.Written 10 March 2020
- D6576SQheatherm0 contributionsPrivate Full Day Sydney TourWow, Peter was awesome! We were picked up promptly at the cruise terminal, saw all of the major sights as well as some hidden gems. Loved the city and Peter's pace/style.Written 8 March 2020
- 762joanj0 contributionsGreat day despite the rain !Made all arrangements out of country and everything except weather worked like a charm. Pickup was at my hotel, on time with a lovely vehicle and great driver/ guide. Jarred took us to areas that of course every tourist ask for but also some out of the way places. He was a accommodating to all our wishes and stops along the way we had great day despite the downpours Jared was a true ambassador of Sydney !Written 4 March 2020
- peterferriss0 contributionsJared is the MANBrilliant afternoon with Jared on our 4 hour private tour of Sydney. Comfy vehicle, loved Watson's Bay and the views but mostly Jared for how comfortable he made us all feel. We'll be back!Written 28 February 2020
- Joe E0 contributionsFull Day Tour with the BestWe booked the 8 hour private tour instead of an excursion offered by the cruise line. We wanted to be able to see sights that had been highly recommended by previous travelers to Melbourne. Ian was our guide who proved to be gregarious and very knowledgeable. We shared with Ian what sights we wanted to see and he suggested some additional places to visit. All of the sights were splendid and worth the time. The one drawback was communication about the tour specifics did not occur until after we boarded the cruise ship. With the ship’s Wi-Fi not working until day 2 and no cell phone service, we were in the dark until the night before the tour. This was a delightful experience, and we do recommend this company!Written 27 February 2020
- D8365UJmichellem0 contributionsThree hour customized tour of SydneyNeeded to burn three or four hours between plane and cruise ship. I contacted David and he set up a custom tour and tour guide for just my wife and me. Excellent value for the (American) dollar.Written 5 February 2020
- samtorre750 contributionsStunning SydneyWOW! We were blown away on our first visit to Sydney and David really came through with the goods. He organised the bridge climb, an Aboriginal experience, personally took us on a food tour and arranged a surf lesson with his friend. In between, David was there to take us through Sydney and explain the different neighbourhoods. David is an absolute natural and we felt at such ease with him the whole time over the 2 days.Written 26 June 2019
- vinceAtlanta0 contributionsFull day 8 hour tour in SydneyWe did the Full day 8 hour tour in Sydney with Kerima-Gae and she was awesome. It was a private tour for me and my wife. It was very comprehensive, not only we explore the suburbs, the coves, the beaches and the Olympic Village, but we had a delightful meal at Doyle’s and she even prepared tea for us. Great, very comprehensive experience.Written 29 May 2019
- pedrojim8180 contributionsBest of SydneyDavid suggested we take the seaplane to Jonah's for lunch which was the highlight of the day by far. Prior to that, his driver Ron took us through Bondi and Watsons bay in his spacious Mercedes. When we returned from the seaplane, Ron was there again waiting to take us back to our private boat charter from Barangaroo. The whole experience was seamless and worth the extra cost of doing it privately.Written 28 May 2019

We came to Melbourne during the Australian Open Tennis back in January and spent 2 days with Steve - one on the ocean road and the second on a city tour. David was a pleasure to deal with over email leading up to, during and even followed up by meeting us at the hotel for some cocktails to thank us in person. Thank you Steve and David for making our family vacation such a joy

My wife and I went on a half day VIP Penguin parade and a full day great ocean road tour with Loanie. David was sick so he had Loanie donthe tour instead. David was excellent with replying to all my questions through text. He helped me navigate the tour booking itself (we had to use our credit card points ) and also gave me plenty of information about options at the penguin parade etc. He was very prompt in replying to my queries. Even though we couldn’t meet him in person, it was as though we knew him. I would highly recommend David at DM concierge for any trip planning and tours in Melbourne or Sydney.
Now about our tour guide Loanie - She was the absolute best !! She has a passion for being a tour guide that is unprecedented. Her penchant for traveling the world was intoxicating to hear. Very well versed in all the intricacies and the history of various sights that she took is to. We are both vegetarians and both David and Loanie made sure that we had plenty of options wherever we went. Words cannot express the amount of enthusiasm that Loanie had to tell us all the stories and tidbits. We got to know her very well during the two days. We would strongly recommend Loanie as your tour guide if you choose DM concierge. I would ask David to assign her while booking the tour itself.
Bottom line is, you cannot go wrong with David and Loanie. Just talk to them before you book your tour and state all your likes and dislikes and they will take care of you like you are their family.
I wish Loanie only the best in her future endeavors and hope to run into her in Colombia someday 😜😜

We had private tours in comfortable and clean automobiles in both cities. Both guides did a great job of giving us history and explaining what we were visiting and driving by. David did a wonderful job of customizing both tours to our desires and booking appropriate lunches for us. Thank you!

Can't say enough good about this day with Maja; we had briefed her beforehand (no shopping, not too much touristy stuff) so she knew we were looking for a unique experience while on our cruise ship stop in Melbourne. After a coffee stop, we headed to Mornington Peninsula to see some of the beautiful seaside towns along this route, including a stop in one very quaint little town for just a little bit of shopping and some walking, plus a stop to walk along a beautiful long pier and watched some squid fisherman & scuba diving classes! The landscape was gorgeous, Maja had a lot of info to impart which made us feel like we were learning something as well.....our lunch at The Rocks was a perfect place to catch our breath, and on the way back into the city we were able to stop to see the famous "beach boxes" (small cabanas that have been around for about 100 years!) and get more history as we re-entered the city. Maja was incredibly good (she even made an emergency stop for me at a chemist shop so I could buy more hair products!) and a delight to spend the day with. Very professional, very warm and friendly, and very knowledgeable about any questions we had. Highly recommend!!!!!

We found Dave on Trip Advisor and from the time we booked our full day tour with him, we were interacting via email. Dave asked what we wanted to do and we told him that we wanted to see Kangaroo, koalas, Melbourne and a winery. Our time was limited as we were on a ship and we just couldn't do all that we wanted to do. Turns out that it was the week of the Australian Tennis Open in Melbourne and David was the most excellent host. From the time he pulled up in his air conditioned Mercedes touring van, we felt as if he was our family. He stayed with us on our short visit to Healesville Sanctuary and arranged wine tasting and a beautiful lunch at Yering Station Winery. He had surprises for us as he took us to the pub in Melbourne dedicated to George Costanza from Seinfeld and the best ice cream ever! David got us back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. "No Worries Dave". You're the BEST!

Together with my elderly mother and teenage daughter, we had an informative and fun tour of Melbourne. Our guide was Jasmine and she was fantastic. A superb driver, flexible waiting for us as we stopped off at an enticing cake shop walking Acland St and so interesting with her local knowledge. It was a great day for all three of us, even in the rain! Thank you Jasmine.

I recruited two more couples via Cruise Critic Roll Call and had a wonderful 8 hour private tour driving along the Great Ocean Road. Our guide, Neil, met us on the pier in a van stacked with water bottles and local “snacks” we sampled on our drive. He was very informative and responded to all our questions.
My emails to David at DM Concierge were so accommodating as I was able to “choose” our preferences for the tour. We got so much more than what a 40 passenger bus tour that our cruise shore excursion had to offer.

Since it’s a private tour in a car or a van, you should be fine. Just make sure you let the tour guide know ahead of time about anything you need to do.

My wife and I are arriving on Sunday am around 7:30 from Los Angeles and want to schedule a 4-hour tour. I'm not sure how long it will take us to get out of the airport (we are staying at the
Docklands Melbourne Sheraton). Is the half-day city tour doable around these times? Thanks
Written 7 June 2018
In January we flew from LA to Auckland then to Melbourne...took forever to get through customs....airport was very understaffed and very chaotic. It would be risky to try to take a 4 hour tour.
