You’ll look at Street Art differently
Our guide Ben provided an education on Street Art techniques, a framework for understanding Street Art culture, and artistic insight. The pieces he introduced to us ranged from large murals to small installations on window ledges. So many treasures I know I would have otherwise overlooked! Our tour ended at Blender Studios where we were warmly and graciously welcomed and treated to both a tour of the studios and yummy drinks and snacks. The entire afternoon was enlightening and inspiring.

Awesome experience! Must do when in Melbourne
Awesome experience. Large part walking tour, small part tour of studio, this experience ranks as a must do while in Melbourne. Our host, Ben, was fantastic and all aspects were 100% I especially enjoyed the end where we were offered free drinks (nice perk) and a tour of the faculty and exchange with artists.

    Loved the tour!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Caesar. He showed us some great spots with amazing artwork. It’s so interesting to see how frequently the art can change. We finished the tour with a look around the studio which was very interesting. We were given complementary drinks and snacks at the studio.

Brilliant program for school holiday art
This review is for the School holiday program -which included some background on street art and a live street art workshop for kids age 10+ Our primary aged kids did this tour with a group of friends and loved it. They learnt about Melbourne street art history and did a sketch and street painting workshop in the Blender laneway at their studio surrounded by art. The team were incredibly organised, friendly and did a great job instructing the kids. I would highly recommend it for a unique experience for kids that are into sketching, drawing, graphics and art.

Kids Holiday Workshop - Freehand Street Art
My 2 boys did the Kids Holiday Workshop - Freehand Street Art with Blender Studio and they absolutely loved it. The whole 2 hours was informative, interactive and totally creative. The guys gave heaps of tips and assistance to the kids and guided them through the graffiti learning process. We even got to pay the $10 and take the artwork home. Totally worth every cent and a great day out.

    Spray Can Art Course
I signed up for the spray can art course. I found it to be informative and inspirational. The best part was the practical. Kasper was a great teacher and I enjoyed learning some of the basic techniques and seeing some of his skills at work. The two hours went quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I would love to sign up for a follow up course where we could learn even more techniques and do more practical work. I would recommend this class to anyone.

    Great Class!!!
My son and I went together. It was such fun and so informative. We did the free hand spray painting. We've learnt enough in the 2 hour class that we can now take home and continue the art. Kasper was a great teacher.

    Very disappointing
My kids did a spray paint stencil art workshop and had a terrible time, the organisers were very authoritarian and constantly told the kids to stop talking to each other. Told them to ask if they needed help but when they did, they were gaslit and told they could do it by themselves. They were told to do their names instead of the artwork they wanted to do as it would be easier. The dietary requirements were asked beforehand but then when snacks were offered the kids asked if they were able to eat it and the teachers said they were too busy to check so they just had to miss out on the snacks. These holiday workshops should be fun, engaging, social and respectful. They think that children should be treated badly to do well. Would definitely not recommend. The bare minimum is to treat everyone with respect, children are worthy of respect and if I have to ask for that then that's not okay....

    Inspirational, interesting & colourful
I loved this tour, Matt was very passionate & informative, willing to listen & answer questions The walk was a great pace, we were given plenty of time to photograph the artwork & it was encouraged. The Blender Studios were so welcoming as were the artists I would highly recommend this tour.

Memorable and inspiring spray painting workshop
My kids absolutely LOVED the school holiday spray painting class! What a memorable morning. As a primary school teacher I was blown away with how the artists spoke to and interacted with the kids and put so much effort into ensuring the kids produced a piece that they loved. Worth every penny! My 12 yo son is so hard to impress with activities these days, and this workshop has really ignited his passion for art again. Thanks for the inspiration all guys and gals at Blender Studios.

Fun, Hands-on Adult Freehand Beginner Workshop at the inspiring Blender Studios.
Cheers to @kaspersart, Doyle and Pia at Blender Studios/Melbourne Street Tours. I am an absolute newbie and this freehand workshop was pitched in a way that made me feel at ease to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. Kasper shared his knowledge and insight of years of experience as a street artist along with handy tips to make the most of this hands-on workshop. Getting stuck in to practice before sketching and planning a piece was great, as was the morning tea ;-) Blender is a really inspiring space and we were made welcome to wander the studio and check out the show in the front gallery. I was proud to come away with my first ever painting and highly recommend checking out what Melbourne Street Tours and Blender Studios has on offer.

    Plenty to see
I’m not sure of the boundary between Fitzroy and Collingwood, but the walk is well worthwhile. And a nice added bonus - plenty of great beverage stops along the way to refresh a weary traveller…

    Fantastic!
Just wanted to say THANKS to Ben and Tom for our Fitzroy Street Art Tour on Sat. We learnt so much about street art and viewed so many amazing pieces of art, which we would never have seen without our great guide! A great way to see art and walk the streets of Collingwood and Fitzroy. We will be back again.

This was well worth it for the insight it gave me into the laneways I visit every time I come to Melbourne - three or four times a year, for years. Matt - or ‘Maha’ to use his artist’s name - was informative and guided the international travellers through Bourke Street Mall & on and off a tram safely without losing anyone! Highly recommend even for Aussies like me. The finish at the studio is not the hard sell that this cynical traveller expected but a great opportunity to see art being produced (Ok, I bought something but who can resist wearable art).

Thanks for sharing your review of the tour with Matt! For a regular visitor to Melbourne it is always a treat to share a new perspective of the city you know so well, and then it makes our day to hear that you would recommend this to others. We certainly don't do a hard sell at the studios, but always appreciate when our artists are supported, so thank you very much for coming along on a tour! :D

We did a private tour with our extended family - the oldest 70+ years old, the youngest 10. We all absolutely loved this tour! Our guide Matt was fantastic. He is a talented street artist who has painted in the alleyways and knows the scene. It was engaging and fascinating and Matt helped us ‘find’ the things we’d miss on our own - the group collaborations, the small found object artworks and hidden pieces behind grates. The tour finishes at Blender Studios and its an absolute highlight - you have a drink and some nibbles and walk through the studios of the different artists, chat with the manager and see the incredibly diverse work. It was one of the best extended family experiences we’ve had. It is worth spending the extra on a private tour so that you can do it at your own pace. The guide is more than happy to answer all your questions with good humour, knowledge and nous. A quintessentially Melbourne experience!

We had an excellent street art tour with Ben yesterday and got to see some amazing, and not so amazing pieces in locations that we may not have found on our own. Even within each laneway Ben was very good at pointing out the little details and points of interest that would otherwise go unnoticed. He pointed out works by many different artists in many different styles. We have enjoyed street art tours around the world and were very happy to add Melbourne in this year of holiday at home. The visit to Blender Studios was a fascinating way to finish up. Thank you to everyone who was able to make this happen for us- we are very pleased that we didn’t miss out. A big thank you to Ben for his time and knowledge showing us around a taste of the Melbourne street art scene and leaving us with a bit more knowledge as we continue to explore.

Loved listening to some of the stories, inspiration and culture from one of the artists. I felt invited in to a world I knew very little about and left with a wider scope and appreciation. Thanks Ben and the team at Blender Studios. Highly recommended!

We took the Melbourne Street Art CBD tour with Ben and he was incredible. As a local artist he has a ton of knowledge about the background and stories behind the art as we walked through the various streets and alleys. The tour of Blender studios at the end was amazing as well.

I so enjoyed my day exploring the laneways of Melbourne with Melbourne Street Art Tours. I have walked the laneways on my own but being with a knowledgeable guide with the backstories of the artists as well the history of the street art movement added so much. Don’t miss this tour! It’s a must-do in Melbourne!

Having an artist as the tour guide was what made this tour. Having someone in their field with the knowledge and insight is a master stroke. The tour was very enjoyable and opened my eyes to the world of street art, and that street art is more than just paint.
If you're looking for tour of Melbourne this is the one you want to be on.

I took this tour in mid-January. Our guide was Matt. He did an excellent job of sharing the ins and outs of Melbourne's street art scene. I came away with a much better appreciation of street art in general, as well as a better understanding of the politics, the techniques and the etiquette involved. The tour of Blender studios at the end was an added bonus. Highly recommend it!

On the actual tour itself, it was the street that had the Legacy art that was quite impressive because it wasn't just stenciled or sprayed on like most of the rest of the street art. There was also an area - an alleyway of sorts between some shops that had an assortment of multi-media pieces including a lot of framed (by picture frames) art that was interesting. Loved getting shown around Blender studios. Was beyond impressed by the quality of the art being produced there. They're certainly a talented bunch.

We took Year 9 students on the street art tour, and they also had a stencil art class as well. The whole day was arranged by staff at Melbourne Street Tours, down to where the easiest place to have lunch was. They were extremely helpful. All of the staff were really encouraging and positive with the students and this point alone was extremely appreciated.
