      Best wine tour
3 years ago to the month me and my partner were back on the bus for another wine tour we loved it going on the bus again and to the winery’s with wine bus tour we loved the driver Ian he is so informative and you can have a joke with him as well. I would recommend this wine bus to anyone that would be travelling or living in Melbourne to go them. Me and my partner had a ball and also the music in the bus is so tasteful something for everyone to listen to. Thank you Ian and wine bus :)

      Perfect wine tasting trip
My father and I decided to go for a wine tasting trip. Winebus provides a perfect combination. It includes 4 places of wine tasting, a lunch and a visit to the chocolate factory to cap off the day-trip. Other tours cover only 3 wineries without lunch. Winebus is definitely a place with the best bang for your bucks! They are very helpful and flexible when we could not make it to our original date of trip and requested a change. No fuss and it was done. We really appreciate it. Ian is a great driver and guide that made the trip informative and fun. One of our group-mates has a crutch. Ian kindly dropped her very close to her home in Melbourne. That is such a heartwarming gesture! Overall, we cannot find anything to criticise. We will certainly come back and use their service again in the future. Thank you for the fun day, Ian! See you again in the future!

      Great day
We had a brilliant day out with Ian. Prompt efficient pickup. 4 wineries visited were informative. Delicious lunch. Ian is a great guide. Free chocolate at the last stop rounded off a laid back Sunday as we snoozed our way home. Great value!

Listen to what your people want!
The tour was decent but... Over 90% of the tour group wanted to participate in the wine tasting at Chandon for $12.00 as it’s not included in the tour. Due to time constraints we never got to do that, which was a let down as it was a suggested option to do by Ian the tour guide. When we asked Ian to have an extra 10 minutes he said no as we need to go to the chocolate and ice cream joint. Most people were done by 1600 and currently waiting on the bus to depart back home. The time at the chocolate place could have been decrease to ensure all participants could have been kept happy. We could have had the additional time to enjoy a tasting at Chandon. He refused to listen to what the people want and considering we pay $130.00 and most people would have love to do the tasting... he should have given us that small amount of time to try some wines that aren’t even available for purchase at standard bottle shops. Very disappointing.

      Huge tour group, no Chandon
Tour of 20 people, way too big. I have done 4 previous public tours of the yarra valley (as well as several in NZ, mornington and US). Never had more then 8-10 people. When we got on the bus our group of 3 Friends had to split up, when we got back on the bus after the first stop and sat together some of the other passengers got very upset we 'stole'there seats. The website states that tour either goes to Chandon or Rob dolen wines. We did not go to either! Last stop was billanook estate, just gave us a tiny bit of sparkling (was very average too) no discussion and said if you want to taste something else let me know.... Rochford was ok but very small portions when tasting wine all day something a bit heartier would have been much better. Overall this was very pricey for the quality and price of the tour. Worst wine tour by a long shot. Would not recommend.

Well-organised trip, but driver had attitude
Took this tour on 16 March and the experience was soured by the driver yelling at a group on the bus for talking while he was talking (mostly telling poor jokes). He actually threatened to put them off the bus if they weren't quiet. Unacceptable behaviour in any circumstances, but ridiculous to be so sensitive on a winery tour. Lunch options and quality of food at Rochford were also disappointing. Nonetheless, the tour had a good itinerary of wineries, with excellent hosts at the boutiques, so a pleasant day overall.

      50th Birthday outing
This was an amazing experience and had Ian the owner as the tour guide, thank you so much for your knowledge, experience and friendliness. This is something I would recommend highly to anyone young or old, very reasonable cost for all day tour visiting 4 wineries, lunch and a Chocolaterie shop. Can’t wait to bring family along next time, thanks for the birthday song too, keep up the good work👍

      Amazing day!
Full day program with a small group of people perfectly hosted by mr Ian - he couldn’t do better! We visited four wineries, all amazing venues, where we tasted about 8-10 wines. Very well organized and professional, I would reccomend this trip to everyone who is kean to explore the beautiful Yarra Valley. Also great for solo travelers!

      Small group tour Mornington Peninsular
Small group of 6 friends picked up right on time in Melbourne and travelled to the Mornington Peninsular for the day. The driver Russell was excellent, he was flexible with where we went and the time spent at different locations. I would recommend this company.

      Informative and well-planned
Ian, the tour guide, has a great sense of humour and an excellent knowledge of the routes. He brought us to spot kangaroos, which is a bonus! The whole trip was very well organised! I would recommend him!

The best way to spend the day!
My friend and I have been living in Melbourne for 6 months, and took this tour with a friend visiting from NZ - and it is by far one of the best things we've done in Australia so far! Ian was an awesome guide, made the day so easy for us, has a great sense of humour and good music in the van. The food was incredible and all of the venues we visited were so much fun (and some had cute dogs too!) it rained all day but we had a great time nonetheless! We're looking forward to our next tour :)

We had a great time on our Yarra Valley Wine Tour. 4 wineries and a chocolate factory. Our driver was friendly and informative and interested in what we had to say as well. Good talker and listener. The four wineries were good although I was a bit disappointed in the food for lunch. The chicken and fish were so-so but the beef was delicious.
Highly recommend it if you want to taste a wide variety of wines.

We were in Melbourne for a weeks holiday & booked this tour to the Yarra Valley wine region based on review feedback and were not disappointed.
My partner and I had a thoroughly enjoyable day with great commentary and interaction by the host and driver Ian. There was a good cross section of other patrons on the small well appointed bus. We tasted a great selection of wines over a number of vineyards. The included lunch on the tour was impressive and satisfying.
Highly recommend this tour & represents value for money!

Fantastic day in the yarra valley.
Thoroughly enjoyed the company, the wines, the lunch, and the ice-creamery to finish it off.
Ian our driver was very knowledgeable of the local area and vineyards we visited, and had some crackling jokes to keep us all entertained.
    Would recommend.

What a wonderful tour. Tasted some 5-6 wines at 4 different wineries in lovely countryside. No one did a hard sell and all presenters seemed keen that we enjoyed our experience. We even bought wine. Other tour party members had a like minded attitude and were good fun

Totally recommend this experience - Ian was very professional and approachable. There were four couples plus two young kids, he made sure everyone had a good time.Tasted a wide range of wines, learnt a lot about the vineyards and the styles, nice lunch and ice cream, and toured a very scenic valley. Thanks Ian!

This is the 4th company in Melbourne I have gone on a wine tour with In the Yarra Valley and it was definitely the most disappointing! I booked this after reading reviews believing we were guaranteed a fantastic day.. How wrong were we.. Paul did not get the group involved with each other or involve himself with them. He did not follow up to see if service was adequate or we were being tended too.. We were left to fend for ourselves.. There was also instances where he mimicked us. He did not sit with us for lunch or ask were we happy with our food. He lacked personality and the fun factor.. He wanted to do the bare minimum and have us back as early as possible.. We may aswell have booked a Maxi Cab with 13 Cabs to do the tour.. I am severely dissapointed with the level of service received and quality of tour. Would not recommend this tour.. Shop around people there is much better available in Melbourne

We came on a tour today for my day off after a really stressful week of work. When booking we asked how many people would be on the tour and were told 8-12 people, however when we were pick up today we were told there would actually be 24. The last two people getting pick up were so upset about the number of people they declined to come. There is also a group of 9 girls celebrating a birthday who have been loud and speaking through EVERY tasting so far overtop of the people describing the wines. A group of that size and out for a party should NEVER have been booked with other groups of people, looking to have a nice day of trying and learning about wine; especially when it means there are so many peopls we cant even all stand at the tasting counter, and have to stand behind people to try wines. Our group was also so large that we had to eat lunch indoors, rather than outside on the patio looking at the view of the vinyard, on a sunny beautiful day. So far this wine tour is the opposite of everything I was looking for, and the worst wine tour I've ever been on. If we had known it would be so big, impersonal, and completely lacking any intamcy due to far to large of a group to possibly accommodate we would have booked with someone else. I am hugely disappointed with my experience and hope to be hearing from someone to either have a refund or redo since I DID NOT recieve what I thought I was paying for. The only redeeming thing of the day is that the food at Tokar Estate was fantastic (despite being kind of cold because they had to prepare so much for so many people in our group all at once) and that the driver was nice.

Hugely disappointing, especially after reading all the positive reviews. We had Greg as a guide and he got lost several times along the way, often resorting to dangerous driving manoeuvres to get back on track. The route was poorly planned so we ended up spending more than an hour on the bus between the first winery (Rob Dolan) and the lunch venue (Tokar). The trip was quite uncomfortable as the van had no windows and Greg wasn't able to operate the air conditioning system for the first half of the trip. Communication was poor throughout and it took us a while to get Greg to share the route and the various wineries the tour had booked - at one point he rudely walked away mid-conversation and only returned half an hour later after we had to introduce ourselves to the tasting and restaurant staff so we could get lunch and our tasting organised. Greg has no interest in wine and little knowledge of the Yarra Valley, so he wasn't able to add any insights during the journey - he was little more than a bus driver and definitely not a tour operator/guide. The wineries themselves were fine; outside seating for lunch would have been an improvement so we could enjoy the vista of the vineyards. Slight downside is the we were a bit rushed as we started late due to getting lost quite a bit and needed to make up for time. If you do book, make sure you go with an experienced guide as it adds so much to the overall enjoyment to get that extra insight about the region. It also helps to know where you're going!

I took a full-day wine tour to the Yarra Valley. We visited four wineries: Chandon, Oakridge, Soumah and Madden's Rise.

Chandon was exactly what I expected. Really stunning, beautiful tasting room with ample seating, etc.

I expected more out of Oakridge. This is an award-winning winery, but the facilities were cramped and very noisy. There's no tasting room - our group stood around the counter of their wine/gift shop and the sommelier literally cleared off space on the small counter to make room, we stood during the entire tasting. Then, due to the number of groups, during the tasting the sommelier had to switch back and forth between our group and the group standing next to us. Adding to the noise was an impromptu employee staff meeting taking place behind the counter. The lunch and wines there were very good, however.

Soumah is a boutique winery and we were the only group there. We tasted an impressive number of wines (6-8) and the sommelier was knowledgeable and friendly. We finished with a visit to Madden's Rise. We tasted a long list of wines as well (8).

In terms of the overall experience, I'm used to tours where each winery arranges their own tour guide to meet the group and provides a short tour of the facility before tasting. We only received a tour of Chandon, and the tour was guided by our driver and guide, Paul. We didn't get this at the other 3 wineries - it was more of a tasting-only and tasting-and-lunch visit. No behind-the-scenes tours.

Paul was our driver and guide and he was professional and courteous, we could not have asked for a nicer host! The bus was spotless and not overcrowded. Paul knows a lot about winemaking in the Yarra Valley, and I would definitely recommend this company to others. It appears to cater to smaller groups, and I like that.

A very professional company. They did not cancel the tour in spite of me and my wife being the only people on the tour. Ian our guide was very helpful and accomodative. Since we were the only people with him on the tour and do not consume wine, he changed the iternary to suit us. The lunch was included in the tour package and believe me it was excellent. Ian was very informative and kept us involved throughout the trip. Highly recommend them for the Yarra Valley tour.
