- barbaramlloyd620 contributionsGreat Ocean Road magical mystery tourKevin our lovely guide picked us up in the morning and we embarked on our day tour.He was funny and informative all day and took us to all the regular sights plus a few extra which included seeing kangaroos and koalas in the wild. The views were stunning and a great day was had by allWritten 4 February 2025
- Gail M0 contributionsWonderful Day With FredWonderful trip with our lively, informative, driver Fred. Beautiful beaches, rock formations, and countryside. Long day but well worth it to see all, including koalas and kangaroos, that is in that area.Written 1 February 2025
- brianfT4757DF0 contributionsGreat tour with Josh. Best part was the Penguin Parade. Be prepared, it’s cold! Other parts were enjoyable. We had a great tour with Josh. He was knowledgeable and friendly. As I said before, the best part was the Penguin Parade. Thanks to Josh’s advice, we saw everything we wanted to see!Written 30 January 2025
- S688EQjg0 contributionsPhilip Island Penguin Parade Day/ Night TourOceania Tours provided an organised & relaxed tour to Philip Island Penguin Parade including a few stops at places such as Moonlit Sanctuary/ Nobbies/ Cowes for dinner. Our guide Josh was very knowledgeable, relaxed and great with interacting with the tour of all different age groups. He knew when to provide information and when to provide space. Don’t forget to pack warm clothes for the evening! Brilliant tour & highly recommend.Written 28 January 2025
- Sightseer7311810 contributionsMust do --little penguin paradeAlex, our guide, was the best! he was funny and informative. The tour was well organized with a timely pickup. I enjoyed the sanctuary visit and photo ops with our Koala friend. As cute as the koalas were, the little penguin were even cuter! We signed up for the discovery penguin tour--it really did not impress as I wasn't even sure how this differed from the standard penguin tour. I would suggest the onsite staff give us penguin information in the comfort of the theater where it's not so cold and the microphone can be used for better audio. Outside on the bleachers, we can't hear with the wind and the echo of the other groups in the background. At the end of the day, the beach, the wildlife and the penguins stole the show --so go!Written 27 January 2025
- K5139IIshelleya0 contributionsAmazing days with two great tour guides!Amazing experience. Two very long days but definitely the best way to see so much of the area. Dandy was our tour guide for the Great Ocean Road day and we learned more about the history of Australia than we ever expected. Sharing stories of growing up in the area made this a real personal experience and with such a small group Dandy was really able to make sure we were all getting what we wanted out of the day. I don't need to speak about the actual stops and scenery, I can assure you you will not be disappointed. The second day on our Phillip Island excursion we had Travis as our tour guide. His relationship with the animals was priceless. From Moonlit Sanctuary to Philip Island, he really knows what he's talking about. The itinerary's on both of these days are amazing and very inclusive-but the tour guides BOTH really made all the difference. Couldn't have asked for more!Written 23 January 2025
- Jenifer H0 contributionsMust see!Our guide, Travis, was fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable about all the wonderful animals and went out of his way to show us many that we would not have seen, and had never heard of before. He had just the right amount of talking and made the trip way better than we expected. The penguins were simply adorable and a must see. Make sure to get the Plus package-very worth it first the best viewing.Written 22 January 2025

- S4783PIrichardh0 contributionsGreat wildlife and relaxation experience! We had a fantastic time on this trip with two great guides, Kevin and Gary. Kevin picked us up and proceeded to drive us out the eastern peninsula of Melbourne to Moonlit Sanctuary. Along the way he gave us great information about Australian life, culture and sports, especially Australian Rules Football, his passion. At the Sanctuary, he led us around pointing out the various opportunities to interact with the wildlife. He also provided us with grain to feed the kangaroos and wallabies. The sanctuary was outstanding. My wife and I had had encounters with local wildlife at two previous tours in New Zealand and Tasmania, but this was by far the best: so many kangaroos, wallabies, birds, dingoes, and koalas. The Moonlit Sanctuary and Kevin’s directions made for an amazing visit. Gary then picked us up and took us to Peninsula Hot Springs. My wife and I expected, hot springs like we had experienced in Iceland and Japan and were surprised that this was a resort style spa. After adjusting our expectations, we relaxed and enjoyed the great amenities at the spa. All we needed to bring was our bathing suits, they provided bathrobes and towels. Gary stayed with us, and we had great conversations about Australian culture and activities. Bonnie, my wife is an anthropologist, and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with Gary. Be prepared for long drive times to get out the peninsula to both places. We loved our exploration and encounters with the Australian wildlife and were happy to be able to relax and soak on our last full day in Australia. We highly recommend this Oceania Tours & Safaris experience.Written 20 January 2025
- Dave W0 contributionsInteresting tour Great Ocean RoadCollected by Adam our driver and tour guide for the 11 hour trip. It’s a long day in the van but Adam made it interesting with facts about the area and stops along the way including a chocolate factory, Apollo bay, 12 Apostles and loch ard gorge. Met so great people on the bus and made the day special. RecommendedWritten 20 January 2025
- 723jeanettev0 contributionsPenguin parade is once-in-a-lifetimeGreat driver/guide who knew where all the good photo oops were. Penguin parade was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Seeing the wildlife out on the wild much preferred than in the protected captive areas.Written 18 January 2025
- 236raym0 contributionsAn amazing day while in MelbourneMy family took the private tour of Phillip Island and had an amazing day. The tour guide was so knowledgeable about Melbourne, the Moonlight Sanctuary and Phillip Island. He had many interesting stories about all the places we visited and was super accommodating. Our guide for the day, Fred G., had so much energy and engaging with describing the sites and experiences of the tour. No matter how much you read or have it explained to you, the Penguin Parade is an amazing event to watch and experience.Written 17 January 2025

Wonderful tours as hosted by Fred & Travis! The City tour was well documented with good stories; I loved seeing the oldest building in Australia as well as driving on the F1 track. The afternoon trip to Phillip was very memorable particularly given Travis' recommendations on how best to handle my "general" reservation. Travis was full of knowledge about all types of wildlife on Phillip Island!

The Melbourne City Tour was very informative with a great guide seeing several sites in three hours. We were dropped off for a two hour lunch on our own at the Eurika Skydeck by the Yarra River and had a wonderful lunch overlooking the river. We were picked up at two by a different guide to go to Phillip Island. There was a wonderful stop at a sanctuary to see several Australian animals. We stopped at several places on Phillip Island finally stopping where we would have dinner and watch the evening penguin parade. It was all amazing. We were dropped off at our hotel after midnight. I think if we were to do this again, we might take two separate tours rather than combining them but we loved the entire day and evening!

We got picked up for our morning tour of the city, and it was a perfectly fine tour, and part of why I am giving any "stars". We got dropped off at the Skydeck where we were told we would get picked up at 2 for the second half of our tour. We were at the meeting point before 2. An Oceania Tours driver came by, picked up one person, and told us that another bus would be coming for us, that the traffic was really bad so they were all running behind. We waited until 3 before I called to see where our bus might be. We were told that we weren't booked for a tour that day. I said, "that is ridiculous, because your bus dropped me off here 3 hours ago, so I am absolutely on a tour today". The further they looked into it, they realized their "system" hadn't added us to the second half of the tour. They asked if we wanted to get an Uber to the Sanctuary, which we would have likely missed most of, and which was part of what I was looking forward to the most. Or we could re-book the second half the next day, which didn't work because we had a full schedule. Or they offered us a full refund. We took the refund, and it came through pretty quickly, so they did make us whole. However, I really wanted to do the full tour. I was upset that we were forgotten and that we wasted 3 hours, most of which was spent in the heat. This was our 2nd worst tour experience through our entire 3 week trip to New Zealand and Australia.
I hesitated to write this review, but I probably would have still booked this tour, and just asked the first driver to call the company to make sure we were on the second half if I had known that was a regular issue. So, by all means, book this tour, but know that you could run into this issue and just plan ahead and ask if you are definitely listed on the second half of the tour.
It sounded like it had happened to another couple the day before, and the person who handled my phone call said it was a known issue, so the company should really work to get that problem solved, so their customers don't have to do the extra work of verifying what should already be known, especially if they are mid-tour.

So, you definitely get your money's worth on this tour. It makes for a very long day, but if you have a limited time in the Melbourne area, it's a good crash-course. The tour is divided into two halves with an interesting city tour in the morning, a two our break for lunch and then in the afternoon with the animals. The penguin parade doesn't start until after dark, so plan on a return to the city at or around midnight or later. Shout out to Fred the morning guide and Kevin the afternoon guide. Both did a great job!

Martin what is the best driver ever had in my travels. He took extra time to explain different parts of the city and the island . He even stopped to see some animals that were on the side of the road racd. Safety was always his concern,. I would recommend my family and friends to make sure when they come here to take the tour. A big shout out to Martin for a job. Well done you’re lucky to have him on your team.

Fred, our tour guide was the best aspect of the tour. Meeting him on this trip made our day. It was like having a friend overseas who you could rely on for seeing places locally. His knowledge and passion for the city, for the job, for the places we visited made the tour ten times more amazing. It was endearing to see the marsupials in the sanctuary. For someone of South Asian origin, India, undoubtedly, the highlight of the tour was seeing the kangaroos and koalas, the penguins, the exotic bird species unique to Australia, and of course, the stories that Fred engaged us with made the entire tour a lot less tiring and fun.
We couldn't have asked for a better tour or a tour guide. We'll return a million times and never hesitate to book the tour. You are amazing, Fred! Thank you for the innumerable memories that you helped us make!

We loved seeing Melbourne in the morning city tour. Gary was absolutely the BEST guide and so knowledgeable. We learned and saw so much about Melbourne. The afternoon tour was to Penguin Parade, Moonlit Sanctuary, and the Nobbies. Alex was knowledgeable, comical, helpful and a magnificent tour guide. These two tours are a MUST for visitors, and if your visiting friends need to see the city firsthand.
After this day we fell in love with Melbourne.

Great! Sam was a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. This is really two tours with a lunch on your own break in the middle, which was fine with us. It did make for a long day, but the views at the end of the day from Philip Island were the best part and well worth the drive.

I am traveling with my daughter. Both of us would like to take your tour. We are in Melbourne and available on August 9 and 10 but you only have 1 space available. What should we do? We will be coming from Byron Bay on August 8th and leaving August 11.
