        Very Long Day
The Melbourne City Tour was very informative with a great guide seeing several sites in three hours. We were dropped off for a two hour lunch on our own at the Eurika Skydeck by the Yarra River and had a wonderful lunch overlooking the river. We were picked up at two by a different guide to go to Phillip Island. There was a wonderful stop at a sanctuary to see several Australian animals. We stopped at several places on Phillip Island finally stopping where we would have dinner and watch the evening penguin parade. It was all amazing. We were dropped off at our hotel after midnight. I think if we were to do this again, we might take two separate tours rather than combining them but we loved the entire day and evening!

        Travis, the ‘Nature King’
Magical, awe inspiring experience. From the pick up at our hotel to the drop off at 12pm. It was nature at its best. The Moonlit Nature Reserve allowed us to witness the beauty of koala, kangaroo (Annabelle),cockatoo etc… Philip Island didn’t disappoint, with the icing on the cake being the Penguin Plus bonanza. We were actually moved to tears watching the penguins land and waddle up the beach intent on feeding their young. Furthermore, the experience was enhanced due to our wonderful guide Travis. His love and knowledge of nature shone through right from the start. His easy and friendly narration was informative and interesting, answering all questions put. We would highly recommend this tour.

        Fabulous Ocean Coastline
To start - our tour guide, Dandy was fantastic! He picked us up at our hotel promptly and had so much information to share. He took us to all the wonderful sights to see on the road....the beaches, the coastline, a rainforest, as well as finding koalas and kangaroos in their natural habitat for us to see and photograph. (no sanctuaries with fences!!) We saw the 12 Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge. There were comfort stops and lunch. We would not do the included lunch again, as the menu is limited and there are so many other restaurants to choose from. Dandy's driving was flawless! He is very informed and obviously proud of his country and this area in particular. Remember this is a long day, plan accordingly.

Too pricy for what you get and strange combination
Didn't understand why they combined a railway tour with a visit to a sanctuary. The ride was ok, but the views did not justify the length of the ride. From there to the sanctuary was one hour drive and then only one hour in the sanctuary. That was way too short, especially if you (pre)booked an encounter with a koala. For all that it was too pricy. But our guide Travis was great. So much interesting information we got from him while he was driving us. He's just a really cool, relaxed guy and made this trip, together with the koala encounter, memorable.

A magical day full of nature
I did this tour on December 24, 2023, and we were fortunate enough to have Dandy as our guide and driver. We followed the Great Ocean Road, stopping at various points of interest. Dandy gave me a restaurant recommendation where I enjoyed a calamari watermelon salad for lunch (delicious!). In the afternoon, Dandy found several koala, including one with a large Joey, and a mob of kangaroos. This was followed by a magical bush walk in an old growth forest, and stops at the Twelve Apostles and the Loch Ard Gorge. Dandy was a wealth of information on the sites we visited, and the best places to view animals and birds. It was a delightful and magical day. Thank you!

Great day on Great Ocean Road
Tour guide Dandy gave us a brilliant day exploring the Great Ocean Road. Company went extra mile by locating an item left on minibus and delivering directly to hotel next day. Excellent!

A very memorable day on The Great Ocean Road
We chose Oceania tours on the recommendation of our hotel the Crowne Plaza ,and we were not disappointed. Sarah was not only our careful driver, but an excellent tour guide too, giving us informative and entertaining comments along the way. Sarah arranged several stops, looking at places of interest, the rain forest koalas, coffee/lunch breaks and plenty of comfort breaks too! On seeing coach loads arrive at some of the destinations we were pleased we had chosen to be in a small group, as viewing space was often very limited.

The best of Victoria in one day
We had a wonderful time on the your, and Dandy is a fantastic guide and deserves special recognition, he really made the day special. This was my second time visiting the Great Ocean Road, my first was more than 20 years ago when I was a uni student, so it was great to experience it my wife on her first visit to Australia. Highly recommended.

        Extremely frustrated
We are Canadian tourists who paid the half day city tour with Oceania Tours and Safaris but they didn't pick us up. They claimed they did, but no one showed up to pick us up. So other tourists, please beware and avoid choosing this terrible company. It's a waste of money and time

        Great Ocean Road rock star
So glad we did this tour as part of our holiday in Australia (from the UK). Our guide, Dandy, was excellent and I feel he was instrumental in making the tour so memorable. He showed us the sights and spell-binding views along the surf coast and shipwreck coast; he related stories, history and anecdotes that added depth and colour to what we were seeing; made sure we found the best places to go for coffees and lunch; drew upon his deep knowledge of the land to take us to see koalas and kangaroos off the beaten track; by way of further flourishes introduced us to some Australian poetry and music; helped us take great photos, and was just great fun to spend the day with. And he got us back to Melbourne on schedule. Awesome!

Great tour along the coast road
We took the tour from Melbourne to the 12 Apostles and had a thourghly good day out. We saw great scenary, wild koalas and kangaroos along the way. Our driver/guide (Jeff) was great fun and very insightful from start to finish. It is a full, long day. Highlight for me was the walk in the temperate rain forest with toweing Mountain Ash snd Tree Ferns.

Great way to see the city
Thanks so much for an entertaining and informative trip. Sam was a great guide who did a wonderful job speaking Italian and English. It made the trip even more interesting. This was a great way to see the city. I'm so pleased I did it as a solo traveller.

Tour guide Eli was knowledgable about the area and provided good commentary throughout the day. The size of the tour group small which was great since it provided an opportunity to meet new people. The safari experience was one of the best we've had in Australia since the animals are'nt locked up in an enclosure but free to wander as you feed them allowing for a much more personal apporach. Ending the day with the Phillps Island was a once in a life time experience. The Penguin Plus seating allowed us to get a great up close and personal view of the penguins coming up from the beach. Would reccommend to somebody looking to get away from the city and explore what nature has to offer around Melbounre.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the TripAdvisor readers. Moonlit Sanctuary and the Penguin Parade are certainly unique experiences that most of our visitors get to enjoy and hopefully we have the opportunity of showing you other highlights of Victoria in the future.

Small group tour with Sam to Phillip Island starting at 1pm. Good logistics, well organised with plenty of time in each place. First stop at Moonlit Sanctuary was excellent. We had the chance to take photos with koalas. We saw a wombat, Tasmanian devil, kangaroos, wallabies and kookaburras. Sam provided food to feed kangaroos so we could see them up close.

At Phillip Island we had time to eat dinner at their quick service restaurant before taking our seats at the penguin viewing platform ( we paid for penguin plus). Oceania Tours provided insulated cushions which helped keep us warm on the decking. The delightful penguins came into shore at 18:20, waddling up the slope in small groups.

The mini bus for 10 is a little snug but preferred a smaller group post-COVID.

This trip was the most memorable experience of our trip to Melbourne.

Our tour guide was so friendly and personable. He was full of knowledge with a background in biology and his sense of humor kept us entertained the entire trip. The Moonlit Sanctuary had animals that were both friendly and free to roam. Anyone who approached you could be pet and fed! My daughter loved her time feeding wallabies and kangaroos and the place was almost empty giving you lots of quality time with the animals. After that we were able to get some great sunset photos along the beach before preparing for the Penguin Plus experience (highly recommend, as they run right next to your feet!). Our guide was also kind enough to offer cushions for our bums on the hard viewing platform. There were over 1800 penguins on our night and we were thrilled to see them. Loved this tour and would highly recommend it! Bring a warm coat!

Eleven guests rode with Mehmet for this day trip to visit all the animals of Australia, both in the wild and at a small zoo, where you are up close to kangaroos, wallabies, emus and birds. We even passed a camel farm on the road! Bring rain gear. The highlight is at sunset when thousands of tiny penguins come ashore right in front of you. Mehmet made sure we had front row seats by offering his great advice. Restaurant at Penguins was very good. You will enjoy.

Great experience and amazing memory created.
The tour was brilliantly put together, and a big thank you to our tour guide Travis (you were brilliant) as it takes a couple hours to get to Phillip Island, on the way you stop off at a wildlife sanctuary and get to see some amazing animals (brilliant commentary from Travis, he knows a lot about these animals and really gave us the best experience), you get to stop off a look out point (which we were lucky enough to see a penguin in there burrows) all before heading to the penguin viewing points. Would highly recommend upgrading to penguin plus, don't risk leaving it until you get there as they sell out, you have the option to add this when booking, you get a much better view of the penguins coming up from the beach and along the board walk, its so worth the extra you pay.
Overall, brilliant trip and would certainly do it again, don't hesitate to book, something you will remember forever.

Oceania Tours & Safaris can be highly commended for continuing to offer safe and enjoyable tours in the aftermath of the COVID -19 lockdowns. We really appreciated that the tour went ahead despite my husband and I being the only subscribed guests. Fred, our tour guide and driver, was outstanding in his dedication to ensuring we had the best day! His engagement and enthusiasm, for the entire 10 hour tour, were outstanding and he couldn’t do enough to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Such an employee is absolute “gold” for your company in ensuring word of mouth referrals and return customers. Thank you very much indeed Fred from J and K.

Travelling to the Penguin Parade along the cliff top road Kevin knew where to look for Wallabies and Penguins in their burrows. That specialist knowledge lead us to see a Wallaby with Joey at close quarters as well as a Penguin waiting in its burrow and one that waddled in front of us. This was beyond what other visitors would have seen and made our day!

We stopped at the Moonlit Sanctuary on the way and saw a lot of animals there - highlight being a Tasmanian Devil popping out from the shade just as we took a look at him!

Kevin was also a good driver - kept us entertained with his knowledge of all things Victoria on the journey over from Melbourne to the Island.

The Penguin parade itself was a magical phenomenon and with the parade plus tickets saw the action up close in a smaller group than the big crowd.

A great day seeing nature that we'll never forget!

We specifically chose this afternoon day trip because we didn’t want to spend all day on Phillip Island like some other tours when our main goal was to see the penguins. We loved how this tour condensed the main highlights like the Moonlit Sanctuary (which broke up the 2 hour drive), Nobbies, and then the penguins at sunset. Our tour guide Alex also made sure we were entertained on the bus ride and had lots of knowledge about the island and animals.

We got to feed kangaroos at the sanctuary, learn about the island, and see the penguins!! They’re so cute, and it’s amazing to see - an experience you can’t replicate at a zoo. One of the highlights of my two week trip in Australia for sure.

Wear warm clothing! We went in the winter so it was a little chilly.

Fabulous experience, highly recommend. Penguins are very cute, we booked the guided penguin tour which gave us access to view from the boardwalks, the extra $$ are worth paying to get a good view. Tour guide Fred was amazing and knowledgeable. Next time we visit Melbourne we will be booking a city tour with Fred.

MANY thanks to Fred for a memorable Philip Island Penguin tour--he is not just a tour guide, but a passionate storyteller who brought our tour to life with his humorous and often heartfelt tales about the animals, the people of Australia, as well as the many people who have been on his previous tours. He entertained us for hours, recounting so many stories (he is actually writing a book about his experiences as a guide), often engaging the group with questions, and interesting facts. He was fantastic at keeping our 9 year old interested and excited along the way. He really made our whole day and penguin experience so special. On the way back, our daughter said-“I’d rather listen to Fred than listen to the radio.” Thanks so much Fred for going above and beyond as a tour guide. We’ve been on many tours, in many countries, and thanks to you, this one stands out above the rest! 💗🐧
