- Vanessa G0 contributionsGet high in Melbourne!A brilliant experience that is a must if you are in Melbourne. We didn’t do any of the add on experiences mainly because I don’t really like heights. The thought of being in a glass cube 88 floors up makes me shudder! The lift is very quick and in a matter of seconds you are on the 88th floor. The views are breathtaking. We were lucky to visit on a clear day and could see for miles. A nice glass of Sauvignon from the bar calmed my nerves and it was a really enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours spotting all the land marks.Written 15 November 2024

- jerneja980 contributionsAmazing views of the cityI got the regular tickets for the skydeck and I added a free drink. I loved seeing Melbourne from above and I think this is a must-do for first time in the city. The drinks were also really good.Written 17 September 2024

- susancolley0 contributionsLong waits to access the Skydeck. Very poor customer service. This was a bad experience. We booked ahead of time for a specified time. When we arrived the queue was so long that we were told we would have to wait 35 minutes. We were told that this happens frequently! We had another appointment scheduled for afterwards so could not wait that long. I have problems standing and there was nowhere that I could sit and the staff did not try to accommodate me. We asked for our money back and were refused because we had booked through a "third party". Obviously, Skydeck has an economic relationship with this company (they collect money from them after all) but they refused to refund our visit. I was given the name and phone number of the general manager to call. I tried four times and was unable to get through. This was very bad customer service and very poor response by the staff - it may not have been their fault but they should be empowered to treat customers with courtesy and respect. I would not recommend a visit to this site unless you are prepared for long waits.Written 14 April 2024
- julesten20160 contributionsSurprising SkydeckWe were given a "Cocktail in the clouds" package which also included the voyager theatre experience. Sitting in our plush red "egg shell" pod chairs we settled in for out 15 minute journey through 16 iconic Melbourne locations. Awesome experience and we were advised to do this event first before enjoying our cocktails which was taken onboard & thank goodness. We enjoyed our cocktails at Bar 88 whilst admiring the scenery of Melbourne city and beyond. The time you spend at the highest observation deck in the southern hemisphere is initially dependent on your own itinerary. The weather gods were on our side so we were in no hurry to leave. ( also it was not crowded) We enjoyed the 360 degree views of our city and would recommend this experience.Written 15 February 2024
- wallybee430 contributionsGreat Views from the 88th Floor! As part of our excursion from the Holland AMerica Noordam Cruise ship we loved tht they included the SkyDeck. The trip up was quick and the views from the 88th floor were incredible. Melbourne is a beautiful city with loads of great architecture. One thing that impressed me was the extensive use of solar panels on most the the buildings below. A very worthwhile adventure while in Melbourne!Written 21 January 2024
- jochg20160 contributionsA wonderful experienceEnjoyed a visit to the Skydeck in Melbourne. Fantastic views and a daring experience in the "glass room". I'd certainly recommend this experience for both young and old alike. There's an area to get a drink and snacks and sitting areas so could spend hours there if desiredWritten 12 December 2023

- Vanessa M0 contributionsMust doThis is a must do, you get to see all of Melbourne from a different perspective. We only did the basic admission, you still get to walk outside onto a caged platform and for us that was good but cold.Written 15 November 2023
- KatielouAustralia0 contributionsSpectacular Views and ExperienceTook the "Cocktails in the Clouds" package which included admission to the Skydeck, the Voyager Theatre experience, and a cocktail at Bar 88. The Skydeck is an observation deck 88 floors up in the air where you can get 360-degree views across Melbourne. There are multiple viewfinders to help you pinpoint numerous significant landmarks around the city. The 6-D Voyager Theatre experience is where virtual reality ‘pod’ chairs take you on an immersive trip through 16 iconic Melbourne experiences that are unbelievably realistic. Finish your trip with a cocktail - what a great way to spend an afternoon.Written 5 November 2023
- Christina W0 contributionsMelbourne Skydeck on a sunny dayThis high rise experience was slightly difficult to find, the directions weren’t brilliant. The actual experience was good but very low key for the basic ticket, compared with towers such as those in New York. Visibility out the windows was fairly good but a lot of glare meant photos weren’t great.Written 2 November 2023

- guennie30 contributionsGreat views from the 88th floorThis is an experience I would totally recommend doing whilst in Melbourne. Admission to the Skydeck was simple and the lift was quick and smooth. The views from the 88th floor were spectacular. Our toasted sandwiches and cocktails were very tasty. Unfortunately, our experience at Bar 88 was spoilt by the long wait for the cocktails and even longer wait for the sandwiches whilst the very rude and immature bar staff (who looked 18 and acted 14) chatted and joked amongst themselves very loudly.Written 18 October 2023
- ThiBRtravel0 contributionsA place you must see when in MelbourneWe went to experience the Skydeck and few other experiences in this tower including two VR activities. I have visited this place few times before, but I think now they have improved the total experience considerably. I think this is a place you must visit if you are visiting Melbourne. Apart from the magnificent view from the top of the tower, this place have some educational aspect too. It has some exhibits to show how settlements in the Melbourne area were built through some animation in the ground floor. Since we booked the tickets online, it was an easy experience for us, but we noticed a small line to buy tickets for people who wanted to buy tickets at the venue. So I suggest to purchase tickets online if you are visiting this place. Although there are some delays in the experience, the staff in this place are very friendly and helpful.Written 8 May 2023

Please be aware of poor and unfair Admin service from Eureka Skydeck Admin.
We visited the Skydeck on 4/4/21. We were a originally going to be a group of 3 adults and 3 children. I purchased a family ticket of 2 + 3 and a single adult ticket around 9:30am that day.
A friend decided to join us later so I went online to purchase another single adult ticket. It was meant to be a straightforward online transactions as the first option itself is an adult ticket. I had not added any extra whatsoever. This occurred same morning around 11:25am. I immediately noticed that the final receipt came with additional full Family ticket and tickets for Edge for the entire family.. SOMETHING that I had not purchased. I tried ringing them immediately multiple times with no response. I emailed them immediately at 11:32am as I was shocked about this transaction.
We visited the Ticket office after a few hours and explained the situation to the team member. He politely handed us a business card stating they will look in to it. No further explanation!
I am receiving an email this morning that the tickets are non refundable and there is nothing they can do for me. We live in Adelaide and to return there this year is unlikely. You would not expect this attitude from such a large organisation and not in these times. I have emailed them again with less hope now and will look into further actions as this is plain and clear wrong.
I wanted to alert people here to be mindful of this when they make online purchase with Eureka Skydeck.
Thank you.

This is good way to get a 360 degree bird's eye view of the city and you can spot all of the big landmarks from this vantage point. There are also a couple of outside viewing platforms. It is a good way to kill an hour and a good introduction to Melbourne. We also opted to pay extra to go into the Edge, which is a completely perspex box (including the floor!) that extends out from the side of the building. There is the opportunity to buy snacks/drinks at the top and there is a gift shop, as well as Australia's highest post box (with postcards and stamps available from the gift shop).

88 floors in 38 seconds in the elevator, woohoo what a trip, up and down. really enjoyed our trip up the tower and managed to pick a good day to look over the city at sunset, pretty spectacular, watching others walk the plank with VR glasses on is also entertaining. Staff were friendly, nice to deal with and very "covid" aware which was nice to see.
Could do with a few more quality trinkets in the ground floor gift shop as most of the stuff is cheap foreign rubbish. we would have brought some souvenirs if there had been something worth buying.

Melbourne Skydeck is a must for travelers in the city. The first exciting part is going up to the 88th floor in the elevator in less than a minute.
I strongly suggest being there around 4:30 pm and booking the Edge view deck before sunset. It takes around 30 minutes to wait for your turn to be in the Edge view deck, so you can utilize the time watching the magnificent city from above. I had the Edge view after sunset, and it does not look so good in the picture, but the city lights are an attraction while you're at the Edge.
The suggested time I have is because you can compare the Melbourne aura during the day and during sunset, and then in the early evening when the city lights radiate the place.

Amazing views over Melbourne. Super fast lift takes you straight to the 88th floor, viewfinders all the way around the 360 deck so you know what you are looking at, good cafe so you can enjoy a coffee while taking in the views. Outside viewing deck. Must be done!

I was in Melbourne for work, and on my last day I had some spare time, so this was one of the ways I filled it. I chose the full package because I thought I might as well try everything they had to offer.
I was excited to see the city from so high up, and that didn’t disappoint. The views were fantastic, with a small outside viewing platform (with criss-crossed wire for safety). I was able to get some great photos while I was there, both on my phone and full-frame camera.
The Edge was an enjoyable experience - it was fun when the box moved out from the building, and when the smart glass surrounding you suddenly turns clear. There are a lot of clearly fake sound effects, designed to make people think it’s a bit more clunky and dangerous that it actually is.
The Virtual Reality offering was embarrassing, however, and I feel I completely wasted my money on that. When you first enter the building you’re shown into a pod, and a headset and headphones are put onto you. The first one I tried was faulty - there was audio but no image. The staff mentioned it happens a lot, and that some people sit there for the whole 11-minute experience without seeing anything before mentioning it. When I was moved into a different pod I discovered I hadn’t really been missing anything anyway. The video resolution was awful. I have a Meta Quest 3 VR headset myself, and I was expecting from the marketing that the quality would be at least as good as that. It was actually worse than I used to get just using my phone with a Google Cardboard, about seven years ago. I toyed with the idea of just taking off the headset part-way through - it was that bad - but I decided I’d hang on in case it got better. Spoiler alert: it didn’t.
There is a second VR experience available when you get upstairs - a plank-walking experience. I thought it had to be an improvement on the one downstairs, so decided to give it a go. You place the headset on, then walk onto a physical plank. If you have tried Richie’s Plank Experience you’re familiar with the idea. The problem here was not just the exceptionally low-detail graphics (the standalone version of Richie’s, without using the power of a PC, is far more detailed), but that the laptop they were using clearly wasn’t up to the job. The content that plays as you ride a zip-wire through the city was so jittery and staccato that I actually felt sick. It’s not meant to be like that. When I told the person running it how bad it was, he was already fully aware. This is not a free experience, and is absolutely not fit for purpose.
All-in-all I’d recommend visiting the Skydeck but, as other people have already said, don’t pay extra for the packages - they’re really not worth the money. It wouldn’t surprise me if the VR experiences are single-handedly putting people off the technology as a whole. If that was my only experience of VR I certainly wouldn’t be buying a headset any time soon. Thankfully it isn’t, and I know how good it can be.
I would have given Skydeck five stars on its own, but I struggle to give the VR experiences even one star and they really have made me feel like I was a little ripped off. That’s why I’ve given the whole experience three stars.

We bought the Skydeck + VR experience. They have a new “Everest” VR experience which my wife found disappointing. I did the Melbourne film which was good.
We then went up to the Skydeck about 45 minutes before sunset. Queues were minimal to go up to level 88 and we stayed for just over an hour watching the city lights get brighter as it got dark.
There are telescopes around the edge fixed on certain landmarks, in a kaleidoscope form, that helped to pinpoint certain buildings etc.
When we entered there is a notice giving you an indication of the visibility at the top. We found the actual visibility to be better than the notice, but I guess that depends on whether it is improving or decreasing.

Yes, this is touristy, but the view is nonetheless amazing. The Melbourne Skydeck is at the top floor of a skyscraper downtown Melbourne and provides a commanding view of all of Melbourne. Do you need to pay to do the VR simulation? Up to you (we didn’t). Do you need to pay to experience the Edge (a cubic glass protrusion from the building? Up to you (we didn’t). That being said, the views really are incredible. We took advantage of a promo deal where if you come back within 36 hours of your first visit, you get a seriously discounted readmission price. This way, we were able to experience the views from the Skydeck during the day and at night, which provide different perspectives on the city.

This is an absolute must do in Melbourne. But id recommend going up late in the afternoon so you get to see the view in daylight, sunset and the night view. Moderately priced with concession deals. Super friendly staff and a FANTASTIC view !!!!!!

Magnificent view, the best in Melbourne. it allows you to watch the city in 360 degrees. There is one thing though: I bought a fairly expensive ticket to go to the Edge and I was deeply disappointed. First of all, it didn't last long; Secondly, they forced me to pay A$14 for a single photo taken in a hurry since you can't use phones inside. They tell you it's in 4K but in reality it's grainy. Finally, the Edge is not facing the CBD but towards St Kilda, so I advise everyone not to buy it as you can't see anything and it is also expensive.

What do you expect to see with the option of "Entrance to the Edge?"
Written 28 April 2019
The Edge is probably overated it is a part of the building that juts out over the main part. Obviously you only see one direction and I thought the views from the main deck were more than enough. There are special offers on for Skydeck linking it with Seaworld or other places with reduced entrance cost.
