Chilly viewer of the parade of the penguins!
Take whatever jacket you are planning on bringing, AND BRING ANOTHER ONE! It is SO windy and brisk on Phillip Island. The wind was incredible walking around the point before the sun went down and made it a surreal experience, but sitting and waiting for the penguins at dusk and in the dark was COLD! We stopped at multiple sites and the koala conservation was a great experience. You self-guide walk along risen pathways and find/spot the sleeping koala's up in the trees. We also got to see wallabies and kangaroos. This was an incredibly gorgeous location, very special tour, I just wish I'd brought a snack and a heavier jacket. Be smarter than me :)

Well worth the visit. in the daytime you can see their burrows all over the hillside.
The information provided on the night was very interesting. Thousands of wee penguins came ashore that night and we followed them on the way to their burrows afterwards. Very cute. Lucky the weather played its part because being July, it was hit and miss.

A relaxing boat ride in a tranquil setting
Ton was our guide and he was so knowledgeable about the plants and animals on the Ornamental lake. It was a miserable cold and rainy day but my friend and I were given a waterproof blanket and umbrellas to keep us warm and dry, which made the experience very enjoyable in the end. It was relaxing and so worthwhile. Highly recommend.

        Not to be missed
Terrific experience with this tour operator. Our bus driver's conversation with us was engaging with his many firsthand experiences about the area, and it sounded like he really enjoyed his work. Not boring at all! Comfortable and safe ride. I was in Melbourne November 28, 2019 and am so happy I stayed an extra day to take this tour. It was exciting to see koalas "on their level," right in the treetops with them. Cannot say enough about the Penguin Parade--that experience was awe-inspiring for this nature lover--make sure you have a heavy jacket!--not to be missed if you're in this part of the world.

Good tour of sovereign hill but time wasted at ballarat
Coach pick up at various hotel to take you to central departure at federation square to change coach for the various tours.couch journey westward with tour guide giving info re the gold rush on the way with DVD description of the attractions and a rough guide to the various things to see.The coach tour around Ballarat was about 15 mins plus a stop for 10 mins for toilet break was a bit of a time waste and reduced your time to enjoy and explore sovereign hill.arrival at sovereign hill around 11.00 and scheduled departure at 15.45. Only gives you 4 hrs 45 to explore and enjoy the attraction and the gold museum.mine tour at 7.5$ was good and the various demonstration were excellent. we went strait to sovereign hill but others did the wildlife trip which reduced their time at sovereign hill by an hour plus.in short it was a great place to go and enjoy the step back in time, only let down by the time wasted touring Ballarat.

        Nice tour
Good value. especially if you don’t feel like renting a car a driving long distances. Being able to sleep most of the way made it a much better experience for me.

        Excellent half day trip
We got picked up at 730 am. First stop at the forest Park with a hot tea and vegemite plus crackers. Adrian is our guide, excellent guy with lots of knowledge and very pleasant. The train ride is for 30 minutes, great way to pass through the hills with a gorgeous view. The last stop is at small town called sassafras where you should get a nice ice cream from a small shop operated by excellent chap called Mark.

An amazing, unforgettable experience on Phillip Island!
I enjoyed every moment of this day tour to see Phillip Island and the Penguin Parade. Deb, our bus driver and guide, made the entire trip very pleasant and told us lots of interesting information about everything we were seeing along the drive. We had a little extra time, so she even took a short detour to show us a pretty surf beach! The tour itself was really fun- Warrook Farm and the Koala Center were both nice, and seeing the Penguin Parade was an amazing experience that was absolutely worth it! The bus itself was comfortable and had USB ports and WiFi, which were added bonuses. Overall, it was a fantastic day and I would absolutely recommend this tour!

        Amazing value and service
High class very comfortable coach to make the drive comfortable including wonderful, I retesting, and helpful communication and narration by the driver Suzi. There was also a movie played for the night drive back to the city. Well worth the money for the quality of the tour, service, and the many stops that are inclusive in the price. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an afternoon and evening activity out of Melbourne.

Puff and penguin. Long day tour
We got picked up at 7 am and back to hotel at 1 am. It's was a long day, however is was brilliant. The puffing Billy morning was fun, and included a 30 minute journey on a proper old fashion steam train. Few other stops which were all good. Coach was clean and comfortable, the driver Dane was helpful and knowledgeable. Great morning out. Get food in the bakery in the last stop. Food was brilliant and freshly made. We then transferred to penguin parade. Dave.V. Was the driver, he was again knowledgeable and had a clean passion for animals. All the stops were brilliant. And the drive on the roads in Phillips island showed loads of wildlife. We then upgraded to under ground for penguin parade, which was worth every penny. However I think they could do with some more signage asking people to be quiet. Overall. Along day, but really enjoyed it.

        Fantastic driver and tour guide!
Took the Sovereign Hill tour today and had the best driver and guide. Adrian was fantastic with his knowledge and passion for his job. It made the day with his tidbits of local history. We will definitely book with Grayline again. Best value and the very best day. Thank you!

        Half day tour Puffin Billy
So glad I did this. A great way to spend a morning. Tour guide Adrian shared lots of interesting facts and information. Really enjoyed the tea break, billy can, cakes and first taste of Vegemite! Guards, Station Master and volunteers were really helpful with lots of photo opportunities with Puffing Billy. I had a great time and would recommend this tour for all ages. Thank you Adrian!

Visiting the 12 Apostles is amazing but it felt like the Last Supper! The guide talked the ENTIRE time and we had way too many bathroom breaks. What’s wrong with the bus toilet? Almost every stop had a public bathroom which was strongly recommended by the guide. We would rather have more time at the planned venue than random bathroom and lookout view stops. The trip was LONG.

Hi Noandle, Thank you for your review. We understand that the needs and expectations of our guests can differ and we appreciate your honest feedback. The Great Ocean Road tour is a long day which is why we have designated stops in the itinerary. These stops are planned and form an essential part of enjoying the region. Covering approximately 600km in distance, the 12-hour tour is a fantastic option for time-poor visitors and takes the stress out of planning the day or opting to self-drive. Thank you for travelling with Gray Line. Best wishes, Camilla

Hi bolt1949! We really appreciate your review and thank you for the 5 stars! The Great Ocean Road IS a big day which some may not realise (12 hours / 600kms). Our premium coach is ideal for this tour offering onboard luxuries like reclining seats, restroom, overhead storage, USB and WiFi to name a few. SEE MORE (our seat height is the roof height of a mini bus) being higher up in our coach to admire the coastal scenery and with up to 65% more leg room, you are also ensured more comfort than a mini bus. We hope to have you back onboard for another tour! All the best, Jane

Was a bit apprehensive about taking such a long trip however day went very smoothly and we enjoyed it very much. Dave.V was our driver and entertained us all with his informative commentary and humour. Dave was very professional and ensured we all maintained safety standards by reminding us of seat belts etc. We had the double decker bus so fantastic views and felt very safe with Dave’s driving. Well done on keeping up your enthusiasm on such a long day. Tour was well paced and would definitely recommend it.

Hi 832glennc! So great to receive your feedback! It is indeed a long day - 12 hours and 600kms journey which our premium coaches, purposely built for sightseeing, are ideal for. As you have experienced, onboard luxuries include a restroom, reclining seats, overhead storage, USB, WiFi and more legroom. You also get to SEE MORE of the scenery being much higher up; our coach floor height is about the roof height of mini buses. A key detail handy to know for this tour! We greatly appreciate your positive review and 5 star rating :D Sincerely, Jane

Hi Naresh1936! We are so delighted to read your comments about the coach comfort! Not everyone realises that the Great Ocean Road is a 12 hour day / 600kms journey so being comfortable during the trip is a key consideration. Our premium coaches are thoughtfully and specifically built for sightseeing offering onboard mod-cons such as restroom, reclining seats, up to 65% more legroom, USB, WiFi, overhead storage and powerful climate control to name a few! Additionally, being a high deck, you SEE MORE of the stunning coastal scenery in comparison to a mini bus with its restricted viewing. Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. Please travel with us again soon. Best wishes, Jane

This day trip is a must for those who would want to feel the pristine turquoise southern ocean and the wonderful naturally sculpted cliff formations. The driver and the guide himself, did an amazing job both organizing the tourists between stops and providing informative commentary with historic perspectives all along. The ride is also very comfortable to sit back and relax on the scenic views out the window. In the bus or outside taking a walk, the landscape never stops to amaze you. You would get ample time to visit the beaches, the small fishing towns and the popular viewpoints. The way back drive takes you through some of the great fields and a glimpse of Melbourne City over Sunset. I am grateful to Gray Line, to have accommodated my booking at the last minute and even arrange for picking me up and dropping me off at Glen Waverley for I was the only one from out there. The Great Ocean Road is definitely worth a road trip.

What a great day we had with Richard our driver/tour guide, he's knowledge and great sense of humour kept us all engaged and laughing most of the way i',m still not totally convinced about the number of Koala's he was able to spot in the trees along the way, but will take his word for it. he made a long day trip most enjoyable.
