Join us for a day tour exploring Tasmania's deep South, where the apples are crisp, the salmon fresh, and the trees ancient. Start in Huonville with a takeaway coffee and a scenic drive along the Huon River, learning about the region's apple orchards, craft cider, wine, and salmon production. Next, spend two hours at the Tahune Airwalk. Stroll 50 meters up in the tree canopy, cross swinging bridges over the Huon River, or enjoy a tranquil riverbank walk among ancient Huon pines. After lunch, explore Australia's largest dolomite cave at Hastings Caves. Your guided tour will unveil intricate formations and the region's geological history. Keep an eye out for wildlife like platypus, quolls, and pademelons. On our way back to Hobart, we'll stop at one of the local cider producers where you can enjoy a tasting paddle with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options or indulge in a complimentary mouth-watering apple pie (seasonal). It's the perfect way to wrap up a day of exploring.

Tassie Tours!! You guys are the best! We booked last minute for Bruny Island and it did not disappoint !! We had the best day, seeing all the cool spots Bruny Island has to offer and with alot of laughs along the way. Thankyou Andrew, for being the best tour guide! Best sense of humour. Showing us all the cool spots and little hidden gems too! Thankyou to Patrick, for giving us a rundown of what the tour will involve, at the harbour tent and making purchasing the tickets, super easy. Will definitely be recommending you guys, to family and friends and whoever asks for recommendations, for a great tassie tour! Thanks a bunch! Matt & Mel 😎

        Loved Tassie Tours
We booked Tassie Tours as a shore excursion off of our cruise. We elected the highlights tour. It was wonderful. Tassie Tours was very communicative both via text and email. We knew exactly were to meet our guide. The highlight of the tour was Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and Mt Wellington. Our driver was informative along the way and did a great job. We would MOST definitely recommend Tassie Tours!

        Fun Filled Adventure
Our tour was the perfect size, only 15 people. Our guide and driver, Mark was amazing. In addition to being knowledgeable on all things Tassie, Mark had a wonderful banter with our group and a great sense of humor. We went up Mount Wellington. It was so cold there was snow up there. We spent time in Richmond. Mark gave us a thorough history of Tasmania during our travels. I would highly recommend this tour.

The best Hobart tour itinerary I could find under 9 hours
Many thanks to our local Hobart driver/guide Adam for quickly adjusting the tour itinerary according to the weather. As a result, we were able to enjoy 20-25 minutes of clear weather to take some amazing photos from atop chilly Mount Wellington (Kunanyi) before stormy rain clouds rolled in and made visibility extremely poor. Richmond was a relaxing colonial village to visit, with nice places to try Tasmanian seafood pies and coffee but with (as a warning to cruise ship passengers hoping to buy last-minute Australian souvenirs) no real stores for tourist gifts. A good place for lunch but not a must-visit town. Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary turned out to be a pleasant surprise; although you have to pay extra to get in, you do get a discount by being with Tassie Tours Tasmania. And the kangaroo interactions were fantastic, especially if you catch them before they've had their fill of tourist-fed food. The wombat and Tasmanian devil were very cute too! This was the best Hobart tour itinerary I could find under 9 hours. (Other tours I was interested in lasted 10 hours or longer, which our cruise ship could not accomodate.)

        Great tour!
We had a fantastic day, beautiful views, so much history and the weather was perfect! Mark, our tour guide was great! We learned a lot about Hobart and Port Arthur from him. As I was about to review our trip, I noticed a big discrepancy in price between price on the Tassie Tour website (return $95.00 pp) and on Trip Adviser (return $61.00 pp). Why is that?

A great way to get to and from Hobart, with some retail therapy en route!
The shuttle service worked very well, and the timings were spot on. 4 stops en route to Hobart - bakery, lookout point, chocolate foundry and lavender farm - all good. Arrived in Hobart at 12, as advertised. Plenty of time - 4 hours - to see Port Arthur site, do harbour cruise, have lunch etc. 21 of us on full minibus that was not comfortable, and the window next to my seat did not close properly. The driver knew the roads well and drove very speedily! His taste in music was not ideal either!

Nathan was amazing!!! Had few tours in Tasmania but he was definitely the best tour guide we had. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. He knows his stuff. Gave us all tips and tricks to make the best out of the tour. Tahune air walk was an amazing experience. The cave was definitely the best part of the tour. We got to go inside a very cold 600 millions years old cave and photography was allowed. Stopped by a apple cider place where we were served delicious apple pie and ice cream for free! The apple cider tasting paddle was very affordable and tasty. Highly recommend.

I did the tour on a Sunday and Tassie Tours were flexible about pickups, as I was based in Kingston, so it meant I didn't have to rush out the door to head into the CBD. On the dot of 8am the bus arrived at Kingston Hotel. Very easy (They also do pick ups in Hobart CBD.)

We stopped in Huonville to pick up lunch and a coffee for those who wanted it. Our d

It was around a 45 minute drive to the Tahune Airwalk - 29 km from Geeveston. We had a great time overlooking the forest canopy from the Tahune Walkway.

Our next stop was Hastings Caves, Australia’s largest dolomite cave. Parks and Wildlife guides conduct tours into the cave. We spent around 45 minutes underground with our guide and saw plenty of stalactites, stalagmites, columns, shawls, straws, and very unusual helictites.

Our final stop was at Frank's Cider Bar and Cafe. We enjoyed a tasting paddle of ciders and a delicious slice of apple pie and ice cream.

I can't believe how quickly the day went. We had a busy schedule but it wasn't rushed. We had a great bus driver and guide, Bunzy. He gave us information as we were travelling, but not too much that it was overwhelming.

On the bus our group was a mixture of visitors from America, Italy (actually living in Adelaide), the Gold Coast, Hobart, Columbia and me. It was a lovely group. The bus seats 16 passengers so they are not massive tours.

The communication leading up to Sunday was excellent. And its nice to be able to look out and take in the scenery while someone else is doing the driving.

      I highly recommend Tassie Tours.

Thank you so much for the fantastic review Jennifer! We're thrilled to hear you had a great experience and it sounds like Bunzy made the journey all the more enjoyable with his knowledge about the local area. It's great to hear you loved the stunning views from Tahune Airwalk and exploring Hastings Caves, with its impressive stalactites and more! The cider and apple pie at Frank’s really are the perfect way to wrap up the day, and we're glad they added that final touch. The photos you captured are stunning and we hope when you made some great memories. Thanks again for recommending Tassie Tours. We hope to see you again soon for more Tasmanian adventures! A great day tour visiting Tahune airwalk and surrounds, Hastings Caves and then a stop off at Franks Cider for a tasting paddle and apple pie.
The walks around Tahune were great and easy to do (I had a minor knee injury and could still do the Airwalk and swinging bridges). The effetcs of the 2019 fires are still prevalent, but there was a lot of life starting to grow back.
The cave was amazing - it did have a lot of stairs but the tour thorugh was at a leisurely pace.
Our guide (Jody) was really knowledgable of the area and surrounds.
All in all a great day - beautiful places to visit that weren't too crowded.

This is a really interesting tour. It's good that numbers are limited. I've visited caves at Jenolan and Margaret River and I think Hastings takes the cake. The Tahune Forest airwalk was magnificent even though it was pouring rain. All our guides were informative, knowledgeable and entertaining. I thoroughly recommend!!
