About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 616dorothyh0 contributionsA fabulous tour! This was an outstanding day! Our knowledgeable and professional guide, Ben, shared so much information about Tasmania. His passion for the land, stories about the resilient people and sustainability was evident throughout the day. The Tall Trees walk in the old growth forest, culminating at Russell Falls was amazing. Lunch at Salmon Ponds was reasonable and delicious. The afternoon at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary gave our group ample time to see the animals and birds, and to walk among the kangaroos. Throughout the day Ben offered suggestions to add to the itinerary; his timing and ability to keep the group on track allowed time at the end for a stop in Richmond and a drive through Salamanca. This tour offered tremendous value for the cost and I highly recommend this personable, passionate and extremely knowledgeable guide!Written 28 October 2024
- L3363SGanthonym0 contributionsWould. Not. Change. A. Thing. We were looking for a tour that would allow our group of four to see as much of Tas that we could cram in. I found Adventure Trails Tasmania and liked the sound of the flexibility Ben was happy to incorporate. We were after mornings of bushwalks and hikes, and afternoons sampling food, wineries and distilleries… no problem, said Ben. We were keen to experience the diversity of nature SE Tas provided… no problem, said Ben. We were keen to sample whiskies and gins, Pinots and Sav Bs… no problem, said Ben. He provided a range of options and we formed a plan over email - clear, responsive, accommodating. The actual experience? Even better. You will not meet a more knowledgeable guide, who will adjust and tweak daily based on needs of his guests. He shares of himself and his experiences, seems to have an infinite number of contacts who know and respect him. He is thoughtful, and quite frankly, goes well beyond what any tourist could reasonably expect. We felt valued, we felt appreciated and we felt like friends. Ben Andrews, Adventure Trails Tasmania. 7 out of 5 stars.Written 13 April 2024
- alexandermD9295DU0 contributionsPrviate Tour Hobart to Tasman PeninsulaKudos to Adventure Trails, Tasmania and Super Guide Ben! Guide Ben is a well traveled, professional and talented history buff that excuded fascinating and passionate knowledge of Tasmania, its history past & present, its peoples, politics and grand stories as he narrated our day's journey and routinely oriented us on a map to our delight! Our journey brought us to the beautiful Stewart Beach and surrounds, The Tessalated Beach showing off its geologic glory, and the resplendent Remarkable Cave to name just three! We enjoyed driving thru Doo Town and were entertained by all of homes "Doo labels." "Doo come back!" We visited the Port Arthur Historic Site where we solemnly remembered the stark history of the Convict Transportation Era. Upon arriving back to Hobart we followed up our Convict Transportation History with a visit to the Female Factory.... We ended our wonderful day of exploring and learning with Ben's talk about some of the more colorful men and women of early Hobart days....and the oldest on the buildings on the strand that still broadcast their names. Guide Ben brought Tasmania alive for us....via his expert delivery of its history, people and places ....we depart Tasmania feeling that we now know Her and love Her! Visiting Tasmania?....Go with Adventure Trails Tasmania and Ben!!! Kudos to Adventure Trails Tasmania and Super Guide Ben!Written 10 March 2024
- 138chuckg0 contributionsGreat Day in TasmaniaBen was an outstanding tour guide. The combination of his history of the island and the city, combined with his excellent knowledge of where to go to see the best of the area, created an outstanding visit and day. We always book private guides as we travel, and Ben ranks among the best. Our only regret -- we wish we had more time! We can't wait to return to Hobart and explore the city and region further ... and Ben will be the first person we call.Written 28 December 2023
- J5398UUmarcusm0 contributionsLocal guide with deep connection to the islandWe very much enjoyed a day trip with Ben, who has a very thorough knowledge and close connection to Bruny Island. Would highly recommend Ben and this tour - the morning tea and the location he chose for it is a real highlight.Written 19 December 2023
- NelsonK_130 contributionsBEST LOCAL TOUR GUIDE FOR BRUNY ISLANDBen is the best local tour guide that you can find for Bruny Island, he grew in the Island and showed us the best kept secrets of Bruny Island, places for surfing, fishing and the best views. (where he used to go with his dad, and where he takes his kids now) We also went to the usual places, the neck, hiking, etc. Ben is really easy-going with an excellent sense of humor. He was very accommodating to our requests and he knows EVERYONE in the Island. He got us a private tour of the Bruny Lighthouse for 20 minutes with the guard, they even took us to the top of the lighthouse and we were able to get outside at the top of the lighthouse to see the views and feel the strong winds. We had a lovely lunch at the Winery. If you want a private tour of Bruny Island or any part of Tasmania we highly recommend Ben, you cannot go wrong with him. I wish there were more than 5 stars !!!!!Written 1 April 2023
- 821karynd0 contributionsMemorable, excellent tourGlowing praise for this tour provider. Ben Andrews of Adventure Trails Tasmania provided us with 5 days of customized, personalized tours for 6 of us Canadians recently in Tasmania. He was an expert at anticipating our needs and wants, making our experience a one of a kind, memorable event in our trip down under. Our time with Ben was the highlight of our 31 day trip. He was efficient, organized, knowledgeable and most of all thoughtful of his guests. His bus was extremely well maintained and immaculate. Ben was a thoughtful host and incredible ambassador for Tasmanian culture and tourism. He packed in all the highlights of the South Island he could in the time we had. We are extremely grateful for this experience. Amazing value for the money!!!Written 28 March 2023
- Delliott630 contributions5-Day Tasmania TourWe are three Canadian couples. We hired Ben to guide us on 5 day tours out of Hobart. From the time Ben picked us up from the airport to the point he dropped us back off for our return flight, Ben was amazing. He coordinated our arrival with the rental house owner and stocked our kitchen with wine, fruit, cheese and chocolate. His knowledge of nature, culture, and history combined with his passion for sharing his experience provided us with an unbeatable and unforgettable vacation. Ben tailored each day based on our preferences and his extensive knowledge of Tasmania. Every day included special "Ben" touches, from homemade picnic lunches, to great cafes and restaurants, to surprise hikes, as well as connections to other fascinating people who could enhance a tour or experience. Ben was always ready to add or change a destination based on time or weather conditions. We have taken private tours in many places around the world, and we all agreed that Ben was the best guide we have ever met.Written 27 March 2023
- TracyH4270 contributionsIdyllic time on Bruny IslandWe did an overnight tour on Bruny Island with Ben/Adventure Trails Tasmania, and it was fantastic in every respect. Ben communicated with us extensively before our tour to make sure we'd see everything we wanted to see and to get an idea of how we wanted to pace our time on Bruny Island. He planned a complete range of experiences for us, from oysters to trails to time on the coast. He was a pleasure to work with and a complete delight as a tour guide and traveling companion. Ben is knowledgeable and efficient and thoughtful--truly everything about our time on Bruny was top notch. I can't recommend this experience highly enough.Written 27 January 2023
