One Fabulous Day of Family History, thanks to Tours around Tasmania
Jess from Tours around Tasmania helped me put together a private tour for my eight cousins and me, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of our ancestors arrival in Hobart. I had some ideas, but she made our day happen. I am in awe of Jess' enthusiasm, the way nothing was too much trouble for her, and how she went 'above-and-beyond' my expectations, even finding the location of old family gravestones for us to visit. She made sure everything I wanted us to see and do in the tour was included in the itinerary. Then she found Gerard and a clean and comfortable bus to transport us around Hobart, following in our ancestors' footsteps for the day. Gerard kept us to the itinerary, entertaining us along the way with wonderful stories about times past. Thank you, Jess and Gerard, for a fabulous day.

Beauty and peace on the edge of town.
If you're going to Burnie, a "must=see" while you are there are the Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens on the outskirts of the city. These gardens are curated and maintained by volunteers, and they have done a magnificent job. Such a beautiful, peaceful spot, with a lovely cafe to enjoy refreshments after your tour of the gardens. Highly recommended!

Great local tour company that takes you all over the state with wonderful employees
Tours Around Tasmania provided all we needed and then some. We booked a private tour to Mount Field National Park and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and it was wonderful. Jess helped arrange the tour and also offered great information and suggestions for dining and other activities in Tasmania. Jo was our guide and driver and she couldn’t have been better. Both ladies are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Tasmania and everything it has to offer. No complaints at all. Next time we’re in Tasmania we’ll definitely be using Tours Around Tasmania!

This is a great tour, with a great tour company. Starting off with a text message the day before from our driver Gerard confirming the booking and time I would be picked up from my hotel, I knew I'd be dealing with a thoughtful professional. After an informative and entertaining drive I prepared myself to face a life long fear of going underground. My fears quickly slipped away as the group was guided through this awe inspiring cave. After lunch I faced another fear and walked above the treetops. A reasonable level of fitness and mobility along with a comfortable pair of boots is recommended. Take a jumper and some water.

The tour was beautiful. The guide was clear about meeting pint and on time. He was funny and informative and easy conversations. THe Hasting Cave was spectacular and being 9degrees C it was pleasant especially on a hot summer day. The hot springs were clean and had a changing room, the water temp was 28 degrees C. The airwalk at Tahune Adventures was spectacular being high up in the trees seeinig the extensive damage of 2019 fires. I brought my own lunch, but the rest of the group had burgers at a restaurant that was over an hour in waiting. Great scenery on the drive. I was happy I wasn't driving since it was a long ways.

This trip was excellent value, pickup from our hotel in a clean minibus, although we were quite squeezed in to the seats. If you are a large person you might be uncomfortable. Hastings caves was wonderful, but disappointing to find the thermal pool and walking tracks closed. Tahune Airwalk scenery quite sparse due to fires a few years ago, but the swinging bridge walk was fun. Keeley was a great guide and gave us lots of information and background on the places we visited. Recommend if you are reasonably fit and healthy.

Thank you Karen we really appreciate your feedback. Unfortunately the pool was closed for the week that you visited due to some flooding and environmental check which were needed. We normally give guests a heads up when we know about this beforehand in case they wish to cancel their tour. We are glad you still had a great time exploring the region.

We went with the amazing and friendly tour guide Huw, he did such an amazing job at taking us around the Huon Valley, down to Hastings Caves and to the Tahune Airwalk. The day was very well planned out and executed amazingly, we really felt like we were able to get the full experience in the day!

I highly recommend doing both Hastings caves and Tahune Airwalk. Such a beautiful experience walking through the caves and walking among the trees!

Looking forward to doing more tours with these guys! I highly recommend.

We absolutely loved the caves! Our tour guide was brilliant...loved hearing all his stories and sharing his vast knowledge of the region.
The Tahune Walks , Hang Gliding and Thermal Pools were enjoyable.Such a beautiful area!
      Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.
We were a bit squishy in the downsized bus, our only gripe for the day
Altogether the day was really great and we'd definitely book a tour with them again.

We had a Brilliant Day .... we were collected exactly on time by Gary and then headed through stunning countryside towards Hastings Cave. At the natural springs swimming pool we had morning tea before starting out on our cave tour. A cave specialist took us through the Caves which were amazing. We heard about the history of the formation of the Caves and visited many areas including the incredible "Cathedral". Absolutely amazing! Following the Caves and a pub lunch we went through the Huon Valley to the Airwalk. A bonus here was the knowledge of our guide Gary on the trees .... pointing out various species and particularly Huon Pines. We had a Great Day!

Starting the day with a swim before diving deep into ancient caves, followed by some lunch at an awesome pub! Lastly we went on a great walk through regrowing bushland after the bushfires!

An amazing day filled with a variety of experiences. The highlight was the Tahune AirWalk and Swinging bridges walk. Our driver/ guide Huw was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions, as well as the continuous commentary, as we travelled through different areas. Excellent value for money.

Absolutely incredible day out. The caves were amazing - I've never seen caves like it. Throughout the day we went to numerous areas and saw beautiful views and we managed to see so much in one day. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and welcoming - easy to speak to and ask questions.

Hi Annabelle. Thank you for your wonderful review. We love the natural beauty of the Hastings Caves and Huon Valley. It is an area that should be much more popular but is still a hidden treasure. Come back soon!

The day tours really beat hiring a car to visit the same spots. Transport and any additional fees are covered and you also get a local commentary bringing valuable context and knowledge to the experience. The scenery is grand, spectacular and unique to Tasmania.Really fine food for and added cost.

Thank you Julian. We naturally agree with you that a guided tour beats self-driving. It is certainly more expensive however small group tours give you the opportunity to spend time with a local and learn about our unique island.
