    Very good customer service.
Our cruise ship docked at Hobart as we were no longer going to our original itinerary locations due to weather. We visited from regional WA, and never even considered going to Tasmania. This tour made it well worth it! Our guide was Paul, he was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. It was a truly amazing and memorable day seeing the summit of the mountain. Well priced and very convenient, loved getting to sit back and relax further. I would definitely recommend this trip, would’ve enjoyed the city loop if we had more time.

We had one day stay in Hobart from the cruise. Although the weather is not as good, our driver and guide Paul tried his best to make us all had fun during the trip. Professional driving as well.

    Perfect start to any day
Tony was such an amazing guide/bus driver with class jokes!! It was quite cloudy when up there but was still 100% worth it. If you’re in Hobart this trip is a must do!!

Everything I was hoping for - even the cloud parted after we arrived at the summit.
Really well organised tour. Informative, professional, comfortable. Bus was in great condition, driver Paul was extremely knowledgeable about the area, and a great driver. Highly recommend it.

    Great trip - highly recommended
We managed to book this trip after our cruise was diverted from Mystery Island, to a different "island". We have done the hop on hop off before and decided to take the Mt Wellington trip. Our driver Paul was funny and informative ( despite his microphone giving grief). Seats were a little cramped and I hit my head more than once on the low roof - despite this we had a great view from the back seat window and Paul made sure we all equally got to see the sites, both up and down the mountain. It clouded in just near the top ( can't plan the weather) but it was an interesting walk around, climbing to the trig station and using the "loo with a view".

Good, but could be better with more buses that run longer
The hop-on/hop-off buses do make it much easier to get around and see the cities and sights. There are two problems is using this travel method: 1. the buses do not complete their route for up to hour meaning that you may have to wait awhile for the next bus which is not good when you only have a short time there and 2. the buses stop traveling too early in the day (3 PM at one city and 5 PM at another we did) so you always need to stop touring before that last bus.

    convenient and educational!
probably the most convenient transport option for point-to-point hikes on kunanyi/Mt Wellington. ubers will drop you off, but are unlikely to bother trekking up the mountain to pick you up afterwards. additionally, bus drivers are very knowledgeable and friendly, and happy to answer all questions & show you photos of tassie specials like tiger snakes & the southern lights.

A great outing to Kunanyi/Mt Wellington
There was a dark cloud over the mountain making it look very ominous but as luck had it, Greg our guide said that it was the best day for it. He was right, we had stunning views. It was cool and very windy, the information center was very interesting and a great place to escape the breeze. On the way up the mountain we stopped at a lookout where you can see the town of Kingston and the Derwent River, the views were amazing. I recommend this trip for those who don't like driving on winding roads or those who do not have access to a vehicle. Greg and the other guides are a wealth of information. There is a coffee shop on the way up but no food or drink at the top. There are, however, toilets and you also get a great view from them too. Excellent tour.

    Amazing experience and tour guide
Tour guide is amazing and knowledgable! Amazing tour with beautiful scenery. We went on a cloudy day in the morning and hardly could see anything but weather suddenly got clear on our way back. We love that experience :)

    Glad I didn’t drive.
Very enjoyable tour where the 2.5 hours flew by mainly due to the great views and informative but entertaining commentary by our driver Paul. Although we had a hire car, we were very pleased we chose the bus tour rather than self-drive. We discovered so much more about the history of Hobart, Mt Wellington and the surrounding area, as well as both us enjoying the scenery rather than watching for oncoming cars/buses on the narrow/winding road

Skip this one - Wander on your own
Coming from a cruise ship - this was not worth the price. Audio was through speakers which could not be heard on the upper level. The route was mildly interesting but not worth spending nearly an hour to see - better off staying in town. Also - purchased extension to Mt. Wellington - which turned out to be over 2 hrs - not how we wanted to spend the few hours we had in the port - just too long a ride.

Of course, you can't choose the weather and Mount Wellington is statistically in the clouds most of the time. But the bus ride up Mount Wellington is very entertaining, especially because of the driver. They explain the history of Tasmania and the infrastructure that was mostly built by British prisoners. They also stop for exciting encounters on the open road. We saw a Black Tiger Snake and an Echidna - very exciting.

This is a safe and easy way to visit Kunanyi. The driver Greg was so professional and helpful in advising me how to trek downhill to the Fern Tree. I had a one-way ticket only, but I bought another with the driver for a bit extra to take the bus to return from Fern Tree. The buses were very comfy. The driver Chris also was so friendly and passionate, he explained to me how to visit Silver Falls and come back to Fern Tree to return by the last bus of the day. It was an amazing day, with beautiful views, and great trekking!

We had a group of 8 who took the bus to the top of Mt Wellington to hike back down. The ride up was fantastic - our driver was great fun and very informative and we got to see an amazing part of the world. I highly recommend the trip.

The company was amazing and their tour guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable. The bus was immaculate and very warm. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone. Even though we did not see snow on that trip our tour guide tried to find a day during our stay that it may have happened.

Dear Debrah S, thank you for exploring kunanyi/Mt Wellington with us. We’re so pleased to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed the tour, including the warmth and comfort onboard the bus. While snow is more common at this time of year, it certainly can’t be guaranteed as the weather on the mountain can change so quickly at any time of year. Thank you so much for your review and recommendations. Hopefully you are able to make a return visit to see the snow another time! Louise V, kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus.

we went when Hobart below was shrouded in clouds, but the top of the mountain was all sunny and we were above the clouds, so that was a very nice view, like from an airplane.
The ride up was just a ride. The driver was describing and talking, but between the bus/road noise and the driver accent, I heard maybe 25% of his talk, so that part of the tour was not very good.

Booked the Kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus which took us to the pinnacle. Our driver was very lovely and very knowledgeable - he gave us a good running commentary on the way up. Once at the top we were provided with a walking trail map and bus timetable for our walk down the mountain. You also have the option of hopping off the bus at lower points and hiking up the mountain and if you change your mind and don’t want to do a walk you have the option of taking the bus back into the city. Definitely we’ll worth it. Thank you Kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer.

Fantastic experience with kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus. We did the One Way Tour and found the bus very comfortable, the tour guide exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful, and the experience itself would be one we'd definitely do again.
The guide took us to the top of kunanyi so we could enjoy the view and take photos and then brought us a little further down the mountain to where it was safe to start our walk down to Fern Tree. The views were breathtaking and the walk was well signposted and easy to follow.
I would highly recommend this experience to others.

It was a very nice experience. Of course also because of the nice weather! The bus driver was friendly and funny and told a lot of stories about the mountain and the area. But I wish those guides would consider more, that not every guest is native English speaking! So slow down the talking, and don’t expect everyone to understand jokes.
The bus was on time, but they didn’t provide me with a map in the bus, as promised in the confirming mail. The route downwards to Fern Tree was easy to find, though!
