Despite the long drive, Alex skillfully broke the journey into smaller segments, allowing us to visit additional attractions and capture stunning photos along the way. During the hike, Alex was incredibly considerate and responsible, ensuring everyone stayed on track, felt encouraged, and remained safe throughout the adventure. This thoughtful approach truly made the trip enjoyable and memorable. Highly recommended!Written 3 January 2025
- Otter3tc0 contributionsExcellentA mixture of adventure and relaxed scenic views. The pizza at devil’s corner is great. The road trip is long but good for people without carsickness to take rest and the roadside views. Alex, our tour guide also stops at multiple pit stops for toilet and photo taking opportunities. We walked to the Wineglass Bay lookout which was a great walk and amazing scenery on the way then breath taking views at the top. Then a picnic at Honeymoon Bay which was gorgeous. A stop at Kate's Berry Farm for the best ice cream ever, Richmond Bridge and Rosney Park lookout on the way back. A fabulous day with a great guide. I came to Tasmania for this tour specifically, and it was a treat experience! Alot of sight packed into a few hours, and in addition alot of information about the hsitory of Tasmania and specific sights. Alex was knowledgeable, friendly, funny and very kind! As a solo traveller, he made sure I felt included in the tour group and got to know everyone, catering to their individual needs as well as the overall group's needs. For example he dropped some of the other participants at the airport to make their flight, and found comfortable places for people who couldn't hike for long hours to await the rest of the group. Despite the heavy downpour of the rain Alex planned the itinerary very well so we could avoid heavy spells of rain and was very communicative. Thank you!

Our trip to Wineglass Bay & Freycinet was everything one could want in a tour.
Not only did we get to go on a fabulous journey to an incredible destination but,
our tour guide Alex was a superb host who was more than happy to go out of his way to ensure everyone was looked after and enjoyed the experience.
He is very polite, courteous, fun but also very knowledgeable of the local history and kept us all enthralled with his stories.
He kept my wife and I fully informed about pick up times, place and any possible complications that could arise due to the Hobart marathon that was happening.
We could not recommend Alex any higher, he is very, very good value and we would definitely recommend all our friends who want to visit Tasmania in the future to get on this very tour.

Alex(Alexandro) is a tour guide with great knowledge and experience highly recommend for everyone to attend. He drove very smoothly and every 30-40 minutes he would let us get out of the car to stretch and go to the bathroom. There are many stops on the way to the bay such as the famous bakery and the bridge in historic Richmond. If you book the shuttle bus to Richmond, it will cost aroud $30. It takes about 40 minutes to climb up to Wineglass Bay lookout point, which is very hard for me (people who do not exercise), but when you get to the top and see the view you will feel is worth it. On the way back Alex stopped at the Devil's Corner Cellar Door for us to have lunch and after that he stopped at the Kate’s Berry Farm. I bought a super delicious ice cream (super large), some chocolate and jam. Thank you Alex we enjoyed our day trip.

The destinations were actually pretty good but the guide's driving was absolutely diabolical. If you have ever felt just a tiny bit car sick you will definitely feel it driving with this Formula 1 tourism guide.
The bus itself is also very uncomfortable, feels like you're flying with Ryanair.
The tour itself is pretty much a glorified bus ride and the bus ride is long and very uncomfortable.

What a stunning place Tasmania is, and this one day tour from Hobart gave me a much greater idea of what’s out there beyond the city. Beautiful coastline, forests and mountains. Small settlements with so much history. Geology I can’t begin to understand. Wildlife in abundance. Alex, our tour guide, was very well informed, passionate about the places we visited and generous in sharing his extensive knowledge. Alex was also a lovely man, full of joy, considerate and thoughtful of the whole group. I thoroughly recommend the tour.

Thank you Stef for taking the time to write a review!
The island is indeed known for its breathtaking natural beauty, from the rugged coastline to the lush forests and majestic mountains. It’s wonderful to hear that your guide, Alex, enhanced the tour with his knowledge and passion for Tasmania’s rich history, geology, and wildlife. A thoughtful and joyful guide can truly make a great tour unforgettable.

This was a fantastic tour. Alex the tour operator is professional, experienced, knowledgeable and ensures each person is getting the most out of the tour.
The scenery is spectacular, the rest stops are at the right time and there is enough time at each point of interest to enjoy the moment.

Alex the guide was very nice, but the whole tour fell off the tracks, when there was low cloud and we could not view wineglass bay. After that it was chaos just visiting uninteresting beaches in the area, just filling in time until visiting the underwhelming ‘winery’ which basically charged you for everything and the food, which you had to buy, was ordinary, as was Kates berry farm; they both just try to sell you a product, no education, no effort to accommodate the group. And to top off an unexpiring day, Alex decides that the 4 oldest persons on the bus can walk a couple of blocks to their hotel, instead of dropping them off, which was the arrangement. This tour was not worth the money and just stunk - mainly because the bus was old and the air conditioning didn’t work properly!

Well, if I knew who you were I would address you by name in answering your review.
Let me start by saying that unfortunately the Tasmanian weather is not something any of us can control and it is disappointing when it does not align with our tour. But we do our best to make the day interesting, still visiting the sites we can see.
Most people enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the winery for lunch and our itinerary states that lunch is not included in the tour price. I’m also surprised as I don’t think I have ever received a negative remark about sampling sweets at Kates berry farm!
Now, while the bus is no longer in show-room condition I can assure you it is not old! It is my office and my livelihood. As such it is regularly serviced and cleaned thoroughly after every tour. The air conditioner works perfectly fine but it too was challenged by the Tasmanian weather as temperatures began to increase throughout the afternoon.
As for the four customers who chose to get off and walk to their hotel, they did so due to the inconvenience of Hobart’s one-way streets and traffic congestion that would have further delayed their drop-off by 15 minutes or more.
We always appreciate feedback from our visitors but it sounds like you were having as bad a day as the weather we encountered.
Kind regards
Alex (owner, operator, “very nice guide”)

You will not regret booking this tour. Alex is a great guide who takes his job and your safety seriously but you will also have a great laugh with him. Plenty of stops along the way to and from the hike which made the long drive easy to deal with. The day starts early and most of the group was asleep between stops both on the way there and back. It's a great way to cover a good portion of geography. Alex knows a lot about the area and was always pointing out wild life, stopping on the side of the road to let us get pics and telling us about the kangaroo we crossed paths with one our way back from the hike. It was my last day in Tasmania so I didn't pay too much attention to information he gave about other things to see but it is clear he has a passion for Tassie.

The tour was brilliant! Took in so many great sights and experiences including to Wine Glass Bay Lookout, Honeymoon Bay, Kates Berry Farm and Richmond. Alex was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable. He kept us to schedule throughout the day.
IGNORE the recent one star rating. My wife and I were on that tour and the person didn’t respond to a text the previous day (everyone else did) and didn’t respond to phone calls or texts on the morning - we waited but they never showed up.

What is probability of seeing wallabies or devils on this tour?
Written 6 July 2022
Hi, Unfortunately, you will not see any devils as they are more nocturnal so the best place to see one is at a wildlife park. As for wallabies it is possible but when we went we didn't see any.
