- steven s00Small Group tourGot to make friends on the mini bus and our driver was so friendly and had lots of good tips on the best things to see and what to avoid.. had a great day
- lovelytravels1300This tour slaps!Such a great experience. This is more than a shuttle ticket, it’s an educational history lesson! There are so many fun stops along the way, so plenty of opportunities for photos and the bathroom (hehe). Dave, the driver, was so insightful without being too much, and he had great music and was an excellent driver, to boot. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and in good hands. Two enthusiastic thumbs up on this experience!
- elizabethbO1966TO00Every animal in the wild :)The trip was awesome! We had a few stops along the way and our guide, Richard, was great! We saw every animal in the wild, had wonderful photo opportunities at every stop. It was a full day well worth the money and time. We wouldn’t be able to find all the great sports without our wonderful guide. Thank you again for a trip of a lifetime, highly recommended
- Jackie D00SAFTY CONCERNS. DRIVER 10Klm OVER THE SPEED LIMIT.This was a great day out. Very informative driver. Great spots to stop along the way. You really need 3-4 hours to see everything and go on the River cruise at Port Arthur. However! The ride back was not pleasant.. The driver was driving 10klm over the speed limit, swerving over the road and around the bends. He had the music turned up very load and fist pumping to the music. He seemed more concerned about himself having a good time than the safety of the bus load of passengers. This was needless to say a very stressful drive back being thrown from side to side the entire way.
- pamelamE3962TJ00Cruise ship tourWe had a great day out with Andrew visiting historic Richmond, a city highlights tour and Mount Wellington. Our tour guide was informative and very engaging and adjusted the tour to suit us and the weather conditions especially on Mt Wellington. We made it back to the cruise ship on time. Stress free and great value for a cruise ship tour
- Teena D00Two time traveller will retun for a thirdBruny Island tour - amazing. Prompt on time & lots of fun. Bunzy - our driver very funny lots of local info Aussie story telling style. Loved the impromptu dance moves after an amazing lunch … Highly recommended

- buddah04112000FANTASTIC TOURSWow , Tassie tours have been awesome from first correspondence to actually tour. Our tour guide Mark was fantastic , very knowledgeable and a great sense of humour . We got to see so much of Port Athur and Hobart. We cannot wait to get back to Taasmania and will definatly be doing the rest of the tours that Tassie tours have to offer . Mick & Cheryl
- kristymam003 Day Tour: Perfect for exploring Hobart on a short tripMy father in his mid-70s and I enjoyed the 3 Day Tasmanian highlights Tour – Hobart, Port Arthur and Bruny Island. The tour was a great mix of history, food and gifts, sights and scenery, and nature and wildlife all fit within 3 days. Good weather allowed us to go to visit all planned sights such as Mount Wellington and we were lucky to see a white wallaby in Bruny Island and Tasmanian devils in Bonorong wildlife sanctuary. We found the tour very comfortable, almost all stops had toilet access, good local food options (we didn’t need to pack lunch) and could cater for people with different fitness levels. The tour is convenient with pick ups and drop offs at your hotel. Rob, Anni and Bunzy, our driver tour guides were warm and friendly, very informative, entertaining and organised, making sure the trips go smoothly. The tour was as described. They let you know extra costs upfront which are worth it. We found the 3 day tour was great value and a perfect way to get to know Hobart and surrounds, particularly on a short trip. Our luggage is full local food and gifts to enjoy Tasmania a bit longer when we get home. If only we could take the oysters with us! Highly recommend!
- petersQ5264IE00Great experience in TassieThis day trip was absolutely amazing- it was very well organised, the driver Andrew was fantastic and the sights were spectacular!! Fully recommend this tour to everyone

Bruny Island is beautiful, and we had excellent sunny weather for our day tour. Rodney was a cheerful and knowledgeable guide, and a good driver.
We booked through 'Get Your Guide' - which was a mistake, because at no sage were we advised who the actual tour operator was, or how to contact them. This became an issue, because a miscommunication about pick-up address for one of our party meant the tour left Hobart over an hour late. We were unable to contact the the operator 'Tassie Tours Tasmania' to ask where our (very) late minibus was. I would advise people book directly with the 'Tassie Tours Tasmania' and avoid 'Get Your Guide'.
Running late meant we skipped a couple of the advertised destinations. A shame. More worryingly, no drinking water was provided, and some overseas guests resorted to filling their drinking bottles with non potable water from toilet taps. I hope they were OK.

Best way to discover Bruny Island in one day. Booked this tour very last minute, got picked up at the hotel earlier than scheduled - smooth start!
Not too many or too few stops, just a good mixture of everything including nature, food, drinks & sweets - quality ones
Didn't feel rushed nor bored - our tour guide young Peter was very informative and entertaining without being too over the top
One thing I noticed was different from other tours as we somehow avoided/missed crowds. Horrible weather with rain and wind but our tour guide shuffled around our itinerary so didn't feel like the tour was affected by the weather much
Very enjoyable day, loved the nature and the lunch spot!

Thanks so much for writing about the awesome time you had with Peter. Peter and our guides have it down to a fine art of avoiding the crowds and especially the weather...I don't know how they manage it some times!
Thanks again. Happy and safe travels!

Peter was our tour guide for this tour and was very informative and entertaining.
We started the tour at Get Shucked oysters. Peter mentioned that being a Sunday the busiest day if we went for Oysters in the afternoon they may run out.
Got to admit I would have preferred to have gone in the afternoon where we would have had a opportunity to sit down and try the variety of oyster options but because we got there around 9.00am they had opened specially for us to buy oysters (only natural) so we couldn’t sit down to enjoy them. As everyone says they were the best oysters I’ve ever had, just disolved in your mouth.
We then stopped off at the Bruny Island Chocolate Company for some chocolate.
So oysters and chocolate for breakfast was something new but enjoyable.
The views from the viewing platform at the Neck and the Bruny Island Lighthouse were spectacular and were the highlight of our trip.
We had lunch at a cafe and stopped off at the Bruny Island Cheese Company in the afternoon where we enjoyed a cheese board in a lovely setting.
Went to Adventure Bay where a couple of brave souls went for a swim after a bet with Peter. They lasted the 7 minutes so won the bet.
Had a small rainforest walk where some leeches decided to hitch a ride with some of the group.
There is a fair bit on unsealed roads so it can get rough. Be warned if you suffer from travel sickness you need to drug up as it seems all Tassie bus drivers drive fast despite some of the roads being unsealed and twisty and small buses can swerve from side to side.
Didn’t get to spot any albino wallabies although not through lack of trying.

It's not a holiday unless you have oysters and chocolates for breakfast! haha! As you said, the oysters usually sell out very quickly at any time of year but especially so during the summer.
It is a shame they won't do anything about the roads, but it makes for the adventure to the lighthouse all the better. At least you were in very safe hands with Peter.
Yep, the elusive albino wallabies. You'd think white fur would stand out but the little buggers know how to hide!
Thanks for taking the time to write such a nice review. Happy and safe travels
Cheers!

Overall the tour was generally ok as we were able to do more than half of what I expected. It started with booking mixup on the pickup, broken door. It all contributed to a slow painful start.
Although I do appreciate the pickup in hotel but seems like this is not efficiently done.
Then there were some miss, i was expecting to see how cheese were made. Second i was expecting chocolate fudge samples. I know its covid but they can find covid safe way of doing it imho. No raspberry farm.
I was also expecting to see bit of animals as shown in the brochure but blame it on the hot weather.
Then worse of all our bus was broken. It was so inconvenient. I wished the company did something to ease the discomfort. It was literally hell inside the bus as there was no aircon. We wasted around 2hours of waiting for resolution. We were sitting at the side of the road with lots of dust mixed with sweat and exhaustion. We can smell fumes from the inside of the bus and i thought it was really unsafe.
My point being is I wish there was something done by the management like ensuring vehicle is working well, or having spare water if bus is overheating. Seems like there is no protocol for this kinds of mishaps. Think that it was an isolated island far from necessity. The company should have contingency if this happens.
Still thankful to Rodney as he was really resourceful in brining us back to Hobart safely but still such an inconvenience and it was no fun. It totally ruined my vacation.

Hi Rondzter,
Thanks for the review.
Im thinking maybe you booked the wrong tour if you were expecting to see how cheese was made and expecting free fudge samples and the raspberry farm? There is another company that is based around food and samples. We like to have a balance of 70/30 nature versus food experience especially when it was 34 degrees the day you travelled. Exploring the island's beaches, swimming, national park and tempered rain forest was a priority and of course a few stops along the way to sample the cheese, fudge, Oysters, Beer, Wine and eat a good lunch is always on the cards ( please note tastings and lunch is at own cost as advertised) It is also impossible to stop at every location on the island, We don't want to offer a rushed experience.
Note for the readers: Please let our guides know if there is somewhere you would like to visit on the island, we are more than accommodating. This tour is tailored to suit the people on board and the days weather conditions.
In regards to the bus all our buses are serviced and maintained thoroughly and have air conditioning. Unfortunately the bus split a hose to the radiator which was out of our control. Rodney did a great job in getting the bus back to Hobart. I sincerely apologise and am sorry that you didn't enjoy the day.
Note to the reader: We have a great tour to Bruny Island with great knowledgeable guides, please read further down to get a true reflection and experience from other customers. Hope to have you on board soon.
Regards
Patrick

Best to make your way to Visitors Info centre at Salamanca if you can, or are reasonably close, to save numerous pick ups for the bus driver/guide that youll be with for the day, and enjoy it more.
That aside, it is the most amazing 5 star recommendation I can offer, our driver “BUNS” , was such a lovely guy and can only totally recommend Tassie Tours, but especially our driver/ tour guide “BUNS”

Sep. 2023 • Friends
Both my friend and I had thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Bruny Island. It was honestly one of the best experiences we've had while visiting Hobart.
The journey started in the early morning, where we walked from our accommodation to the pickup location that's sent to us the day before. Upon arriving, we were greeted by our tour guide / driver, Bunzie, whom was a humorous and knowledgeable guy. There's a total of 10 in the van, which is not too crowded and feels just right.
We started from Hobart city and drove all the way to Kettering for the ferry service to Bruny Island. Ferry only took like 15 mins and we were allowed to get down our vehicle for some fresh air. The ferry docked at North Bruny where we started our journey, passing the island neck and going all the way until the lighthouse located on South Bruny before heading back.
Activities include visits to local produce shops (fresh oysters, honey, chocolate, cheese, etc), bush and beach walks, as well as lunch at Hotel Bruny. I was blown away by how pristine the air was, how magnificent the views were, and how good the food tastes.
We were properly communicated of how much time was allocated for each activity, so please make sure you go back to the van by the time specified to avoid delays. Be sure to grab a beanie and windbreaker (or something that'll keep you warm) as it was really cold and windy for us when we walk up to the lighthouse. Also try to bring some light snacks like energy bars to keep you going throughout the journey. If not, there's a convenience store on the island but expect to pay a premium.
All in all, it was an amazing tour that was properly planned and each activity was given the right amount of time. Just sit back, relax and enjoy your trip at Bruny Island ^^

We had a wonderful day on Bruny with a great tour guide in (young) Peter. We got off to a rocky start as we accidentally missed the bus due to alarm malfunction, but the company graciously fit us in the next day instead, for which we were very grateful. I'm so glad we didn't miss out - the tour is a fantastic mix of beautiful nature and gourmet treats, and each stop is well-timed for what you're doing. Peter even rearranged our itinerary on the fly to make the most of the changeable weather. Every now and then we passed some far bigger coaches run by other companies, and I was grateful for the small size of our group and personal feel to the tour. I would really recommend seeing Bruny with Tassie Tours.

Oh dear, Tess. At least you had a good sleep-in and were well rested for the next day's tour XD. We've all been there before and we're just glad you didn't miss out.
Thanks for noticing why we run small group tours...we too don't enjoy being patrons (or suppliers) of tours that are over-crowded and impersonal.
Thanks for your beautiful recommendation. Happy and safe travels!
Cheers!

A fantastic day out with friendly and knowledgeable guide, Andrew and Tassie Tours. Our small group enjoyed a relaxing tour around Bruny's highlights, Andrew planned our itinerary well to make the best use of time without rushing (thankfully no oysters for breakfast). Thoughtful planning ensured we avoided the crowds to take full advantage of enjoying each attraction at it's best, spending quality time exploring and tasting the delicious bounty Bruny Island has to offer. We had a bit of rainy weather but Andrew had everything in hand to ensure we still enjoyed every part of what was an excellent day out. Bruny Island is just beautiful, the day was well balanced with some easy/moderate walks (some steps and steep walking) well worth the effort and visits that will satisfy all foodies tastes. Highly recommend Tassie Tours Bruny Island trip, great way to see all the highlights of the island in a small group.

We are so happy we picked this tour! While there are a few companies that do the same tour they all seemed over priced for what they include. Our tour guide was a local so he was able to take us to a few hidden gems that no one else visited, while still hitting all the main spots. The views were breathtaking and we managed to see 3 white wallabies. We also stopped at all the hot food spots and enjoyed fresh oysters, chocolate, honey and a seafood lunch. If you want to visit Bruny island this is the best way.

Elly was cheerful, extremely competent and a lovely young lady. She described our day out well on the drive to the ferry and kept everyone on time throughout the day. Lunch was somewhat washed out, but the restaurant managed extremely well in providing take away containers. One day can only provide a tasting plate of Bruny Island, but it was done extremely well by Tassie Tours.

South Bruny National Park.
Not much walking. Short walks only in a rain forest and to a lighthouse (500m maximum) and you can elect to omit them and stay in or near the van.

Hi, there were no toddlers on the tour that I did with these guys but they are a small, family run business and would probably be happy to talk to you and help you out with an appropriate tour.

Is this tour entertaining for young adults 20-25?

I thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m 26... if that counts! Opportunities for a swim if you don’t mind coldish water and a few short walks. I would recommend!
What if we are renting airbnb just outside of Hobart, instead of hotel pick up, can we drive up to the ferry dock and join tour from there?
