Stop: 7 hours - Admission included
Meet your two expert guides and travel companions at Franklin Wharf on Hobart’s historic waterfront. Leave the city behind for a trip along the waterways of Hobart. Admire spectacular scenery as you glide down the Derwent River into the sheltered waters of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel around Bruny Island. Throughout the day, your guide shares extensive knowledge of the region, informed by years of experience in and around these waters. Cruise to a secluded bay where your guide will jump into the water to hunt for abalone and sea urchins. Watch your guide prepare the ocean bounty that they have gathered. Try rock lobster prepared two ways, cooked and sashimi style, along with delicious seafood dishes cooked up on the spot. You will also dine on freshly shucked oysters and salmon. The meal is accompanied by a gourmet spread of fresh local breads, salads and artisan cheeses, and matched with premium wines, boutique beer, ciders and locally-made organic juices.

      Thank you Luke & Stanley!!
we enjoyed the time with Luke and Stanley, they shared a lot marine experience and knowledge during the cruise journey. Luke also catch the biggest abalone, but it was sad that shell was taken by another family. We also enjoy the time with Stanley on various topics! Thank you Luke and Stanley, we hope to see you soon.

      Unforgettable Unique Experience
We recently took the Seafood Seduction Tour organised by Pennicott Wilderness Journeys, in Hobart with Kate and Dave as our guides, and it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, Kate and Dave were knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the best of Tasmania with us. One of the highlights of the tour was when Kate dived into the chilly waters to catch our own sea urchin and abalone while Dave prepared the delicious seafood platter. We were blown away by the freshness and taste of the seafood that they made for us. It was truly a unique and delicious experience that we will never forget. Throughout the tour, Kate and Dave shared their extensive knowledge of Tasmania's seafood industry, and we were able to appreciate not only the taste but also the sustainability and ethics behind the seafood we were eating. Kate and Dave made sure that every detail was taken care of, and they were always ready to answer any questions that we had. Overall, I highly recommend the Seafood Seduction Tour with Kate and Dave as your guides. They are professional, personable, and truly passionate about showcasing Tasmania's incredible views of the sea, the seafood and culinary culture. This tour is a must-do for anyone visiting Hobart and looking for an authentic and unforgettable experience

Tasman Island Cruise & Port Arthur - Amazing Tour!
Had an amazing day with the team at Pennicott Wilderness Journeys on the Tasman Island Cruises Full Day Tour + Port Arthur Historic Site. Big shout out to our knowledgeable and hospitable tour guides Ben and Yani and also Phil our driver 🙌🏽 We had a spectacular day out on the water, Tassie really turned on the weather for us! We saw a humpback whale, so many dolphins and seals and just breathtaking scenery along the coastline! The Port Arthur part of the tour was also fascinating and we could have spent longer there. Highly recommend this tour, you definitely get your money’s worth ✅

You Won't Get These Views Any Other Way
So far we've only done one cruise from Eaglehawk Neck and it was incredible. We didn't see a huge abundance of different wildlife although we did see a heck of a lot of seals. Staff were informal and incredibly informative and the scenery that you are treated to is simply incredible - well worth every penny. Looking forward to doing the Bruny tour soon.

We did the tasman island cruise
The organisation of the day was great, we met at the center near Port Arthur and were shutteled over to the wharf at Pirate Cove. The boat was great and the crew Damo and Finn where nice guys. If you are lucky to have Finn driving your boat he is a very able seaman and read the waves like the back of his hand. The company supplies long spray jackets to stop you from getting too wet. The tour was great, the sea was pretty rough (2 meters) for me anyway. The coast was great and we saw jumping tuna, seals, sea birds and dolphins. My only negative is that there was no information given on the tour as to what was going on. I would have liked some more information about the history of the area, the lighthouse etc. Had a good day.

      Day Trip to Remember
We booked the full day Bruny Island tour from Hobart. Our bus had a faulty PA system so any commentary was hard to hear. The ferry trip and travel to our boat was excellent, and the crew recommended ginger tablets (distributed free) in case of seasickness. Our exploration of the Bruny coast was fantastic, with lots to see and a very cooperative driver. On the way back (40 minutes at full throttle) we even followed a pod of dolphins. Lunch a Pennicott's Restaurant was spoiled by the poor service (over half an hour wait for pre-ordered meals to our table), such that we had to rush it to meet our departure deadline. As paying customers on THEIR tour surely we could have expected better service! Our ferry and bus trip back to Hobart was uneventful. We would recommend this trip to others, and hope your restaurant service was better than ours!

Amazing view of the freshest, most wonderful seafood you will ever eat.
We took the Seafood Seduction tour with Katie as skipper and Anita as colleague. They did an amazing job of pulling together a remarkable experience. We were able to try some amazing seafood - lobsters (locally called "crayfish"), oysters, abalone, sea urchins, salmon, and just for fun some freshly picked cherries from Bruny Island. The cooking was outstanding, and the food could not have been fresher. It seemed after this that we might not ever be able to eat some of this seafood again without disappointment about lesser freshness. Katie and Anita could not have been more professional, better company, nor more capable. We recommend this tour very highly to anyone who really loves seafood. As an additional note, we had some complications in our reservations, as 2 friends had to back out at the last minute. We were very impressed by the kind and professional way that Pennicott Wilderness Journeys handled this situation.

Expensive but you will not be disappointed
A great day with Tim and Luke out in the water, hard works from the guys to serve us and Tim had to dive in for the abalones and urchins. Very full overloaded with seafood and you will not be disappointed to join. It is definitely worth the money. Good job. Note: kids too young (<6 yr old) may not be recommended as the food may not be suitable.

      Great fun!
Took the tour to Tasman Island with son visiting from Queensland. Lovely calm day on the way out: saw dolphins, albatross, whales and seals. Amazing, awe inspiring sea cliffs and extraordinary sea caves. Just fantastic. Weather turned and a fast ride home on mounting seas. But never concerned... the crew are great, caring and very professional; and the boats are built for Tassie’s changeable weather. Great fun! Loved it so much joined the Iron Pot Lighthouse tour out of Hobart. Another fantastic day on the water. Highly recommend.

      Unique Seafood Experience
The Pennicott “Seafood Seduction” is one of the worlds most special guided experiences in my opinion. Our guides last week, Kate and Hamish, are both charming, experienced sailors and divers and both have a special knowledge and love of Tasmania’s flora, fauna and geography that they share with their passengers. It’s such a unique experience to be able eat abalone and sea urchin that our crew just dived into the sea to find, to eat crayfish that our crew cook and show you how to eat from the shell, salmon, both sashimi and cooked, oysters shucked and eaten fresh and then as an alternative, cooked in sparkling wine. And delightful Tasmanian wines, ales, ciders and water as accompaniments all day. I should also mention the majesty of the raptors, sea lions, seals, leaping salmon we were introduced to during a fabulous day on Hobart’s sparkling waters and secret bays. What a Day, what a Tour, what a remarkable Team! Our thanks.

      WOW
This tour was to celebrate my wifes birthday, and what celebration ! Champagne ,wine beer, oysters.lobster abalone. All in abundance. Our tour guides Tim and Mani were magnificent. Local lads who have grown up in the area and new every little nook and crany of the harbour like the back of their hand. The water was a bit lumpy that day but the boys found all the protected coves to lunch in with comfort. Their knowlege of the area was profound. The tour is expensive, but worth it. I'll bet you have never eaten so much seafood or drank so much wine before.

The most amazing day with Kate and Nat. The best kitted boat with the best crew with amazing local and marine knowledge. Yes it is expensive but you get every cents worth. Kate dived for Sea Urchins and Abalone that we consumed also fresh oysters and crayfish cooked 5 ways. A small group of great people in a very relaxed atmosphere. Janz bubbles and magic local wines.a big day out but very easy, great scenery. We went to near the bottom of Bruny Island. My wife and O are both cooks but Kate taught a heap about how to prepare Abalone, oysters and crayfish. An amazing experience thank you.

What a spectacular way to spend Boxing Day. Amazing seafood and amazing hosts, with stunning Tasmania as the ever-pleasing backdrop!

From the very first welcoming smiles displayed by Lily and Hugh as we got on board, and Hugh’s invitation for everyone to ‘lose their shoes’, we were relaxed and ready for the memorable day ahead. That was the case even without a visit to a salmon or oyster farm, as was advertised. I’m mentioning it here not because the absence of those visits bothered us at all, but to suggest to potential customers that if those visits are really important to you, it might be worth checking with the company if your proposed date will include those stops. We assume ours didn’t because it was a public holiday. We had no qualms - there was NO shortage of juicy oysters and salmon on board!!! And we were introduced to poached oysters - poached in Jansz! A revelation to us, even as long standing oyster lovers. Yum.

Our hosts worked like troopers to ensure all 12 passengers ate like kings and queens … some probably ate up to around two dozen oysters each…..and that was only the start. The way the tenderised abalone was cooked so perfectly and simply, with butter/salt/pepper, restored our faith in abalone, having had it terribly cooked on various recent occasions. Well done Hugh - amazing job !!!!

It was fascinating to learn more about the creatures we like to consume - including the new ones like sea urchins!

There seemed never to be a moment where we weren’t eating, drinking, chatting, learning, sunning and indulging. Sure, the trip is expensive, but you cannot complain about the value given the generosity of provisions. And there are no airs and graces - so laid back. We were just able to chill, tuck in and have a ball. I’d definitely do the trip again! And maybe we’ll try winter next time…. to avoid sunburn on the tops of our feet ;)

Amazing! This was one of the best tours during our five weeks visit to Australia and New Zealand. And it was really a small group, just two of us - my wife and me. It was like honeymoon, as said by Rob - the boss, at the very beginning. The next lucky choice was our skipper Tomas. Nice and friendly guy, a wonderful guide showing us all the places and attractions with vivid conversation, a lot of insider information and with so much enthusiasm. Yes, this coast is his home and seemed like he wanted to show it to some good friends. But let us come to the top of it: seafood, fresh from the Ocean prepared by the best chef skipper we ever knew. Tomas served us oysters, salmon, lobster, abalone, sea urchins, always two ways - sashimi and cooked but also cheeses and salads delicious and beautifully arranged on a plates. In order to get it the right way we enjoyed it with champagne, chardonnay and some beer. Tomas, you told us your girlfriend is or is going to be chef in local top hotel, but for us you are the best chef in Hobart!
