Kangaroo Island Trails Scienic Day Tour
My husband and I were visiting Kangaroo Island as part of a cruise ship itinerary and therefore limited to a few hours to get a real feel for the place We didn’t know what to expect when we booked this tour but knew we preferred to go in a smaller group than those offered by the cruise line. We were blown away at how good it was. I have to say our guide, Nikki, made our day. Her enthusiasm and ability to keep those on the bus entertained and interested was exceptional. Nikki has vast amounts of knowledge about the Island from the animals, geology, history, people, and natural beauty to the abundance of activities and industry that makes it so unique. Highly recommend this tour.

        Seals were great.
Lunch served after 2pm and all passengers were hungry. Driver was falling asleep while driving. I had to stay alert and watch her. Everyone else in the bus was asleep. Long time looking for kangaroos when our bus was full of Australians. Seeing the seals was a highlight of the tour and made it worth while.

A very long and disappointing day.
Our driver/guide, Cheryl, was very informative and helpful - and she was to be congratulated for her efforts. However, it is a very long and disappointing day as there is so little to see in between the highlights - Seal Bay, the Remarkable Rocks and Admiral's Arch. The tour took over 8 hours - the first toilet stop was 2 hours after we started; there was no morning tea; lunch was served at 1:50pm and consisted of a bottle of juice and a Greek salad in a plastic container (to be eaten whilst travelling with wooden utensils)! As there were children on board, it was a totally unsuitable meal. Surely, a wrap or sandwich would have been a better option. The Remarkable Rocks were certainly impressive but hardly worth the 3 hour drive.

A Great Shore Tour and Wonderful way to see KI
We booked this tour as our cruise was stopping at KI and quite frankly it was sunstantially cheaper than booking an onboard shore tour. We had a fabulous day , we saw so much , many thanks to Kylie who was a great guide and very knowlegable. Yes there was a bit of driving but we can say we saw a lot ! From Remarkable rocks , Admirals Arch , Seal Bay , the Eucalyptus distillery , a couple of lookouts and we even found some Koalas in their natural habitat . Sufficient time at each spot to take it all in . What an enjoyable tour . Oh and the salad we had for lunch was one of the nicest salads Ive ever had ! And we had no dramas or time constraints in order to return to the cruise on time. Can thoroughly recommend KI Trails Shore tours. Thanks again

        Wonderful day
My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. Kylie was friendly and knowledgeable about the island. She was flexible but also kept a great eye on time management to get us back to the ship in time. We stopped at all the major stops and had enough time to explore each stop at our own pace. Stopped on the way back and found a Koala and baby. Lunch was better than expected with a lovely salad and juice. Thanks so much, we would recommend.

        Spectacular views
Unfortunately it seems that cruise ships anchor at one end of the island while the main sights are at the the opposite end which means there was a fair amount of driving but it was well worth doing. Our guide, Cheryl, was very informative and shared her local knowledge with us to make this a memorable experience. The stunning views made this an unforgettable trip.

        A TASTE OF KANGAROO ISLAND
I was extremely fortunate to be directed to Kylie from Kangaroo Island Trails and secure 3 places on the Kangaroo Island Tasting Tour during a recent cruise visit to the island. The itinerary, price and time were all far superior to what was on offer via the cruise ship and gave us a greater amount of time in Kingscote. My husband and I were particularly interested in seeing some of the history of Kangaroo Island and Hope Cottage in Kingscote had been recommended as the place to go. As there are no tours on offer that specifically cater to showcasing the history, Kylie suggested that we could skip the gin distillery and winery to be dropped off and picked up at Hope Cottage while the rest of the group continued with the scheduled itinerary. It worked out a perfectly and we had 2 hours in which to absorb the treasures on display. My mother stayed with the group and we all enjoyed the day immensely. Next to our little side trip, highlights were the Lavender Farm morning tea (who knew lavender scones and lavender jelly could taste so good?!) and the Eucalyptus oil distillery (where there are some really quality Eucalyptus and emu oil products for sale). Lutz provided an excellent and very informative commentary which also included quite a bit of the fascinating history of Kangaroo Island. Well worth the cost and definitely recommended as an introduction to Kangaroo Island.

Definitely a tasting tour worth the time.
We had a great day on kangaroo island with a small group of 14. The lavender farm was a good thing morning tea with scones and jam and cream very generous servings. The Gin distillery was great very informative and lots of different flavours. Bay of Shoals winery was lovely the staff so friendly, very generous tastings. Overall a very long but totally enjoyable and well worth the price we paid. Our guide was very informative new a bit about lots of things kept us asking questions. I highly recommend King Island Trails

        Taste highlights of KI!
We loved our half-day tasting tour of KI - we were lucky enough to be a family of four alone - very knowledgable guide, each stop was enjoyable (wine, gin, lavender, honey and eucalyptus) and we came away with some local goodies! Very personal, friendly and highly recommended!

Kangaroo Island 2-Day Adventure with an Incredible Guide
My husband and I booked a private 2-day tour with Nikki Redman through Kangaroo Island Trails. The owner of the business, Kylie, was extremely helpful in ironing out the details of our tour. For our departure she was able to purchase the ferry tickets for us ahead of time and arrange transport for us from the ferry terminal by bus back to Adelaide. She also helped with arranging our hotel for our overnight stay. It was truly a group effort to coordinate all of this and Kylie was GREAT! Now for the tour days with Nikki -- She was a fantastic guide!!! She knew everything about the Island, was able to answer any questions that we had, and absolutely kept us busy seeing new and exciting things the entire two days of our adventure. We had come to experience Kangaroo Island and that is exactly what we did under her guidance. She took us to all of the major well-known sights, such as Flinders Chase National Park (where we got to go down to the beach with all of the Sea Lions), Admiral's Arch, Remarkable Rocks, Vivonne Bay, Seal Bay Conservation Park, etc. We saw loads of koalas just hanging out in the trees with their babies, and tons of kangaroos -- many with joeys in their pouches. Nikki knew right where to find all of the animals to show us, depending on the time of day. Her knowledge was incredible!! The two days allowed her to share so much more of the beautiful parts of the Island -- including scenic beaches that most travelers never get to see, and a wide variety of animals that inhabit the island. She was able to take us to the Raptor Domain area, Point Tinline and Wreckers Beach and Pennington Bay with fabulous water fowl, and we can't forget the town of Kingscote and the American River area (where we saw black swans and pelicans). On the other coast of the Island we were treated to Snelling Beach, Western River Cove, Stokes Bay (named Australia's Best Beach for 2023), and Emu Bay. Each beach or cove had something special and unexpected associated with it which was beautiful and fun to experience. During all of our traveling around the Island, Nikki spotted all sorts of animals to point out to us! Besides the animals that you would expect to see such as the koalas and kangaroos, we saw sheep, cows, wallabies, birds of prey, 8 rare Glossy Black Cockatoos in the trees, a 6-foot long Black Tiger Snake (the 4th most venomous snake in the world), a pygmy Copperhead Snake (also venomous), 4 echidnas, several possums, one goanna (large lizard), Australian sea lions, long-nosed fur seals with their pups, and more. The most amazing part of seeing all of these animals was that they were all spotted in the wild on the Island. None were in a cage or in a compound -- they were all just roaming free. Nikki provided that unbelievable experience for us!!! We can't say enough about Nikki's expertise, her friendly, warm personality, and her enthusiastic dedication to providing us with a one-of-a-kind amazing adventure.

        A bucket list experience
Kangaroo Island is a stunning breath taking must visit Australian island. We visited Flinder's Chase National Park, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch to name a few. Saw lots of seals sunbaking on the beaches, sea lions, koalas & the odd kangaroo. Our guide Nikki, was friendly, informative & is a passionate advocate for all the natural beauty of Kangaroo Island. If Kangaroo Island isn't on your bucket list it should be.

What an amazing day! Thank you Nikki!
What an amazing day! Our tour guide Nikki was superb. So friendly, passionate and enthusiastic. When we arrived the weather wasn’t great but Nikki turned it into a positive and found so much wildlife, it was amazing! We seen kangaroos, koalas, enchidnas, seals. The sun was out in the afternoon and we got some amazing scenic photos. Lunch and snacks provided were lovely. Overall it was an amazing day and we would definitely recommend. Special mention to Nikki our guide and also Ray who drove us back to the ferry terminal who was very friendly and helpful too. Thank you for a great day!

It was a really good day and Cheryl our guide/driver was very good at spotting wildlife for us.
We covered a lot of the island.
She knew the area well and could give us lots of information about the places we were visiting and what we would see.
The only downside to the trip was as one of the pickups was the ferry, which was late getting in, the trip sometimes felt a little rushed fitting everything in.

There is no one word to sum up this tour, incredible, stunning and mesmerising just don't feel like they do this tour justice. From the minute Chris picked me up, it was incredible stop after another, from stunning views of a local beach I had to myself, through to the jaw dropping Flinders Chase National Park and onto the breath taking seal bay conservation area.

Every aspect of this tour was 5 stars, there is not a single aspect I can fault, and it was simply one of the best tours and tour guides I've had in my life.

Our Kangaroo Island Scenic Nature and Wildlife Day Tour with Curly was incredible! We saw so much remarkable wildlife: sea lions, seals, kangaroos, koalas, birds, and even an echidna! Curly was an outstanding guide; he highly knowledgeable about the island and excited to pass the information to us. The places we stopped were well organized and really showcased the beauty of Kangaroo Island. Seal Bay and Flinders Chase National Park were my personal favorites. I would recommend this tour to anyone!

Our tour guide Nikki provided an amazing experience! As a Kangaroo Island local and naturalist her level of knowledge was incredible. We saw kangaroos, wallabies, echidna, seals, fur seals and Blue Whales that had us jumping up and down with excitement. Nikki’s passion for the island was contagious and she went above and beyond to give us the best experience. The small group experience made us feel that we were with friends. Best day ever!

We had an exceptional tour with Nikki who has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the history, flora and fauna of Kangaroo Island. Her passion for the island’s wildlife and its continued survival is obvious. She has an uncanny knack of spotting animals and birds - she filled the journey between sightings with a wealth of fascinating information. We loved every minute of our tour.

This was a great trip with all the important sites seen and some great wildlife viewing. Nikki amazed us with her immense knowledge of the island and the animals and her uncanny ability to spot animals. It was obvious that she knows and loves her island! The mid morning snack of carrot cake was a bit messy with no drink provided. Lunch could certainly be stepped up a notch or two and water would be preferable to the unbelievably sweet fruit juice provided. Finally, the last two hours of the tour was a non stop trip back to town doing drive by of some sites. Those buses are not the most comfortable and stopping every 20-30 minutes, even for short photo stops , would really have been appreciated! All in all, we did learn a lot about the animals and the history of the island.

Amazing tour and a must do on KI!

I coincidentally had a private tour with Nikki who is hands down one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. She went above and beyond for me on the tour, taking me to extra spots along the way to see koalas, kangaroos and wallabies. We were lucky enough to even see Southern Right Whales at Cape du Couedic! Nikki is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the island and excellent company!

This all day tour covered the major attractions of the island, all with expert and friendly commentary from our guide/driver Gary. He had lived most of his life on KI and could give us background on everything while driving between the sites. Commencing with the Emu oil farm (ingenuity of the owner is amazing), then into the Flinders Chase NP for The Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch and bays/beaches. Vivonne bay & Seal bay (extraordinary) were noteworthy additions.

I was so glad I booked this tour instead of trying to do the exploring on my own. It was great not to have to drive so I could really look around and I wouldn't have known what spots have been affected, that is closed, because of the fires. Gethin was fully in the know so no time was wasted seeking out places that are closed for now while recovery from the fires is happening. I really felt I got a good overview of the island , a great lunch at the Lavender Farm, good beaches.... and good tips for how to spend my subsequent two days on island.

This tour was one of the highlights of the trip, thanks to Gethin! Although much of the island had been closed due to the fire damage, this tour was still an unforgettable part of our trip. Gethin's knowledge of the island was fascinating. He showed us many places we wouldn't have found on our own and allowed gave us plenty of time to take photos. I'm so glad we went with this tour instead of trying to drive the island on our own!
