About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Compass7378900 contributionsA great trip to the Barossa ValleyWe had a great day out on our wine tasting tour to the Barossa Valley. I received a message the day before confirming pick-up details, name of tour guide, and vehicle to look out for. The group was small enough to really get to know people; the van air conditioned and comfortable. Hayley, our tour guide was great. She filled us in on all sorts of interesting facts along the way and was happy to answer questions. We visited four very different vineyards. Having done this trip, I'd definitely recommend it; and I'd use CP Tours and Charters for other trips in the future.Written 29 November 2024
- lindasI6373KJ0 contributionsBarossaWe loved our tour! Roy was awesome, even his Dad jokes🤣 We loved the older style wineries over the more modern looking ones, mainly for the old buildings etc, would’ve preferred more of these. We had a great bunch of people on our tour, which can make all the difference. Lots of laughs! Roy went out of his way to make our tour personal & fun.Written 29 November 2024
- Alison2970 contributionsA day to rememberFrom the moment we boarded we knew we were going to have a great time. Roy our driver was extremely entertaining and had a whole bag of jokes up his long sleeves, it definitely kept us all amused on the journey. We had a mixed group of 4 young ladies in their 20’s and 6 oldies(50+) and we all got on like a house on fire, so much so that we were all exchanging details at the end. We visited 4 different wineries, all having a different experience with countless tastings and a delicious deli lunch in the 2nd one. Roy surprised us all on the journey back with a stop at a wildlife sanctuary where we held baby kangaroos, orphaned after their mums had been hit as a result of a roadkill. The lady who ran it was an absolute angel and of course we all dug deep into our pockets. Thanks again Roy for a day we will never forget!Written 28 November 2024
- Colin L0 contributionsIf the cruise is cancelled, cancel there and then.We were advised the day before that the paddle steamer element of the tour was cancelled because of high winds. We were offered the option of cancelling or continuing with an amended itinerary. We agreed to continue as we were looking forward to a day out and had no other plans. The following day, our driver, Phil, did his best to make something of the day but, instead of a relaxing 3 hour cruise, we spent half the day driving around in the minibus, with no compensation for the missing main element of the day, the cruise. So, if you do book and the cruise is cancelled, cancel the whole thing there and then.Written 17 November 2024
- lyndalm4850 contributionsDiversity of Barossa wines showcasedSmall tour perfectly hosted by Hayley. 4 wineries selected to showcase the variety and variability across the Barossa Valley. Great lunch at Lamberts Estate too (and of course the wine). Thoroughly enjoyed the day.Written 17 November 2024
- renaetm0 contributionsGreat day visiting wineriesExcellent experience with Roy as our guide. Our group of 5 was joined by another 4-5 people that were all very friendly. The tour was run on time and very well planned with each winery expecting us when we walked in. We liked the first winery on the list the best (Chateau Tanunda). Our guide also helped our group find a wildlife rescue to visit the next day, and even helped to coordinate it. I would definitely recommend this tour company!Written 16 November 2024
- Swa12345my0 contributionsAdelaide"Adelaide exceeded expectations for my recent business trip. The city's modern conference facilities and central location made meetings and networking seamless. Locals were friendly and knowledgeable, sharing valuable insights. Outside of business hours, I enjoyed exploring the vibrant cultural scene, savoring exceptional food and wine, and visiting iconic Glenelg Beach. While evening entertainment options were limited, the city's charm and productivity made up for it. Successful deal closures and meaningful connections were the trip's highlights. I'd definitely return to Adelaide for both business and leisure, and recommend it to fellow professionals seeking a productive and enjoyable experience."Written 16 November 2024
- Global684208305690 contributionsGreat day out in the Adelaide Hills - Highly recommend! We had a great day out and would highly recommend this day tour to all. Jess was new in the job but very knowledgeable of the area and had a bubbly, friendly personality. She was perfect for the job! Great view of Adelaide from Mt Lofty and a quick stop at the Bridgewater flour mill started the trip off. We then arrived into Murray Bridge for a 3 hour 2 course lunch cruise on the Proud Mary. This was very relaxing and the commentary by the captain was great. Lunch had basics to choose from, but the battered fish and chicken schnitzels our table had all came out hot and were great. Apple crumble for dessert was delicious. The bar was well stocked and well priced, with a good range of cocktails also. Back on the bus for a quick stop at the Beerenberg factory/shop (love their products) and then on to Harndorf for an hours free time to wander the shops and eateries. All in all a fantastic day, thank you.Written 13 November 2024
- jennifereW2522LP0 contributionsEnjoyable day.Enjoyable, relaxing, well-paced, covered what I wanted to see. Jess the guide was enthusiastic, bubbly, managed guests and info well. Though apparently new to the company, it was evident she had good tourism experience.Written 13 November 2024
- 376bevb0 contributionsUnderwhelmingJess our tour guide was fabulous and very informative considering she has only just started working for the company. However the food on board the cruise was extremely disappointing. I ordered the fish, Chips and Salad, the fish had bones in it, the salad was a small piece of tomato some grated carrot and some wilted green leaves. The meal itself was very small and the chips were like rocks. The waitress was quite unfriendly. Views of the river were lovely. I don’t think the the cruise is worth the money personally very underwhelming. The rest of the trip was great with Jess but don’t think it’s worth $189.Written 11 November 2024
- Corymbia570 contributionsVery Disappointing Experience.if you are wanting the quintessential paddle steamer experience this is not the trip for you. Firstly the Captain Proud was built in 1977 and has not been updated since. It is old , worn and decrepit. Holes in the carpet on the deck, ( a trip hazard) furniture very worn, vessel itself looks very unloved. There is not view of the paddles unless you are prepared to view them from the women's toilet on the lower deck. if you are in the toilet and doing your business it is not nice to have the area filled up with people looking at the wheels. Unbelievable. They are only there for show. The vessel itself is diesel powered ( smelt diesel exhaust the entire trip ) . The view from the deck is VERY disappointing. There is an endless line of willow trees on the embankments, a few caravan parks and some new housing development plus some communication towers and electricity towers in industrial subdivisions. Very little native vegetation or natural features to look at. Lunch was average although the women on bord worked really hard to deliver a hot meal in trying conditions. Time in Handorf was way to short. An hour and a half minimum should be spent there as there is so much to see. Give this trip a miss and catch the public bus from Adelaide to Handorf and have a nice lunch in a cafe there. Much better value.Written 11 November 2024
- D2126DCkerrym0 contributionsFantastic tourWe were picked up from our hotel by our tour guide Paul, who was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. A lovely relaxing way to spend the day, my Mum and I really enjoyed the tour. The food portions on the lunch cruise were generous, there was a decent menu to choose from, and the food was delicious. Hahndorf was a pretty town with some lovely shops and eating venues. I only wish we had more time to spend there. Highly recommend this all day tour.Written 5 November 2024

- JDB610 contributionsExcellent day tour to explore the smaller wineries of the Barossa ValleyOur driver was excellent, lots of great information about not only the wine region but Adelaide in general. Very personalised service. He went above and beyond and even managed to squeeze in an extra visit for a very welcome ice cream at a chocolate factory- this was the icing on the cake! Highly recommend this tour- good value for money too!Written 28 October 2024

Picked up on time. Long day but Phil showed us a lot of SA. We saw the mouth of the Murray river. Beautiful scenery. Victor Harbour, very quiet little town. Phil drove us around a lot of beaches on the trip back to our hotel.

Phil, our driver and guide was a fountain of information. A brief tour of historic Scottish settlement Strathalbyn and stopovers at scenic Horseshoe Bay and Murray mouth where River Murray meets the Southern Ocean was well worth the experience.
Victor Harbor is a charming seaside village and the view from the Bluff was scenic.
A most enjoyable day.

Great day tour. I would recommend to all.
Phil was a great host and is quite knowledgeable and was able to provide a great overview of Adelaide and Victor harbour along the way. We also got the luxury to explore at our own pace. He was on time.
Thanks
