About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- scottbX5074TI0 contributionsProbably OK for the target audienceCruise is twice as long as it should be, and catering very "RSL club". Guide on the bus could be a lot more informative, and less "dad jokes". Probably OK for retirees, but for younger people a bit slow.Written 15 March 2025
- tommP3995TM0 contributionsQuiet cruise and good lunchI was traveling with a family member, and I must admit I would not have booked this tour, but they wanted to go. That being said, it was a pleasant river cruise, and a good lunch. I enjoyed having a beer and watching the river go by. After all the running around we did, it was nice to sit back and just enjoy the day.Written 15 March 2025
- Culture569515763860 contributionsSmall is beautifulThe tour was excellent. Great communication, wonderful tour guide, and great selection of wineries. I loved traveling with a small group of, and the focus of this tour on small family operated wineries. Great variety of wines sampled and lovely locally sourced lunch. It was a wonderful day and good value and quality.Written 13 March 2025

- rickysZ7762KK0 contributionsGood funTour guide was great value; friendly, funny and great with comms. Good selection of wineries. Nice small group of under 10 peopleWritten 8 March 2025
- Mike R0 contributionsWould have been rated higher if it had better organisation. This was sold as a wine tasting tour small group of 11. There was 16 on our tour which was not a problem as it was a good group of people. The bus did not have a microphone for the tour guide so we got no commentary or any inclination of what the scedule was for the day. I think it was made up as we went around the valley. We arrived at the first cellar doors and they were not expecting us and rushed a tasting together. Lunch stop was a little early in the day. We arrived at our last cellar door, Yaldera, the driver dropped us and said we had an hour. The winery was not expecting us and said all they could do was give us a glass of wine each, they had no room / time to give us a wine tasting and told us to look around on our own. Overall, we were a little disappointed in the tour, I had only booked this one because of the great reviews I had read. The valley was great as were most of the wines we tasted but the tour needed better organisation.Written 8 March 2025

- Departure506444908650 contributionsFantastic TourVictor Harbour was a lovely place and we had fantastic weather. The horse drawn tram to Granite Island was a fun thing to do and we had a delicious lunch at The Causeway Cafe. Our tour driver Roy was wonderful and showed us some great places along the way. He was such fun and I've not laughed so much in ages. He made the trip so enjoyable. I thoroughly recommend CP Tours and if you are lucky enough to get Roy as your driver you'll have a very memorable time with lots of laughs.Written 28 February 2025

Having a group of only 6 in a private van was a real bonus for spontaneous interaction amongst travellers! Highlight for me was havung time to walk over to Granite Island then catch the Horse drawn tram on return. Oh! Plus a stop at d'Arenburg winery to view the Cube!Written 27 February 2025

I had originally booked for the Barossa wine tasting tour but due to not having enough people, Greig kindly transferred me to this trip instead.
Roy is the guide and driver of the trip. He did a fantastic job being not only entertaining, but also informative about the areas that we were driving through. I've had some good laughs throughout the trip despite being hungover.
Communication from both Greig and Roy was great and clear. I knew exactly where I needed to be at what time.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone who's looking to explore the area without the stress of researching and driving.

We had a fantastic day out in the Barossa with our knowledgeable, engaging and experienced guide Phil. Picked up at our Adelaide hotel and whisked to the Barossa for excellent wine tasting at smaller boutique wineries. Coffee at Maggie Beers was a great start and an excellent included lunch of gourmet pizza or large platter at Lamberts winery. Great gluten free options. Van was comfortable and spacious. Would highly recommend to all for a fun day trip in the Barossa Valley.

This was awesome. We had Robert and another lady ( i apologize for forgetting your name!) who gave us the tour, told us stories and bits of history, cracking jokes, giving recommendations etc. Because the tour was a lot smaller than a big bus, we really got to know them at the personal level, along with the other guests.
We had a fun time all around! The guides were very professional, and most of all, we felt secure. Robert was an excellent driver to the point that I could fall asleep whilst he's driving if i really wanted to.
Hahndorf was amazing, and we got to have a nice tea and shop at the Beerenberg Farm. There was a mini-game at Hahndorf while we were there, where you have to find the elf posters and post the correct answer to an online form, ran by the community. It was a nice little activity during our stopover.
On the way to the wineries they drove us to the Herbig Family Tree, to which we asked how the heck did the parents reproduced around that tree with all their children... do ask that on your way there.
We had a great lunch at Lambert Estate (I had the charcauterie board) which matched well with their reds. Rusdale had some very interesting wines as well as Murray Street. All up, we came back with 9 bottles!

This was an excellent tour and worth every dollar!! We saw so many great spots and we really felt like we made the most out of the day. Roy was beyond attentive and patient, he made sure we spend enough time in the places we found most interesting. I highly recommend this tour, we just cannot recommend it enough. We had originally booked online to do a tour of the wineries in Adelaide Hills but the day before this was changed to do Barossa and Hahndorf. Very disappointing and nothing we could do as we were coming in by cruise ship.
We were disappointed as we did not want to do Hahndorf, only wineries.
Our tour guide met us at our cruise ship then we picked up another 2 people in Adelaide city.
Our first stop was at Beerenberg for morning coffee.
We were then given free time in Hahndorf which we felt was too long.
Lunch and first wine tasting was at Lambert estate. The lunch was just ok, we picked the tasting board but we could have done with more bread and crackers.
The girl who took us through the wines was awful, didn’t seem o know a lot about the wines and service was very slow.
We then visited Rusden and then our favourite one Murray Street. The lady there who did the tastings was excellent.
Would have given 5 stars if we had got the tour we had originally booked.

Hi Irene thank you for your review yes unfortunately we had no other bookings for the original tour which would have made it impossible to do. Most companies will just cancel on you outright however we do have multiple vehicles doing multiple tours and that's why I offered whether you would like to do they Hahndorf Barossa Tour. This is also more expensive than your original tour as it is a tour of two regions of 75 km apart but we did not charge you the extra and I do understand that it was not your original booking however I'm glad that you found Murray Street charming and had a day out exploring.
When people book this particular tour they book due to the fact that Hahndorf is a German town to explore and that they may not want a whole day of wine touring therefore we only do the lunch at Lambert estate and 2 wineries in the Barossa rather than what you originally would like to have done would have been a whole day of wineries but unfortunately that was not to be on that particular day due to no other bookings for Adelaide Hills.
Best Regards
Greig

Visiting the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills and Hahndorf on a day trip with Roy is not to be missed! Roy was a fantastic driver/guide and absolutely hilarious! A really, really nice guy who clearly loves his role, he made sure our day was full of fun. I especially appreciated how flexible he was in adjusting the timings and visits to suit those of us on the tour.
Lunch at the German Spoon in Hahndorf was included and was excellent. Not the usual institutional style catering that is often provided on organized tours! This was a quality restaurant with fresh, well cooked food and we could choose from an extensive menu. This is something that sets CP Tours apart from others.
If you book a tour, cross your fingers that you'll get Roy! You won't be disappointed. He's the best!

We had a great day out with Hayley our guide. It was only a small group, so very enjoyable. The highlight being the stop at Lambert Estate winery, with a great lunch and wine tasting. We are not big wine drinkers, so the explanation of each wine and the processes involved in making the wines was exceptional by Gavin at Lambert Estate plus Hayley and Rob. Plenty of time at all the other stops on the tour, a great way to see and experience the Barossa in a day. It was a very enjoyable day.

Excellent tour. We had Greig the owner of CP Tours as our tour guide and he was so knowledgeable about the local area and of course the local wines.
The whole experience felt very personal from the moment we were picked up outside our hotel until we were dropped again some 8 hours later.
There was plenty of time to view the town of Hahndorf before we had lunch and the first of the wine tasting experiences at Lamberts Winery. The lunch was fabulous and the choice of the winery’s on this tour (3 in total including Lamberts) added to the overall experience as they were all smaller more boutique winery’s done of which were still family owned.
A fabulous day overall and really good value for money.
Thank you Greig and CP Tours.

The 3 wineries selected plus the little stops along the way were fantastic.
Were really appreciated the cup of coffee/tea at the start of the trip and would have loved one at the end.
The van was so comfortable and the guide did his utmost to entertain and educate us.
Thanks for the bottled water too!
This trip was a great mix of local highlights and divine wines.
I thoroughly recommend it.
