      A very good service
This service is excellent. We took our car both ways to and from Kangaroo Island. The service from booking to travel was seamless and efficient. Booking on line is easy, on arrival at Port it's clear what you have to do, loading the car great, check in staff friendly and helpful and the boat is comfortable. A very good service which is recommended.

A terrible experience on one of the most expensive Car Ferry trips in the world.
Appalling customer relations from the disgusting manner commencing in which way the car parking operators talk to drivers to the cafe staff. It is akin to a Faulty Towers episode ie ‘this ferry would be a lot easier to operate if there weren’t any cars or passengers!’ . Japanese visitors were co fused, frustrated and talked down to - racism at its worst. I strongly suggest those staff dealing with passengers be much better trained. In summary, a terrible way to commence a holiday on K.I. Never again thanks.

      AMAZING Kangaroo Island Day Trip
It was a seamless trip to Kangaroo Island that was booked through Sealink. The lady who made changes to the pick up, by advising of the parkade closest to the bus depot, was pleasant, helpful and efficient. The air conditioned bus departed punctually and the bus driver courteously explained what we were to expect on the trip to Cape Jervis. We boarded the ferry and departed on time for Kangaroo Island. The cafe on board sells coffee and light meals. It is good to take snacks. The ferry trip was very smooth. The Sealink bus left for Seal Bay Conservation Park. We were able to see the seals quite close up. The guide was very knowledgeable and outlined the dangers to us and the seals if their environment was not respected. We stopped for lunch that was included in the booking. The bistro was functional and the staff pleasant. The meal of a warm chicken salad and cheesecake was ample and tasty. Tea and coffee was provided and cold drinks can be purchased. We were then taken to Remarkable Rocks which are truly well-named. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world. There was plenty of time to take photographs. Admirals Arch was the next stop and has accessible boardwalks to the bottom. The last place to visit was the Wildlife Conservation Park. We saw koalas, penguins, chickens, echidna, parrots and kangaroos. The most endearing were the kangaroos. They could be fed and the kangaroos eating from your hands is unforgettable. The ferry trip back saw dolphins chasing the ferry. The bus driver, Will, had a wealth of knowledge on the local flora and fauna and amiably answered every question asked. He stopped to give everyone photo opportunities at magnificent parts of the Island. The Sealink day trip is really well organised. I would recommend the trip as we got to see so many sights in a day which would be exhausting if done on your own. I uploaded a short video of my trip on my YouTube channel LaraLise life & crafts

Long day on a coach to visit Kangaroo Island
Very long day. Pick up 6.30am, return 10.30pm. In that time spent 11 hours on the coach, 2 hours on the ferry, and only 3 hours at the 4 attractions, plus lunch. Far too much travel, only 30 minutes allowed at each attraction until we spent another 2 hours driving to the next one. Not a worthwhile use of my holiday time. Far too expensive to look at seals, rocks and kangaroos for 2 hours

      Excellent day at Kangaroo Island.
The tour guide, Will was very knowledgeable of the island. The scenery is amazing and the tour locations were better than we could have expected.

Smooth sailing all the way on the Ferry.
Easy computer booking process, then easy boarding and sailing on the days of our visit. Only the driver is allowed to take the car on the boat, anyone else in the car needs to board via the gangway. Everything ran smoothly, a great way to come to fabulous KI.

Great way to see the highlights of KI
This was a great way to see some main attractions on the island. Some of the scenery was absolutely breathtaking and we were fortunate to see lots of the animals in the wild and also at the fauna sanctuary. Our guide and driver Hamish absolutely made the tour by sharing his amazing knowledge of the island and the Australian flora and fauna. Would definitely recommend!

Great service on this notoriously rough crossing
The Ferry crossing to Kangaroo Island is extremely efficient and well managed by Sealink. The staff are very friendly and there are plenty of amenities at both sides of the crossing . Toilets cafe good coffee etc . Also lots of brochures I fully recommend getting the KI one with map if you don’t already have one . We were not on a guided tour we drive our own hire car . Note only some hire companies will let you take your vehicle to KI we used East Coast cars who were great . The crossing itself is notoriously rough even in summer, it’s all to do with prevailing winds and currents .the Sealink s service is the only one you can take to KI but despite the monopoly they are efficient very clean boats. But don’t expect a calm sea !!

Thank you Scott, our fun bus driver
The bus tour was the highlight. The itinerary covered a wide variety of spectacular sights and experiences, lunch was an unexpected delight with tasty fresh chicken salad and cheesecake dessert, and the good humour, extensive knowledge and entertaining banter of Scott, the bus driver, made the day for me. It was great to surrender the car and allow SeaLink to provide a fabulous day out. The ferry crossing was a bit rough but the staff took care of us and advised us how to ensure minimum seasickness so the uneventful experience of swells was a fun part of a great and memorable day.

Too much time on the bus, not enough time at each stop.
This was a 16 hour day, which sounds like good value, but we spent 10 or 11 hours on the bus. Whilst the scenery is lovely, there is virtually no wildlife to see along the way. We were staying in Glenelg, so had to get up at 5am to get a taxi into Adelaide centre to get on the bus. The ferry crossing was quite rough and the ferry was late arriving onto the island. We then headed to Seal Bay only to find that, because we were late, we were not able to go down onto the beach because they had other groups booked. We did walk along the boardwalk to look across at the sea lions, but no close encounters. They were all a long way off. Very disappointing. There was absolutely no leeway, so if sea lions are your passion, you may be disappointed. Lunch was included and was very nice, but no choice in what we had. The afternoon was filled with lots of driving and short stops at each destination. We were only given 30 minutes to see the fur seals at Admirals Arch, another 30 minutes at Remarkable Rocks and a very brief photo opportunity to see the views across the bay on the way back. We did have 50 minutes at the wildlife park where the guide rushed us through feeding the kangaroos, seeing the koalas and pelicans and talking very fast about the other animals they have there. Some people went off to hold a koala, but they did not get to see the kangaroos because there was not time to do both. All in all, each stop was very good, just not enough time. The Island is big and spread out, so it is difficult to see and do everything in one day and will always involve lots of driving. In hindsight I wish we had spent a couple of days on the island and not tried to squeeze everything into one day. After getting off the ferry on the way home, the bus driver very kindly did a short detour to drop us in Glenelg, which saved us a half hour taxi ride back from Adelaide centre. We got back to our hotel just after 10 pm.

      High praise for Sealink staff
Sealink is an understanding company. We are a couple of grey nomads and I completely stuffed up the booking by not telling them that I was pulling a trailer. Even though there ferries were pretty booked up, they did manage to find a place for our rig. This involved waiting for one or two ferries to come and go, but they very kindly reversed the rig onto the ferry for us. On the return journey, I had a grey moment and completely forgot that we were supposed to be at the ferry at 10:30 and I turned up at 12. They could have rescinded my fair, but instead they rescheduled us for the first ferry the following morning. I have nothing but praise for the excellent service demonstrated by Sealink.

Staff are a great support and asset to you
My 89-year-old mother and I had a fantastic experience on KI. It was wet and raining for our ferry ride over and the staff supported and helped my Mum get on and off the boat with no prompting. They were so kind and friendly to her. She felt safe while I drove the car on and off. A fabulous start to our holiday, thank you.

After much consideration, we picked this tour because it offered a great way to get around the island without disrupting our pre booked accommodation. It’s an early start – 6:15 am pickup from the hotel and drop off at well past eleven pm in our case, but the early start was well worth it. A very pleasant bus drive from Adelaide down to Cape Jervis, where we caught the ferry to Penneshaw.

The highlight of the day (for me) had to be the Raptor Sanctuary. It was a terrific show, with the bird handlers showing off their highly intelligent and well trained charges, who seemed to enjoy the show (and the treats) as much as the audience did!

Other visits included the Eucalyptus Oil Factory, the Honey Farm with many great products on offer – don’t miss their honey icecream! - and the False Cape Winery. The winery tasting was well organized, ran very smoothly and had some lovely wines on offer. Sadly, no sparkling wine is made there.

Must mention our bus driver Adam who took us around the island, seemed to know everybody and had a wealth of information available on everything to do with the Island. He was a great Shepherd of Lost Sheep, assuring us that (a) he knew which bar we were in and (b) he wouldn’t leave without us!

From pick up to first experience was 4+ hours. Our driver was late and provided no apology. We were left standing on a street corner @ 06.15hrs. En route we stopped at different locations to pick up supplies for ferry company eg., magazines and cakes for the ferry’s cafe! This added to an already long transfer time. Upon arrival on Kangaroo Island we were met by an enthusiastic guide Di. Without her on the tour it would have been disastrous! We set off to our first location BUT en route we had yet to pick up other passengers who had spent the previous day/night on the island. Due to their late arrival we missed the start of our bird experience @ 11.30 hrs. Bearing in mind that this tour commenced @ 06:40 hrs. Nevertheless the bird experience was informative and entertaining. The remaining 3 locations Eucalyptus farm, Honey farm and wine tasting were very basic and designed to sell their produce. On the equally long journey back to Adelaide a further delay was experienced due to the pick up of SeaLink’s post!! Arrival back at our hotel 23:00 hrs.

Dear 634yvettem, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your one day tour. We are sorry to learn some aspects of the tour did not meet your expectations. Kangaroo Island is quite large and we highly recommend a few days to get around to all the main attractions. However, for travellers who only have a day, the one day tour covers a lot of ground and visits most of the main attractions the island is so famous for, and we appreciate the travel time required to get to and from the island, given its distance from Adelaide, does make for a long day. Thank you for your kind words about our Tour Guide Di. We are very lucky to have such enthusiastic Guides. They really make the experience! On behalf of us all, we hope to see you back on Kangaroo Island again one day. Kind regards Blaire from SeaLink.

The day started well with an excellent bus trip to the ferry. Ferry ride was superb as weather conditions were outstanding. The Raptor Domain was well worth the visit and interacting with the birds was beautiful. Scotty, our tour guide provided non-stop commentary and had terrific knowledge to share about the island. The visit to the Eucalyptus distillery, where we also had lunch, was probably the lowlight of the day. Our lunch was below average and very disappointing. One staff member serving food was off-putting and lacked hospitality. The visits to the Honey Farm and False Cape winery were excellent in comparison. Both these venues were run professionally and were educational. The wine was excellent and the honey farm products superb. Dinner, at our own expense was had at The Shy Wren and the food was superb. As our ferry was delayed by some time, we waited at the Penneshaw Pub, which was lovely. It’s a long day, starting at 6:15am and we made it back to our hotel at 11:10pm, but it was enjoyable. I would strongly encourage the tour operator to assess the lunch menu provided as part of the tour. I would also suggest to participants to take snacks for the journey.

Hi Farmy_Ross Thanks for taking the time to leave us with a review from your Kangaroo Island Tour. We are sorry to hear the tour did not meet your expectations and your feedback will be reviewed. In regards to wildlife sightings, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will see wildlife unless we are visiting a wildlife park. During the warmer months, kangaroos and other native wildlife are often seeking shelter from the heat. We hope you still enjoyed your time on Kangaroo Island. Best regards, The SeaLink KI Team

Thoroughly enjoyed my tour even though it was a long day. We had a great guide (Hamish) who took pride in his work. The stops were of great interest - birds of prey at Raptor Domain, Clifford's Honey, Emu Ridge Eucalyptus distillery & False Cape winery. Recommend everyone have a few days here as much do do & see.

Easy to book on line with all relevant information needed supplied.
Ferry was clean and on time
The coach captain was friendly and informative
The tour covered so much of the island, something would be near on impossible to do alone in one day
Lunch was good, but nothing to get excited about
A very full day and back on the ferry just in time

We took our car to self-explore Kangaroo Island. The Sealink Ferry is the only way to cross with a car.
The Ferry staff were very welcoming at Cape Jarvis, explaining loading and unloading procedures very clearly making the experience very pleasant.
The ferry trip across took about 45 minutes.
The staff were very friendly and courteous. Well worth using if you are taking your car.

The start of the day was not great. The first bus driver from Adelaide to ferry was super rude. Once we were on Kangaroo Island Scott our tour guide picked us up and then he was marvellous. He is soo knowledgeable about KI and his story were awesome to hear. The several stops were great however there is so much to see on Kangaroo island that we only just scraped the surface. Would have love to stay a full week.
The day was very long with over 9 hours of travel time.

We appreciate you sharing your feedback about our guide Scott. We are very lucky to have such knowledgeable guides, they really make the experience! We will be sure to share your kind words with him. We were also concerned to read that the start of your tour was not great and would appreciate the opportunity to investigate this further. As we cannot identify your booking with us by your username, we kindly ask if you could please email us with your details at feedback@sealink.com.au. We look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards, Blaire at SeaLink
