Our family of six (including 2 grandparents) took the 3 hour kayak guided tour from Angas Inlet Boat Club Port Adelaide. Our guides Kim & Zander provided basic instruction, a life jacket each & helped us into the water in our 2 man kayaks. They guided us into the open waters and across to the mangroves where we weaved in and out of the canopy laden course. That's where our new found skills were put to the test; manouvering under low hanging branches and avoiding others in the group. We then headed to the various ship wrecks along the shoreline while keeping an eye out for dolphins. Sadly only spotted a fin from a far off distance before returning to base.
All in all a great expetience. If you have shoulder, arm or back issues you may want to consider your ability as it is somewhat challenging.
Can't praise our guides highly enough. They were exceptional in looking after us and providing pandling advice when we needed it, always ensuring we were safe and not left behind.
Advise that you wear a hat, long pants & sleeves & lots of blockout as it gets hot out there. Take water too.
It can be a little difficult to spot this group at first as they are located at the far end of the Garden Isand carpark in a gated area. Other kayak tours are on the lawns of the carpark but that's not this group.

Thank you for taking time to review us and we are thrilled you all enjoyed your kayak tour with us. And yes good advice to cover up from the elements and take water with you and we do recommend this in our reminder email that is sent prior to the tour.

Had a fantastic day watching the dolphins and paddling into the mangroves. It was so peaceful and serene. We did our own tour with a guided map. A great Company to deal with, they were well prepared with life jackets & small waterproof bags to put your items in, ie your phone, wallets, keys etc. Very Professional and lovely to deal with – nothing was too much trouble. Will be back again most definitely. Amazing! Make sure you go to the very end of the car park through the gated area

I was very impressed with the Dolphin sanctuary kayak tours as I was lucky enough to see a few dolphins during the tour. The tour guide was also extremely knowledgeable and gave you a good understanding of the mangrove area where the dolphins are located. Great value for money and would highly recommend the Kayak tours for everyone to experience.

The tour guide (Zac) had in-depth knowledge about the dolphins due to his marine biologist study. Our family of 4 went on Australia Day 2021 in the morning. It was 24 degrees overcast with mild breeze at time. Our tour group had 9 people, which was not too big. The day before had heavy rainfall & brought out lots of mosquitoes at the mangroves. Lucky that the tour guide was prepared with insect repellant (& I was wearing long-sleeved jacket)!

Zac was great in spotting dolphins & he pointed out 2 to us. Overall, the tour was great as it was a peaceful way to enjoy nature. The mangroves part was a fun way to challenge your kayaking skill in tight space! I definitely had fun and will do it again.

This was a lovely morning of kayaking in some of the most idyllic rivers and creeks I’ve ever seen! Our guide (Andrew) was not only super friendly, but also extremely knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions we had. Although it is a little out of the city, he helped us to get back into the city and made the entire experience stress free. We saw dolphins very close in their natural habitat, and learnt about their swimming behaviours, mating routines and so much more! If you love the environment and dolphins I couldn’t recommend this more. Great value considering the time you get on the water, and what you get to see and know. A fantastic small business which I’m sure will flourish in the future! Couldn’t recommend more.

An absolutely awesome guided kayak tour. As someone who has fished from Garden Island before on several occasions, I had no idea that the estuarine mangrove creeks on Torrens Island even existed. And what a treat they were to see and paddle upstream on. That, and the ship’s graveyard along with the dolphins coming up to breathe right in front of us. Top rating, and top value for money. If you have kids over 9 and not afraid of rowing on water for three hours, totally recommend as a family activity. Just be prepare to row…a lot.

Thank you so much for your 5 star review, we agree the area we kayak in is so beautiful and peaceful and most people who have lived their whole life in Adelaide have no idea it is even there. We hope to see you again some day.

Kayaks were comfortable. Guide was knowledgeable. Sadly didn’t actually see any dolphins, we understand they are wild, therefore no guarantee, did not affect our experience.
The thing that really hurt the experience for us - we had one couple in our group that was extremely slow, so we spent half our time out in the kayaks just sitting and waiting for them to catch up. As a result we were not able to explore the shipwrecks at all. In my opinion they should have the individuals rate themselves based on ability and have the more experienced kayakers leave first. If any have over estimated their abilities they can always fall back to the slower/less experienced group. It would make the experience better for everyone.

Thank you for your feedback. It is most unfortunate that you had some slower kayakers in your group that obviously affected the tour on the day. We do hope you enjoyed the beautiful mangrove creeks and had plenty of time to explore them. From past experience trying to segregate groups does not always work, but thank you for the suggestion. We do try to make the experience best for everyone and we are always looking at improving.

Booked a tour with a few mates after hearing positive things through trip advisor reviews. Can easily say the reviews were bang on! Had an amazing afternoon kayaking through some mangroves where we saw five dolphins.

Our guide Andro was super informative and knew all the ins and outs of the ecosystem as well as the native history of the area. Would definitely recommend giving a go if you are in Adelaide! One of mates had never kayaked before and Andro ensured he was drown proof in no time at all! Perfect for beginners and those who like a challenge.

The weather was perfect, the water was like glass, our guide Zac was extremely knowledgeable and we learned lots about dolphins and mangroves. Oh, and we got to see dophins frolicking in the water! The kayaking is easy (even if you haven't had any previous experience) and the pace is slow and steady. The side trips into the mangroves are quite something. It was a bit surreal to be in the midst of this gorgeous little spot of nature in the middle of quite an industrial area. Can't fault anything!
