If you did not upgrade to hotel pickup and dropoff from the central Adelaide business district, make your own way to Goolwa Wharf to meet your 16-seat boat.

Head upstream through Clayton, passing Duck's Hospital and getting up-close riverside views from a boat, with morning tea service. Pass Coorong National Park's Lake Alexandrina and through the lock at Tauwitchere Barrage, pausing for lunch at Cattle Point.

Learn about the Aboriginal Ngarrindjeri history and visit ancient midden sites, and then stop at Southern Ocean Beach or Barker's Knoll for a walk through the sand dunes. Proceed through the mighty Murray Mouth, around Hindmarsh Island, and move on to the Goolwa Barrage, where your small boat allows you to get up close with the resident New Zealand fur seals.

You return to Goolwa Wharf to either make your own way home, or if you choose the transportation upgrade, you are returned to Adelaide by coach.

A cruise on Murray River through Coorong National Park is the best way to see the wildlife and scenery, including Murray Mouth, Hindmarsh Island, and Lake Alexandria. Listen to a guide's commentary as you visit Goolwa Barrage, Aboriginal history sites, and the sand dunes at Barker's Knoll. Your group of just 16 leaves from Goolwa Wharf, and its small size ensures plenty of attention from your guide.
  • National Park fees included, no additional costs along the way
  • Morning and afternoon tea, included lunch allows travelers to pack light
  • Sightseeing cruise is the best way to take in the sights in the area
  • Live commentary for more history that you’d get traveling independently

Wonderful family experience!

Our family booked the whole boat (14) to help celebrate my 84 year old father’s birthday and cannot recommend this experience highly enough! 4 generations, aged 3 to 84 all had a ball! We were blessed with beautiful weather, which helped, but the cute little...More

Lovely trip, shame about the weather...

A very informative trip along the Coorong and surrounding area. Small vessel which resulted in a very intimate trip. Food provided was very good and generous (lunch too big for me) accompanied with fresh cockles for those who wanted them. A couple of walks were...More
