Absolute incredible experience - lunch was sensational and our tasting with Rick as our host was brilliant. We came to the region specifically for o visit to Penfolds and it exceeded expectations.

Such a poor experience we left after 3 samples and 4 different wine experts. We were there over an hour and it dragged on and eventually we just left. Very disappointing as we live in Canada and this was our wine of choice. Lots of staff just standing around not to impressive.

Having eaten at Magill Estate Kitchen on Sunday (which was excellent) just passed, we decided to go to the celler door for a tasting prior. Was a good experience, although it seemed as if everyone was running around a lot. We didn’t have a booking however felt lucky to be taken care of. Would go again on a quieter day.

Came here to try a few wines and was blessed to be looked after by Ann who made the visit better than the wines. Her knowledge and experience was amazing and made the difference. Highly recommended.

Josh was a very informative and engaging tour guide through the winery. He then provided a detailed tasting, answering questions and walking us through a beautiful tasting flight, finishing with the delicious Magill Estate wine. Perfect way to spend some time in Adelaide. Highly recommend!

We did the tour along with the tasting afterwards, Josh looked after us throughout. Amazingly informative when it came to the history of penfolds, the wine making process past and present, and a thorough knowledge when it came to the different tasting notes. Causing us to buy more wine then we intended. Cannot recommend Josh enough! Overall the experience was amazing and well worth it!

Our guide was great very informative and engaging with the history of Penfolds. Nice small group and not rushed with the tastings of some great wines. Ended up spending the afternoon having a meal and a bottle of wine, food was incredible as was the staff!!

Fabulous visit, tour and tasting at this iconic vineyard. The ultimate tasting which was 6 top wines also includes a taste of many of the top wines - The Grange, RWT and The Yattarna Chardonnay to name a few. Our guide was Ivan who was incredibly helpful and informative in this fantastic cellar door and vineyard tour. The cellar door is very spacious and merges the old history of the Penfolds site with the very modern cellar door.

Booked this "Ultimate experience" with expectation to have the fine wine tasting including world reknown Grange in a beautiful, calm settings as per homepage. It turned out, not. Tour in the winery was informative, yet in a quite rush, A true disssapointment was when we were sat at a corner of an open loud lounge for $150 worth wine tasting. Just a small coffee table was prepared on which they jammed glasses and price lists. It was not possible to examine the colour of the wine as the table was black and sun reflection from the window behind was too strong. Explanation and walk-through of wine was one-sided. the guide walked away soon after he poured us wine. May be the reason that they were occupied with VIP or private function guests in private tasting rooms, but we did not feel our experience was worth the price.

This is fabulous tour and tasting experience. The tour by Ivan was hugely informative and took us through the original old workings of the circa 1844 estate, complete with a visit to Dr Penfold’s original house and office and the original stone buildings and cellars. Marvel at the Grange Hermitage cellar and feast your eyes at 1950s wines. The tasting includes 8 different wines varying from $40 to $135 per bottle. Very good value for money. Without doubt the best value for money tasting I’ve ever had.

Dreadful It was worse on my second recent visit. I usually spend $3000 or more on Penfolds wine but wont any more. Even with a penfolds status I was treated worse than poorly and had to cop some standard tasting menu so I ended up leaving. Total waste of time. Will never go back

Penfolds Magill Estate Cellar Door We walked-in at the last minute and were lucky enough to be able to join the cellar door tour that includes the tasting at the end. The tour was excellent done by Ivan. He really shows us the warm hospitality and displays an extensive knowledge about the estate. The tour was interactive, informative and entertaining. We couldn't ask for more. We would definitely recommend this when you are in Adelaide. A very memorable day and experience indeed! It was that good!

We had a private tasting experience at the winery which is in such a lovely location in Adelaide. Despite the rainy day we enjoyed many wines with an excellent wine maker explaining all the wines. It was a lovely afternoon with no pressure at all to purchase at the end of the tasting. Well worth a visit

FOR THE LOVE OF GRANGE, CULINARY DELIGHTS & MUSIC Did this tour today and must say it was fabulous. Sam our tour guide has amazing knowledge and made this an experience to remember. Small group, two different vintage Grange tastings plus a couple of other delicious reds and a port, very tasty food, a private tasting room with music from the iconic Grange Record Player … a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend. Thank you Sam for making this such a special experience and sharing your extensive knowledge and love of wine with us.
