If you are going to visit wineries in the Adelaide area, then Small Batch Wine Tours is the only way to go. My wife and I signed up for two tours with Matthew and his team, both in the Barossa Valley. The first tour was run by Matthew, the head of Small Batch Tours and the second was run by Chris. Both gentlemen knew everything they needed to know about the Barossa and its wines. Moreover, they were focused on understanding what we wanted from the tour. When we signed up for the tours, we were asked about our preferences in wines and the experience we were looking for. Matthew then made sure we visited wineries that matched our taste. We were provided with the list of wineries matching those perferences that we would visit well ahead of time. And he continually discussed our expriences with us during the first tour, so that when it came time for the second tour, the list of wineries to be visited had been revised to more closely match the wines we most enjoyed. Moreover, Matthew was constantly providing us with information which would help us enjoy our vacation in Adelaide, whether it was places to dine in the Adelaide area or Barossa Valley or wineries that he thought we would enjoy visiting on the days we were not taking a tour with Small Batch WIne Tours. Finally, we ordered wine from various wineries to be shipped overseas to our home. Without any request from us, Matthew coordinated with the shipping company to ensure that they understood that all of our various orders were part of the same shipment. We cannot have asked for any better service or a better experience in the Barossa Valley. Within 24 hours of our first tour with Small Batch Wine Tours my wife and I knew we would be coming back. And next time, before we make plans we are going to talk to Matthew first about what to do. It is not what you know, it is who you know. And if you are wine tasting in the Adelaide region, you need to know Matthew and his team.

Such a great, personalized experience. They asked for a brief survey to be completed ahead of time and really listened to our expectations. Matt is well known at the wineries and gives a lot of great information about the region between stops. We discovered two wineries we never would have found otherwise.

From the moment Tom picked us up in Adelaide we knew we would have an amazing day. Tom's extremely knowledgeable but isn't a nonstop talker. He quickly discovered what interested us most and provided great information. We toured 4 wineries and were treated to a fabulous lunch. We've done multiple wine tours in NZ and Australia on our trip and this was by far our favorite!

We were out with Small Batch in January 2024. We visited 4 wineries and Salopian for lunch (which was so good). We also stopped to see the D'arenberg Cube, however, we chose not to go in as it was busy. We chose to go to smaller wineries, the first one, we were like the only people there. And then at the last stop, we were on a buggy in the vines, tasting wine and seeing the landscapes. It was so fun and a different way to taste wine.

I’ve done a few wine tours over the years, and this was one of the best. Our driver/guide Tom, did a terrific job of explaining the day’s itinerary, and provided commentary and answered our questions during the drive. My tour included stops at four wineries: Yangarra, Wirra Wirra, D’Arenberg (along with a visit to the cube and exceptional Salvadore Dali Exhibit) and Samuel’s Gorge. Had a fabulous day with Tom as our guide. We visited 4 high quality wineries and a lovely lunch was included. Tom was a gentleman and very knowledgeable about the wines and the area. Would highly recommend.

An excellent day in McLaren Vale at Yangarra Estate, Lino Ramble, Gemtree Wines and Samuel’s Gorge. All the wines were delicious and our guide, Chris, was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! Lunch at the McLaren Vale hotel was very enjoyable too. We were glad we didn’t have to drive! Thanks to everyone!

This was an exceptional day. Matthew was easy to work with, spent time understanding what we were interested in and organised a great day out. New wineries we hadn't tried before and a couple of old favourites. A great lunch. He is both knowledgeable and good company. It really was a superb way to see the area.

We spent a highly enjoyable three days touring Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills with Matthew, Paul and Chris. All three were knowledgeable, exceedingly accommodating and friendly, going out of the way to ensure we were well taken care of. Matthew's recommendation of restaurants was very good, and we were fortunate to be able to taste some of the best foods in Adelaide in addition to the fine wines at the wineries we visited.

While escaping the cold in Canada, my husband and I toured both Barossa and McLaren Vale regions with Small Batch Wine Tours. Matthew, Paul and Chris shared great stories about the wines, vineyards, regions, history, viticulture and geology .... Anything we asked about, they had the answer and were most keen to share as much information as you'd like. They tailored our days with vineyards we requested which was greatly appreciated. Since returning home, it has been exciting to wander through the wine shops, to see labels from places we visited and to actually find some of our favorite wines from those days touring with Small Batch. A 5 star rating from us with sincere thanks to all of you for such informative and engaging days.

We have just returned from a wonderful day in the Adelaide Hills with our guide, Paul. He was marvellous company, his Mercedes van was very comfortable, and Small Batch arranged 4 stops during the day where we enjoyed fine wine, cheese, chocolate etc and were treated like royalty. What a wonderful day! We we’re staying in Barossa Valley for a couple of days and had the good fortune to have booked a wine tour with Small Batch Wine Tours. Pick up was punctual and although there could have been up to six people on the tour we struck lucky that nobody else had booked the same day (surprisingly). Our driver, Paul, was excellent. He had a superb knowledge of wines and vineyards as well as an exceptional knowledge of local history which made our day so much more pleasurable. We visited four cellar doors and had lunch at Harvest Kitchen which was also a delight. If you’re going to book a wine trip locally I’d highly recommend booking with Small Batch Wine Tours.

The experience was excellent, my friends and I were extremely happy with our private tour. Matthew was excellent and had a lot of knowledge of the area. The tour was relaxing and we never felt we were being rushed.
