What an amazing day. Peter, our driver, was very knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour and made everyone feel very welcome. The tour was very personable and not rushed. Would recommend this tour to anyone who wants an oversight to the areas outside of Adelaide City.

Bums on Seats are a great company to deal with. Prompt replies to all queries and friendly professional service. Unfortunately the tour I was booked on had to be cancelled at the last minute (No fault of Bums on Seats). Paul very kindly came to my accommodation to let me know and offered to do a short Tour of Adelaide for me and drive me to the Adelaide Hills where we had a coffee. There was no obligation on his part to do either as I received a refund. I really appreciated that he went out of his way to offer what he could.

Will definitely book with Bums on Seats again. Can't praise them enough.

Enjoyable tour and Paul was a wealth of knowledge and jokes. Only problem I had was the comfort of the van. Very bumpy and uncomfortable in the back. We arrived at our lunch destination just before 2pm so when we found somewhere we wanted to eat they had finished serving. Had a lovely lunch at another place though.

Itinerary and places we visited was fine, but tour guide (Paul) and transportation conditions were poor and since no food or activities were included, that’s really what we paid for.

(1) Condition of Transportation - The guide brought his 2 grandchildren onto the tour, and we were extremely cramped in the mini bus, with 4 adults in the back seat tightly packed against each other. While his 2 grandchildren comfortably occupied 2 seats in the front. He did at one point offer to swap his grand daughter onto the back row, but we didn’t want to be cramped against a stranger who wasn’t wearing a mask.

We were so hot and cramped in the back, with no windows, we had to request the air conditioning to be turned up multiple times. In the current Covid climate, the conditions were unacceptable.

(2) Guide behavior - At the start of the tour he explained why he and his grandchildren weren’t wearing a mask. But then he suggested passengers did not need to wear masks if they didn’t want to. In the current Covid climate, the local rules, and the confined space we were in, that is simply irresponsible.

There were multiple occasions of racist and sexist jokes made which I found offensive.

The itinerary was meant to have 6 stops, after the 4th stop the wine tasting, he didn’t even explain it, he just said ‘hope u enjoyed your day, this is the end of the tour’!

Then he tried to tell us we should all go to Glenelg to visit the beach, and catch a tram back into the city! But only if we all voted for it…. It was so obvious it was an attempt to drop us off near his home, so he didn’t need to drop us all off at our hotels in the city.

When some of us voted against that, he then requested for a detour to drop the kids off home first. Which I actually didn’t mind, but the whole process was just very unprofessional.

(3) Wine Tasting - before the wine tasting, he asked if everyone wanted to drink wine because there may not be seats to fit us all in! And if there are no seats, some of us won’t get to do the wine tasting.

I was very shocked that the wine tasting seats for the tour were not pre booked!

As I said, what we paid for on this tour was the transportation and the guide. The transportation condition was appalling and the guide was unprofessional.

He did at one point offer to swap his grand daughter onto the back row, but we didn’t want to be cramped against a stranger who wasn’t wearing a mask. Not true … 1/ my Grand Children 2 x 11 & 15 were in uniform and were training to run the BUMSONSEATS in the future.. everyone was offered their requested seats first. You were of bigger build and I offered you if you would like to sit in the front seat with me which you refused PS I haven’t seen my grand kids in two Sorry I brought them with me because I couldn’t afford to have a day off with them .. We were so hot and cramped in the back, with no windows, we had to request the air conditioning to be turned up multiple times. In the current Covid climate, the conditions were unacceptable. Well you had windows but they don’t open BUT not once on the day did you say anything to were I could have rearranged things to make YOU happy (2) Guide behavior - At the start of the tour he explained why he and his grandchildren weren’t wearing a mask. But then he suggested passengers did not need to wear masks if they didn’t want to. In the current Covid climate, the local rules, and the confined space we were in, that is simply irresponsible. Elly is 11 and doesn’t need to wear a mask and William has health reasons and is exempt.. That’s makes perfect sense that you have to wear a mask to sit next to someone on my bus but when you are the same distance at a table drinking wine it’s ok for you to drink with eat with talk with anyone at the same distance are you are on the bus ??? As I said if you all agree to not wear your masks ?? You are being recorded you can alll agree between you all if one person is not happy then you all wear them all day ?? I see in the video you had yours off on the way home ?? There were multiple occasions of racist and sexist jokes made which I found offensive. Lie I’m not racist I’m married to a black Women and I don’t tell offensive jokes in front of my grand kids Gee you were having a bid day hey ?? The itinerary was meant to have 6 stops, after the 4th stop the wine tasting, he didn’t even explain it, he just said ‘hope u enjoyed your day, this is the end of the tour’! And you didn’t say to me at the time I don’t want to go home even though it was 1/2 an hour over leaving time ?? Then he tried to tell us we should all go to Glenelg to visit the beach, and catch a tram back into the city! But only if we all voted for it…. It was so obvious it was an attempt to drop us off near his home, so he didn’t need to drop us all off at our hotels in the city. Nope don’t live near the beach ?? Years of experience after I take people back to the city they say “what’s the best way to get to Glenelg?? So I always offer at McLaren vale the chance to be dropped at Glenelg to maybe get a view of the sunset going down or eat and then make there own way home ?? Other tour companies that is their itinerary.. When some of us voted against that, he then requested for a detour to drop the kids off home first. Which I actually didn’t mind, but the whole process was just very unprofessional. Do your goggle search I dropped them off 2 ks from our house on the main rd for them to get exercise on the way home ..and there is no difference in distance in fact my rd is quicker in time. (3) Wine Tasting - before the wine tasting, he asked if everyone wanted to drink wine because there may not be seats to fit us all in! And if there are no seats, some of us won’t get to do the wine tasting. I was very shocked that the wine tasting seats for the tour were not pre booked! When I made the wine tasting booking I was informed of the new government mandates about the number of people in cellar doors so I rechecked who on board was actually tasting wine ?? To recount number very very professional don’t you think? As I said, what we paid for on this tour was the transportation and the guide. The transportation condition was appalling and the guide was unprofessional. If you do not speak up on the day and give me a chance to rectify things ? I would call this customer very very unprofessional PS Thanks for your great review

Booked this tour last minute. As there were only 3 of us we went in a large SUV. Went the scenic route to Hahndorf where we ate yummy cake with coffee then time to wander around. Paul kept up a running commentary as we drove through many small towns and told us the history of each one. At Vic Harbour we had plenty of time to explore Granite Island which is well worth the walk. We also had lunch here. I found a cute little vegan place down a side street and also a tiny art gallery. We visited a Mclarrenvale winery on our way back. Paul kindly dropped me right to my North Adelaide bnb. A great way to see the surrounding countryside without having to hire a car or drive.

I did like the tour even though you sit quite a long time in the bus. But you see a lot of the beautiful scenery around Adelaide. We had at each of the places we visited enough time to have a look around. Paul, our driver, had a lot of information to tell about the area. He also knows a lot of jokes, which some people enjoyed and some didn't....

Paul is a great tour guide. Full of knowledge and tips on places. Keeps you entertained and involved throughout the day. Paul makes you laugh and very relaxed. Paul is very considerate and thoughtful. Paul even went out of his way and dropped us off at our door on the return trip at Noarlunga so we didn’t have to catch the train back from the city. Will definitely be doing another tour with Paul Bums on Seats. Thanks for the amazing day Paul.

Great tour. Live commentary presented in an entertaining way. A good day seeing a number of things outside Adelaide. The tour is run efficiently and there is good value for money. Small group so very personal. We chose the full day highlights tour and were glad we did. Time to stroll in Hahndorf after a very enjoyable morning tea. Also time in Victor Harbor and some very nice eating establishments to choose from especially for fish and chips.

What an excellent tour, we started with a drive up through the hills with spectacular views and we even saw a koala in the tree. Next stop was at the beautiful toe of Hahndorf with some delicious coffee and cake and a walk around town. Next we stopped at Goolwa where we saw the Murray river go into the ocean, also has a gin distillery to taste at. Off to victor harbour, no trams were running but we rode some camels and enjoyed the seaside town. Then off to the cube, how cool, very eclectic, wine tasting and walk through the cube.

Awesome day great commentary. Nice small group catered to us. I would recommend and definitely will do another tour if we come back. Thanks for a great day.
