      Amazing trip!
This trip was amazing! I had the best time! And as a solo traveller it was a great bunch with a mixture of people who were all so lovely! The tour was packed full and I think it could be even better if it was a 4 day tour to fit a bit more in and spend a little longer at places. The guides were amazing and food was so good and dietary needs were SO well catered for! Would highly recommend!

KI is just amazing. Sleeping in a swag in an absolutely beautiful place is just so nice. Our guide Ric is such an awesome guide. He tries very hard to make the trip worth it. And also he makes amazing food for us. I also met so many interesting people. Best tour ever had!

The tour was a perfect experience. Rick is wonderful. He is a good cook, tourguide and bus driver. We experienced a lot and the time at the individual attractions was perfect.

Best tour in Australia! The tourguides, activities and environments are all the best I've ever had.
First of all, I'd like to say that there's absolutely nothing that could've made this trip better. A big round of applause for Dan and Emily who were my tourguides for this trip. Dan's knowledge about all the plants, rocks animals and cultural experiences blew me away. As smart as he is, he's also very funny and is a very social guide and always a good laugh for the whole group. Emily's experience for her age is very impressive and I'm very lucky to have had both on my tour. All the days were filled with loads of activities and I'm impressed with the quality of the activities even earlier in the tour. The Flinders Ranges blew me away and was a very good start for this trip. Cooker Pedy has such an unique vibe to it and was well worth the time. And of course the last part of the tour: Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta and Uluru were beyond gorgeous. I recommend this trip to literally anyone and it's well worth the money.

Tour packed to the brim with knowledge and fun!
Our guide Dan was full of knowledge of all wildlife. He pointed out and named all the creatures in our surrounds. It was an epic adventure. Even though we didn’t get to participate in the koala activity (because the station closes in the summer) we were allowed to stay at the station and got heaps of good photos of the koalas. Only the wine tasting activity was surprisingly the most disorganised and rushed which is a shame as I was looking forward to it, and had higher expectations of an SA winery. All the other activities were adventurous and informative. That coupled with Dan’s Aussie larrikin style made it all a real treat. Thank you for the memories untamed escapes !!

Best of South Australia desert and Sea.
A once in a lifetime tour with Dan our guide and storyteller. We explored the best of South Australia covering a range of towns and secluded beaches along the way. Dan was knowledgeable and response to the needs of the group ensuring everyone on our large your had an experience to remember.

      once in a lifetime adventure!
We had an absolute blast on the „Adelaide to Uluru“-tour!!! We had a fun group from all over and with mixed ages. Our tourguide Dan made sure everyone had a good time (and was safe), he‘s fun to be around and VERY knowledgable about wildlife, aboriginals and aussie-culture. When things didn’t went according to plan Dan stayed calm and fixed the situation. We saw heaps of wildlife and got great informations about flora and fauna along the way. The hikes were rather easy if you‘re medium fit, but be prepared for the heat - we were lucky with very moderate temps in December. see ya all in Kakadu with Johnny!

      Great experience and guide
Had a great as a family touring the Kangaroo Island with Untamed Escapes! Our guide Emily was very knowledgeable, fun and caring! She wanted everyone of us to get the best experience on this tour and we did! We also like the structure of the tour where a bit of conservation work was included. Will definitely recommend this to others.

A dream coming true, with an amazing tour (guide and group). Highly recommended for those who want to see the outback!
This tour was truly amazing and actually exceeded my expectations in so many ways! Seeing the various natures of the outback, sleeping under the stars, the most stunning sunrises and -sets in different places, learning about the various indigenous communities in the outback, holding a baby kangaroo (!!), and so many more things I could say. Most people in the group felt like family after only 8 days and our tour guide Joseph (Joe) was absolutely fantastic. Made us feel safe, we shared a lot of laughs, had a lot of (fun) facts about the places we crossed, took us on amazing hikes, and handled unexpected situations very well. Also the food quality was above expectations and really good catering for coeliacs like myself and other allergies/ dietary preferences (our group had 2 coeliacs, four vegetarians, a vegan, one nut allergy and one shellfish allergy, and everything went well and everyone had delicious food). Also, we had a very long drive (16 hours instead of 2.5 hours) on day 4 due to road closures because of heavy (unexpected) rainfall, but both Joe and the group only saw the positive side of that (now we got to see even more of SA ;)), which really heightened the group spirit. Too bad we had some passengers in the group that really did not know that they signed up for a camping trip (or even read the itinerary/ inclusions/ exclusions at all), where you sleep in REAL swags, help the guide with preparing the meals and the cleanups after, and not always have the possibility to charge your phone without a powerbank. Also, some did not quite understand that you have to have some kind of fitness level, as there are hikes for up to 10K that are real bush hikes, where you have to carry up to 3L of water and get up early (4AM) to not be walking in the extreme heat of the day. It affected the experience of the rest of the group in some way, but I think our tour guide handled the situations with these high maintenance people very well. Conclusion: this trip is 10/10 recommended if you want to see and learn a lot of the outback of Australia and get to know the culture, enjoy some basic camping and hikes up to 10K in the bushes, are willing to roll up your sleeves, and don't mind long drives and shorter nights. Also a recommendation: carefully read all the information that is presented on the website ;).

      Review with advice
Having always dreamed about exploring Australia I had high hopes and expectations and I received more than I could have expected. The beauty of Australia and its nature seen from hiking trails and lookouts, sleeping under the stars, sunrises and sunsets in stunning places were so rewarding. Moreover I appreciated the knowledge about nature and indigenous communities shared by our guide Joe. The unexpected highlight were the meals, I genuinely thought that with so many places to be seen and things to be done we will grab something on the go, but the food was so good even though we had quite many people with dietary restrictions. I think that we were lucky with our guide, he made me feel safe in the wild and have fan at the same time. The adventure trips are definitely my thing. And here comes my advice, you should read carefully the trip description and before coming you should prepare your self accordingly. Our guide had to spend a lot of time with 2 high maintenance passengers that probably hadn't read what the trip entailed. I hope that they had a good time as well, but they weren’t fit and prepared for the trip and it showed all the time influencing experience of the rest of the group. Don’t get me wrong the trip wasn’t that demanding and you need be able to hike for 2-3 hours a day carrying your water on easy to moderate trails. Just if you rather see your self in 5* resort than preparing shared meal by the trailer than consider if this experience is for you 😉. For me I’m already planing to come back to Australia and having another adventure trip in other part of the country.

A true 10/10 tour with the perfect guide!
What an amazing trip this was! Our guide Emily was super knowledgable about nature and its plants, animals, and all that stuff, which made this tour even exceed its expectations! The group was a good mix and the itinerary was just right: seeing the highlights of KI, doing some walks, spotting loads of wildlife, but also chilling at the beautiful beaches and visiting local businesses. Also loved the KI recovery initiative and conservation work, giving meaning to this experience. Plus, having our own campground but with all facilities needed was amaze. Can only recommend this tour to anyone!

      What a fabulous experience!
What a fabulous experience! Uluru to Adelaide, taking in the landscapes of the outback. We had seen them in photos but now we were standing amongst them! And we saw so much more than we ever anticipated. How wonderful to sleep in a swag under the stars! Our guide was very knowledgeable and his forward planning ensured every day was another incredible day to add to our memories and photos to take home with us. Thank you Garry from 9 very happy travellers for making our adventure so much fun. Would I recommend Untamed Escapes? Definitely!!

I do not recommend Untamed Escapes.
I recently undertook the 10 day camping tour from Adelaide - Perth.
Their website claims 'Unearth Australia with your expert guide', however this was not the case. The 'guide' had not completed the trip before, never been to any of places we were visiting and had no knowledge of the history or area we were travelling to. There was zero knowledge imparted and valuable time lost in finding our destinations and/or a good place to stop.
The company chose to allow the trip to run at full cost, with a new employee to lead the tour without providing the appropriate level of training or a mentor to learn from. This was negligent. It compromised the safety, enjoyment and value for money for its customers. At the very least we (the customers) should have been informed of the situation and possibly a discount offered as our trip essentially was a 'trial run.'

At the conclusion of the tour, Untamed Escapes requested feedback, which I provided. Their explanation was that this trip was their first after the Covid period and they had trouble recruiting new guides. All their previous employees had moved on to other careers. An apology was provided.

We visited many interesting places, undertook great hikes and saw some amazing scenery. However, I could have seen this on my own. The reason I choose to embark on a tour is to learn from knowledgeable guides about the history of the area and know exactly the best places to stop to maximise the time and enjoyment I have in a certain location.

Hi Claire @claireIP7839QE My name is Craig Haslam (Hassie), and I am the business owner. Thank you for your review of our 10-day Adelaide to Perth camping tour, and I think you have been more than fair with your comments. I don’t think we have had a similar review in all my years as the owner. The buck stops with me. I felt that Taz could handle the tour with support, but as per your feedback, I was wrong, and your experience with our company was unsatisfactory. And for that, I sincerely apologize. My Operations Manager, Brendan, did respond to your email feedback, but I would like to add some additional information. Although we have been running tours since 2004, this was our first camping tour post-COVID, and personally, I felt like we were starting the business all over again. This is not an excuse; in hindsight, I wish we had advised the passengers that we had a new Guide doing her first tour of the Nullarbor. Pre-COVID, when guides were readily available, guides would not do a trip like the 10-day Adelaide to Perth without having done a famil trip and working with a senior guide to learn the route but also understand what is required to operate camping tours. Unfortunately, as we lost all of our Senior Guides during COVID, we have recruited new Guides. Taz is great, and we are excited by her passion to learn, and we are sure she will develop into a great guide. But the first trip is difficult – for all of us, including me as the business owner. We had our intern, Demi, on board to support Taz, and we naïvely thought that they would be able to help each other, and it seemed all was going OK until the distance of the Nullarbor crossing. Whilst we have an Interpretative Manual for Guide with tour information, the first tour is about handling the journey and the subsequent trips, which is when that local knowledge you have read starts to flow. I regret not considering contacting the passengers to give them pre-tour advice to say that Taz was doing her first trip. To be honest, it never entered my mind as an option. It was more about supporting Taz through the tour with extra human resources (Demi), and in saying that, I personally still do not think we supported Taz well enough on her first trip. We believe that Taz will be a great guide with more training. Our new Operations Manager has recently overhauled our Guides training and induction processes, and since your complaint, we have implemented a new training policy as part of the Guides Training Program to ensure this never happens again. So, thank you for your fair assessment of our tour. As a company and business owner, I take this feedback on board, and we look to improve. I will contact you via phone to discuss the matter further, including compensation to make up for your disappointing experience. Sincerely, Craig "Hassie" Haslam Owner

Easily one of the best trips I've ever done! There is no better way to explore the south coast of Australia than the 10-day adventure tour. Brendan was an incredible guide - kept everyone positive through the tough days (long drives through the Nullabor & small spurts of rain) and made the trip special for each of us. He cooked some of the best meals I've ever had in my life - and this is on a camping trip!

Would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone who loves the outdoors and wants to explore a remote area of Australia. Some highlights for me were sandboarding in Talia, Hikes in Cape Le Grand Nat'l Park, and the winery/brewery tours in Margaret River.

Thanks to Brendan and Untamed Escapes for the lifelong memories!

We were fortunate to be part of a small group guided by Jackson who we cannot praise highly enough. He was a brilliant guide giving enough but not too much information, and keeping everyone on track and involved in every aspect of the trip. He was knowledgeable and passionate about everything we did and provided meals way beyond our expectations.
We loved camping out in the swags and all the camping spots provided something different. The variety of activities was excellent, we especially enjoyed the hikes, beach time and crossing the Nullabor (even though it rained!).

The views, the wildlife and wildflowers throughout our whole trip were awesome in the fullest sense of the word. The itinerary was wonderful, and so professionally organised. In particular, Steve, our outstanding guide made the whole trip a wonderful experience for us - he was knowledgeable, thoughtful, extremely well organised and made everything appear seamless. We felt safe in his hands and cared for. We would definitely take another tour with Untamed Escapes!

This trip was one of a kind... I've never learnt so much about history, geology, indigenous practices, flora and fauna. Our guide Brendon is one of the best tour guides I've ever had and it was an absolute privilege to be able to learn from him. He made everything so engaging and exciting, and turned our tour of random people from around the world into a family that I'll never forget! The activities were so diverse and fun and I guarantee anyone to go on this trip will find themselves with new passions, new friends, different experiences and overall have a new perspective about the world! Thank you team Untamed Escapes :)

This tour has been absolutely amazing and was so much fun. You see fantastic landscapes, swim, hike, sit around camp fires and much more. The 10 days seemed to be over quickly.
The people on the tour were great and we became one big family.
Our guide Brendan was the best; very knowledgeable, he kept us entertained with fun and informative stories about geology, people, history and the solar system. And to top it off, we had very tasty dinners worth of any gourmet restaurant.
Simply the best tour I've ever been on.

Had an amazing 10 day trip. Met a great mix of people from all over the world. Did some amazing hikes, swam at beautiful beaches and saw stunning sights. Loved the swag camping and camaraderie. Our guide Janner was wonderful. He shared his passion for the land and wildlife; created a great atmosphere and made the whole trip a blast. Can definitely recommend.

I did the 10 day tour from Adelaide to Perth and it was just amazing. In the beginning I was a bit skeptical because I never slept in swags before but it was the best experience I had so far. Our tour guide Chris was just awesome, he always tried to please us. I’ve met some fantastic people and I’ve seen a lot of different places as the tour covers all the places worth seeing. And also the activities were great. I can only recommend this tour to everyone!! I really enjoyed the tour.

Speaking of stars, how incredible is it rolling out your swag each night and sleeping under them! It's normal to be nervous at first but most people miss there swag once they get back into a bed! This tour was amazing! We saw a lot of beautiful and different landscapes along the way and we did some really cool activities in those 10 days, including some hikes, surfing, sandboarding, swimming with dolphins and sealions, wave hunting and drinking at breweries/wineries!
Our guide Jackson is a really cool and easy-going guy who gave us really useful information about the things we saw and also about the Aboriginal culture!
The fact that Jackson wasn't just the guide but also really part of our group made it really fun and personal!
    I'd definitely recommend this tour!

The 10 day tour camping in swags was awesome. Coodlie Park Farm stay was remarkable as was the Nullarbor Plains, then crossing The Great Australian Bight .
All features on the trip were truly remarkable.
Brendan - our outstanding Guide & fantastic Chef kept us interested in the history, filled our bellies with the tastiest meals and he can carry a good tune when it comes to singing the songs.
Hope to be"on the road again" soon.
