About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- G5794RPhannahs0 contributionsHalf day must doI had the most fantastic experience on the Adelaide City Highlights tour and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment we hopped on the bus, Peter, our driver/ tour guide, made the entire trip unforgettable. Not only did he have an incredible depth of knowledge about Adelaide, sharing fascinating details and stories about the city's history, but his humour was absolutely top-notch! The pace of the tour was perfect, giving us enough time to take in the sights while keeping the energy high and lively. If you’re looking for a fun, informative, and genuinely enjoyable way to explore Adelaide, this tour is an absolute must.Written 16 March 2025
- scottbX5074TI0 contributionsBig bus tourOK, but this is a "big bus" tour, not the same service as you get with a good guide on a 10-12 seater. Also targeted at retirees. Not fantastic for younger travelers, but some good sight seeing.Written 15 March 2025

- W9493CVshannonc0 contributionsLoved it!This was a wonderful day with Peter as the drive and guide - he was fabulous. The journey to the Murray River was very pleasant through the Adelaide Hills. The Proud Mary was gorgeous - a very pleasant sail on the river and a delicious lunch with very welcoming and service oriented staff. Thank you everyone who made this a special day.Written 10 March 2025

- 769seana0 contributionsExcellent Good Value TripWe really enjoyed yesterday’s trip. We had a group of 13 which was ideal. Everyone (really) thought it was a very worthwhile and good value day. Peter was an extremely knowledgeable driver and good company. The times spent and locations visited were pretty close to ideal. The chocolate factory and Maggie Beers were the only exceptions. The chocolate factory had its wine section closed and they both were really just a “stop at a shop experience”. Meal was excellent. Wine tastings were good and generous, especially at Chateau Tanunda! If you are into wine at all and interested in seeing and experiencing the Barossa area, this is the trip, at around $190 ppWritten 24 February 2025
- roz13130 contributionsMy trip was excellent. Our driver Athen was a wealth of information and nothing was rushed. Highly recommendI saw so much of Adelaide then off to Hahndorf. What a beautiful village. The trip include a visit to the Beerenberg farm.Written 23 February 2025
- marcvC8473OJ0 contributionsRecommendedWe enjoyed our day trip to the Barossa Valley and Hahndorf, certainly thanks to our driver/guide Mike who provided us with interesting information all day long. A delicious wine tasting with the necessary descriptions and historical information about the Jacobs Creek wine estate. In the afternoon a special delicious lunch at the Lambert Estate. We were always welcomed by friendly people. We ended the day with a visit to Hahndorf. Christa and Marc , BelgiumWritten 18 February 2025
- Friendlygirlie0 contributionsThe day just gets better as it goes onThe cube was the least impressive stop we made; we still enjoyed how quirky the cube was. From a wine experience lens, the wives at the cube matched my palette the least but the wineries improved along the way. Such a wonderful day! Very glad we booked.Written 12 February 2025

- LINH C0 contributionsProud Mary Lunch Cruise, Mannum and Melba's ChocolatesA highly enjoyable day starting with a drive past Callington, Strathalbyn and Murray Bridge on the way for a two-hour lunch cruise onboard the Proud Mary. Our driver/tour guide Phil gave great commentary during the drive and was good humoured. The Proud Mary was recently renovated and looked fantastic on the inside. We had self-serve coffee/tea and cake or fresh fruit immediately after boarding and the staff brought out the mains and dessert. No more buffet lunch due to COVID-19. The mains was a small portion of chicken with vegetables which tasted delicious. It might be too small a serve for some people though. The dessert was caramel crème brûlée which tasted amazing. Captain Peter hardly gave any commentary during the cruise but we were offered photo ops and wearing the Captain's hat. Mannum was lovely but quiet and we spent most of the time in the Visitors Information Centre and the Mannum Hotel. We love Melba's Chocolate Factory but the Cheese Factory was closed. Maybe due to the 40 degrees C weather? Our chocolates melted on the way home but they still tasted great. Thank you driver Phil and Adelaide Sightseeing and the crew onboard Proud Mary for a wonderful day.Written 5 February 2025
- jenniferdevonport550 contributionsBrilliant BarossaThe trip was just right. Lovely scenery, we stopped at Jacob Creek winery, tastings and delicious morning tea, then Lamberts for lunch including wine tastings. The 2 course lunch was superb. Hahndorf was delightful and seeing koalas in the wild on the return to Adelaide a real highlight. Thank you to our wonderful driver Peter.Written 4 February 2025

We were advised to call the tour company beforehand to give our pick up details. I was told that we would be picked up outside our hotel at 12:59 (so precise!).
At 1:10 I received an irate call from the bus driver saying that we were supposed to be at the Train Station pickup point. Despite my telling him that I had confirmed with their office (can't remember the ladies name), he insisted that I was wrong and rudely advised that no, you were supposed to be at the train station.
After eventually being picked up, I honestly expected some sort of apology for the mix up, however he continued to have what I considered to be a rude and disrespectful attitude, leaving my friend and I to board the bus with other passengers thinking we were the cause of the delay.
We ended up having a relatively pleasant trip, however I can't deny that this encounter upset me and spoiled it somewhat.
My other issue was that with the wait was so long for our beer tasting at a Harndorf, it left little time for us to actually explore the village which made us feel rushed.

First time to Adelaide and thought I’d go see the Adelaide Hills and Hahndorf so this seemed the perfect choice.
Bus was prompt and driver very knowledgeable.
Afternoon tea was included in price.
Left Adelaide at 1pm.
20 minutes at Mt Lofty
20 minutes at Beerenberg factory (Jams/preserves)
Arrived at Hahndorf about 2:30 and proceeded to the Afternoon tea.
After waiting an hour for a cup of tea and a piece of strudel, I was left with 1/2 hour to explore the town before having to return to bus by 4:10pm.
Back in Adelaide by 4:40pm.
No faults with driver but $95 for what was effectively less than 1.5 hour tour.

Would have been wonderful if the weather hadn’t let us down. Yesterday was 40 degrees and sunny, today was 18 degrees and raining (which was great for the fires) Sadly we didn’t get any views from the mountains. But, Hahndorf was a very pretty little town. The beer tasting at The Hahndorf Inn was fun, plus we had some yummy chips and delicious apple strudel. Coach driver was really good too.

The commentary from our tour guide was brilliant! So many interesting facts and great stories with some good humor thrown in. The coach was comfortable and we felt very safe in the hands of our experienced driver. We had a great time in Hahndorf and enjoyed the afternoon tea and beer-tasting experience.

Wonderful half day trip last Friday (18/6) with beautiful scenery on a winter's day. Driver/guide Michael was very knowledgeable & provided plenty of entertainment 😅 not to mention great value too (beer tasting or coffee & cake included). He dropped everyone off at their hotel & us too (at nearby restaurant we were to be dining at in the evening).
Thoroughly recommend & also very reputable company. I am already checking out their other tours!

We wished we had hired a car and driven ourselves. We were astonished and dismayed that the tour guide/driver made no acknowledgement of the first nation people at any time during the tour. To listen to the commentary, the " history " of Adelaide started with the arrival of European and English explorers. Be aware also that you do not need to be on time for your tour as they ask, they will keep those passengers who arrive on time ( like us ), waiting for more than 15 minutes.

The tour is too expensive for what you get. Nice commentary on the coach and we chose the tea and cake for our refreshment in Hahndorf which was very nice.
Free time in Hanhdorf is ok if you like very touristy souvenir and gift shops but if not like us it was complete waste of time. Would have liked to know more about the history of the buildings and village in general.

Tour was great, enough time for the mount lofty summit and Beerenberg farm, the only downside is we would’ve really loved more time in Hahndorf, another 20 minutes essential, another hour would’ve been great. I believe public transport does run from Adelaide to Hahndorf so that might’ve been the way to go. The tour guides make the trip enjoyable and the Adelaide Hills are beautiful, particularly liked Stirling.

We enjoyed our visit just a shame it drizzled the full time we were there . I had some home made liquorice ice cream yum always on the look out as my favourite . Loved the gift shop with all the cuckoo clocks then we had warm wine sitting beside a log fire . What else could you ask for on a drizzly day .

Hi Sandy, we're so glad to hear you enjoyed your day on tour, despite the raining weather. Sipping wine by a warm log fire sounds amazing for this cooler weather.
We look forward to welcoming you back on tour with us one day.

Is there a gluten free option for the afternoon tea?
Written 26 February 2020
I believe there was yes
I can’t remember what it was though
I had the beer selection and not the afternoon tea but I think there was one lady who asked for a gluten free option - I seem to remember that of the 6 or 7 choices of cake only one was gluten free though
Can’t remember exactly
