About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 953margp0 contributionsLovely day in McLaren ValeI was traveling on my own and really enjoyed the company of like minded people. Danny's jokes during the day made us laugh. The wineries we visited were excellent and the wines were outstanding. Very relaxed pace but still got back to the city on time. Highly recommended.Written 8 January 2025
- Getaway2729400 contributionsExcellent day trip from AdelaideVery enjoyable tour of the small wineries. Ines, our tour guide, was very personable and knowledgable. Highly recommended for a day tour from AdelaideWritten 29 December 2024
- Tracy J0 contributionsGreat day tourOur guide Danny was so knowledgeable and really helpful. Some fab places to visit and the lunch even though both big was delicious. The Apple strudel was fantasticWritten 6 December 2024
- JDB610 contributionsExcellent tour of McClaren Vale WineriesThis small group tour was excellent- the driver was really knowledgeable about both the vineyards but also Adelaide in general. Highly recommend this trip particularly as a smaller group!Written 28 October 2024
- StuAnnaC0 contributionsGreat wineries - tour guide left A LOT to be desired.... Save our $$ and pick something elseThe wineries we visited were great, but the overall experience did not meet our expectations. We had done the Tasting the Barossa tour the previous day, which was excellent—our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate, and the tour cost less while being far more enjoyable. Unfortunately, our guide on this tour spent more time talking about himself and making bad jokes than educating us about the city and wine region. Some of his comments bordered on racist and were in poor taste. Initially, we thought it might just be our impression, but other couples on the tour shared similar feedback with us, unprompted. I hate to leave a negative reviews, but given what we paid, the experience fell far short of expectations.Written 27 October 2024
- Y666DFjulieh0 contributionsGreat relaxing tour with amazing guide Danny. Highly recommend *****Had a fabulous day out with Danny our tour guide/ driver. Danny is extremely knowledgable about Adelaide and the surrounds. He shared the history way back to the 1800’s - very interesting. It was a very relaxed tour. Hahndorf is beautiful. And Danny is the most cautious wonderful driver. Thank you Danny for an unforgettable day.Written 21 October 2024
- Rick F0 contributionsLike pleasurable small group tours? This is the one.Danny, our pleasant and knowledgeable guide and driver took us on a nicely paced and pleasant day tour. Lots of local and historical info, good food and drinks (of course). Small group in a comfortable coach. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.Written 13 October 2024

- Resort665102062340 contributionsLike a great day with friendsGuide, Danny, was relaxed and knowledgeable. The selection of wineries was great and the time at each venue was just right as it gave us time to enjoy the wines and time to get to know each other a little.Written 22 September 2024
- janieneh0 contributionsInformative and relaxed touringDanny, our guide, made our tour an excellent experience. We learnt so much about the history of Adelaide and surrounding areas. Being a small group tour gave us time to actually enjoy each place we stopped at without rushing to get back on the bus. Having a fridge in the van for our chocolates, cheeses and of course wines was very helpful. Would definitely recommend this company for a wonderfully relaxed touring experience.Written 15 September 2024
- gillies580 contributionsA day in the BarossaWe had a fabulous day of food and wine tastings. Our driver Danny C. was excellent. He was so informative and friendly and accommodating. He showed us a lot of Adelaide as well and again knew so much history. His van was immaculate and comfortable. We would definitely recommend his services to anyone.Written 24 August 2024
- lloydj5900 contributionsGreat way to spend a day touring the McClaren Vale wine regionDanny was an excellent guide. We stopped at four boutique wineries that treated us like VIP’s. The lunch stop was incredible. A curated board of cheese, meats, nuts, dips and warm bread to go perfectly with the wine. Highly recommend this small group trip as there were only three on the bus so we were able to ‘wing it’ and make 1-2 unplanned stops that fit our wishes.Written 15 August 2024
- patriciatZ4918SY0 contributionsGood introduction to McLaren Vale wineries.Great selection of wineries. Lunch was very nice. The driver was knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend this day tour from Adelaide.Written 12 August 2024
- W9737VBsimonep0 contributionsGreat tour with great guide. Would definitely recommendDanny our tour guide was fantastic! Weather was amazing and sights worth seeing. Was a total of 7 people on tour and more flexible then the large tour groups. Bus had a fridge so our fresh cheese and chocolates kept fresh while the sight seeing continued.Written 11 August 2024
- AnnieVF030 contributionsIntimate tour of 4 different wineriesWe visited with our adult daughter and we were the only 3 on the tour. Consequently, it was very intimate with lots of time for tastings and questions. We visited 4 wineries, all of which were great. Transport was comfortable and Vince, our driver, was knowledgeable about the area and entertaining. Would do it all again!Written 6 August 2024

Thank you Danny C for our amazing day . It was our second trip with Adelaide's Top Food and Wine Tours and once again we were looked after like silk worms .
I had the misfortune to have booked a Full Day Adelaide Tour with " Bums on Seats ". Paul the owner , had us on a Barssa Valley Tour and in his disorganised , rude and aggressive mind he thought I should have just cancel with ATF and WT's and gone with him. Thank goodness I was not born to enjoy abuse.
When you spend a full day on a tour it is so important that your Guide - Driver is knowledgeable , courteous and safe , Danny C was all three and more .
Thank you once again for a day to remember .

One of the highlights of our family's trip to Australia was the day with Danny touring the Barossa.
Our day started with him giving us an oral history of Adelaide on the trip along with learning about the history of wine production in the Barossa and McLaren Vale. We began at the gorgeous Chateau Tanunda for a tasting, followed by the more quaint Rockford (in a good way, smaller, hands-on operation), a stop for lunch where we were able to have some delicious kangaroo (and more wine of course) plus a visit to the cheese shop while waiting on our table, then on to Tscharke and finally Langmeil to finish our day. We had many delicious tastings and brought back an impressive several bottles of Shiraz to the USA that we look forward to decanting after laying them down for a few years.
I was particularly interested in visiting the Barossa on our trip and my wife, two sons and I were more than satisfied with our visit, Danny was very informative and a wonderful guide, we highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely fantastic trip
to the Barossa Valley with Adelaide’s Top Food and Wine Tours this week. Our host and driver Bruce couldn’t have been better to take our tour. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Having a two course lunch with wine at a historic pub in Angeston was perfect. We really liked travelling in the modern white minibus with understated gold lettering on it. Don’t hesitate to book with this professional company.

What a fantastic way to start the weekend. We started our tour at Chateau Tanunda after a lovely drive through the vineyards of the Barossa Valley, it was a great winery to start at with so much history. Innez was a fantastic tour guide and a wealth of local knowledge. It was an enjoyable experience wandering around looking at the multimedia presentations and some of the old implements used in days gone by.
Second stop at Langmeil Winery was also an excellent choice as it is also steeped in the history of the Barossa.
Lunch at Wanera Wine Bar was an enjoyable affair and will be visiting again next time we venture to the Barossa.
Innez was very accommodating with the pace of the tour and as we left the choice of wineries to visit to her we were very happy with the selections made.
We will be contacting Adelaide's Top Food and wine Tours once our interstate and overseas friends can visit to arrange another private tour of one of the wine regions.
Cant recommend these services enough.

Danny C took us on an amazing trip from the CBD through to the Barossa. He’s an incredibly knowledgeable tour guide who informed us of all the interesting details along the way and knew to subtly let us nap back homewards.
The tour took us to three wineries. The second was Langmeil, which was our favourite.
The lunch and cheese stops were welcome after all the wine. I had a tasty kangaroo fillet steak.
We managed a trip to a Maggie Beers farm at the end as well, which Danny kindly included after the group discussed it.
I’d recommend this tour to my friends.

Wow, the little extra we paid for this company was well worth it. We had a private car and had a great time with our driver Innez giving us a running commentary throughout on the history of South Australia the Barossa Valley and Wine in the region. The itinerary was adapted as we went through the day to allow us to go to Penfolds and Maggie Beer’s kitchen. Our first two stops were at small boutique wineries that had both been running for over 100 years (Kies & Langmeil) both were excellent and langmeil both of which were excellent. The lunch was superb and was at Wanera Wine Bar and was also included in the price (and wasn’t the customary BBQ chicken that yo7 often get) but a choice of succulent dishes of the menu.

My partner and I loved the experience with Top food and wine tours. The driver was Vince. He was friendly, patient and a great professional to deal with. He was able to delightly promote the tour, explaining every single detail and following the clients' desires. Van was nicely clean and comfortable. The tour was a bit more expensive than the others found on the website, but it was worth it as we had such an unbelievable moment. Thanks!

The experience was way better than I expected. Vince, the driver and guide was sensational; an absolute credit to the company. Personable and witty without being intrusive he guided us through the Adelaide history and of the Barossa region with excellent knowledge and well received side tracking. Four wineries were visited - which is ample - all offering differing styles and even the Mead distillery which was actually a highlight of the day. Lunch was excellent, held in one of the township restaurants- main and dessert and top class food.
Couldn't fault the day. Thsnks Vince.

What a great day out in the Barossa, from start to finish Danny looked after us admirably.
As a small group tour it ticked all the boxes of being what we hoped. We learnt a lot and visited some fantastic smaller independent cellar doors with amazing wine.
Danny was incredibly personable, interesting and knowledgeable on the region, the wine, the history and where to take us to find some of the best wine in the region.
Lunch was included and spectacular! A full on dining experience. No, scrimping on quality or choice.
We would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to see the best of the Barossa.

We enjoyed a great day in the Barossa with Danny C. We were fortunate enough to be the only participants of the tour (choosing a quiet day in the week) and were thrilled that the company continued with the tour when many would have cancelled. Danny was very knowledgeable about the area and made the journey to the Barossa fly by with his tales of first settlers and the history of Adelaide and surrounds.
Once in the Barossa we enjoyed guided tastings at Chateau Tanunda and Langmeil wines. Our fantastic lunch (included in the booking) was served at Wanera with some more lovely wine!
After lunch we visited our third and final winery (our choice to stop at 3!) Thorn-Clarke wines. Another excellent guided tasting.
To finish off the day we visited Maggie Beer’s farm shop for a photo opportunity and much needed coffee.
A really amazing day!
