Barossa Valley Day Trip from Adelaide Including Gourmet Pizza Lunch
USD 78.95
Overview
Explore the Barossa Valley’s wineries and top sights on a full-day tour from Adelaide. Visit four wineries for wine tastings, including large producers like Jacob’s Creek and Wolf Blass, and the boutique Kies Family Wines. For lunch, enjoy woodfire gourmet pizzas in the lovely gardens of the winery. En route, stop at a wood toy factory to see an enormous rocking horse, and meet animals including kangaroos, goats and alpacas. You’ll also experience the incredible acoustics of the Whispering Wall in Williamstown.
What to Expect

After winding our way through the suburbs and scenic Adelaide Hills for an hour, we stop at Gumeracha*, home to the World’s Largest Rocking Horse. It also boasts a café and Australia’s only remaining wooden toy factory. There, we can hand-feed the remarkably tame kangaroos, goats and alpacas.

In Williamstown, the gateway to the Barossa, we visit the astonishing Whispering Wall*. As tall as a 9-storey building and constructed in a perfect semi-circle over 110 years ago, it’s possible to hear someone whisper from one end of the dam wall to the other end 140 metres away.

As the vine leaves replace the gum trees, we enter the largest and most celebrated wine region in Australia. Our first stop is the world-famous Jacob’s Creek, the largest wine exporter in the valley. A local guide will provide an informative explanation of their wines and offer a selection of their famed shiraz, merlot and rosé for tasting.  Our next stop, Kies, is a family-owned boutique winery, where the setting is quaint and the service is personal. Their exquisite wines are not available for sale anywhere else in the world.

For lunch, we’ll head to Saltram’s for gourmet pizzas. You’ll also get the chance to do a cellar door tour and taste a selection of their wines.

After lunch, we’ll slowly make our way to Wolf Blass. This world-renowned winery created in 1966 is one of the world’s most awarded wine brands. We will get the chance to taste their wide range of wines before we pop into our final winery: Lambert Estate a family owned business that made their name thanks to their Chocolate port! Finally, we’ll stop by Menglers Hill lookout for a superb view of the Barossa Valley before heading back to Adelaide, arriving at approximately 5pm.

Please note: The Whispering Wall is not available on days when there is a fire ban; the itinerary will be adjusted accordingly if you are unable to visit this attraction on the day of your tour.

Wine tasting good, Tour disappointing

We were so looking forward to our wine tour and the first thing our guide said was “I don’t normally do this tour”. Well that was obvious because we got no information about the Barossa Valley or any of the beautiful countryside we went through....More

We went to the Barosa with about twenty people. Some local, interstate and overseas. Different age groups but a great mob. The driver Em was terrific and drove brilliantly. She was bright and bubbly and just what you need on a full day bus tour....More

Best winery tour ever

Friendliest driver and we visited a wide range of wineries. Our favourite was definitely the small family run ones as opposed to the overproduced well known. It’s honestly like comparing McDonald’s to a gourmet burger restaurant. 10/10 recommend this tour!
