DINGOES WHALES AND MORE ON THIS AMAZING 4X4 BUS RIDE!!!
We had an amazing time on a 4x4 bus across the island. We saw dingoes and whales. The highlight for us was the airplane ride over the island. The plane ride was amazing value. And our guide Steve was amazing. 5 and a half stars!

A wonderful introduction to K’gari with knowledgeable and friendly staff.
We had a great day with Andrew behind the wheel. He was so enthusiastic about the sights and sounds of the island and had many engaging stories about the flora, fauna and the First Nations and European histories of K’gari. We felt that we finished the day knowing more about K’gari and keen to come again and explore further in the future. Why only 4 stars? Our seats at the back of the bus, which really weren’t suited to Adults, were pretty uncomfortable, with very limited legroom and compact seats. If it were possible to allocate seating with an eye to the passenger size we feel the tour would be enhanced for future visitors.

      Awesome tour
We initially thought the cost was a little high but knew it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for us so we booked! We were not disappointed..it was awesome! Our tour guide Keith made our experience. He was so knowledgeable, played great music and provided us with the best adventure. We went to places that you would not see if you went by yourself. We highly recommend this tour!... dont forget to request Keith if you want an extraordinary experience.

      fantastic day.
Had a great day trip. A lot to fit into the day but never felt rushed. Kurt was our driver and he was great, so much knowledge and information throughout the whole day. The swim at Mackenzie lake to end the day was the best.

An amazing day and an amazing experience.
We had the most amazing day and experience.Dave, the coach driver and tour guide was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the island and its history and geology, vegetation, wildlife etc . It is a long day but is so worth it.We really feel like we got to see so much of the Island in just one day which is all we had to spare! The lunch provided was really good, just a little rushed if you ended up being at the back of the queue but I understand why there needed to be a time schedule. Swam in Lake Mckenzie which was amazing, crystal clear, just beautiful. Took the option of flying in the little plane off the beach which I would highly recommend,a great experience and views that were totally unsurpassed. Saw Dingoes on the beach and in the rainforest too.Just incredible sitting on a coach driving on the sandy tracks round the island,a day we'll never forget and are so glad we did.

Kgari Kraziness: An island of fun and adventure
John was our guide for the day and I must say what an absolute gentleman of a man he is. A true gem and pleasure to be around and a walking encyclopaedia of knowledge about the island and it’s wildlife! We had a fabulous and decadent lunch provided by Johno and his crew. A great day out for the whole family.

Great way to experience Fraser Island.
The beauty spots tour was a great tour from Kingfisher resort. Martin our driver and tour guide was great. Always making sure we were the first bus at all the spots and for the buffet lunch! Travelled with two teenagers who enjoyed it too. It was a bit of a rollercoaster ride, so keep your seat belt on! So many great spots, have your camera ready! And don’t forget your swimmers.

One Day tour of K’gari Island on Monday July 15th 2025
We enjoyed this experience. It will probably be a once in a lifetime one so we participated in all offered activities except swimming. John was our guide. He gave us lots of information and was a genial personality. Importantly, to me, I felt safe even when he was driving us in fairly hairy situations.

      Excellent Day Tour!
Blair was a great tour guide and made our long day interesting and exciting. We saw a beautiful lake and had a snack afterwards that he’d prepared. We drove along the beach and saw dingos as well as a shipwreck. Lunch was excellent and filling. All in all a great day and very informative. Highly recommended!

We had Warren as a guide and he really made the tour! Everything went very smoothly and it's all very accommodating. I'm celiac (a gluten allergy) and there was tons I could eat at every meal and during snacks! Pickup process is very smooth, then you cross the ferry and go to your bus, I did 2 day tour. We got lots of time to do the things we wanted, an hour to swim at all the lakes and creeks, we did a hike to the beautiful lake Wabby. The next day we got an optional plane ride which I took which gave amazing aerial views without missing any tour as they met us farther down the beach. The roadways are all sand which is a cool experience. Warren was a great driver at navigating everything thrown at him. We had some rain but that did not stop any of our activities, Warren found us a sheltered spot to eat so we could still sit outside and enjoy nature. Our tour was organized so that everyone isnt at the same place at the same time. We ended our second day floating down the creek which was stunning. I learned so much!! Everyone else on the trip was in pairs while I was traveling solo, rather than sitting by myself, Warren invited me to join him at the front of the bus! Showing from the start how accommodating the tour would be.

I organised this tour for a group of four friends. We wanted to do some exploring and had seen this on the Channel 7 weekender program. I had been before but this trip looked like good value for money and an opportunity to see all the sights of the island.
We had a warm welcome from the moment we arrived at the ferry.
We were excited and keen to have some fun. The tour guide Mark was a kind and fun loving knowledgeable man and he was able to interact with all members of group and have some fun along the way.
We visited all the main sights of the island with plenty of time at each stop - more relaxed than a previous one day tour I had done and more sights/time at each stop.
Mark never switched off and was always on hand to answer questions.
Food, accomodation and ferry included. Basic accomodation but great value for money and right on beach and Mark told us sunrise times so well worth getting up.
Favourite place was lake McKenzie was beautiful and also enjoyed the champagne pools. We managed to do a scenic flight which was so much fun.
Mark joined our group for dinner and cards and was so passionate about the Island and his job - he is a credit to the company and an ambassador for the island.
If you are thinking about this trip, and have the luxury of two days I would encourage you to do this tour. There really is something for everyone.
I am delighted that we went in winter as the walk to lake Wabbi May have been challenging in the summer heat! But then the cool swim at end will be worth it.
I would do this trip again with friends or family. It was 10/10 you will not be disappointed.
Well done Mark and Fraser Explore Tours!

One day is never enough in paradise!
Who knew these expensive explorer tour buses could take you so comfortably up the beach, and on the coffee rocks, and sandy tracks? Our driver, Warren, deserves special commendation for being an exceptional tour guide: safety conscious, informative, and entertaining! All the passengers ... (Limited to under 24. We had 17! ) Enjoyed our two days seeing the Paradise that is K'gari!
From Champagne pools at high tide with whales frollicking in the distance teal blue and royal blue ocean! To seeing Satinay trees that helped build the Suez canal! Okay, seeing the Asian wolf, (dingo) and carpet snake on the track, made it like a trip to the zoo too!

Highly recommend doing this tour to everyone on the planet! Add it to your bucket list!

[Tour experience can be modified....eg if you're not into walking distances, could be dropped off to the hotel at lunch time. ] Although we had folk who managed the walk to Lake Waddy, and we're exhilarated to have seen our Aussie Sahara sand dunes!

Sunset trip back on the ferry.... An added bonus ❤️ Thanks again, Driver Warren and company.

Great 2-day tour, we didn't feel rushed at all. We were given adequate time at each beauty spots during the tour. Our tour guide, Mark, is very anthusiastic about the histories of the place, and very knowledgeable of the fauna and flora. He looked after us very well and ensured we had a good time. He is also a very good and safe driver, the road was extremely bumpy and we could imagine the challenge to drive the big bus due to all the sandy and patchy trek. We highly recommend this tour for people who haven't visited Fraser Island and would like to get a taste of everything. The lunch buffet at Euring Beach Resort was a little underwhelming. The provided picnic lunch on the second day was basic but we were also provided with morning and afternoon tea on the second day and it was adequate to fill our belly during the trip.

A brilliant two day tour of K'gari led by a highly knowledgeable and personable guide (Mark/Sarg told us some great stories from his army days!)

Not even torrential rain could dampen this trip which included stunning views at Lake McKenzie and the iconic beach drive which takes in the wreckage of the SS Maheno, the Pinnacles Lookout and the Champagne pools.

Two days lunch, one breakfast and snacks included in the price.

We also got an amazing 15 minute flight over the island for an extra 100 dollars pp - taking off and landing on the beach is quite an experience and would definitely recommend.

(Also fair play to Mark getting down into the sand and replacing a tyre double quick and still managing to get us on to the ferry on time!)

Dear Alan_Corker, Thank you for rating us as 'excellent'! We are pleased to read of your experience and great to note that the weather did not impact your impression of this island paradise! The scenic flight is certainly a highlight for our guests. Please note that this is offered by a 3rd party operator and is not guaranteed to be available. We will be sure to share your kind words with Mark and management. We will also be posting a special shout-out for Mark in our next staff newsletter in appreciation of his efforts! On behalf of all of us, we hope to welcome you island side again soon.

Amazing tour that accommodated all of our diverse mobility needs. With 2 kids and a few people in our party who couldn’t walk too much everybody was well accommodated for and adjusted as needed to ensure everybody was entertained and comfortable.

Our tour guide, Keith would make it easy for some to skip stops if they didn’t want to join (especially wabby lake which was the hardest walk) and helped drive the bus as close as possible along the creek for one member who doesn’t swim/get wet.

We hit the highlights. Keith was fabulous at adjusting the timing of our stops and knowing when other tours were likely in various spots so worked to avoid other your buses. We also lucked out to be the only family on the tour so we effectively had a private family tour and by ourselves for most stops including lake Wabby! The Lake Wabby stop was magical and nothing like the first time I visited - Keith’s timing combined with low season made it so!

Keith also ensured the safety of everybody when there were dingoes near the creek. Was also fun to see his whip skills on the beach for a fun stop.

Bus was good and quite clean - especially considering we’re on a sand island! Food and snacks were good. The resort was nice however the smell from the public toilets was def a sore spot at the time. Hopefully that’s been fixed up by now. We were glad to have our own bathrooms back in our rooms.

We caught the ferry from Rainbow Beach which was a great decision for us. If you do the same and want to cook any food on your own at Rainbow Beach, recommend having your food before you hit up Rainbow Beach which can be a bit expensive for things. We didn’t need any food for this tour but we needed food for overnight at rainbow beach. before heading on the tour.

Was a favourite tour for everyone on our 6wk tour of Qld. Highly recommend checking out K’Gari island and doing the tour so you don’t have to worry about the 4wd on the sand. It was well worth it! If you’re flexible with timing late July was great weather and incredibly quiet outside of AU school. holidays.

I'm pretty lucky to have had been to Fraser Island before this trip. This time, I was traveling with my mom instead of backpacking solo. I was so impressed by this tour! Emily was a great guide and kept everyone in a positive mood. It was nice that she knew quite a bit of history and ecological information about the island because it made the trip much more informative. The bus was well-built and super fun to ride in over bumpy parts, especially because we were allowed to take turns going to the front! We visited Lake Mckenzie, Lake Wabby, Eli Creek, the Champagne Pools, Indian Head Lookout, Central Station, Eurong Resort, the Maheno shipwreck and the coloured sands. I had a blast and recommend this to everyone!

From our first encounter booking through the online agent all the way to being dropped off at our hotel in Hervey Bay, we were impressed with the quality and care shown to us.

Our guide Pete B was an absolute gem! It was clear that he loves his job and took the time to chat with all guests, made sure we knew what to expect, took care to ensure our experience was first rate, and shared his humour, knowledge and stories of Fraser Island and aboriginal history.

The tour format was great with lots of stops and walks and photo ops. We were well fed and the accommodation and bus were comfortable.

We took advantage of the Fraser Air flight and it was worth every penny for the incredible views.

This was one of my favourite experiences in Australia.

Wasn’t sure what to expect going in to this tour, but everything was organised extremely well with so many locations packed into two days but enough time at every stop, and time to relax in between. Even with the sometimes dodgy weather, each location was beautiful and well worth visiting. A big part of the enjoyment of the tour is thanks to the tour guides we had - Cam and Warren - who were knowledgeable, friendly, made the trip exciting and the occasional long drives between locations were broken up by their commentary and jokes/songs. Would definitely recommend, only tiny comment would be that the accomodation at Eurong is extremely basic- no aircon, wifi, tv but it doesn’t matter as you spend so little time there, just some thing to bear in mind. All in all a fantastic 2 days that surpassed our expectations!

Mum and Dad booked this for my partner and I for Christmas and we made them come with us.
We had an amazing time. Dave was the tour guide and bus driver, he was informative, friendly, and encouraged everyone to mingle and not stay in our groups.
The actual tour was amazing, and we visited and swam in some awesome spots. But Dave encouraging us all to mingle, and we did, was what made the trip in the end. My parents made some friends who live in Hervey Bay, and we made some friends we will keep in contact with. Everyone got along, thanks to Dave.

The accommodation is adequate, but nothing to rave about, no air conditioning, but that was not an issue, we slept with the door open and fan on and listened to the waves to get to sleep, that was great. The food provided was great, we were never hungry, and most people took snacks too.

Coming from Hervey Bay, the bus ride from the barge to and from, and on the first morning is bumpy, but not uncomfortable. The second day it is mainly on the beach and exceptionally smooth. Make sure you take a large water bottle (the tour company provides top up water but not bottles). Lap up the swimming spots, they are fantastic.

Be warned: The walk to Lake Wabby is extreme, the walk there is only about 2k’s, but the steps are large and at the end it is all sand. The return climb of the steep sand hill is extremely hard. Although it was explained, I do not think it was really explained that it is a difficult walk. My parents did not go (they are in there 70's) and there is no way they would have made it. I am reasonably fit (i walk everyday) and I struggled.

The only change I would make to the entire trip is to do lake McKenzie last, or at least longer as it is amazing and really needs to be enjoyed for longer.

Tip - Make sure you take a hat and sunscreen, as well as the big bottle of water.
