About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- annaoT9778OU0 contributionsAmazing day out in natureLoved our day out with Allister and a small group. Very friendly guide with lots of knowledge about the area, flora and fauna. The croc cruise was great and the captain of the boat was amazing at spotting a crocodile in a little creek that no other tour had seen! The lunch was lovely, and the restaurant staff knew so much about the different tropical fruit we tried. We then hiked to a pristine waterfall and swimming hole and were able to spend lots of time there. A very original, well organised and stunning experience for nature lovers that want to go a bit off the beaten tourist track. Highly recommend.Written 17 January 2025
- meganbS6219KR0 contributionsGood dayVery nice day, beautiful swimming spot. Even though it wasn’t “croc season” we still found a couple on the cruise! Lunch was nice, vegetarian option was not very substantial though (just a few vegetables, not a substitute protein) Allister was a very friendly host and knowledgeable guide.Written 15 January 2025
- emilyp5620 contributionsFab day outWe had a great time with Allister, who really knows his stuff. The day ran very smoothly with a croc river cruise, a lovely lunch with lots of different fruits to try and a good hike to a peaceful waterfall where we could swim in fresh water (the photos dont do it justice).Written 13 January 2025
- R1215WIbrendang0 contributionsOff the beaten track and exclusive.Allister Is an amazing guide. He takes you on a relaxing full day experience filled with lots of interesting stories and local knowledge. His tour is personal and unique away from the usual crowded tourist routes. Lunch was authentic, locally made and off the beaten track also filled with lots of knowledge about the many fruits that are served. His secret swimming rock pool and waterfall is perfect after a hike. Highly recommended.Written 13 January 2025

- Explore488447454610 contributionsBest start to 2025!The waterfall experience was incredible. It was my first waterfall experience and one I will never forgot. Allister is so humble, generous and all around amazing! He has incredible knowledge of the Daintree and QLD and is very down to earth, always available for a chat and to learn more about others. Definitely recommend!Written 2 January 2025
- 80lukey0 contributionsPerfect Day in the RainforestWe had an awesome experience learning about and exploring the Daintree Rainforest. We were in good hands with Allister, who was kind, timely, and knowledgeable about this part of Australia. We learned so much about the flora and fauna of the rainforest during our comfortable walk through the forest to the stunning waterfall. It was so nice to swim at the waterfall, and it’s in a safe location on private property, so we had the fall to ourselves. We got to see crocodiles on the boat portion of the trip and the lunch at the fruit orchard was delicious. It was a perfect way to explore the Daintree, and I highly recommend it.Written 2 January 2025
- katebW981VS0 contributionsPrivate waterfall experience. Fantastic lunch. Crocodile sightings. What an incredible trip with a local. Everything from our pick-up to drop-off was wonderful. Alistair is so knowledgeable of the area. It was so nice to have the waterfall, lunch and crocodile river cruise all to ourselves. Book it! You won’t be disappointed.Written 29 December 2024
- Rose v0 contributionsPrivate small hikeGreat day out with Alistair as our guide. We started with a wonderful early lunch at a remote restaurant. Alistair then took us on an easy hike through the forest, stopping many times to educate us about our surroundings. We were lucky to spot lots of Ulysses Butterfly flying around the trees. We ended up at a gorgeous waterfall for a cool refreshing swim, which was he highlight of the trip. A very small and private tour with nobody else around. Highly recommendedWritten 16 December 2024
- Shefflife0 contributionsDaintree forest experienceA brilliant day with Alistair!! Lovely cruise along Daintree river saw fruit bats, no Crocs but expected as we are out of season and a bit warm for Crocs to be visible, Great lunch at rainforest restaurant, quite a quirky place with lots of tropical fruits!! Lovely walk into rainforest to a lovely waterfall and pool for a dip, Alistair was really knowledgeable and passionate about flora and fauna and pointed things out to us which was brilliant, A great day, highly recommended,!!!Written 1 December 2024
- P9513VJdanielav0 contributionsAn amazing hike with a great guide! My friend and I did a full-day hiking tour with Allister and it was an unforgettable experience. From the start, he made us feel completely at ease, sharing interesting facts about the area and making sure we were comfortable throughout the hike. He was very attentive and adjusted the pace to match ours, which made everything perfect. The scenery was stunning, with breathtaking views and peaceful trails where we could really enjoy nature. Plus, Allister shared lots of fascinating info about the local flora and fauna, which added a lot to the experience. If you're looking for a professional, friendly guide who makes you feel right at home, I highly recommend him! PLUS lunch was delicious :)Written 29 November 2024
- 589neil0 contributionsGreat day walking through the rainforest to a lovely waterfall for a swim.My wife and I were taken to the Daintree Rain Forest by our guide Alistair. Before we headed out for our walk he took us for a delicious lunch in a beautiful restaurant. After that he lead us through the rainforest for about an hour to a lovely waterfall. All along the way Alistair would stop to highlight certain flora and fauna, even picking certain fruits from the trees which were good to eat and offering them to us. His knowledge and understanding of the rainforest and it's inhabitants is extensive and he is very obviously passionate about it all. We loved our day in the forest with him, especially swimming in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall. He is a great guide a a nice guy too! Highly recommended!!!Written 14 November 2024
- timeN8408PJ0 contributionsA nice day at the daintree with a 5 Star GuideNice easy walk with a lot of information about the Flora and Fauna. Highlight is the Swim at the Waterfall. The Lunch was exceptional at a very nice location. The Crocodile Tour was ok. Our Guide Allister is local and has many stories to tell. I wanted to also thank him to alter the tour for us. 5 Star ratingWritten 4 November 2024
- T9460KAsophiea0 contributionsExcellent small group Daintree tourWe had a lovely day with Allister exploring the daintree! It was a small, personal tour where the minibus trips were short, therefore you spend the majority of the time exploring! Allister had lots of knowledge on the rainforest which was wonderful to learn! The hike to the waterfall was beautiful and the swim was tranquil and refreshing! We luckily saw a big crocodile and a small baby one on the crocodile cruise which was a fun experience! We also had a lovely lunch at a hidden rainforest restaurant which is included as part of the tour. Overall we would highly recommend this tour if you truly want to experience the Daintree in a locals shoes and visit a perfect spot in the rainforest!Written 29 October 2024

This was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had!!!
Alister was an unbelievable tour guide and we felt we got such an authentic and unique experience that you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else. The hike was gorgeous and really immersive in nature and Alister was incredibly knowledgeable about everything - we learned so much and had the best time spending the day with him.
It was amazing to be able to do this in a small group environment rather than crammed in a tour bus with strangers, truly cannot recommend this tour enough!
If you’re looking for a perfect day where you will immerse in nature, learn all about the Daintree history and surrounding vegetation, eat yummy food and explore this is the tour for you!

Amazing day! Really enjoyed the personalised tour, off the beaten track with Allister who was not only very informative and shared his knowledge but also great company throughout the day. Visited a spectacular waterfall, a swim in crystal clear waters, a beautiful lunch at Heritage Lodge, walked along Thorntons beach and finished off with fresh local made ice-cream. This day was so much more than we expected. We 100% recommend this tour for those looking for a bit of a challenge to explore the beauty of the Daintree.

Had an AWESOME day out with Allister, the hike up to Fossil Falls was amazing. Enjoyed a swim in crystal clear water hole before an enjoyable lunch stop. Keep your eyes open as we were lucky enough to see a Cassowary. A stroll along Thornton beach and finished the day with a trip to the Daintree ice cream company. Allister is very knowledgeable of the area and is great company, I would highly recommend booking with Daintree Experience, you will not be disappointed.

Great experience! Climbing up to a waterfall with a cup of tea waiting, down to a beautiful swim spot with hot lunch, a walk along the beach, topped off with a quick stop for ice cream. Allister is a fun, conversational and informative guide. Would recommend to solo travellers and anyone who doesn’t like bus tours visiting mainstream spots.

The hike was excellent and the flora just beautiful. Allister took the time to stop and chat to us about some of the flora. It was so lovely hiking alongside a creek and then to the most beautiful waterfall. Didn't swim as it was a bit chilly. Lunch was great...takeaway from a Daintree cafe to sit and eat by the Daintree River and chat more. Allister is very easy to get along with and so this really added to the experience. After lunch we hopped on a crocodile spotting cruise and incredibly, we viewed a croc death-rolling a wild pig and then pushing it up the river to a hiding spot....amazing!
All in all it was a wonderful day and would highly recommended. Thanks Allister you were amazing!!

Allister was the ideal guide to take us through the beautiful Daintree. We were looking for a tour that would give us a deeper understanding of the rainforest ecosystem and biodiversity of the Daintree Region, and not a large bus tour covering tourist spots. We were not disappointed! Allister was brilliantly knowledgeable, easy to talk to and ask questions and patient. Highlights were a cup of tea up on the waterfall, a refreshing swim in a hidden swimming hole we’d not have been able to access otherwise, and a walk along the beach where the river meets the ocean. If you want an immersive experience into this incredible prehistoric rainforest, this one is the one.

This guided tour through the Daintree Rainforest to a beautiful Waterfall was truly fabulous. The whole day was well planned and I loved that we weren't rushed about trying to fit everything in. We were able to absorb the beauty of the Rainforest and enjoy every part of our experience. Thankyou to Allister, our guide, for giving us a memorable tour of the Daintree. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that it was just myself and my friend on this guided tour which made it feel more personal. I highly recommend this tour for lovers of hiking and anyone wanting to experience this beautiful part of Australia.

If your are visiting The Daintree make sure you book this tour which took us into the rainforest and a hike up to a beautiful waterfall, followed by a stroll on an almost deserted beach and yummy ice cream to complete the day. Thoroughly recommend this tour. Allister, our guide, was such a mine of information, answering all of our questions and providing Interesting facts along the way. The Hike was done at our own pace and Allister continually checked with us if we needed a rest or drink break, never once felt like we were being rushed. A most enjoyable day and the bonus was that it was just my friend and I so it felt like a more personalized tour.

A really enjoyable small group tour led by local guide Allister. Spectacular waterfalls and a very interesting walk up to them, with an informative chat about the local flora. Allister took the hike at a pace that suited everyone and followed it with some treats - a dip in the creek, tasty lunch, a walk along the beach and a visit to get a very yummy ice cream, along with truly remarkable experiences- seeing cassowaries close up! It was great to get to know the others in the tour as well.

We had an amazing Daintree experience with tour guide Allister today. He was in contact with us days before our arrival and making sure we had all the correct equipment and clothing for the day. He was full of knowledge the whole trip, even stopping at some local Daintree surrounds to give us new and exciting things to see. He was very patient and definitely made our holiday a highlight. The views and meals along the way were fantastic aswell. Couldn’t recommend him enough - you won’t be disappointed. Thankyou again Allister! 😄 - James & Taryn.
