      Another great experience
This is our second time sailing on the Shaolin. It was fun, relaxed and very informative. The beer was cold and the snacks were just enough

      Really fun informative experience
Rob and Jade were really relaxed and friendly, with a great knowledge of the area. The weather wasn’t great so we didn’t go out to sea, as it was too rough or see a sunset, but it didn’t matter, we had a fantastic time. Sat out on the deck until the rain came. Complimentary drink and nice snacks were great. Saw 2 crocodiles going up the estuary. We would go on this again next time we’re here. Highly recommend.

      Relaxing peaceful sunset cruise
Great experience. Local crew gave us info about where we travelled plus insight on important mangroves. Easy to book. No stress.

      Great experience! Well worth it.
This trip was great value for money, especially considering the price. Jade and Robbie (I think this was the captain's name!) were incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the ship and the surrounding area. Things were super choppy out at sea so we didn't stay out there for long and instead did a longer estuary cruise, which was equally informative. The finger food was great, basically an entree before going out for dinner afterwards, and they catered for vegetarians, and they took time to check on the people in our group who experience seasickness. We sat on cushions on the deck above the cabin. It was pretty cool walking along the outside edge of the ship to get to the cabin while we were sailing. The experience was great. So glad we took the chance to do this.

      Lunchtime Cruise
Booked the sunset cruise but was cancelled as the only 2 who booked. We were offered the lunchtime cruise instead for no extra charge which was a nice touch. Cruise was enjoyable with really fresh prawns. Overall a very good experience.

Sunset sail down Dickson Inlet and to the tip of Port Douglas in a Chinese junk
A very relaxing sail in perfect weather. Friendly staff, good sense of humour, learnt about the marina, iconic boat owners, surrounding beaches and islands and places to visit/eat. Lovely old but comfy Chinese junk with its own interesting story. Great way to start out stay at the tip of Australia. Thank you!

Turned into a mangrove sail :(
It was a little too windy to head out unfortunately so we were confined to the estuary. If this happens to you bring some insect repellent. The sandflies were voracious!

This was a lunch time cruise and the skipper and crewman were excellent.

We travelled outside the heads and viewed the land and were told where specific places were.

We were inside the 'Junk' and as the sea developed a little swell and a few people went outside.

The entree was served and well received by most.

The skipper was very aware of some feeling a little unwell and immediately changed us from sailing to motor and took us back into the estuary.

Some very fresh prawns & sour dough bread with seafood sauce were served.

    Fresh and delicious !

A welcome aboard drink was given and further drinks available at a very reasonable price.

We were very happy with our cruise.

We really enjoyed this novel lunchtime sailing experience on the Shaolin vintage timber junk boat (beautifully built). Flynn, the captain, is super friendly and Tay, his deckhand, is very efficient, nothing was too much trouble. The cruise goes for 1.5 hrs (ideal length of time in our opinion) and as you sail along you enjoy the scenery, a delicious lunch of yummy spring rolls and your own bucket of huge prawns (peel your own) with fresh bread, delicious. You also get a complimentary drink and are free to purchase more drinks if you wish. You can either sit outside on the front deck of the boat or sit inside around a large wooden table with padded bench seating, the latter having the bonus of shade, comfortable seating and interesting anecdotes by Flynn. Highly recommended!

Absolutely loved our cruise on the Shaolin. Rob and Tayla could not have been any more pleasant and friendly and went out of their way to make sure everyone in the group was comfortable and felt included. Rob’s local knowledge was fascinating and we loved hearing about the boat’s history and all about Port Douglas’ past. There were also some cool snippets about celebrities who spend time at PD.
Ours was a seafood lunch cruise and the spring rolls and prawns were excellent as was the cold beers we washed them down with.
Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxed, casual, interesting way to spend an afternoon when visiting Port D.

We joined Shaolin for a midweek seafood lunch cruise. We can't recommend the experience highly enough. The boat itself is just lovely and it is well worth checking out the accommodations below deck.
The cruise was a fun trip with a quick peek out to the ocean then a leisurely cruise on the river. For those, like me, who are prone to motion sickness, this is a great way to experience PD from the water.
The very reasonable cost includes a drink of choice, a small entree of spring rolls then a generous serve of fresh prawns. Additional drinks to purchase are very reasonably priced and the commentary from the skipper was great. So interesting to hear life on the marina.
We met lots of fun and interesting people on the boat too. All in all a fun way to spend a few hours.

Wonderful leisurely sailing cruise on a still and very hot day, but nice and cool in the large aft cabin with open sides, around the large table with 10 fellow passengers, enjoying our seafood lunch and superb view. Excellent sailmenship by captain and crew with informative commentary. Highly recommended!

This is a great afternoon sail. We booked this a couple of months before because of the great reviews. We enjoyed every moment and our captain and hostess were both so informative and interesting.
Our lunch was delicious and the prawns were straight from the trawler. Some of the best we’ve had. I don’t write many reviews but this one was outstanding.
    Thoroughly recommend this seafood luncheon.

A great afternoon spent on the Shaolin with Flynn and Floyd as the crew. Wonderful weather for the voyage but it was the crew and catering that completed the experience. A welcome drink, local mini spring rolls and then the most generous serving of local prawns. A good mix of guests too so lots of banter and laughs.

The time sailing off Port Douglas for an hour or so was sublime.

    Thoroughly enjoyable and recommended.

This seafood lunch cruise is excellent. Delicious seafood enjoyed by everyone. Windy on the day at sea , so our Captain , Flynn opted for a gentle cruise down the inlet. Saw a small wild crocodile basking in the sun on the banks. Great group of people and we didn’t stop laughing at all the stories. Highly recommend for all age groups
