        Fills some time.
It’s a filler trip. Gives you something to do. The river cruise is lame and not much to see. We saw two tiny gators. The rainforest part is about the same , a little more interesting. It fills some time but not much too it. Find other stuff to do!

An excellent day in the Rainforest
The tour was well put together and executed, largely thanks to our excellent and thoughtful guide, Mel. Lots of fun and lots of insight about the rainforest were shared.

Let people know in advance.. some highlights and some disappointments
There were some fabulous highlights and some disappointing moments. Understandably post cyclone there were changes to the itinerary however we were not informed of this until we were on the bus. We are very flexible and thought no worries we will give anything a ho. We thoroughly enjoyed Mossman gorge, and would have loved longer here. A big shout out to the team there and morning tea was delicious. The river cruise is well worth doing. We didn’t see any crocs but that was due to the time of the year and the skipper certainly did his best and was very informative. Thats where it all started to go south… The replacement options of a visit to a barramundi farm and a hobby fruit farm may appeal to some however as we live in Qld this was a basic and mediocre experience. The host of the barramundi farm did his best to make it interesting but it was pretty evident that even he was wondering ‘what the heck’? The lunch was very tasty there and much appreciated thank you to the chef! We were well ready for home at this stage however the visit to a local organic fruit farm to stretch out the day was pretty banal and definitely scraping the barrel. The tour guides enthusiasm could be considered disproportionate to this very basic experience, and overall we were disappointed and fed up. I would strongly recommend that it is made clear on purchase what the replacements on offer are - we would have happily accepted a half day and headed on to do enjoy another experience if we had been given prior notice. Another option would be to do the extended walk at mossman gorge with an extended swim … We will return to Port Douglas and do a tour when cape trib is reopened and are happy to have gone to support the locals and the economy in our small way. Please let people know, especially fellow Australians who are not going to swoon over a piece of dragon fruit out of an esky left on fairly tired looking picnic table. A bit underwhelming. 🥲

        Daintree full day
We did the post cyclone revised tour. We were initially disappointed that we wouldn't see Cape Trib etc but the day was wonderful and we loved it. The organic fruit farm was the highlight for us. Mel our guide was brilliant, very knowledgable, and so funny she should probably have her own show.

        Superb afternoon trip
This was a great afternoon tour to Daintree River and Mossman, with our excellent guide Mel, who shared many fun facts about the area. Bruce was our host for the river tour and brought us up close to the crocodiles! Swim in the gorge was brilliant too. Recommend this trip and thanks Mel for a memorable afternoon.

        Great experience!
We had a great time on this tour, it was the right amount of time on such a hot day. The Daintree and Mossman Gorge are amazing must visit places and there’s no better way to do it than with a guide and there’s no better guide than the guy we had, Mick a true Aussie guy.

Discovery Tour done Brilliantly by Tour Guide Kim
We booked this tour via the shop in the main street in Port Douglas which was super easy and fun. The staff were super helpful and it was really fun to talk to other tourists booking tours at the same time. Our tour guide collect us from our hotel on time and in a fantastic bus that was clean and comfortable. Our guide Kim was absolutely brilliant, full of knowledge about the local area, its history and vegetation. Kim really made the tour so worthwhile and we all had heaps of fun. Due to recent cyclone we did a slightly different version of this tour but it was still amazing. A must do if you are visiting Port Douglas and worth every dollar. We will return and we hope to see Kim again. He was the best!

        Fabulous adventure tour
What an amazing tour. Although it was raining cats and dogs we had the best tour ever. Spottet a crocodile on the river, ate exotic fruits and Mel was a fabulous guide: she just new everything about flora, fauna and history of the Daintree. My 7yrs old daughter also was amazed. Thanks a lot.

        Awesome
Mel was a complete joy with her scope of knowledge and facts. She kept up a steady stream of positivity and friendliness throughout the tour. Considering the Cyclone and its effects, Mel ensured that we got the most out of the trip and we didn’t feel short changed at all. Brad on the cruise was also so friendly and forthcoming with his knowledge. A definite must for a half day trip.

        Half day Tour
Thank you @daintreediscoverytours for an amazing day. Despite the worst flooding port Douglas has seen in 100 years the team at @daintreediscoverytours were able to put together a half day tour which included * a river cruise were I was able to see my first croc in its natural habitat * an exotic fruit farm visit where we were able to sample fresh produce. * and the highlight for me was taking a refreshing swim in the Daintree, which by the way is the worlds oldest surviving rainforest….. I wouldn’t be filled with so much information if it wasn’t for our tour guide Mel who was by far the most amazing tour guide ever. She was a bank of knowledge and had our tour group in stitches. Highly recommend her

We spent an amazing time in this tour. Thank you Kim for your interesting commentary whilst you were driving. First, we went to Daintree Village and our adventure started up/down the river by boat with a friendly guide and his little doggie. We were outside of croc season, so we did not get to see any crocs. After a delicious morning tea, we went to Cassowary Falls for a swim. To get there, our journey was travelling in the back of an open top zebra print landrover which adds an amazing twist to the experience. In the waterfalls, we fed the fish and the turtles and the place is absolutely stunning. Overall a really enjoyable and awesome morning out.
      I recommend 200% this tour.

This is an excellent tour. The cruise along the Daintree River is excellent with lots of informative commentary. After that we had scones jam & cream with coffee at the cafe in the Rainforest Village. The drive into the Cassowary Falls is great. It includes the last section of the the track on private property in a 4WD which was a lot of fun. The falls were amazing. The water is very refreshing, and a great experience to swim under the waterfall. Our tour driver for day (Kim) was fantastic, gave us lots of information along the way, and really looked after us.

We loved the half day morning tour and felt like it was just the right amount of time!
Bruce’ river cruise was great and he made sure we saw some crocodiles in the river. We then went to where we rode in a 4WD to the waterfall swimming hole. The 4WD ride was a nice surprise as we sat on the open back and enjoyed the track down to the waterfall. Only thing I would suggest is if you don’t like swimming with fish, there are a lot in the swimming hole which are use to people so you’ll find yourself bumping into them! Overall a very enjoyable morning that I would definitely recommend!

Who thought you could see a croc, safari through Daintree, feed turtles and river perch, and swim in a majestic private waterfall all in half a day, and for under $100! Chris, our tour guide, was amazing - so much local knowledge and ensured we all had the best experience possible. Can not recommend highly enough. Thanks for a great day!

A fantastic way to explore this beautiful part of the world. Our guide, Grant , was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining - we thoroughly enjoyed this memorable tour, and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. The half day tour included some unique experiences - a private waterfall tour and crocodile viewing on the Daintree.

If travelling to Port Douglass I would highly recommend you take this tour. It is a lot of fun with many activities included from boat rides, seeing amazing rainforest and crocodiles to 4WD adventure, cafe and swimming at the water falls with all kids of fish life. Our tour guide Kim was great with amazing knowledge and great jokes. It was so much fun for all of my family. Thanks Kim.

Our family of 4 had an enjoyable morning on this tour.

We were picked up from Mossman bowling club as we were driving up to the Daintree in the afternoon. Kim was an enjoyable driver/tour guide. Bruce our boat operator was very knowledgeable and managed to find the crocs we were looking for. He did say on the colder months they bask on the banks. This may have been a better time to get the best look at these great animals.

The bus took us to the main entrance of Mossman Gorge, where we jumped on the public bus to the Gorge proper. this is a spectacular spot and a must if you are fresh water swim junkies like our family.

In hindsight, as we had a hire car, we could have relatively easily driven ourselves to these two attractions and had a relatively similar experience (and saved quite a bit of money) but that was our decision and I would certainly recommend this tour for anyone not confident doing a self drive tour.

Hi Greg & Renae, thank you for joining us on a half day tour and great to hear you enjoyed your time spent with our guide Bryce. It is the passion and knowledge of the Daintree Rainforest that our guides share with our guests, what makes the difference between a self drive and a guided tour. There is so much to learn about this amazing area, and I’m happy you got a taste of that on our half day tour.

We were warmly greeted by Kim on our hotel pickup. We were lucky to have a small group, and personal attention by Kim and his extreme knowledge of the area. Kim was extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. He even suggested that we go and see the Sunday Port Douglas markets and he went out if his way to drop us off there.

The Daintree river cruise was most enjoyable in the cool of the morning, where we managed to see several crocodiles sunning themselves and also some baby crocs. Bruces’ experience on the river was invaluable in finding the crocs, which also allowed us to get up close for pictures.

The Mossman Gorge walk was easy and relaxing to take in the cool rainforest. We also manage to have time for a quick dip in the refreshingly cool rock pool. Our guide Kim even ablighed us by taking some photo of us experiencing this beautiful tranquil place.

We were so lucky and pleased that we had Kim as our guide for this tour.
      Cheers

We did the early morning half day tour with our guide Matt.

There were only 16 of us on the tour so it felt really personal. Matt was such a great host and guide. He made the trip fun and interesting, pointed out loads of things that we would never have seen or discovered if we went on our own.

The half day trip was about the right amount of time, especially if you don’t want to do a big walk around the rainforest (in 30 degree heat).

The boat trip was really interesting and our captain Bruce was just cracking as a guide, very knowledgeable about the river and where to search for crocs.

Spotting a croc was a bit of an art, but we got there right at the end. Great to see, even if “Bruce” the croc was a little sleepy.

A great intro to the Daintree and worth doing.
