First time scuba diving and happy we were able to do it with Silversonic. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Took care of us from the very start. Coffee/tea in the AM before departure. Lunch was also filling and delicious. They take you to three different reefs. Absolutely stunning views! If you don’t have a go pro on hand they have a few underwater cameras you can hire. Otherwise you can purchase a few photos taken of you and the reef at the end of the trip.

Don’t worry if you haven’t gone scuba diving before. The team is exceptional and they make you feel ready. Our instructor was Gordon. He was very informative, light hearted, fun and made the experience enjoyable and easy. He was patient with those of us who have never gone diving before and put us at ease! Highly recommend going with Silversonic and if you can have Gordon as an instructor, that’s an added bonus!

We will definitely be back again! :)

We have just had the most amazing Dive Trip to Agincourt with Silver Sonic.

Fantastic crew

Gordo the Dive Master was a treat and great fun to dive with. We dived all 3 sites.

We are Certified, but he took great care to ensure everyone was safe and all equipment was attached correctly and functioning properly.
He did a fantastic job as our underwater tour guide, letting us all take our time to see some awesome reef, while at the same time ensuring he kept an eye out on where we were and everyone's air usage. SO EASY to burn through the tank when there is so much to look at.

Plenty of snacks and a good selection of tucker for lunch.

This is our 3rd trip with Silver Sonic and there will be more

Excellent experience! Fantastic friendly crew, great diving sites with many fish and knowledgeable marine biologists.
We went there with 2 young’s kids - 9yo - perfectly suited for them and they just loved it! It’s our second time with quicksilver and if silversonic is slightly more expensive, it is worth every dollar spent.
Food is also great.
The sea was a bit rough - but again the staff was well prepared and did everything to manage the inconvenience.
Definitely something to recommend!

This was by far the highlight of our trip - the Silversonic cruise was well staffed, professionally operated and logistically sound. The customer service/friendliness of the staff was excellent and everyone certainly seemed safe and comfortable. The snorkel gear was without fault, food services had a variety, sea sickness tablets available onboard and the onboard marine talk was also great. Only suggestions to Silversonic would be to have an acknowledgment of Country during the tour info/briefing and an info sheet about their dedication to covid safety and cleanliness especially as they’re dealing with face/mouth/body equipment. We highly recommend booking Silversonic or another ‘Quicksilver Group’ tour with in QLD

We spent the day out at Agincourt Reef aboard Silversonic and had a great day.
We booked 3 certified dives and were allocated Gordon as our dive guide. Gordon was friendly, professional and made sure everyone was safe and comfortable. We had a mix of experience in our group of 8, but Gordon ensured the novice divers went back to the boat when required and the more experienced divers were able to continue for longer.
The stinger suits and dive equipment were included in the price, so we just took our own masks and dive computers.
The buffet lunch was very good, lots of food and a decent selection of hot and cold dishes was provided.
Overall it was a very good day, all of the staff were friendly and accommodating.

The trip itself was great and the dive guides were fantastic. Tammi and Addi really made a nervous diver feel completely comfortable in the water and I'm so grateful for it. There was a snorkel tour too and the staff pointed out things I would have missed on my own (like a lion fish!) The dive sites were beautiful and the equipment was top quality. No leaky masks here!
The only downside (which is beyond their control) is that it is a long day of sea sickness if you are prone to motion sickness. This boat is a catamaran AKA a vomit comet. The reef is WELL worth a bit of sea sickness but make sure you take sea sickness pills. Beware when booking as the company have a high minimum number and will cancel on you if they don't meet it, no matter how inconvenient this is for you.

We went on Silversonic a couple of days ago for a day of diving and snorkeling and I already want to go again. I am a certified diver but my partner isn’t but wanted to give it a go and the Silversonic team made that extremely easy while also letting me do some certified dives. One of the team, Gordon, who took us on the intro dive with my partner is a legend and made my partner feel very comfortable for her first dive… she ended up doing a second dive! Kevin was also awesome leading me on the certified dives. The rest of the crew were also amazing and ready to help with anything. I hope to run into Gordon and Kevin for some more diving in the future.

SilverSonic is a very commercialised operation. Very crowded onboard given Covid-19 restrictions. Impossible to maintain 1.5m social distancing whilst onboard. The company still went ahead with self-serve buffet onboard (I was informed that no self-serve buffet onboard when booking). Constant reminder to all passengers to check in with QLD Covid Safe App at the service desk at the Marina but no evidence of any social distancing onboard is shocking.

Almost impossible to hear the guide explaining about the reef out at the deck.

Reef sites were average with fair amount of bleaching noted. Average amount of marine life despite swimming for about 100m away from the SilverSonic docking site. Final reef site was the most exciting but had the least amount of time to explore.

Service: fair
Ambience: none
Food: plentiful but average in quality
Overall experience: Average

Would definitely not recommend to anyone looking for a personalised experience. Suitable for those who are just looking for basic transportation out to Agincourt Reef.

Diving the outer barrier reefs is a very special trip and really good crew makes it even a nice day. Super friendly and helpful when ever possible. We went out with the Silversonic tour in February, it is the slower season up in Port Douglas our trip was just over half full with 78 guests. The crew to guest ratio was pretty high because of that. I was assigned Steve as my dive master and he was probably the best dive master I have dove with on a large excursion in my 37 years of diving. Really on top of each guest and a great judge of their abilities. A comprehensive dive plan is important when leading a group and Steve did it really well. Clear descriptions and a good review of hand signals and the ships protocol made for a very enjoyable experience. Steve Knew were to find the sharks, turtles and other sea life. The rest of the crew were there to help too. Especially a female crew member who was guiding a smirking tour in the third dive. She was out with her group when she spotted a guest in trouble about 75-100 yards away, she quickly instructed the group to stay together and took off. She most have been the first to see the guest because we saw the crew on deck jumping into the zodiac and race out to derive her and the guest. All were fine but her quick professional reaction was great to see. Lending a hand when needed or just having snacks or meals ready. Many times these large dive boats are impersonal and seem like a factory churning out a product, not on the Sliversonic seems like the captain set the tone with his friendly manner as he passes through the cabins during the head counts after each dive. If I have the pleasure of diving in Port Douglas again I wouldn’t hesitate to do it aboard another Silversonic boat.

Hey 970halr, Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your experiences with us. We are glad to hear that you had a special time with us and we were able to tick all the right boxes for you. The capacity for Silversonic is actually around 89, so your day of travel was not far off full capacity :) This definitely helps with keeping that personal experience and those crew - passenger rations low! We will pass on your thanks to the crew, especially Steve! Hopefully we get the chance to see you again if you get the opportunity to come back to Port Douglas! Kind regards, Team QSG

We spent 1 day on Poseiden and 1 on Sliversonic (crewed and run by the same company). Our 14 year old got to scuba dive for the first time and because of the great care from the crew and instructors took to it like a duck to water. They were also vreat at keeping us infrequent divers out of trouble and showed off the reef to it's best. Both boats arw well run and equipped and the lunches and snacks are good and plentiful. A big thanks to Tami, Macca and Simon in particular for taking care of us.
