About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- JonathanP4000 contributionsSuperb Day TripSteve our guide was bursting with enthusiasm and knowledge to share, making this one of the most fascinating, thought provoking and informative trips we have ever had. We loved the zip lining, lunch, swim and cruise where we saw a saltwater crocodile. Superb and well worth the money.Written 22 October 2024
- Departure555300 contributionsCovered everything with a fantastic guide as a bonusFantastic guide who made a great trip even more special. Learnt so much and the trip had a fantastic variety of activities so was appealing to all members of the family. Relaxing to not have to worry about getting ourselves around and met some lovely people on the tour as well.Written 25 September 2024
- sammQ4201NB0 contributionsFantastic Daintree experience! We were recommended this tour by some friends and it did not disappoint. Everything was taken care of, Dale our guide was very knowledgeable and updated us on the Daintree history and important information. My partner and I had a terrific experience and we would highly recommend this tour, for anyone wanting a unique experience of the area.Written 14 August 2024
- W396VThollyf0 contributionsgreat way to experience the Daintree! An amazing day, well organised tour. Dale and Millsy were fantastic guides and very knowledgeable about the area and its history. Great fun!Written 2 July 2024
- SydneyTravelFood0 contributionsThe perfect day trip to Cape Tribulation and Daintree ForestSuch a wonderful experience. We had the most amazing driver who kept us entertained during the whole trip and shared a lot of information about Cape Tribulation and its history. Pick up and drop off were effortless. The river tour was great and we spotted several crocodiles. Clearly the ferryman has a very personal connection to these animals and it made the trip even more memorable. You could tell how heartbroken he was when he told stories about crocodiles who had to be shot in the past because tourists interfered with them (at night, while being drunk, ignoring numerous warnings) and were subsequently attacked - please stay away and respect the wildlife, people! The zipline tour was a lot of fun, we were first timers and it was really easy. The instructors were very helpful and patient with everyone. I would say that the zipline tour can be done by most people including children, however, a very basic fitness level is required. Mentioning this because we had a lot of elderly participants in our group who had trouble climbing the few stairs and seemed to be surprised that they had to engage in physical activities at all. We were also served morning tea and lunch, and stopped at an ice cream factory in the afternoon, they had delicious tropical flavours made from fruit harvested at their own farm. So many wunderful activities packed in just one day, highly recommend!Written 8 December 2023
- TraceyScott740 contributionsFun even for oldiesLoved the exhilarating experience. As a couple of 50 year olds I was surprised how much we loved this small group tour. Millsy was a great guide.Written 7 December 2023
- shelleyf8070 contributionsFantastic Company & tourAbsolutely fantastic tour with Dale (aka Dave, Daryl 😊), thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge of this beautiful part of our Country. I highly recommend the full day “ultimate ziplining tour”.Written 25 October 2023
- adamh3720 contributionsDefinitely would recommend this Daintree experience!Definitely and experience to be remembered! We were impressed from the moment we were picking up. Dale, our guide, gave a fantastic commentary. He went above and beyond to let us know all about the country we were visiting. It felt so relaxed, but we managed to fit so much in. Morning tea at Cape Tribulation, zip lining through the rainforest canopy for a couple of hours was absolutely amazing, a great lunch and a quick dip in the beautiful clear water in the forest with jungle perch swimming around us, then closer to the salt water, a pleasant cruise up Coopers creek to spot at least one large croc on the bank. Great ice cream to finish up before driving back to Port Douglas. Five stars and two thumbs up.Written 3 October 2023
- Sarah M0 contributionsAwesome day!We had the best day on this tour! Picked up from our accommodation in Port Douglas and driven out to the Daintree. Our guide Dale was so informative, funny and knowledgeable. We loved hearing the history and quirky facts he knew. The stops were all so different and also awe inspiring in their own ways. The zipline tour was so fun and the swim at the lodge was just magical. We would definitely do it again!Written 26 September 2023
- 502milliw0 contributionsReally Fun Day!My friends and I had a really great time on this tour. The ziplining was so fun, we got to see a crocodile, and the scenery was just incredible. Kerry was such an awesome guide, too. We highly recommend!Written 19 September 2023

- joshuacE7328JF0 contributionsAmazing experience from KirstyOn the 22nd of July my best mate and he’s kids and I went on a guided tour with Kirsty to the Daintree rainforest and cape tribulation. The knowledge Kirsty had was phenomenal, able to answer all our questions and just provided the best guided tour. She was able to cater for everyone and was awesome with the kids. She made our whole day trip amazing, the day was full packed with laughter. Kirsty just was outstanding and amazing. At the end of the day we had a group photo and everyone on the bus was so so happy with the service she provided it was so professional and she made all our day so much better. So on behalf of myself and the group I wanted to thank her for her awesome service she provided us, and giving you guys a really really good name, definitely will be remembering this for along time and recommending your company because of her.Written 15 August 2023
- rebelnorm0 contributionsVery good value and a hit with kids. If you do have kids think to bring backup foodReally great value for money. Our guide (Kirsty ) was fabulous. She was pateint, time conscious, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I am particularly impressed by her ability to talk for that long on the bus ride. The morning tea had a bit of everything for everyone, fruit and desserts and tea/coffee plus snacks. Highlight was definitely the Zipline tour with photo options - kids seemed to love it too. But I also got to see 3 crocodiles on the cruise. The lunch was advertised as a picnic but was just a choice of 3 wraps. When everyone lined up the people at the end just got the cheese and tomato wrap (ie. me :() - I also saw a couple of kids have meltdowns over not liking one of the ingredients in their wrap. It seemed very rushed at some of the locations (the swim was not really possible, and we didn't get long to walk along the beach) but it could have been the big groups of families on that particular day. I also usually like to go on big walking tours and this one was definitely not that. Compare this to the price of actually getting a hire car, paying for the ferry, paying for all those experiences plus petrol and food and you'll find this tour is VERY good value. Plus some of the information I learned from having a guide vs going solo completely changes the experience. Also it's great to be able to sit back and view the scenery (there was LOTS) instead of having to drive and pay attention to the road.Written 6 July 2023
- karens8170 contributionsA truly great way to experience the DaintreeWhat a fabulous adventure... can't recommend it enough!! While we were spoilt with a private tour (we lashed out for our honeymoon), we had the same itinerary as the group tour. Thank you soooo much Monika for making this happen and kudos to our AMAZING guide for the day, Kirsty!! We had such a ball with you... you were so knowledgeable and such wonderful company. The trip was so well planned and the ziplining was a spectacular way to see the Daintree.Written 7 June 2023

Our family of six, consisting of two adults, two teenagers and two children all thoroughly enjoyed our Daintree, Mossman and Cape Tribulation tour.
Our guide and driver Ben was fantastic and very informative. He patiently answered every question our very inquisitive children threw at him.
We highly recommend this tour with Daintree Tours

My husband and I went on this tour for our first anniversary. Originally we had wanted to go snorkeling instead, however those tours were totally booked for the day. So this meant that we were "settling" for this tour, and had pretty high expectations for the day. It was however, the best way we could have spent the day, yes even more than snorkeling I think. The rain forest is beautiful, and the tour guide we had was so incredibly knowledgeable. The itinerary was packed, so I fully feel like I saw all the major points of interest and got an overview of the region. But it still wasn't so packed that I ever felt rushed. We saw the beach, a walk through the rain forest, a visit to Mossman Gorge, an crocodile cruise, and a stop at an ice cream parlor. Overall, this was not my first choice of a tour, and that was my mistake. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the region.

The best part was experiencing and learning about the Daintree Rainforest and surrounding areas (OK, the whole day :)). - I think a tour of this area is imperative on your first visit to the Daintree, otherwise you will miss many things! I also greatly appreciate a few other aspects of this tour. Firstly, that along with history about European explorers, indigenous people were rightly credited with 'discovering' Australia. Secondly, that our tour guide for the crocodile section didn't 'tease' (sorry, don't know if this is the right expression) the crocodiles with food, but left a respectful distance, so we got to see them how they are normally. Lastly, just the general respect and care that the tour guides showed. Thanks Ben for a wonderful day and we will recommend Daintree Tours to others!

I had a great experience worth this tour, our guide was very interesting and informative. Our guide could definitely spin a good yarn and tell great pieces of history. The other activities were good and we were able to see a lot of the rainforest. The only criticism is that this tour would be very weather reliant, we had the good fortune of having a big storm the day before, so all the streams were running and we could see the Daintree is full swing. If we had went the day before it would have been annoying to be rained all on. There were several advantages to the small tour group size, which helped the tour be very enjoyable.

My husband, 2 sons (ages 22 and 20) and I recently took the all day Daintree trip. While it was okay, we found that there was too much down time built into the itinerary. I think it could have easily been condensed into a shorter trip. Our guide Ben was fantastic though and very accommodating when my husband needed to leave early.

Amazing Amazing Amazing, our tour guide Sean was very knowledgeable and a great guide taking us to extraordinary spots. The tour ran like clock work, everything we did exceeded our expectations, that was until the river ferry broke its cable ( apparently the first time in 35 years ) That’s when Sean, Chris and the team at Calypso stepped it up. They made sure we were well informed and instead of waiting in the queue that went for miles we were taken to extra spots on the island. Then whilst every other tourist and tour group were waiting for the ferry to be fixed we were whisked to the front of the very long line where a private boat was waiting to Ferry us across the river ( thanks Bruce!! ) that’s where the wonderful Chris was waiting for us in another Calypso bus. So all I can say is Calypso tours aren’t just professional they are super stars!!! Can’t thank you all enough for a wonderful day. Thanks again Sean you really were calm under pressure today and deserve a nice bonus. Thanks to all the Calypso/ Daintree tours team. Will only book with them going forward!! Really looking forward to our reef tour on Tuesday!!

We went on the Daintree tour as part of a 2 part deal through Calypso after doing a great barrier reef tour.
Our tour of the Daintree was well organised with great stops at a number of locations including a river cruise where we were lucky enough to see some crocs!
The highlight of the day however had to be our excellent tour guide Dale who absolutely made the day for us. We learned so much about the history of both the rainforest and the surrounding area, not a minute was wasted and we left feeling like experts in our own right! Dale was clearly incredibly passionate about the rainforest and Douglas shire and we can't thank him enough for a great tour!
I would highly recommend this tour over any other!

7.20am pick up and 4pm return. Fully guided tour with Peter as our host. Pete was very knowledgeable and great interaction with good banter and ensured everyone was introduced to each other. Some good boardwalks and breathtaking Cape Tribulation. We also went in a tinny boat for a tour on Cooper Creek…..we even had a crocodile pose for us, jaws a wide lol (lovely from a distance), once again a entertaining host for this boat ride. Finished off with a nice ice cream from Daintree Ice Creamery (not included in the cost - but ultra delicious and worthy of a taste). Finished tour at Mossman Gorge, nicer to watch than swim in but didn’t stop many others participating.

Kerry was a fantastic guide and made everyone in the tour feel comfortable and educated on the rainforests and local stories and histories.
Kerry knew all of our names 10 minutes in and we all left the tour as friends. I highly recommend this full day tour for anyone new to the area as this part of Queensland is full of rich history and even prehistoric plants!
Thank you again Kerry,

Hello is this tour currently operating ? Would love to do it with my daughter from port Douglas
Written 9 January 2024
Hi, the Tour was operating in September when we went however there has been significant flooding to the North since then probably causing damage to the walking tracks. Get hold of the Tour operators via your booking sites and im sure they would anwer your question correctly.
Written 10 January 2024
Hello, Is this tour suitable for a 4, 8 and 11 year old?
If not, any recommendations on how to best see the daintree with children?
Written 9 November 2021
This is a long tour but if your children are able to accept being confined to a small boat and van this is ok. Otherwise you could request a personalised family tour whereby the touring hours could perhaps be adjusted.
As a couple we thoroughly enjoyed our day!

Hi, I am a tad confused about the information regarding pick up from Cairns. Is a pick up available for this tour and if so what time? We are looking at the 30/8/2021.
Written 29 July 2021
Hi, I thoroughly recommend this tour. We got picked up at our BnB in Port D & returned there too.
We traveled in Sept 2020 when a lot of Cairns & Port Douglas was emerging from Covid ( round 1). They were pretty flexible then & I am pretty sure they were driving up from Palm Cove.
There are easy options Cairns to Port, so I am sure the team will be able to sort out a suitable arrangement.
Just phone them - they are a relaxed yet professional bunch.
When in Cairns, don't forget the Kuranda Scenic Railway - Skyway cable car.
Although we had a car, a small bus tour also worked so much better for us.
Good luck with arrangements. Ciao Graham Tewantin QLD.

My partner and I will be at The Pullman Sea Temple Port Douglas, will you be able to pick us up from here?
Written 14 June 2021
Hi
We were picked up close by to where you will be in Port, so I assume the answer will be yes.
When you phone to book just let them know. They were only too happy to oblige.
You will enjoy the tour - hope you have fine weather.
Ciao Graham

Do I get picked up from a Cairns Hotel? What time will I be picked up if that is so? Thank you!
Written 8 March 2021
This team will organise something to suit you I am sure.
Generally they operate out of Port Douglas & head north to Mosmann & Daintree.
In these quieter times they will bend over backwards to suit you.
Alternatively organise a taxi & treat the trip up to Port Douglas as a scenic trip ... its pretty much all along the coast & beaches.
Any hotel concierge or Tourist Info place in Cairns will have the answer.
There are regular bus services Cairns to Port Douglas anyway.
You WILL ENJOY - hope you have nice weather.
Ciao Graham

Is there many snakes to be seen on route?
Not that I am crazy about them 😂😂
Thanks
Written 31 December 2020
Hi, we didn't see any snakes & didn't hear any tales about them. Snakes in Far North Qld are well worth keeping well away from anyway!
We were delighted to see a Cassowary up close just mooching along the road.
Crocodiles ... if you do the tour you will probably go on a short cruise where Crocs are regularly sighted. My photos should give you the right ideas on this tour. Exceptionally good.
