      Lifetime experience
This trip on a cat was excellent from start to finish, morning coffee and biscuits, an excellent buffet lunch, cheese and biscuits and bubbles on the return journey. All the staff were friendly and helpful and knew their stuff. Lovely bit of acoustic guitar and singing on the return journey. We were lucky with calm still weather and visibility was perfect for the snorkelling, it was an experience not to be forgotten!

      Great Day Out
Enjoyed an amazing cruise today Low Isles Wavedancer. We were kept informed of activities on the day with clear extensive instructions. Lunch was wonderful. Although water activities were not for me I appreciated the support of my elderly partner who enjoyed snorkeling. A glass of wine and music along with singing on the return trip was a nice bonus. While all staff were polite and helpful Hayley’s passion for her chosen career was remarkable and Simons personality perfect for the job.

Great service, facilities and marine life.
Just wonderful service and we saw so much around the island. The group six was quite big but we knew that given the boat size. Lunch was magnificent and that complimentary glass of bubbles at the end was a nice touch. We saw turtles, reef sharks and so many other awesome sea life. Well done guys.

Great day out at Low Isles
Such a great trip with little ones. Cruise took about 1 1/2 hrs to get out to the Low Isles. Upon arrival we were all ushered to the front deck where we were told about the rules for the island. Then we all grabbed our snorkeling gear and stinger suits (even though it wasn't the season for stingers we were still recommended to wear them) and headed to the island. Smorgasbord lunch was also provided on board. Was a great place for people who aren't strong swimmers as you could swim around in the shallow waters and it wasn't rough or choppy. Would highly recommend this day trip.

      An Unforgettable Day!
What an unforgettable experience! Pickup from Palm Cove direct to the boat along the coastline, a beautiful 1 hour sail to the island. Snorkelling instructions and information provided was fantastic. Very friendly staff and service. Would recommend taking the glass bottom boat out and eating lunch before the snorkelling experience / walk around the island so that you don’t waste time on the shuttle to and from the island. Grey (crew member) sang us back to Port with a complimentary glass of bubbles. Was highly enjoyable and would definitely recommend!

      Great cruise
We went in the glass bottom boat first as most people went snorkeling. It was a very informative ride and we got to see lots. We saw a reef shark and turtles and lots of coral. We then ate lunch which was delicious especially the prawns and there was plenty to eat. We then went snorkeling and the water was very warm. The staff were great and gave lots of information. We had a complimentary glass of wine on the way back. There is tea, coffee and water available throughout the trip. We had a fantastic time and would recommend this trip.

      Breath taking
Fun from start to finish. From food to service to snorkeling to the excellent music on the way back in with a couple of wines. But do need to have some sort of pontoon on the beach at low isles, to walk onto to get into stinger suits and put flippers on and then slide into the water. saves flippers and stinger suits filling up with sand OUCH.

      Excellent tour , highly recommend.
We had a perfect calm, clear and warm day to make the trip out to Low Isles. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day which exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly , very professional and we felt in good hands. The boat is lovely and spacious to allow for social distancing with high quality facilities on board. The snorkelling experience with marine biologist, Glen, was a real highlight. Glen is a wealth of knowledge and an hour or so of snorkelling flew by. The coral and marine life we saw was rich, diverse and surprisingly very healthy. A great experience! We also did the island walk with Glen and found that extremely interesting and worthwhile. Lunch was plentiful and delicious as were the snacks offered. Highly recommend this tour as a very worthwhile activity while in Port Douglas. We liked the fact that as an older couple, the day was not as long as going to the outer reef and we felt we gained a good insight into a coral reef ecosystem without a touch of seasickness!

Super friendly staff and amazing coral and sealife!
We had the most amazing time! My husband and I were visiting on our honeymoon and the staff were so friendly and everyone congratulated us and even gave us a free bottle of sparkling wine! Glenn the marine biologist was super knowledgeable. Emily the lifeguard was always watching and making sure everyone was ok which we greatly appreciated as my husband has asthma. We got to see so much amazing stuff! So many beautiful colours! We also spotted some black tip reef sharks catching fish near the shore. When we went snorkeling, we definitely got 'carried away' as the current swept us over the reef where it was too shallow but we were having such a great time, we didn't notice until it was too late! Luckily, we found a way out and got to shore safely and had lunch. We would recommend this cruise! Hopefully one day we can come back. Lowe Isles was amazing!

We have recently needed to cancel our trip to Port Douglas including our booking on the Wavedancer low isles cruise due to COVID travel restrictions and border closures.

The team at Wavedancer/Quicksilver cruises responded promptly and compassionately to my communication. I could not have asked for a better response (other than being able to travel), they processed a full refund and sent clear communication of this with no additional stress or requirements from us.

Thank you for your professional and compassionate response QSC, we hope to be able to re-book with you in the near future.

From start to finish this was by far the best day trip I have experienced in a long time. The boat is fantastic and the crew is friendly and energetic, always happy to help with a smile.
The trip out was smooth and lovely viewing. We were allocated assigned seating however could move around whilst sailing. There are a number of areas to sit or stand to enjoy the trip.
The boat has plenty of toilets and a change room all which were very clean.
The Low Isles is such a pretty area, the water is clear and azure which makes for fantastic snorkeling. Our kids played on the beach after having a little go at snorkeling so my husband and I took turns snorkeling. We both saw numerous sea turtles and beautifully coloured fish and coral. Just magestic. All snorkeling gear (including stinger suits) were provided inclusive in the cost which is great.
You could also take a glass bottom boat tour and the operators will try and linger quietly in an area if you locate a sea turtle so you can wait for them to surface.
Lunch is provided and was lovely and fresh - salads, fresh meat and fruits etc - very tasty.
You were given plenty of time to snorkel, explore the low isles and you could move between the isle and boat whenever you liked, could have your lunch when suitable to you.
On the trip home they shouted a complimentary glass of bubbly which was unexpected and a lovely touch.
A wonderful day out and I would definitely do this again when in the area.

Quicksilver do great trips and I’m never concerned about quality to expect .

This was a affordable family day trip onto the reef.
Although we did enjoy a amazing buffet lunch , glass bottom boat, snorkelling in the island the weather was terrible and the trio was a bit of a chunder trip for many . Also the weather and no sun meant there was little colour and challenging to snorkel with the wind .

On a calm and sunny day this would be an awesome trip . This time for me it was more like a day filler unfortunately which is largely due to the poor weather.

All snorkel equipment is available and also nice to see the sails up on this journey to .

What a great day this was. It started of with 3 humpbacks (mother, juvenile and calf) coming up close and personal to the boat in about the first 30 minutes of the day. When we got to our mooring at the Low Isles a turtle came to feed off the mooring rope, literally within touching distance. We also had a couple of reef sharks swimming around the boat. The crew kept a continuous shuttle service between the island and Wavedancer throughout our stay as well as running several glass bottom boat trips out. I had a turtle surface about a couple of feet of my face, whilst out snorkelling which was pretty awesome. The lunch provided was excellent, of very good restaurant standard at the very least. To finish the day we had a swim-by by a snub-fin Dolphin. With all that I had to agree with the way one crew member put it in that great Aussie humorous way “if you didn’t enjoy the day i wouldn’t bother coming back”.
Onto the crew. What a great, enthusiastic and motivated bunch of people whose humour and professionalism added greatly to the enjoyment of the day. These people are doing it really tough up there, just as tourism was picking up again they get hit by the Sydney and Melbourne lockdowns. They didn’t get any lockdown pay, or any other payment, and are not sure when the next cruise (and payday) will be and yet at no stage did this come through. They were upbeat and fun and made sure we all enjoyed the day (and listening to other people on the cruise they were very successful in this). Thoroughly recommend doing this cruise.

We were with a tour group of 27 people from the USA. A large bus picked us up at our hotel in Cairns and then drove to Port Douglas. We saw large termite nests on the side of the road. Unfortunately the tape program about our sailing trip didn't work. We were lucky that there were only 50-60 people on the boat so plenty of room to sit inside in the air condition area or outside in multiple areas. Quite hot and sunny outside so make sure you take hats, rash shirts and reef safe sunscreen. There was a marine biologist who spoke a bit on the sail to the Low Isles.

Everyone who wanted to snorkel was fitted for a thin black stinger suit due to jellyfish. We didn't see many jellyfish but better to be safe than in pain. The stinger suit covered the head and entire fingers/palm area. A shuttle dropped us off on the small island and then we swam with the marine biologist for the first part of the session. The coral was wonderful and a tremendous variety of coral. The fish population was minuscule and not impressive at all. We did see some large live clams, black tipped sharks and turtles. We did have an underwater camera and enjoyed taking pictures.

The shuttle went back and forth to the big catamaran and we returned for lunch. The lunch was okay. Cold water and a watery colored drink was available at no charge. There was a bar area to buy soda or other drinks, plus bags of chips. The shuttle was also the glass bottom boat but since we were using it as a shuttle we didn't really see any fish or coral on the trips back and forth to the island. There are no restrooms on the island so use the facilities on the boat.

On the second snorkel session for us, we swam in different area and saw 2 mantra rays. They were huge and a special treat for us. When we were finished for the day, we were hosed off with fresh water which was nice before the boat ride back to the wharf and then bus ride back to Cairns.

Our experience on Wavedancer Low Isles was a perfect experience for the whole family. If you’re after a taste of the Great Barrier Reef, then this could well be your answer.

We travelled with a 7 year old, who is still learning to swim and a 12 year old who enjoys being in the water. The option of both snorkelling and a glass bottom boat meant both children were happy and we could accommodate everyone’s needs. Add to this, an opportunity to either be on an island or boat with our younger child meant there was always something to explore.

The ride out to Low Isles is about 1 hour. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. If you’re prone to motion sickness, sit on the upper deck at the stern after taking your sea sickness tablet (available on board). We had a little bit of choppy swell thanks to the Southerly/ South-Easterly winds, but the boat handles it very well.

The team on board are a slick operation - it was awesome to observe. They work non stop to ensure you all have a fantastic time. A particular mention of Jayson, Amanda and Archie - experienced, knowledgable and superb people skills. There is plenty of tasty food. Additional drinks and snack are available for purchase.

However, the real reason we were all there was to experience the Great Barrier Reef. It certainly delivered on our trip. We were there for one of the lowest tides of the year, so saw the reef both below and above the tide. Plenty of corals, fish, giant clams, reef sharks and turtles. Visibility in the water was pretty good.

This was our 12 year olds first go at snorkelling. Let’s just say they came out with a grin from ear to ear. Our 7 year old loved the glass bottom boat and spotting turtles swimming in the water between the reef.

Snorkelling gear, protective Lycra suits, slippers, life jackets, woggles all available on board. Just remember your towel and swimmers.

The Quicksilver Wavedancer crew shared great information about wildlife, marine life and conservation. I suspect our eldest now has a deeper appreciation and understanding of this truly magnificent and delicate ecosystem.

Grateful on every level to have experienced this. We’ve come home with salt crusted hair, wind swept faces and full hearts. Lifetime memories have been made today.

We were nervous about this trip because of high swell and wind forecast. Not to worry though, the team had prepared seasickness tablets for us all and checked on us regularly. The snorkeling was beautiful, the island lovely and the glass bottom boat tour was very educational. Lunch was fresh and filling with reasonably priced drinks. The whole time we felt cared for and looked after, nothing was too much trouble. We traveled with our 20 month old niece who even got given her own stinger suit! I highly recommend this company.

Wavedancer was the perfect size, and due to COVID-19 had fewer passengers than normal. This meant everything was accessible and no need to line up. The staff were terrific, friendly and attentive. Everything was done well, including briefing on the reef, instructions on snorkeling and the conservation message came through loud and clear. Coffee, tea and water was included as was a lovely lunch. Lunch was served to you and included prawns, chicken, pasta and a range of salads. You were encouraged to come back for more. On the way home cheese and biscuits was available. You can buy your own drinks onboard too. From hotel pick up to drop off this was an excellent experience. Suggest you ask them beforehand for a briefing sheet on what to bring etc. We did that and found it really helpful.

If you have small kids who cannot handle the two hour trip to the outer reef then this is great. You ride out to this small island with a cute light house in the middle. It has a nice beach and amazing coral and fish just off the beach. The program starts with a short talk about coral and the great barrier reef. Then you are fully equiped by the crew with snorkeling gear. The snorkeling is amazing. Then there is an ok lunch. Back to the beach and more snorkeling or a walking tour of the island. At about 3 pm it is back home. One of the crew sand songs on the deck and dispensed home spun wisdom. Plus free champagne. One terrific day. A special shout out to the office staff who gave us a refund when COVID stopped my wife going. This is a terrific outing.

A wonderful full day out with an awesome team. We knew there was a high wind warning when we got on the catamaran but the team took time to talk to us about the expected weather and encouraged us to take the complimentary sea sickness medication. When we picked up tea and coffee they again offered two kinds of medication. There were multiple presentations on the way out and their Covid management was really good. The island was lovely, including snorkelling with a huge turtle. All snorkeling gear was included including stinger suits and good quality masks and snorkels. Lunch was tasty and generous. Beautiful guitar playing and singing on the way home was the perfect journey home.
Our young son was ill on the way home. I think he was the only person on the boat thanks to the seasickness tablets. The staff were so kind and professional in helping clean us and the area up quickly and efficiently. Nothing was too much trouble.
A great day out I would definitely do again.
