        Best tour guide
Brett was our tour guide for the day He was so knowledgeable about the area and he told all his stories and information with such enthusiasm that it made the whole experience so much more fun and interesting. He was very inclusive of everyone who boarded the bus introducing everyone as they boarded. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the train a tree had fallen over the tracks but Brett was quick to rearrange our whole day and take us back to the Skyrail and do the tour in reverse which was brilliant. To overall the tour from start to finish was well worth it and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

        Excellent in every aspect
Every aspect of this day was well thought out and executed. Even when the scenic train got cancelled at the last minute, Chris came up with a new plan and by the time we got to the next stop, all the arrangements had been settled by the office staff. A great overview of the day, a bit of the area’s history and Chris always being where he said he would meet us and on time.

        Excellent start to finish
Chris was our guide for the day. From his heart welcome to information about the area and a few stories to orient us, he was all in. The scenic train was cancelled as we waited for the train to pull in. Chris went to plan b and then c, and by the time we got to the sky rail nearby, the office had rescheduled our tours for the day. No worries! We were in good hands. Every pickup and drop off occurred without a problem. Directions clear.Appreciated the day before reminder so I didn’t have to go through all our paperwork to ensure we were meeting at the right time and place.

        Fantastic day
Fantastic tour with Brett. Started the day at Hartleys crocodile park. Got to see quite a few crocodiles and go on a short boat cruise. Unfortunately due to heavy rainfall, the scenic rail was closed but we were able to do the scenic cable car ride which has some incredible views. Spent a short time in Kuranda for lunch, a variety of food options and shops for souvenirs. Brett is a great guide for the day and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour.

        Skyrail / Kuranda tour
Had a great day on the tour. Skyrail, Kuranda village and train ride were great. Our guide Chris (and Boson) were excellent. To be honest my wife and I enjoyed the trip in the bus just as much as the actual activities. (Thank you Chris) The small group made it easy to interact with each other and really enhanced the experience. Overall a great trip and would recommend it to anyone. Well done 'Brett's Kuranda & outback Tours'.

        Dissapointed!
The trip itself in terms of the itinerary is well worth your time but a series of errors on our particular tour impacted our overall enjoyment and comfort. The driver initial error was leaving behind two customers but he was then led astray by his team who clearly did not have a plan B. As a result: 1. The driver was asked to turn back more than an hour into the trip 2. Once we had travelled back about 10 mins, he was asked to turn back again 3. He was sent to the sky rail by error, resulting in us missing the train and being sent back to the sky rail Despite these errors, we would have been more than happy to give this tour a higher rating had it not been for actions of the owner. He was arrogant and unapologetic in his comments to myself and my cousin when we asked questions about the new itinerary for the day. It was a hot day and we were concerned about how the delays would impact my baby but he displayed no empathy at all. He spoke to us as though we were beneath him, making comments such as, 1. So, what we all have babies? 2. Calm down 3. These things happen 4. You need to change your attitude, etc. We did not raise our voices once, yet he continued to insinuate through comparison with other customers that our behaviour was untoward, not recognising that our questions came from a place of concern for the baby. If it were not for the kindness of the driver who really tried to make our day better, we would be giving this less than 3 stars.

I booked directly with the company rather than through a third party website and would always recommend this, as another couple on the same tour had been told by a third party booking agent that they could not be collected at the same accommodation I was staying at and had driven into Port Douglas.

The trip includes the price of the Kuranda Railway and Skytrain tickets. Brett collected me promptly from the place I was staying, with most of the other passengers already on board. The bus took about 20 people. We drove down the coast towards Cairns with Brett pointing out interesting views and giving us information about the area and some local issues.
On the Kuranda Railway you sit in allocated seats. The view on the Cairns - Kuranda journey are mostly off to the right hand side of the train with passengers seated on benches for four people, which means that there is only one person per bench who is really able to take decent photos. But the trip was really interesting nevertheless, and as the train was not full I was able to move to a seat opposite me so I was travelling facing forwards rather than backwards.

We had two hours free time in Kuranda to mooch around the markets, which are spread out throughout the small town, or to visit the butterfly farm or bird house. I visited the butterfly house which was quite entertaining and had some lunch at Le Petit Cafe which serves really nice crèpes. Unfortunately it started to rain quite heavily which curbed my mooch around the markets as I didn’t have a waterproof with me.

From Kuranda town, Brett escorted us all to the start of the Skytrain. Sadly it was still raining quite heavily so although we went on the Skytrain there was poor visibility through the rain and fog. The weather is not the fault of the tour operator however! On the way back to our accommodation we stopped at a surf club in Palm Cove for a drink. All in all despite the weather I had a great day and would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a trip out in the Port Douglas area. It would be possible to have done the trip myself in a hire car but Brett was a very informative guide.

We had a great time on our trip; went on the Kuranda train (plus upgrade), spent some time in the village, and went on the skyrail down.

It was well worth upgrading on the train - very comfortable with free-flowing drink and snacks. Views were wonderful!.

Our guide for the day was Dale. He was full of information about the area and clearly loves where he lives. His stories were informative and entertaining and definitely helped pass a long-ish bus ride.

      Would definitely recommend this trip.

We did this activity on our last day in Port Douglas and we loved it! It was such a cruisey trip there and our tour guide Dale was fantastic. The train was cancelled the day we went due to the amount of rain, but they were kind enough to offer an alternative at Harley’s Crocodile adventure. My partner and I had already done this, so we were fine with a later pick up time.
Dale stopped at all the lookouts and gave us a great rundown of the history or each town. The sky rail was beautiful and the falls were absolutely breathtaking!!! Also loved going into Kuranda and having a look around.
We stopped off at palm cove which was a nice break from walking and driving. The cocktails were delicious 🤤
Definitely recommend people to do for a day activity as you see quite a fair bit!

What a great day! We were collected promptly from our Port Douglas Apartment and we were on our way. The driver was so cheerful and informed us of snippets of information on our way to Cairns. Once at the Sky rail I found the process of getting on our car hassle free. What a sight above the trees we had. We hopped off at one of the stoops to get a closer look and a toilet stop before rejoining the sky rail Once in Kuranda we found there was a variety of cafes for lunch and a visit to the markets before heading the short walk to the train station. There were clear signage to show the way. The train ride down was full of great views and we were kept informed via the PA of the history of the line. Once we reached our station we were once again met by our cheerful driver for the short drive to Palm Cove where we had a break for a snack and drink at the surf club before returning to our Port Douglas accommodation.

Really enjoyed Brett’s Kuranda day tour yesterday from start to finish. Brett collected is from our hotel and gave a full tour commentary all the way to the Kuranda Scenic Railway where he then sorted everything out for us, all we had to do is sit back and relax. I’d highly recommend upgrading to gold class on the train, having done both options it’s easily worth that but extra. The sky rail down afforded spectacular views (as did the railway) and Brett was at the bottom waiting to greet us back onto the air conditioned bus. A relaxing cocktail / beer stop on the way back to Port Douglas and dropped off at the door. If you ask my kids what their favourite part of the tour was they would say “Brett”. Brett clearly loves what he does and that comes across in his knowledge, attention to detail, he has a theory about everything, and he’s just downright funny! Thanks again for an amazing day Brett - The Wakefield’s

Great trip, throughly recommended. Brett picked us up on time from our hotel. We were taken from Port Douglas to the train station where Brett got us all boarded with tickets in the same carriage. The train to Kuranda was excellent stunning views and good commentary with a couple of quick photo stops on the way. Brett met us at Kuranda station, gave a brief overview of the village and arranged to meet us a couple of hours later, giving us ample time to enjoy a leisurely lunch and look around the shops etc.He then escorted us to the sky rail, again ensuring we were all aware of the process. The sky rail itself was amazing. Despite Brett having a few issues with his bus, he kept us all well informed and never wavered from his enthusiastic commentary and jokes. We stopped on the way back for a quick group cocktail and chat at Palm Cove before being dropped back at our hotel. Happy Customers,

Thoroughly enjoyed a lovely day out with a small group (14 approx) with Anthony as our guide. Thanks to Anthony we traveled at a relaxed pace, learnt ALOT and experienced a really lovely part of far north Queensland. Everything was taken care of, communication was really good and I finished the day enjoying a sunset at Palm Cove reflecting on a day of exciting memories. The SkyRail provided a great insight to the rainforest and its ecology, partaking in this first I think enabled me to get more out of the Kuranda Train later in the day. For example, you see Barron Falls from two perspectives and you travel through the rainforest + above it. Doing the two activities was perfect and I really recommend them both for a complete experience. I couldn't fault the Kuranda Train either, I upgraded to Gold service and thought it complemented the train perfectly. Thanks for a great day out Anthony and crew.

We had a fantastic day out with Andrea, who had to step in at the last moment as their regular driver had Covid. She was really friendly and with great knowledge and her little personal stories of her family living up here made it even better. The train had been cancelled due to an accident so we were wondering whether to cancel, but were offered the tour of the rainforest station instead, so glad we did it. You fully realise how passionate the people up here are about their environment and the roll we play in it....it's not just about getting bums on seats! And to understand that we driving among a rainforest that has been around for more than 130 million years, the oldest on the planet, was humbling to say the least. Kurranda was great but the Skyrail down was the highlight, a real must do. Thank you so much to the team (and of course especially Andrea) for making our last day in Port Douglas amazing. We will certainly be back.
