About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Trudy B0 contributionsGreat tour and great guideThis tour was easy to book and we were fully informed of all information the day before. Our tour guide Chris and his sidekick Boson were there to pick us up right on time. Chris was very friendly and informative and we knew exactly what to expect and where to meet him at all times. We paid extra for the Gold Class on the train and it was well worth it. We were given food and refreshments the entire trip. I only wish our assigned seats had been on the right side of the train car going the direction of the train. Most of the scenic areas were on the right. That certainly is certainly no fault of the tour group.Written 20 March 2025
- A4048GEsteveng0 contributionsExcellent in every aspectEvery aspect of this day was well thought out and executed. Even when the scenic train got cancelled at the last minute, Chris came up with a new plan and by the time we got to the next stop, all the arrangements had been settled by the office staff. A great overview of the day, a bit of the area’s history and Chris always being where he said he would meet us and on time.Written 7 March 2025
- Laureen E0 contributionsA fun fantastic thing to do. Really should be a mustWe were looked after like royalty. Guide was very informative. Air conditioned ride. Everything was explained so well. Recommend this trip for sure.Written 2 March 2025
- Elizabeth M0 contributionsAmazing day on the train to KurandaLoved the train and the sky rail. The scenery was amazing. Our driver Chris was entertaining and informative with precise directions for our day. Loved his music.Written 24 February 2025
- nw_2710 contributionsFantastic dayFantastic tour with Brett. Started the day at Hartleys crocodile park. Got to see quite a few crocodiles and go on a short boat cruise. Unfortunately due to heavy rainfall, the scenic rail was closed but we were able to do the scenic cable car ride which has some incredible views. Spent a short time in Kuranda for lunch, a variety of food options and shops for souvenirs. Brett is a great guide for the day and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour.Written 11 February 2025
- familleler0y0 contributionsWarmly recommended !We took the budget tour as we already took the train years ago. Brett is a great guy and the trip was easy and fun. Unfortunately the weather was bad but it remained a good experience.Written 5 February 2025

- V4828KQthep0 contributionsSkyrail / Kuranda tourHad a great day on the tour. Skyrail, Kuranda village and train ride were great. Our guide Chris (and Boson) were excellent. To be honest my wife and I enjoyed the trip in the bus just as much as the actual activities. (Thank you Chris) The small group made it easy to interact with each other and really enhanced the experience. Overall a great trip and would recommend it to anyone. - R9288LVdesireel0 contributionsDissapointed! The trip itself in terms of the itinerary is well worth your time but a series of errors on our particular tour impacted our overall enjoyment and comfort. The driver initial error was leaving behind two customers but he was then led astray by his team who clearly did not have a plan B. As a result: 1. The driver was asked to turn back more than an hour into the trip 2. Once we had travelled back about 10 mins, he was asked to turn back again 3. He was sent to the sky rail by error, resulting in us missing the train and being sent back to the sky rail Despite these errors, we would have been more than happy to give this tour a higher rating had it not been for actions of the owner. He was arrogant and unapologetic in his comments to myself and my cousin when we asked questions about the new itinerary for the day. It was a hot day and we were concerned about how the delays would impact my baby but he displayed no empathy at all. He spoke to us as though we were beneath him, making comments such as, 1. So, what we all have babies? 2. Calm down 3. These things happen 4. You need to change your attitude, etc. We did not raise our voices once, yet he continued to insinuate through comparison with other customers that our behaviour was untoward, not recognising that our questions came from a place of concern for the baby. If it were not for the kindness of the driver who really tried to make our day better, we would be giving this less than 3 stars.Written 24 November 2024
- Excursion6107650 contributionsGreat day outA fun day out, very well organised by Brett. He was a very entertaining and informative guide. We did the cable car first then the scenic railway. Loved Koala World Stunning views from both the cable car and train.Written 22 November 2024

Brett was our tour guide for the day He was so knowledgeable about the area and he told all his stories and information with such enthusiasm that it made the whole experience so much more fun and interesting. He was very inclusive of everyone who boarded the bus introducing everyone as they boarded.
Unfortunately, when we arrived at the train a tree had fallen over the tracks but Brett was quick to rearrange our whole day and take us back to the Skyrail and do the tour in reverse which was brilliant.
To overall the tour from start to finish was well worth it and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We had such a good day. Neil picked us up from our hotel, he was knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the journey. We took the scenic railway up to Kuranda, had time for lunch and a wander round before taking the cable car back down.
Neil always made sure everyone knew where and when to meet at each stop. He was also aware that there were two cruise ships with all their passengers visiting Kuranda, so made sure we were always just ahead of them so we did not get caught in long queues behind them.

Really good fun. Even though the bus was full ( their first time in many months due to the cyclone and flooding) it never felt crowded. Chris ( and Bosun ) our tour guide was both informative and entertaining. Everything we did was worthwhile and very much value for money. It's fair to say that some parts of Kuranda have given way to the cheap Chinese manufactured souvenirs, however there are enough home grown stalls and shops offering great original products to make it worthwhile. Finishing off with a cocktail, wine or beer in Palm Cove was a great way to say goodbye.

Thank you for the great review! We're glad you had fun. Chris and Bosun are a dynamic duo, and we're delighted they made your trip informative and entertaining. We're thrilled you found everything worthwhile and good value for money.
Your observations about Kuranda are noted, and we're pleased you found some authentic local offerings. Ending the day in Palm Cove with a drink is always a perfect conclusion. We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again soon!

We got picked up from our accommodation by Chris who looked after us for the whole day. We had a great day and Chris was very knowledgeable about the areas we visited .
We choose to have an upgrade to gold class for the train ride and that was a lovely start to the day. We also choose to have a diamond upgrade on the sky rail. To be honest the only difference is a glass floor and I watched out of the windows so wouldn’t insist on the upgrade next time! We had a couple of hours in the village and we chose to spend most of our time at the koala zoo as I wanted to hold a koala- which is what I did and enjoyed every minute!
When we got off the sky rail Chris took us to Palm Cove for a cocktail. This was really nice too.
In all I would recommend this trip. It was a lovely day. Chris the driver was great and very informative. Thanks for a good day out! Jane & Paul

Chris was our guide for the day. From his heart welcome to information about the area and a few stories to orient us, he was all in. The scenic train was cancelled as we waited for the train to pull in. Chris went to plan b and then c, and by the time we got to the sky rail nearby, the office had rescheduled our tours for the day. No worries! We were in good hands.
Every pickup and drop off occurred without a problem. Directions clear.Appreciated the day before reminder so I didn’t have to go through all our paperwork to ensure we were meeting at the right time and place.

We took the Kuranda / Sky Rail tour with our guide Chris . The day was very organised and Chris was so friendly and engaging from the moment the bus door opened at our pick up point so I knew we were going to have a great day . Chris commentary and knowledge was amazing you could see that he loves what he does and has a love of the area and he shared all of this with us on the day. Spending the day with him was enlightening , I can highly recommend Brett’s Kuranda tours , a wonderful day , great guide , organised and of course the ‘Wow’ factor scenery was the hero of the day , we can only hope it remains protected for future generations and hope there are more Chris’s to come to share the stories of the ancient Daintree.

The previous day began with disappointment when our tour (with another company) was cancelled due to the inclement weather.
Our hotel recommended Brett’s tours and we booked. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the railway as planned due to the weather but despite this we got off to a great start. We were in a group of 10 and our driver / guide Brett made us feel at home as soon as he welcomed us into the mini coach.
We had a fantastic day enjoying learning so much about the culture and local history.
The sky rail was impressive and a must to do
All in all a great day and Brett was 100% a big part of that!

I had been on the Skyrail and Kuranda markets 20 years before and having done some conservation work thought it would be great to see it through more 'experienced' eyes. It turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip.
Dale, our wonderful and attentive driver, was full of funny stories and historical facts, and ensured we stopped for plenty of photo opportunities along our drive from Port Douglas.
Being geographically challenged, Dale made sure I made it to my gold class carriage for our rail trip. I had never taken the Kuranda Scenic rail before and absolutely loved every minute. The amazing historical facts of how it was built by hand in the early 1900s is astounding! The carriage was like stepping back in time, the views of waterfalls, mountain and forests were incredible and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Upon alighting from the carriage, Dale, our trusty driver, whisked us away for a cocktail in Palm Cove at sunset...Aaah!
I definitely recommend Brett's half day Kuranda Tours!

Brett was a fabulous, friendly tour leader. My daughter and I had a fabulous day with lots of laughs along the way! The tour group members were really friendly with lots of banter and everyone stayed to set time frames and were punctual at pick up points. Brett shared his wealth of knowledge and “theories” as well as some outstanding 4th gear crunches. We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Kuranda and leisurely stroll around the quaint township. A highlight was stopping for a drink at Palm Cove on the return journey. Highly recommend this trip which is suitable for all ages groups.

Hi, Can you get a Palm Cove pickup, and can you pick the Scenic Railway up and Skyrail back. Which option do i use for that. Cheers
Written 6 July 2019
I don't know where all the pickup locations are but you can definitely ride the train up and take the skyrail back. That's what we did and it was fun. We paid a bit extra for Gold Service on the train, and enjoyed the drinks and snacks that provided.
