After pickup at your hotel in Port Douglas, head to the Reef Marina where you are welcomed aboard the deluxe catamaran, one of the only boat operators permitted to visit the coral cays of the Low Isles. Start your afternoon adults-only cruise with tea, coffee and light lunch while your expert crew prepares to set sail for the Low Isles. As you glide along, enjoy the tropical breeze and scenery from the catamaran’s large outdoor decks or spacious interior cabin. When you arrive at the Low Isles, have several hours to do as much or as little as you like. From the beach, you can easily hop into the water and snorkel around the sheltered lagoon’s coral gardens. Beginning snorkelers and people who do not feel comfortable in the ocean can enjoy snorkeling here knowing that you are just steps away from shore. Learn more about the iridescent fish and colorful corals of the Great Barrier Reef during a guided snorkeling tour led by a marine biologist. You also get an excellent underwater viewing experience with expert commentary on the glass-bottom boat tour, a perfect option for those who prefer to stay dry. Throughout the day, the attentive crew ensures that you experience a safe and enjoyable excursion. Refuel with afternoon tea, or a glass of wine or beer and canapes served on board the catamaran before returning to Port Douglas. On the return journey, have your camera ready to snap photos of a tropical sunset over the Coral Sea. Your premium sailing experience ends when you are returned to your hotel after a magical afternoon sail to the Low Isles.

Beautiful boat, staffed by nice helpful people with nice food travelling to a lovely location and some drinks on the sunset tour back. What's not to like?
Slightly more expensive than other tours but a great day and there were plenty of people who also chose this tour on this day.
The coral at the Low isles was surprisingly good and I cannot speak highly enough of the girl who led us in the water when we were snorkelling. She both obsessively made sure everyone was safe but also highlighted things that were worth seeing in the water. Funnily enough on the isle somehow some of us went on a tour of the little isle with a girl from Calypso and she was terrific so I am sure they are good also.

We had a wonderful time on the Sailaway afternoon lower isles cruise and snorkel. From the waiting area (air conditioned on a 37 degree afternoon!) to the awesome snorkeling and open bar on the way back, we found it hard to fault. Our trip was made especially special by Jake, Caitlin and Moby who went out of their way to make everyone on board feel comfortable, even under some wicked weather conditions getting back aboard at the Lower Isles.
It was expertly handled by the crew and we felt very safe and comfortable.
We would highly recommend this half day tour as it doesn’t wipe out your whole day and no screaming children on board definitely made for a lively afternoon under power and then sailing. Thanks team.

Fantastic cruise with Laura and Joel. They made the cruise great with their friendly professionalism and knowledge, not to mention the skill in handling boats and ensuring the safety of all guests. We were so impressed …hang on to these two assets…would recommend Sailaway to others.

I wanted to write a review as had the cruise sail yesterday and was just PERFECT. Was the full day snorkelling and sailing. The staff and skipper were brilliant and so hard working and accomodating the entire day. The safety and efficiency of the day was very impressive, the fresh lunch and food provided was excellent quality and the total chilled vibe of the day was just what everyone wants.
If you see other low island options please choose this one! With a smaller group it was less hectic, relaxed and everyone chatted away and got to know each other by the end of the day.
The boat is also stunning and I felt like I was a millionaire with such a stunning sail boat to chill on. Cold beers served in the afternoon.
The snorkelling and reef was also very impressive and felt very safe and relaxed.
Can’t recommend this enough. Thank you Joel and your crew. You were wonderful!

Highlight of our trip. The boat was amazing, so special to be able to sit on the nets at the front whilst sailing to the low isles. Food on board was great. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Shout out to captain Jake who kept us all calm on a particularly rough day when the transfer from the glass bottom boat to the catamaran was a bit scary. The snorkelling was great, was a bit annoying that we had to stay in a group though as we would rather do so at our own pace. Cruised home with champagne in hand, we had an amazing time!

This is really something very pleasant. All the crew were fantastic and Captain Rick's blue sail is something you have to experience - they say red ones go faster but I beg to differ and if has to be the Blue ones that go faster! Overall this is something you should consider as part of your reef explorer. Safety was a priority and staff were welcoming, inclusive and very friendly. It was like having family look after you. Small numbers on board was an added bonus as all passengers got on very well. Larger groups could make this a bit squishy. Snorkeling was fantastic and even got to see a turtle. The reef was upsetting to see as it had been through a bleaching event which made it a little less colourful. This is not the providers fault but a consequence of climate change. Shout out to Lizzie who was most efficient in ensuring everyone was catered for and also the young fellow from Holland who assisted. The sail on the way back was made more fun by the competitive spirit in Captain Ricks blue sail. As we glided over the ocean into the sunset with drinks and canapes in hand it was a perfect end to a wonderful day. Seriously recommend Sailaway as an extraordinary provider of a truly worthwhile reef experience. Thank you.

Our afternoon cruise WAS AMAZING! Highly regarded whoever is reading this do it. Can’t remember our crew we had a guys and two girls haha doesn’t do much.

We had a little island walk around and then back on the boat and got to snorkel off the boat. Snorkel tour was about 45 mins which was enough cause at that time the tide was coming in and waves were starting to get a bit big. You can hold onto noodles and swim around. We were broken up into two groups. And followed the girl and pointed out a few different species.

After we jumped back onto the boat and started happy hour with flowing alcoholic beverages and nibbles watching and sailing into the sunset.

It was my birthday too so such a highlight!

Three Sailaway trips within three weeks.
Thinking that may say it all.
All three trips were 5/5. Couldn’t be happier!
On 24 September 2020, we sailed to Low Isles with Hannah the turtle whisperer & Maddi the reef shark
whisperer. These girls are just the best. So passionate about marine life and their job. The weather was perfect to snorkel, no wind and very clear waters. We picked the best day to go. You could see everything in the water. Hannah was our reef tour guide who showed us all the different types of reef coral , giant clams & sea animals. We saw two curious black tip reef sharks and a green sea turtle. It absolutely made our day.
The glass bottom boat picked us up from the island and we headed back to the boat for a delicious lunch served by the girls. My husband decided to go on the glass
bottom boat tour and I stayed back to sun myself on the catamaran. It was a wonderful day!
Thank you Sailaway for just a wonderful experience. We will be back again.

Awesome experience, staff were great, it was extremely organised, food was delicious and enjoyed the few wines on way back. It was a bit rough heading to and from island so I recommend sitting up front however you do get wet. Weather was beautiful so we didn’t mind getting splashed added to the fun.

So many turtles !!! Excellent visibility and fantastic snorkelling experience, many different corals, fish, clams and of course turtles. Great half day tour out to the beautiful Low Isles under sail, guided snorkelling tour, snorkelling gear provided and also pool noodles, glass bottom tender transfer from the Catamaran to the beach at Low Isles, delicious complimentary snacks and alcohol served on deck by the friendly staff from Sailaway on the return journey to Port Douglas while enjoying the magnificent sunset. We have done the sunset sail with Sailaway before but not the half day snorkelling at Low Isles as well, we loved it. We will be back again and maybe do the outer reef trip next time :)
