- 657teemum0 contributionsSight seeing a different places.Oli älyttömän mukava päivä. Käytiin Josephine fallssilla, Etty Bayllä ja Babinda Bouldersseilla. Suosittelen kaikille jotka täälläpäin liikkuu. Turvallista menoa jokapaikassa. Paikallinen opas ihan huippu luokkaa. Highly recommend this to everyone who likes to know more about the area and the livinig creatures. It was a pleasure tonhear all the stories and also sight see so many different places.Written 27 November 2024
- KJ G0 contributionsAmazing mix of nature, stories and something uniqueSimon the guide shared a wealth of knowledge. The locations we visited were beautiful and not overrun with other tourists. Paronella Park is a world of its own, amazing! Highly recommend a visit and so easy with this tour!Written 31 October 2024

- Navigate174199106640 contributionsHighly recommended. Great Itinerary, guide, stops and destination!Highly recommended. Great Itinerary, guide and destination! We were fortunate to be the only folks on the tour with Simon. He came to collect us from our accom in the morning and was great from the get-go. Simon as a guide makes this trip. He was knowledgeable and a great story-teller who brought the fantastical story of Jose Paronella to life. We are given insight into Jose's migrant experience, and his early run ins with the black hand, his entrepeneurial ways that saw him build a fortune and then the resolve and drive to build a Castillian (?) inspired castle in the forest, conflict with the local population of Mena creek and so much more. This added so much colour to the castle in the forest which is amazing especially by evening. In fact, the evening show at Paronella park was the most magical part of the park experience and is not to be missed. The little detour to Babinda boulder for a swim was a natural delight despite the marsh flies. Etty's bay was a super chill stop for tea. Unfortunately we missed out on spotting the cassowary by 20 minutes. There was so much more we learnt and enjoyed hearing about that I have not mentioned here. Needless to say; this was an enjoyable tour, Simon is superb and I would recommend the tour to any curious cats.Written 7 October 2024

- Sarah L0 contributionsBook this, you won’t regret itSimon was great! We cannot recommend him enough. Knowledgeable, funny, and full of useful info. Our first pit stop of the day had us saying hello (from a safe distance) to a local croc, Clyde. We then learned about the cane sugar farming in the region on our way to Babinda Boulders. Simon took us on a rainforest walk there and taught us so much about the plants we encountered along the way. Next was Etty Bay where we enjoyed afternoon tea (shout out to Renee for baking some great banana bread for us to enjoy!) and were lucky enough to see a cassowary on the beach. Last, but certainly not least we went to Paronella Park, which is like nothing else I’ve ever seen. Truly an amazing experience.Written 23 September 2024
- C6947SJkarenn0 contributionsInformative & funThe story behind Paranella Park is quite extraordinary. Simons knowledge on Babinda Boulders, Etty Bay & Paranella Park was excellent. Dinner at the pub was great with good conversation & laughs. Would highly recommend.Written 2 September 2024

- O7593BDgailf0 contributionsParonella ParkI highly recommend this tour; you get to see Paronella Park in the daytime and when the lights come on it becomes in a way magical. This tour included so many other things of interest, alas we didn't see a Cassowary, that's wildlife for you but we did see a crocodile. Simon owner and tour guide of this small tour company is a wealth of interesting knowledge and really goes the extra mile to make sure you have a good day. In my opinion it was one of the best day tours I've done.Written 31 August 2024
- 512erinan0 contributionsA magical dayWe really enjoyed the whole day which was well paced and full of interesting information. Simon knows the area well and has a personal connection to the amazing Paronella Park. The small group felt like we had been on an unforgettable together.Written 28 August 2024
- prudencew20230 contributionsAn exceptional tour that evokes the spirit of people, place and time. This is an exceptional tour. The spirit of the country we travelled through, of the special places we stopped at, and of Paronella Park itself is palpable. This is due to Simon’s passion and personal connection with the story that he, and the guides at the park, present so well. Congratulations and thanks, Bernard & Prue - AdelaideWritten 27 August 2024

From booking to the end of the trip... super super super. Everything was well organized, friendly, informative, something very special... Simon and Renae are a great team and the end result (tour) is fantastic. Including homemade cake and tea/coffee/cocoa in the afternoon at the lovingly laid table. And the information is always relevant. When you get out of the car, Simon has his umbrella ready if you need it. He magically brought the sun to my face in the rainforest when it was raining. Simon, you are an excellent guide. Thank you both. 100% recommendation. I am a guide myself and can differentiate very well... and I am a critical tourist myself. You two are doing a wonderful job. I have already booked the next tour and am really looking forward to it. Best wishes

This tour was amazing, showcasing the diversity of the Tablelands. It included sampling food and drinks from a local boutique distillery, a dairy and a coffee and papaya producer. All were delicious. We interacted with local wildlife in their natural environment and experienced how diverse the environment is. This included visiting gorgeous waterfalls, lakes, giant strangler figs and driving through the Savannah and rainforest. Our guide Simon knew so much about the area and was fun to travel with on this personalised small group tour. It really was a taste of all the aspects of the Tablelands and I highly recommend it.

Explore and immerse yourself into an unforgettable experience with Simon. He will guide you deep into country, offering from his heart as a local, insights into ecological awareness to our rainforests, wildlife, and some incredible dreamtime stories visiting places of spiritual significance. Simon is an excellent steward of FNQ experiences, which will awaken your senses to a world unseen in the Taste of Tablelands tour. When I return for my next holiday, I'll definitely be booking into the other tours with him. Thank you, Simon & Renae, Mum & I had a sensational day out with you and our small group. Cheers, Marie & Bernadette

Our tour guide, Simon, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and efficient. We covered about 350 km and stopped at 10 places at least in this one day trip. We saw numerous communities, waterfalls, lakes, fascinating animals, plants, and outcrops of rock, and tasted native coffees, hard liquors, cheeses, and had lunch: it was a thorough review of the tablelands.

We were picked up at our accommodation by Simon and after picking up a few others we were off on one of the most enjoyable and informative days we have experienced. Our guide/driver took us to so many areas in this expansive area from tropical rainforests to Savannah areas within the vast tableland area. Geological, agricultural and historical locations were visited and the produce of the area sampled many times. It is a long day but time flew and we feel much more knowledgeable about so many topics. Unique animals could be fed in the wild, special wine/spirits tasted and foods eaten. Ample opportunity to take photos of such exciting spots. Simon and his wife, Renae have a small but very specialised business that offers a wonderful experience.

The trip was wonderful. Simon was a great guide and we saw parts of the Atherton Tablelands we had never been to before. The morning and afternoon teas were great. The lunch at Gallo's was very nice and the tastings of the cheeses and chocolates are a bonus. The absolute outstanding experience of the day was feeding the little rock wallabies at the Granite Gorge Nature Park.

Simon is an excellent tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable in so many realms. He knows the history, geology, points of interest, flora and fauna, of
everywhere he takes you. He is also respectful and knowledgeable of the indigenous community that inhabited the lands he tours. Simon and Renee have laid out a wonderful itinerary that literally has something for everyone. And more likely you will enjoy it all! I know we did!

The scenery was amazing, we went to so many beautiful places we wouldn’t have even known about without Simon!
He and his partner went out of their way to accommodate us after only booking the afternoon before.
The food was delicious, as were the drinks, and we were never driving for too long or moving along too quickly.
We all agreed it was one of the most memorable days of our trip so far, up against the reef and a wedding!
