About
QuickCoast travels to one of the most pristine reefs on The Great Barrier Reef. We snorkel two parts (east & west) in separate snorkel sessions. See vibrant corals and clams with a possibilities of a vast variety of marine life including turtles, stingrays, reef sharks, and a vast variety of fishes including clown fish. After two sessions we visit Dunk Island on our return from the reef for an hour and taken ashore by our skipper for a quick history of the island and shown different types of beach walks available. QuickCoast is a large two deck catamaran that restricts passenger numbers to the reef at 30 passengers - so plenty of space for everyone.

Amazing crew + guided tour of the reef + freedom to explore with a paired buddy.
Guide wore lifeguard shirt so was easy to flag him down for help when needed
Guide helped out those who were poor swimmers with life vest + floating device and pulled them along the whole time so kind!
Was a small group so was excellent
Lunch + nibbles fruit and snacks hit the spot :)
Cannot fault the experience other than the sea sickness
THANKYOU 10/10

A twenty minute boat ride with Bri and his crew takes you back in time to the island named Dunk on Cook's 1770 sail through the family islands. Lush rainforestt greets you just waiting to be explored. The crew make sure you want for little, deck chairs and umbrellas( small charge) allow you to sit on the beach in comfort. Lunch was a bonus.

This was an amazing day from start to finish. Brian picked us up and a few others up in Cairns and made the trip down to Mission Beach informative and entertaining, especially when his horn malfunctioned and kept blaring as he tried to speak! One of those days Brian! The boat trip was fabulous. We had two snorkeling sessions before and after lunch on the outer Reef. Wow, what an experience, the corals, the fish, the sharks and a turtle! Brian and his team are absolutely brilliant. Book this tour!

You can join at Mission beach or catch the included bus from Cairns. It includes snorkelling on two sections of Beavers Reef, lunch , snacks and a stop off at Dunk Island to briefly explore the island and take some pictures. It’s a fabulous day out with the highlight being the time in the water looking at the beautiful coral and fish that the Great Barrier Reef is famous for. It caters for small groups which is a plus after seeing how many guests disembark of some reef boats at one time. I highly recommend it.

Beaver reef is absolutely stunning. The corals are healthy and there is plenty of marine life. We saw a reef shark and turtle as well as heaps of fishes. Leo did a great job leading the snorkelling tour accommodating different levels amongst the group. The scenery on dunk island is beautiful.

I would suggest checking the weather first as Bry (the captain) will not keep you updated. He took us out on a day with extremely bad weather where approx 17/20 of the passengers were puking. There was supposed to be two snorkel trips but we only got took on one and Bry refused to give a partial refund for that. He could not have cared less how sick everybody was.

Lovely staff to get you over to Dunk.
We hiked up to Mt Kootaloo and then back via coconut beach on the circuit trail. It’s a long walk approx 11km. Great way to get to know the island.
Lunch back on board was healthy and delicious.
The afternoon spent at the cafe on the spit taking in the serenity of island life.

Great way to get to this beautiful island. Boat was fast and comfortable, staff very friendly with good safety instructions and advice for what to do on the island. We didn't take the lunch option, but enjoyed a cold drink up on the top deck on the way back. Our friends walked up Mt Kootaloo while we snorkelled, swam, enjoyed our picnic and long walks along the beaches with the Family Islands in the distance. Great way to spend a sunny day :) left at 9am and was back by 3.30pm.

The snorkelling was spectacular- so many beautiful wonders to see. Our guide was right there the whole time making sure we didn’t miss seeing the reef sharks, or the puffer fish or the abundance of amazing coral. Food was fresh and delicious. The crew were engaging and informative. We highly recommend this reef adventure.

The entire experience was incredible end to end. We booked last minute, but so glad we did as the captain and staff were nothing short of friendly, entertaining, and informative. The entire experience felt so personal and intimate - which I cannot recommend highly enough!
The reef at Beaver Reef was beautiful to snorkel and we saw plenty of animals (sharks, turtles, colorful fish and Nemo, coral, etc.). I’ve been to several reefs, and this was the best one yet in terms of beauty, visibility, and wildlife. The food on the boat was also delicious (huge fan of the local mangoes!). We ended the trip then by spending about 90 minutes on Dunk Island, which was nice and relaxing to spend time on for walking and on the beach.
If you are planning a trip to Cairns or already here, this was the highlight of our trip and I cannot stress to book!
