      Great for a beginner
If you are new to diving and have never experienced being underwater this is a great experience and worth it. How ever as i dive it was not that good for me but not due to them or the service just not good if you dive. My friend who has never been underwater like that loved it and it was a great experience for them. The staff are great and really make it a fun experience. Well worth it if you are not keen on diving straight up.

      First underwater experience
This was in my bucket list for the trip to far north Queensland. We went over as a group of 6 for the half day at Green Island. Only I was keen on doing the helmet dive so was a bit apprehensive on the boat ride over but your only here once so make the most of it. I booked the early dive so had time for a quick snorkel first. My partner came along for a look and we were pleased she could come out on the dive platform and take photos. Funny thing was one of the dive safety staff was from my home town in new zealand and a surfer to. Great to be the only person doing the helmet dive meant it was one on one with me and the dive staff. I got a full 30 minutes underwater. I really enjoyed the experience as I'm not into the underwater thing I prefer being on top riding the waves. Managed to see some great fish and the giant clam and some better reef than just snorkeling. The whole experience from booking on the boat , the friendly staff and the actual dive was great. All in all a 10 out of 10 from me. Maybe I got lucky with it being only me out there but that's how it goes sometimes you make your own luck. Tick that off the bucket list.

      Disappointed
I had done a seawalker dive in Bali a few years back and the experience was nothing like what I remember from that time. The staff at the dive shop was quite insistent on this as opposed to the scuba, but in all fairness I was ok with that. It is priced slightly higher than the scuba, which I found surprising but can be understandable. The gear seemed safe and the helmet was not as uncomfortable, although quite heavy outside water. The disappointing part however was the under water experience. There were 8 people in the group that I did the dive with and almost entirely through the duration, we were holding a metal frame and were pretty close to each other. This was a lot different when I last did the dive and there we were all quite apart with some room to look around. The visibility given the close proximity was quite low and the fact that the staff kept putting fish food around our helmets meant that we could not see anything apart from the same fish over and over again. After a bit it became quite annoying and the forced nature of the exercise seemed unnecessary. I did not see any coral and the same fish over and over. In hindsight I probably should have skipped this and done the scuba.

Outstanding! I was the only person who booked Seawalkers that day and they never hesitated to give me the tour. Five people including 2 divers and the underwater photographer suited up and made my adventure happen. I had a great time and loved the chance to experience the reef and being underwater. This was perfect for someone who does not snorkel or scuba. Everyone at Great Adventures made me feel welcome & appreciated and cared that I had a great experience. I highly recommend Seawalkers Experience.

Green Island is the perfect introduction to staying on an island in the Great Barrier Reef. As a day visitor there is access to all areas except the hotel and hotel guest only sections.
The Seawalker Experience is a must if you have never been scuba diving or are concerned about doing so as you do reach the sea floor which only good snorkellers can do.
The crew at the Seawalker are very considerate and experienced and take great care of each person on the walk. The photos they take are a great (albeit expensive) souvenir of your walk.
Primarily the walk is a fish experience as the best part of the small reef you visit during the walk are a giant clam - you only see the edge not inside - and some soft corals.
I must say however that the staff at the dive shop treated us above and beyond. My husband lost his wedding ring and they were so kind and considerate.

We happened to get the last four available tickets for the Seawalker Helmet dive (we went to Green island ourselves). I am not a good swimmer and I was apprehensive. All the staff were very kind and considerate. After seeing my husband and kids lower themselves into the water, I too stepped down (after the staff member at that point also spoke calmly and encouragingly, reminding me that once I get to the ocean floor, I'd forget my fears). As some others mentioned, it was more about seeing the fish than the reef. But the experience of going under water, moving there and getting a feel for it - was amazing! I did not realize a video too was going to be taken and was surprised. For this dive, I was happy paying the fee requested, as so many on the team had to work to get us back safely. Definitely recommend if you are eligible to go!

The Green Island was lovely but I wish I had travelled with someone else as the quick silver group was one of the worst companies I've ever used.

We were misinformed of multiple things including the time of the Seawalk and they also don't post anywhere on their site that If you have any small medical condition even asthma they won't allow you to participate.

We had to go through multiple staff members and at one stage a lady from another company, to get a refund and then it was still only partial due to the incompetence of this company.

Save your money and pick a company who wants you to experience things and aren't just money hungry.

There was absolutely no indication at the time of booking that there would be a problem if I had Asthma. I looked so forward to this and at the eleventh hour was told that I could not participate. I did get a partial refund for the service but was bitterly disappointed that I could not do the dive

This was an amazing way to see the special fish and corals of the reef. Felt almost like a 'moon walk', but with much more colourful surroundings. The diving helmet takes a little getting used to, but the staff were incredibly helpful. They explained every step of the sea walk. I felt safe and enjoyed every moment. A once in a lifetime experience!

Out of 1hr duration of experience promised they only give you hardly less than 5 min at sea level, and that too so they make you pose for pics and videos. This is so they trap you into exorbitantly priced pictures and videos you are bullied to buy ( they don’t let you take your personal GoPro….in the name of “safety”). You don’t even get few moments to enjoy yourself and are not allowed to soak in nature under/in sea. I did snorkel on the same shores after this stupid choice, and I must say it was multi million time rewarding…. Donate your money then waste your time on this crap. Great idea but pathetic execution, they want to rip you when they should focus on execution and giving you fulfilling experience….the manager on site is a retired minded person and should be replaced to bring life into it!

We take great care in balancing safety, logistics, and providing a fulfilling experience. We’re glad you enjoyed snorkeling on the shore at Green Island.

I booked this because I have very bad eyesight and am depending on glasses, so scuba-diving was out of the question and snorkeling may have been dissatisfying. Granted, with this you did have a good view and you do get to see some creatures, but that's like 5 minutes of the very limited time you get. The other 15 minutes you are caught in a modelling job, posing for phoney fotos and videos which they later have the cheek to try to sell you for $100(!). I spontaneously decided to rather keep my money and invest that sum into beer somewhen later. Besides, I had the impression all we actually did see was a commercially organized underwater zoo. Not worth the money in my opinion. The whole of Green Island seems to be a tourist trap: Get imprisoned on its 500 m², take a seawalk and a 30 minute glassbottom boat tour, walk the whole accessible area of the island in 30 minutes, find yourself bored... So either spend more bucks for additional activities, risk marine stingers bathing in the sun or get bitten to death by mosquitos in the shade... Use a 5 m² swimming pool instead? Get drunk at the cheesy bar? Or write an honest TripAdvisor review to pass the time till return... My sentiments: "Great Adventures" are something else entirely...

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. Regarding the Seawalker experience, we strive to balance showcasing marine life with ensuring guests have lasting memories, which is why we offer photo packages. However, purchasing these is entirely optional. As for Green Island, its charm lies in its natural beauty and variety of activities. The island is indeed a protected National Park, and we work hard to ensure that activities like snorkeling, Seawalker, and the glass-bottom boat highlight the incredible marine ecosystem in a respectful and sustainable way. We value your feedback and hope you might consider visiting again to explore other aspects of the island and reef.

By the time everyone gets down to the bottom, your 20 mins is nearly up. It's not long enough. We walked a few metres, saw a nemo but unfortunately we didn't see much corals or turtles except the (residents) fishes that converge for the expected foods the guide pushes out from a tube. They took pics and video which you can purchase (of course) AUD30 for a printed one and video was AUD80 per pax. They gave us only 1 USB to share amongst ourselves even though each paid for it. They said this is because we already got a 20% discount per person. They didn't tell us in advance. I personally felt conned and I gave this a lower than average rating due to this.

If you absolutely want/have to try it, Bali may be cheaper approx AUD85 from what I have seen.
