      We didnt go
We didnt GO !! 😡🤬😡 due to weather conditions and roads being destroyed by “Jasper”, we weren’t able to make it to Cairns! And this Company didn’t give any refunds even though this was a natural disaster and had nothing to do with us personally. We would have loved to go, thats why we booked it. Never EVER juse this company 😢 be careful with the conditions if you book. And they still send e-mails asking for reviews 😩😖😢

      Great snorkelling, plenty of food.
My partner and I went on this reef cruise with my parents. We had great snorkelling at both stops on the Upolu Reef, with plenty of time to explore. The crew were very friendly and helpful. The catamaran was just the right size for the small group. Lunch was filling, although I recommend taking serviettes as they were not provided with lunch. You can get wet when the ocean is rough, so recommend wearing something that dries quickly.

Rough but wonderful day at sea
I loved this trip and the crew and snorkel gear were top notch. I saw all the fish and sea life (except jellyfish, which is a good thing). That being said, this trip is not for the faint of heart. I would not recommend for children or those with any mobility issues. Strong swimmers only. Take your seasickness medication beforehand. They offer on the spot dive certification if interested. $70. They have 1 go pro to rent if interested. $55. The ocean is very rough. The first stop requires a two hour ride from the marina. You are allowed 1.5 hours to snorkel. You are required to wear a full body stinger suit which is provided. It is hard to get on... Think damp super thick swimsuit that covers you head to toe to hands. I have shoulder issues so it was a bit of a struggle taking it off and on to use the boat toilet. Then you break for a hearty lunch. Vegetarian offerings provided. Gluten free also if you request in advance. My husband liked the BBQ chicken legs. The boat sails another hour north during this time to the second stop. You are given about 45 minutes to snorkel in this area. Then all aboard for the 3 hour ride back. They put the ship in high gear so it is very bouncy. No relaxing on the nets at this point. They serve a round of snacks and a celebratory wine toast on the way back. All told, we were out from 7:30-17:30.

      Perfect
Fantastic! Nice boat with small group. Staff is really helpful and nice. They take you to the good spots in the Reef. Have some extra floaties to make it easy to catch your breath once in a while. Perfect! Have done another tour with 90 people, but this one was way better. Make sure! You take a travel sickness pill before you go on board.

      The best day!
Beautiful and kind crew with lots of knowledge! The snorkel guides were really welcoming and made us all feel safe and provided us with an awesome experience of the reef! The guides were great at spotting marine life and allowed everyone to see something cool! The food was amazing too and made by the talented captain! Thanks team you were incredible!!! You all deserve a raise! One thing I would like to see in the future from the business however is that only reef safe sunscreen would be used by guests and crew :) just those small gestures that makes a difference and helps educate the public slightly.

      Best reef tour around!
Amazing day on the reef. The crew were fab, super knowledgeable and nothing too much trouble! (Micheala, julian, gabriel). The sights of the reef we saw were amazing, and i even got to undertake my first proper scuba diving experience. Food and refreshments were also amazing. Small group tour sizes too which is perfect for enjoying the reef properly. 10/10 would reccomend.

Great day on the reef with the friendly and knowledgeable team from Reef Daytripper. Our first time snorkelling and it didn’t disappoint. Loved that it was a small group as we had the chance to chat to the crew and the other travellers. Would 1000% recommend! Thank you Michaela, Sharee, Gabriel and Julian for a brilliant day.

Nice team, small group, beautiful locations.
Good crew and small group, the boat is slower compared to bigger operators but again you get a more personalized experience, I would recommend it.

Best trip for scuba and snorkelling
A brilliant day out on the reef. Really liked the smaller numbers on the boat and the crew were very experienced. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a more personalised experience.

      A great day out
Paul and his crew were most welcoming to our big group for our big day out on the reef. Although the weather wasn’t what we had hoped for, the snorkelling was still very good, the crew looked after those that were a bit uncertain in the water and those that struggled with the boat ride out very well. Overall would highly recommend if you don’t like huge boats with many people fighting you in the water for a spot.

These 3 deserve the biggest raise!!

our group of 3 came out for my 30th and these guys did not disappoint!

Miké the captain was super nice and was able to share so much knowledge of the reef
Andy - was super funny and made the trip full of laughs
Kevin - this guy MVP took us out snorkelling showed us some amazing animals and was an all-round fun time
watching the crew interact laughing and dancing made our trip so much more enjoyable.

I personally am terrified of the open ocean. Kevin was able to make me feel so comfortable that I not only swam in the ocean, I didn't need a life jacket or floating device AND!!!! even got up close and personal with a white tip reef shark never in a million years did I think I would have the confidence to do this

    Even met Billy the batfish!

Was a trip of a lifetime and I'm so glad that I did this tour, 10/10 did not disappoint.

As a "senior couple" (65+) we thoroughly enjoyed this intimate, small group experience. The staff were so helpful and courteous to us, as were the other guests. We enjoyed a fabulous day out on the Daytripper and would highly recommend it to all. We were based in Palm Cove and found the shuttle organised for us by the hosts to be very comfortable and efficient. We took travel calm tablets on our day as a precaution, but found that they were not necessary due to the calm weather. Due to Covid 19 the advertised buffet was replaced by a boxed lunch and afternoon tea which was fresh, delicious and more than satisfactory. A lovely day.

The reef day tripper is a very well priced and extremely professional crew. The day was amazing from the first step on the gorgeous boat till the step off.. happy with how nice and friendly the knowledgeable staff were. They were very experienced and had a great love for the reef. Food and snacks supplied and was great after a big day snorkeling. Complimentary wine and quality gear with the option to dive. Best spots on the reef and great help when asking what fish is what and so on. Great trip

The most amazing snorkeling and scuba diving experience I've had so far! We were a bunch of 9 family and friends and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire boat trip to and from the reef. The staff were sensational! Funny and lovely people. They went above and beyond all day to ensure our experience was amazing. Especially with the 7 year old who was afraid to get into the sea. Paul made him feel so comfortable that he gained confidence to get into the sea and was even ready to do it a second time! It was also my first scuba diving experience and Kevin made sure to make it an unforgettable one.
The reef itself was spectacular; we saw lots of fish and even a reef shark and turtle! Reef Daytripper was truly the best and we are so thankful we booked with them. There were only 15 passengers and being in a small group allowed a more personal experience.

A big thank you once again to skipper Paul, and diving professionals Kevin and Camille - your hospitality and knowledgeable service was outstanding! You guys rock! We will definitely be back !

We started our trip somewhat damp and worried because it was already heavily overcast and raining, which meant we couldn't really enjoy the nets out the front of the boat. The crew did a great job of trying to pep us up and make us comfortable in spite of the conditions, and gave us very helpful and informative briefings on our way out to the reef. On arrival I was very grateful to have the option to swim with a pool noodle and stay with a guide/hang onto the life ring until I could control my panic and breathing to allow me to venture off on my own with some confidence (first time snorkeler and not a great swimmer!). The explanations of what we were seeing and the small group meant we learnt a lot and didn't have to jostle with other tourists for space in the water. We were lucky to have very clear conditions in the water and many amazing creatures to see! At the second site the sun decided to come out which added to the wonder, and helped us stay warm enough. Thank you to the crew for a wonderful introduction to the Great Barrier Reef! Also thank you for providing vegan friendly lunch and afternoon tea on request. 😊😊😊

From the moment we got on board the Reef day tripper to when we got off we had a great time. The safety briefing was extremely well explained to everyone on board . All the snorkelling equipment was all in great condition along with the diving gear. We went to 2 different spots on the reef were there where no potoon crowds which was so good. When we were snorkelling there were 2 people from the boat that came with us all with a life ring for those that couldn't swim very well or were a little frightened. There were a cpl of people a little frightened when we were out and they were taken straight back to the boat by one of the instructors.
All the staff on the boat couldn't have been any better and helpful with ever part of our day .The food wasn't bad at all either. The smaller number of people ( 16 ) of us made it a excellent day out and we all had a great day. We would highly recommend Reef Day Tripper
    Thanks to all the staff

We enjoyed this full day tour out to the Reef.
Boarding was at 7.30am directly at the Boat.
The weather was hot and sunny, the water was calm except when a speed boat passt by...I would recommend to take a tablet if you easily get motion sick.

We arrived 2 hrs later at Upolo Reef for snorkelling.
Lunchtime they served pre packed lunch boxes. Bread roll, sandwiches ,fruit salad and a muffin. Lots to eat.
30 min before arriving back in Cairns we received another pre packed box with cakes, cheese, crackers and dry Fruit.
Also you get a free Drink.
The maximum passengers they take is 20...

The only issue what we had was you can't wear shoes on the Boat.
Also I would recommend to bring your own Cup for morning Tea/ Coffee which they provide. I Don't trust the Hygiene how they wash the Cups after use.

If you don't like crowds, this is the way to go, but you won't have much room or privacy to change.
Its like a private catamaran which you share with other people.
you also can charter the whole Boat for a group.

We did the snorkeling and introductory diving. Speaking as a fairly incompetent swimmer here, the crew were very supportive and made sure you were always safe.
I was glad they encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone. What we could see of the reef was beautiful but also a sad reminder of our collective impact on the environment.
Highly recommend trying the diving, even if you feel like a fish out of water.
Thanks again to the crew for an awesome time.

The best way to experience the reef, small group, friendly crew, comfortable boat, excellent value. We took a tour on one of the large 'cattle' boats to the reef about ten years ago squashed in with a ton of people all snorkeling on top of one other. Our trip with Reef Daytripper could not have been more of a contrast, it was so relaxed and personal. Plenty of time and space to snorkel at your leisure. The crew were aware of each persons swimming competency and quick to provide assistance in the water if needed but happy let stronger swimmers explore further while Paul, the skipper monitored everyone from the boat. We saw plenty of marine life and coral, a highlight was the very chilled Green sea turtle! Lunch was tasty, warm soup after emerging from the water was much appreciated .We highly recommend Reef Daytripper. Huge thanks to Paul and crew, Rosie and Julien.

From the moment we arrived at the wharf we felt welcome on this cruise. The crew were entertaining but also obviously very safety conscious. The meals were Pre- packed for safety but were tasty and filling. You can scuba dive if you wish and if youre a beginner you will be taught what to do. The gear was fine although I would recommend they take the time to patch a couple of the wetsuits that have small holes. The first stop was escorted snorkelling whilst the second was on your own. The second stop in the reef was teeming with fish and we really enjoyed being able to wander over the reef at our own pace. The crew were happy to answer any questions and between them spoke a number of languages. The water is quite cool in water so suggest you take warm clothes to change into for the trip home. This is the third time I have done a day trip but the first with this company. I would definitely recommend the smaller size and more personalised service of this company.
