About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- K6229CEnoemim0 contributionsLong day of drivingThe tour delivered everything it promised. Steve is a friendly, knowledgeable guide who kept us informed the whole day. The tour included many stops with bits of information for each one. In retrospect this was not the tour for us as we spent many hours in the van with less activity than we would prefer.Written 22 March 2025
- milliew1280 contributionsBrilliant day outWe had an absolutely brilliant day in the rainforest yesterday. The day was made by our fabulous tour guide, Steve, who was so passionate, knowledgeable, and just a really fun guy. He was amazing at explaining where we were, which made the drive much more interesting, and he was very humorous. We visited some wonderful places and really beautiful locations, and saw some great wildlife including crocodiles!! Steve also had a great playlist for the drive home! We would 100% recommend this company. Thanks so much for our wonderful day Steve 😊😊Written 13 March 2025
- 1710Laurap0 contributionsAmazing experienceAmazing experience with Laurence! Very educational and fun! Loved the sights and we learnt so much about the heritage and culture! Would 100% recommend!Written 6 March 2025
- Robert R0 contributionsCool natureBeautiful scenery, nature, unique bugs and animals. Interesting food places especially serving kangaroos. Surprise good and very healthyWritten 20 February 2025
- 64tedp0 contributionsThere is no better way to explore this mesmerising region then with Discovery Tours Australia!Superb tour through the fabulous Daintree, covered so much ground in only a single day without missing a thing. Our guide, Steve, was brilliant, enthusiastic, good humoured and incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. Not a tour to miss!Written 12 February 2025
- dongS5679KD0 contributionsFabulous trip to the rainforest!Had a very long and memorable day with James who is a super friendly, funny and knowledgeable guide. We had a multi age, international group on the trip and he attended to the interests of young and old. Felt he knew the route thoroughly and threw in a few bonus stops for great views. We learned a lot from our lunch host and our river guide. We lucked out and even saw a baby croc, a cassowary with a baby and some lovely birds. Thanks to all for a very special day.Written 5 February 2025
- liz m0 contributionsExcellentFabulous trip made even better by our excellent guide Laurence’ bit disappointed to only have one dubious sighting of a croc but overall a great dayWritten 12 January 2025
- Michelle J0 contributionsDo not miss this tour !Well organised, very good communication, on time pick up and stick to time lines on the day. James is a very knowledgeable tour guide and pleasant. Highly recommend this tour.Written 13 December 2024
- Hafeelzz0 contributionsAmazing, comfortable and beautiful!Had a great time on the tour! The Mossman gorge was beautiful and the trip through the Daintrees was amazing! Daryl was our tour guide and had a wealth of knowledge on the tour. Daryl took the time to take us through the rainforest on a guided tour and stopped to point out all the native fauna and flora on the trip. I would definitely be coming back to explore more of the area and we’d be looking to see if Daryl is still around!Written 7 December 2024
- maudc7800 contributionsAmazing day with excellent tourguide! We had an amazing day with our tourguide Darryl! He was able to tell us lots of information about the area, culture and history. On the way back, he even drove us through Palm Cove and Port Douglas and gave us several recommandations about do's and dont's. We definitely recommend this tour!Written 25 November 2024
- Anil L0 contributionsExcellent Fun Learning ExperienceExcellent tour, covering great places & good care for the customer with a delicious lunch & tea break included. Our superb guide Jim was a font of great knowledge relating to the tour who created a fabulous atmosphere to make this an amazing learning experience in a very fun way. Discovery tours you live up to your name!! Thank you!Written 15 November 2024
- Charles Z0 contributionsA very long bus rideSpend over 90% of the time on the bus. And when we did get out it was rushed. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but we did not pay for just the bus ride. Would have preferred a much much longer time walking through the rainforest instead of zipping past it in a bus..Written 9 November 2024
- 736GailM0 contributionsA must do excursion for Cairns.Definitely something to add to your visit to Cairns (though it was a long day). We were picked up promptly at our hotel by our guide, Darrell who entertained us throughout the trip with knowledgeable information and anecdotes on the area and sites we visited. I’m glad we went with the small group option as our guide was able to spend more time with us individually plus we got to meet our fellow travellers in a more intimate setting. The lunch at the Daintree Tree House was absolutely incredible and on par with many five star gourmet restaurants. I had a beautifully grilled kangaroo steak and my husband had a very tasty barramundi - both dishes were accompanied by a rainbow of local fruits which our host, Richard, went through in detail. The swim in Mossman Gorge was refreshing and the cruise on the Daintree River was fun as Jed helped us in tracking down several crocodiles - including Scarface! The one blip was Cape Tribulation as we were only able to check out the beach as the trail was closed. One tip - buyTWO ice creams at the Daintree Ice Cream shop. They’re delectable and you’ll want seconds!Written 7 November 2024
- 852tommasoz0 contributionsGood day around DaintreeReally nice tour of the national park and different beaches. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and provided a lot of commentary during both ways which made the tour quite rich in terms of content (even though some breaks to rest sometimes would have been needed).Written 5 November 2024
- Niffie1230 contributionsAdventures in AustraliaIt was an informative tour. Adrian H was great. It’s a long day, a lot of time is spent on the bus. Wish we were able to walk around the rainforest more. It’s a good trip if you need a break from the sun. Glad we did it but no need to repeat.Written 25 October 2024

We did this tour with small kids and although it seemed geared more towards older adults, it worked out nicely as a more relaxed tour day fof us.
The waterfalls and short walks are beautiful and enjoyable. A lot of driving is involved (some windy roads) but the sights are worth it and the path was mostly a large loop so much to see and appreciate. Great way to see a lot in one day, well managed and coordinated. The waterfalls, curtain fig tree, and rainforest walks were all excellent. The lake stop was misty and rainy so the views weren't there for us but we will greatly enjoyed the scones and coffee and other things to see.
However the highlight for us was the stop James made to see a wild platypus viewing area - we saw one swimming around and it was amazing! 🤩

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. It's always lovely to hear how much you enjoyed our full day Waterfalls, Rainforest and Paronella Park day tour. I'm glad that James made you feel so welcome and was able to help you to experience this area with plenty of time at each of our attractions. Being a small group tour, we do try to take the time to allow flexibility in your day and if that means taking time out to show our clients something we think they will enjoy, then we can. A brilliant trip. Picked up and dropped off at hotels in Cairns, it was a full day trip up to the Atherton tablelands. The highlights were the Curtain Fig tree, Millaa Millaa falls, and Paronella park. With additional good stops and viewings along the way.
Millaa Millaa falls was magical, and swimming in below them was breathtaking. Paronella park was a delight; from the waterfalls to the gardens. The other stops were all good.
The food was delicious, and I bought some of the local jam used on the morning tea scones.
To round it off, Warrick our driver was superb. Apart from the driving he provided information throughout the day on the culture, history, industry and agriculture of the areas we were passing through. He answered all our questions on what we were seeing/hearing, and provided info on activities and dining in Cairns when asked.
A unforgettable experience.

After everyone was collected we headed out of Cairns making a brief stop at a lookout and then morning tea at Lake Barrine. Very good scones , coffee and a beautiful view.
When then called in at a huge Curtain fig tree. Wow! It was spectacular.
Next was Milla Milla Falls. Despite the water being cold a few people braved the conditions. The falls were mesmerising.
We had a delicious lunch with homemade pies and pizza that everyone enjoyed before continuing our way to Paronella Park.
The park was so different to what I was expecting. Jose was an amazing man to build all of this especially lugging all the building supplies up and down the grand staircase. I had enough trouble just walking up it.
It was a lovely day and I enjoyed every bit of it. The driver was very friendly and made sure everyone enjoyed their day. He also drove well

This place was everything I imagined it would be, such a beautiful serene magical place, I just walked around imagining what it would have been like in it’s day. The night tour is a must as well, just book a cabin on the property so you don’t have to drive at night, there is also a caravan park on sight. When you arrive you are welcomed by the owner or one of his team and someone is there to farewell you when you leave as well, they can also book you in at the local pub for a meal that night it’s just a short walk up the road over a suspension bridge over the falls, there is also a on sight cafe. All up for me it was an amazing experience.

Our tour guide Michelle did a wonderful job of keeping everyone organised, tailoring the experience to our group's interests and making this a fun and memorable day trip. The tour was a great mix of educational, exciting and relaxing activities. She went out of her way to drop everyone off at their respective accommodations, and even offered to take me to the airport so I didn't have to book a taxi. It was one of the best tours I've been on, I highly recommend it. Whatever you're paying her it isn't enough!!

A full day tour is not enough for the locations included in the tour. Millaa Millaa so pretty and welcome surprise. The brave souls can take a swim. The Curtain Fig Tree stop along the way. Paronella fascinating but visit not long enough to fully explore. Really enjoyed this great day with morning tea at Lake Barrine. A drive through Innisfail on the way back. An informative and entertaining tour guide. Drove through several art deco villages which would have like to have explored.

The tour was beautiful, educational and inspiring.
Steve was stellar. Informative, helpful professional and funny. It's very obvious Steve obviously enjoys his job and even made an extra stop! Don't know what his wages are but I believe he deserves a raise.
The vehicle was comfortable.
The tea break was delicious, as was lunch.
