- Anita L0 contributionsGreat day on Green IslandGreat day on the Big Cat to Green island. The weather was perfect. The water was so clear so the visibility for snorkelling was fantastic. We did the snorkelling safari which I would highly recommend as you go a bit further out so you see so much more. We saw pretty coral, many species of fish, turtles and we learnt a lot about the reef. Crew were really friendly and we had a fantastic day from start to finish.Written 30 August 2024
- 759treacyb0 contributionsVery pleasant and relaxing.Beautiful Island . The variety of lunch options on the Island limited eg no cake available. Beautiful walk around the Island.Written 31 August 2023
- Jacques M0 contributionsA quick tropic getawayAfter a short ferry ride, you end up on this tropical island, with a lovely coral reef surrounding the bay and sandy beaches. The Reef safari was great as well, and I learnt loads about coral and the upkeep of the oceans in such a short time. There's also a fish feeding before you depart at the end of the day which is great to see as well.Written 19 June 2023

- mrswinendine0 contributionsGreat day outWe had a great visit to Green Island starting with a ferry trip to the island itself. The ride out was on a huge boat with good air conditioning and a bar that was open prior to sailing. On arrival at the island it was a short walk along the gangway and we headed straight to the store to collect snorkelling equipment. From there we followed signs on a footpath and made our way to a nearby beach where lifeguards were on duty with flags out. Here sun-beds and umbrellas were available to hire at a cost of $40. We could buy soft drinks here too. The snorkelling and swimming was great with shoals of fish to be seen. The island is a small one and very easy to walk around; use either the path or stroll on the beach. The island was very clean too despite the numbers visiting. I really enjoyed this place and recommend it to all. If I had one recommendation it would be to add the crocodile experience into the price of the ticket.Written 13 March 2023
- marguerete r0 contributionsa ferry not a cruisethe cruise is basically just a transfer to the island to take you there and back so it is not a cruise as such.Written 11 January 2023
- 1410agus0 contributionsBeautiful experience for a day tourA perfect place to go and spend the whole day with family or friends. The crew was very friendly, food very tasty! Super recommendable!Written 16 April 2022
- nicolcollins0 contributionsGreen IslandWhat a lovely day on Green Island. The smorgasbord was great. The glass bottom boat was cool and the semi- submersible was aswome. The best way to see all the fish and coral and saw a turtle too. Snorkelling was ok but don't see as many colourful fish. Would recommend doing the full day, not enough time to look around the Island and Snorkel. Would recommend this activity.Written 27 January 2022
- camsean0 contributionsMediocre IslandThe main disappointment for us was the island itself, which is very small and rather nondescript. It was extremely windy on the day we went and it was unpleasant to sit on most parts of the island. In terms of snorkelling, the wind had stirred up the sediment, so there wasn’t much to see. We went on the mini-sub and, again, the coral-viewing was very underwhelming. We did enjoy the lunch well enough, though.Written 19 July 2021
- Road4409960 contributionsEasy to enjoy close Great Barrier Reef IslandA great full day cruise, with catamaran return transfer direct from Cairns marina. Easy booking service, checkin and launch. Although the onboard boat staff appear busy, your needs are met. The tour included a glass bottom boat tour of the surrounding reef, showing huge tropical fish, live coral, large clams, turtles, reef sharks and marine life. We took our own snorkel equipment and stinger suits, the on-site life guard was very helpful, informative and friendly. This way, you can enjoy and experience everything the island has to offer. The island team are great, providing exceptional professional service. You can snorkel directly from shore and will instantly see huge tropical fish, memo and turtles. The resort had great amenities, and will make a perfect mid year tropical island getaway. As the island is teaming with birds, you’re greated at the jetty with bird life, the rooms and accommodation is further away and relaxing. The crocodile enclosures and show is fabulous, the family team are passionate and love their crocodiles as their treasured family. The passion for the crocodiles is high and genuine. Well worth the small entry fee. The kids and adults alike loved the personalised crocodile feeding tour. The natural rainforest on the island is in pristine condition and easy to walk along the timber boardwalks. This is a great way to easily experiencing and enjoy Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, without seasickness and hassle. The scenic Green Island is surrounded by Cairns city and nearby mountains and islands. A great day trip and holiday destination.Written 28 December 2020

- Savvytraveller20500 contributionsSnuba one of a kindWas an amazing experience out to green island, snorkelling around looking at all different kind of fish. The best part of the day was when we went out to snuba diving with benny the instructor, it was the most wonderful experience ever. When we got to the bottom we had the opportunity to feed the fish that was around us with the specialised fish food which was just an awesome experience. A big thanks to benny for making my fiancé and my first time snuba experience so unbelievable. Benny was so knowledgeable and helpful i would recommend it to anyone who wants to try out something amazing.Written 3 October 2020
- Pipss0 contributionsDay trip on Big CatThe island looked amazing on the brochure so we had to go and experience snorkelling on Great Barrier Reef. When we waited on the boat weather was shocking and was only getting worse. In small writing said if the westher conditions are bad ship won't sail. It was rough, barely seen any fish or coral on the glass boat and no snorkelling. Food on the boat was overcooked and sloppy, not worth it. Island itself was smelly, windy and all in repairs. Visit was horrible and trip should have been cabcelled and postponedWritten 31 August 2020
- 24brendand0 contributionsGreat day seeing the Great Barrier ReefUnbelievable day with Great Adventures. My fiancé and I got the Discovery package which include a boat to Green Island, a glass bottom boat ride, snorkel equipment, and use of the pool on the island. Couldn’t have imagined a better day on the island. Seeing the GBR was an incredible experience through them. Highly recommend.Written 5 March 2020
- Lindy S0 contributionsNot a long time at sea.If a long trip and being on the waves all day is not your thing then a trip to Green Island maybe best for you. The boat is very comfortable and can be accessed all day, or you can go onto the island and visit the attractions and spend most of the time there. Tip: ask the lifeguard on the swimming beach to point you in the direction of the best snorkeling. If you don't you will really miss out!Written 11 February 2020

Had a great day out with this tour. Staff were friendly and helpful. We did the beginners snorkelling with Amber who was fantastic. Kept me calm and was very informative about the sea life we were observing, got to see sting rays, turtles, clams, plenty of fish including Nemo!
Also did the semi sub and glass boat tours. Both were good fun.
Had lunch on board which was surprisingly good considering just how many people they needed to cater for. Lots of free time if you want it to just swim, snorkel, dive or take a helicopter ride.

I only booked a half day because i needed time to get to the airport. I would reccommend a full day. They have snorkeling, bottom glass boat, para gliding, crocodile feeding of a monster 5.5 metre in a contained crocodile park and the restaurants and decent food is not availiable till about midday. Not sure if their is a half day afternoon trip. If so and you are strict for time I would choose the afternoon. Their is also accomodation on the island if you want to stay for a few nights or more. Its a beautiful environment. Their are signs up saying not to swim but that could be between certain months of the year and certain parts of the beach.
