Divers Den 3 day scuba trip.
My wife and I did a 3 day, 2 night scuba trip with Divers Den. We are both very experienced divers who have dived various locations over the world. The crew were amazing, very helpful, knowledgeable, and safe. The dive locations had plenty to see and explore. The night dives were on another level. Accomodation and food were first rate as well. Highly recommended and we will be back for another trip with Divers Den. Huge thanks to the team. 🙌

Great experience on board and in the water.
We did 3 nights onboard to take advantage of maximum time snorkeling and not traveling 4 hours each day going from shore to the reef each day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The food for each meal was excellent. The weather conditions 3 days was great for clear visibility 100 feet snorkeling and the 4th day winds increased water got rough and visibility was down to about 25 feet. Highly recommend for convenience and enjoyment. The boat has no control of the weather so that is understandable.

      Best Snokelling Trip!
This is a great snorkelling tour! The crew are great. Really professional and well organised. They provided great equipment and got all of our gear ready on the boat trip to the reef so we were ready to start snorkelling as soon as we got there. There are also scuba divers on the trip but plenty of room for everyone. We snorkelled at 2 different loctions and it was by far the best coral I have ever seen ( I have snorkelled a number of other times at Great Barrier Reef before). We saw 1000's of different sizes, shapes and colours of coral along with all of the fish and some turtles! Our personal snorkellling guide ( I'm sorry I forgot your name) was great as he led our snorkelling party over a very wide area of the reef to see everything. We snorkelled for around 1 1/2 hours at each location. A good lunch and snacks were provided, the boat is air conditioned and comfortable. Highly recommended if you just want to do the best quality snorkelling on the reef.

One of the best experiences of my life! Great Barrier Reef
This was an amazing experience for the whole family. I managed to overcome my fear of the ocean and just enjoy the beauty of it. I had my children with me including an 8 yr old. I had so many mixed emotions to overcome. My husband was fine but I was so scared initially. However our guide was so patient , understanding and kind he made it so easy for me. Fabio was an absolute legend and I truly don’t think I would have been able to do it without him guiding myself and my children. Thank you Fabio you are such a star!

      Referral course
I recently completed the three-day, two-night referral course, finished my open water certification, and enjoyed five incredible fun dives. My instructor, Lewis, was fantastic—he covered all the necessary skills thoroughly while guiding me through some beautiful reefs. Thanks to his extensive knowledge of the area, I saw sharks, rays, cuttlefish, turtles, scorpion fish, and more. The highlight of the entire trip was the night dive, and I highly recommend everyone give it a try

Best Way to see the Great Barrier Reef!
This was one of the top experiences of my life! My boyfriend and I completed the 5-day PADI Open Water Course with Divers Den, including 2 days in the pool and 2 nights/3 days on a boat. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and our instructor, Clara, was amazing—patient, thorough, and an excellent teacher. She made every step easy to follow and helped us feel confident transferring skills from the pool to the ocean. Once in the water, we explored stunning reefs (Norman and Saxon) and saw cuttlefish, sharks, turtles, eels, stingrays, vibrant coral, and countless fish. The boat was well-organized, with comfortable rooms overlooking the ocean, plenty of lounge space, and air conditioning. We had 3 dives a day, plus an optional night dive for certified divers, which was an unforgettable chance to see sharks and massive fish under the stars. The food was outstanding—fresh, delicious meals with dessert after dinner and unlimited tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. This experience combined the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef with earning a diving certification, and I’d highly recommend it. Huge thanks to Divers Den and especially Clara!

I can recommend doing the openwater with divers den. Van was a great instructor and very patient with all of us. He also showed/told us about the importance of the reef and the organisms that live there. We had the greatest time with him;) Also Taylah was a great instructor and could show/tell us many different things about the reef, the animals that live there and the condition it is in whilst diving. Everything was well organised, the crew was great and they were very flexibel with us joinig additional courses. During our courses and on the boat we also met some great people with the same passion.

      Bed Bugs! Christmas 2024
IMPORTANT: If you stayed during Christmas 2024 - there were BED BUGS onboard the OceanQuest. We stayed one night and found bed bugs in the front left rooms on Dec 23. We even caught one in a plastic bag for proof. Two days later, I came away with over 30 bites all over my body. I'm most disappointed in the overall response by the company. They did their best with what they could by bug bombing the room that morning but only isolated it. Realistically, there were bed bugs in multiple rooms on the boat. After bug bombing, there were no time to air out the room, which is bad for whoever stayed in our rooms right after. Diver's Den was fully booked for the holiday, but it also means that many customers were exposed to bed bugs or chemicals from the bomb. I'm also frustrated by the manager response. Though we received a small refund for one room that had the bed bugs, nothing else was done to address it. We told him about my bed bug bites from staying in the room next door and he suggested we received them elsewhere. Now, my family is dealing with all of the consequences of rewashing all of our clothes while out of the country and trying to make sure we don't bring back Diver's Den's bed bugs to our house. Aside from the bed bugs, snorkeling was fine and the staff did well there. Food was okay but we didn't have enough on the day boat out or overnight. It would have been good to offer snacks or other things because our entire group was starving for every meal. This company is probably great for scuba divers but for us, it was only okay. I'd recommend searching around for another liveaboard.

      Experience of a lifetime!
We did the scuba diving for beginners and it was amazing! Everyone in the staff was amazing, they were very clear and very helpful and nice. Raj did an amazing presentation regarding the safety and how to do it. Then we went for the dive with Sony and it was something special! Sony was great with us and showed us all the things to see, we saw a turtle, nemo fishes and a lot of beautiful corals. I can really recommend this experience it was well worth the money and the experience is for a lifetime!

      Amazing
I am a non swimmer with a general phobia of water but decided to sign up for the scuba and snorkelling anyway. Sebastian made me feel extremely comfortable and gently encouraged me to put my head under the water. I finally have a snorkelling experience that I can remember fondly. Scuba instructor Caitlin was also extremely patient and encouraging with all the panic I introduced in the water. Unfortunately I was not able to successfully finish scuba but the instructors are amazing if you have courage.

Six day dive trip, disappointment. Poor quality dives with a lot of repetition. Lots of hidden extra charges.
A poor quality live aboard operation. Sites were repeated. More like a glorified day boat operation. Divers Den only keen on daily transfer at 1430 daily.

      Wonderful time with wonderful people.
The 2 nights and 3 days at the great barrier reef was one of the best experiences I had, and choosing Divers Den was definitely the right idea. The crew are a group of dedicated divers who feel extremely happy when other customers enjoy the stay and dives on the Ocean Quest. I am astounded by how they remember the names of every person who come in. There are almost 30 coming in and leaving every day !! Really well done . I dived with 5-6 dive masters and found each one of them extremely delightful, experienced, and caring. What an amazing group of people !! Thanks, Deanne, Panchi, Felix, Thomas, Steph, and my lucky man, Lewis !! You guys were amazing. 🤙🤙🤙

      Trip of a lifetime!
Such an awesome trip with amazing guides, patient, enthusiastic and kind. Simon lead the trip exceptionally well, Diago was terrific fun but loved my sessions with Panchi/Francesca who also cared for my aged father. She was simply awesome! A great trip for a complete novice. Thank you!

My partner and I did a lot of research before choosing a company for our Great Barrier Reef diving experience, and we are very happy with our experience with Divers Den and would highly recommend them. We did the 3d/2n Ocean Quest cruise from Cairns. The dive sites were Plate top, Turtle Bay, Norman Reef Playground (x2), Troppos (x2), Saxon Reef Coral Garden, and Saxon Reef Twin Peaks. Every single dive site was great, more than lived up to the hype of GBR diving. From our very first moment aboard the ship, we were so impressed by the organization and professionalism of the company. They did an exceptional job managing a large group of people, and despite it being a large group, made it feel personalized and friendly (remembering names, divvying up into smaller groups, being so attentive to everyone). The staff even went above and beyond, I was quite sea sick in the first few hours on the smaller Aqua Quest boat and they immediately came to help me and were so kind (special shoutout to fellow Canadian Sandi who ran the Ocean Quest while we were there and she did an amazing job!). We had a number of different dive instructors/guides and they were all excellent and instilled a lot of confidence. The accommodations were way better than we were expecting (actually comfortable and cute and fairly spacious!). Expectations were low for food aboard the boat, but it was actually so delicious! Different, high quality fruit/veg/protein options at every meal and DELICIOUS. Overall we really felt the value was exceptional and would highly recommend.

3 days diving (10 dives) and 2 nights accommodation on Ocean Quest were wonderful in many ways. Our cabin was a good size with big windows and a good hot shower in our bathroom. Good portions at every meal and we were well provided for as vegans and vegetarians. The dive crew were always happy to help carrying gear etc, but you have to pay extra for a dive guide and they don’t take any underwater photos. I was lucky to find a great dive buddy so we listened to the dive briefings and went our own way within the recommendations. My husband doesn’t dive and it was too rough for easy snorkelling so he was bored soggy. Also they had the air con on full time inside the boat and we had to wrap up warm including in our cabin - it got down to 17C. Not what we expected from a tropical holiday! A few people said that they had slept in their clothes to keep warm.
The crew made the most of challenging sea conditions and took us to safe places to dive where we saw so many wonderful fish, turtles, sharks, corals, anemones etc. Be warned that you will have to step from one boat to another for transfers and make sure that they transfer all your bags.

We're thrilled to hear that your 3-day diving experience on the Ocean Quest was filled with many wonderful moments. It's fantastic that you enjoyed your cabin, the meals. We're sorry to hear your husband had a less-than-ideal time snorkeling due to the rough conditions. Your insights about onboard temperatures are noted. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide a more satisfying experience. Thank you for choosing Divers Den and for your valuable feedback.

Firstly I have to thank the staff- Axel in particular. I arrived for a triple dive and only realised at the dock that i had booked it for the wrong (in the past) date. Luckily the boat wasn't totally full and they were able to accommodate me! That was great- they did not have to and i really appreciated it as i only had one day in Cairns.
I did a guided dive with James, he was a great guide and was really helpful. The second and third dives were much better than the first.
The boat takes 80 people, you need to specify (and pay for) a guided dive but the staff try to put similar experience together. There are snorkelers, certified divers and introductory divers on board but the staff managed to keep everything on track and gave a great service. Thanks again!

Wow! What a super-slick operation. Difficult to find fault. From the second perfect punctuality to the food, onboard accomodation, friendliness of the staff and location, it was simply unforgettable.
I would also say this package (we did 4 days/3 nights) was absolutely value for money.
My friend of forty years came over from the UK, and seeing the marine life created a life long memory.
Thank you to all of staff for their hard work and willingness to stop and chat. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Audrey for keeping the onboard logistics running perfectly, the chef for the great food and the engineer and skipper who always shared a laugh and their experience.
Finally to our dive guides, always patient, professional and knowledgeable. We ordered what creatures we wanted to see and Taylor and Michael delivered!
    Short version. Highly recommended.

We booked a certified scuba diving day with Divers Den which consisted of two dives at different locations. We have just quailed as PADI Open Water divers but only just and we were a bit nervous. We communicated our feelings via email before the day and eventually booked a private guide for the first dive.
We arrived early and were immediately greeted by one of the crew and completed the medical forms. He also signed to witness our certification.
The whole logistics and organisation felt incredibly professional and robust, putting us at easy very quickly. Then we met Lily, our private instructor/guide. She immediately made us feel safe. She oozed confidence, knowledge and most of all calmness and consideration. After speaking to her, we decided to upgrade our second dive to private too. This was the best decision we could ever have made. Although it cost an extra AU$160 - it was worth every penny. Lily was amazing. So calm and steady. She guided us around the reefs on both dives, whilst giving us pointers to improve our techniques. We couldn’t rate her high enough.

Because of her support, we spotted Nemo, Dory, a ray, 3 sharks as well as a million other fish and sea creatures. We felt relaxed, safe and comfortable.
There was also a professional photographer on board so that you could guarantee a keepsake photo of the day.

All the hard work of kitting up the BCD was done by the crew - everything!!! We were signed in and out and had safety numbers so one could be left out on the reef. All we did was enjoy the dives!!!

If you are planning to dive in Cairns, I honestly would advise you to go with Divers Den and if you’re lucky enough to be teamed up with Lily - you’re going to have a life changing experience you’ll never forget.

Thank you Divers Den and thank you Lily!! X

I chose this outfitter because of its high ratings. Uhhh, I can only assume the ratings are from a bunch of first-time snorkelers and divers. I have been on snorkel boats in at least a dozen different places around the world and this ain’t it. The boat was incredibly crowded and also serves as the transport to their overnight live aboard boat, so there was luggage everywhere in the aisles and on seats. The whole thing was fairly chaotic and divers definitely took precedence over the snorkelers.

Lunch was chicken wings and some cold sides, like coleslaw, salad, pasta and potatoes. No drinks were offered (but you could buy soda and beer); we eventually discovered there was a jug of water towards the back of the boat and upstairs, but no one ever announced this.

The good things I will say is that they let us have 45 minutes on the reef at each stop. Also, the steps/platform on the back make it very easy to get in and out of the water. The staff was generally pretty nice, but some were definitely more helpful than others.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and are committed to using it to enhance our services. I apologize for the difficulties you encountered during the transfer process and the perception that snorkelers were given secondary treatment. We strive to deliver a 5-star experience for all our guests and are currently reassessing our procedures to ensure everyone receives equal attention and ample time in the water. If you do wish to further discuss this, please kindly email: info@diversden.com.au Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. My partner and I did a 2 day live-aboard cruise with Diver's Den and it was a great time! It was my first time ever diving and we signed up for the "Intro Diver" sessions, which meant we needed to hold on to our guide during the dives. The first two dives were great when it was just the two of us, but further dives had three intro divers. The guide was great and handled us all very well, but would recommend having multiple guides for this group as it was less comfortable for the divers (and I'm sure the guide wouldn't mind having one less diver on their arm). Overall, Albert and Biscuit were awesome guides though so can't complain, they both pointed out some cool features and kept us all safe during the dives! Sharks in the Dark, an option for non night divers, was a little weird. I won't go into it too much, but both my partner and I didn't love it and would recommend to skip it and just hang out on the boat.

The accommodations were surprisingly great! I think the shower was larger than some I've seen in nearby hotels. Food was solid, but limited options for dinner. Besides the great staff, the best part was definitely the people you interact with. A lot of folks into the same things (obviously connected by diving) and open to meeting new people on our trip!

Overall, great trip and would recommend if you like to dive!

I travelled to Cairns from Brisbane specifically to do a Great Barrier Reef snorkel trip and I am stoked that we chose Divers Den. The stuff on board were all engaging in the delivery of their important information and were very efficient at getting a large group of tourists out on the water. The guides were all so knowledgeable about the reef and the species living there and were more than happy to take photos for us and help out in every way they could. 100/10 would recommend Divers Den for Great Barrier Reef snorkelling.

Oceanquest is an experience locals and tourists must do. Even if the weather isnt perfect the reef is still a beautiful place to explore, the whole day was a combination of relaxing and exciting. I signed up to do my advanced open water course and it was one of the greatest diving experiences ive had. Day 1 we went out on Aquaquest and geared up for 1 fun dive before the course started. Shout out to my guide Thea who taught me a new skill creating bubble rings with my hands and Carlos the photographer who followed us on the fun dive and snapped some amazing shots. Anna then briefed me for my first dive of the course and made the whole experience fun and easy. She even spotted a couple of nudibranch's lounging on the boulder coral. After a delicious feed of perfectly cooked chicken we then transferred over to Ocean Quest. The supervisor Sandy took over from there and was a delightful host. Full of energy and very caring for the staff and customers. Liam jumped in and checked everybody's deitary requirements and took great care of everyone at the bar. The rooms are cosy and you get an ensuite with a warm shower. Jonathan would be my instructor for the next 4 dives, he came to introduce himself and brief me on what we would be doing. Jonathan was very professional, friendly, and his communication in and out of the water was perfect. His demonstrations underwater helped me smash through all the skills in no time, leaving enough time to enjoy some exploring on each dive. The highlight of the trip by far was the night dive. The giant trevaly followed us to the sea floor while we prowled around the reef like a pack of wolves hunting prey in the woods. Nothing better than spotting sharks roaming in the dark. Day 2 the weather had settled overnight. After a full English breakfast, fruit, cereal coffee, tea, juice and toast on offer the guest were briefed and back in the water for 2 more dives before lunch and pick up. Not only am I now Advanced open water certified, I am happy with my experience, relaxed, and loaded with more adventure stories.

I had the most incredible experience with Divers Den on their full-day Great Barrier Reef dive tour. I ended up diving three days in a row, completing nine dives, and I can confidently say this is the most professional dive operator I’ve ever encountered—and I’ve been diving all around the world in more than a dozen countries.

From start to finish, everything was impeccably organized, safe, and professional. The equipment was top-notch, the boat was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were truly outstanding. Special shoutouts to Pedro and Dani, my fantastic dive guides who were excellent guides taking care of each member of the group and displaying excellent safety practices. Also shout out to Carlos, who captured stunning underwater photos!

The diving itself exceeded all expectations—exploring the Great Barrier Reef is even better than expected. And to top it all off, the boat serves a delicious breakfast and lunch. Honestly, the professionalism and standards on board are unmatched—it’s the best I’ve ever experienced.

If you’re looking for an unparalleled diving experience on the Great Barrier Reef, look no further than Divers Den. I’ll definitely be back!

For diving we had sharks, octopus, turtle, trumpet fish, jacks, nudis, eel, feather starfish crinoid, rays, and more. The corals are splendid.
