- milliew1280 contributionsBrilliant day outWe had an absolutely brilliant day in the rainforest yesterday. The day was made by our fabulous tour guide, Steve, who was so passionate, knowledgeable, and just a really fun guy. He was amazing at explaining where we were, which made the drive much more interesting, and he was very humorous. We visited some wonderful places and really beautiful locations, and saw some great wildlife including crocodiles!! Steve also had a great playlist for the drive home! We would 100% recommend this company. Thanks so much for our wonderful day Steve 😊😊Written 13 March 2025
- 1710Laurap0 contributionsAmazing experienceAmazing experience with Laurence! Very educational and fun! Loved the sights and we learnt so much about the heritage and culture! Would 100% recommend!Written 6 March 2025

- 64tedp0 contributionsThere is no better way to explore this mesmerising region then with Discovery Tours Australia!Superb tour through the fabulous Daintree, covered so much ground in only a single day without missing a thing. Our guide, Steve, was brilliant, enthusiastic, good humoured and incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. Not a tour to miss!Written 12 February 2025
- dongS5679KD0 contributionsFabulous trip to the rainforest!Had a very long and memorable day with James who is a super friendly, funny and knowledgeable guide. We had a multi age, international group on the trip and he attended to the interests of young and old. Felt he knew the route thoroughly and threw in a few bonus stops for great views. We learned a lot from our lunch host and our river guide. We lucked out and even saw a baby croc, a cassowary with a baby and some lovely birds. Thanks to all for a very special day.Written 5 February 2025
- liz m0 contributionsExcellentFabulous trip made even better by our excellent guide Laurence’ bit disappointed to only have one dubious sighting of a croc but overall a great dayWritten 12 January 2025
- Michelle J0 contributionsDo not miss this tour !Well organised, very good communication, on time pick up and stick to time lines on the day. James is a very knowledgeable tour guide and pleasant. Highly recommend this tour.Written 13 December 2024
- Hafeelzz0 contributionsAmazing, comfortable and beautiful!Had a great time on the tour! The Mossman gorge was beautiful and the trip through the Daintrees was amazing! Daryl was our tour guide and had a wealth of knowledge on the tour. Daryl took the time to take us through the rainforest on a guided tour and stopped to point out all the native fauna and flora on the trip. I would definitely be coming back to explore more of the area and we’d be looking to see if Daryl is still around!Written 7 December 2024
- maudc7800 contributionsAmazing day with excellent tourguide! We had an amazing day with our tourguide Darryl! He was able to tell us lots of information about the area, culture and history. On the way back, he even drove us through Palm Cove and Port Douglas and gave us several recommandations about do's and dont's. We definitely recommend this tour!Written 25 November 2024
- Anil L0 contributionsExcellent Fun Learning ExperienceExcellent tour, covering great places & good care for the customer with a delicious lunch & tea break included. Our superb guide Jim was a font of great knowledge relating to the tour who created a fabulous atmosphere to make this an amazing learning experience in a very fun way. Discovery tours you live up to your name!! Thank you!Written 15 November 2024
- Charles Z0 contributionsA very long bus rideSpend over 90% of the time on the bus. And when we did get out it was rushed. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but we did not pay for just the bus ride. Would have preferred a much much longer time walking through the rainforest instead of zipping past it in a bus..Written 9 November 2024
- 736GailM0 contributionsA must do excursion for Cairns.Definitely something to add to your visit to Cairns (though it was a long day). We were picked up promptly at our hotel by our guide, Darrell who entertained us throughout the trip with knowledgeable information and anecdotes on the area and sites we visited. I’m glad we went with the small group option as our guide was able to spend more time with us individually plus we got to meet our fellow travellers in a more intimate setting. The lunch at the Daintree Tree House was absolutely incredible and on par with many five star gourmet restaurants. I had a beautifully grilled kangaroo steak and my husband had a very tasty barramundi - both dishes were accompanied by a rainbow of local fruits which our host, Richard, went through in detail. The swim in Mossman Gorge was refreshing and the cruise on the Daintree River was fun as Jed helped us in tracking down several crocodiles - including Scarface! The one blip was Cape Tribulation as we were only able to check out the beach as the trail was closed. One tip - buyTWO ice creams at the Daintree Ice Cream shop. They’re delectable and you’ll want seconds!Written 7 November 2024
- 852tommasoz0 contributionsGood day around DaintreeReally nice tour of the national park and different beaches. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and provided a lot of commentary during both ways which made the tour quite rich in terms of content (even though some breaks to rest sometimes would have been needed).Written 5 November 2024
- Niffie1230 contributionsAdventures in AustraliaIt was an informative tour. Adrian H was great. It’s a long day, a lot of time is spent on the bus. Wish we were able to walk around the rainforest more. It’s a good trip if you need a break from the sun. Glad we did it but no need to repeat.Written 25 October 2024
- katiewM8674YO0 contributionsA perfect day in daintreeAn absolutely perfect day in Daintree with Steve. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about Daintree and the surrounding areas, and the ecosystem of the rainforest. Full of interesting facts and stories providing an almost constant commentary throughout the day. He made the trip so enjoyable and even added a couple of extra bonus sights for us along the way. Mossman gorge was beautiful and very refreshing for a cool down dip, lunch stop was beautiful food in the heart of the rainforest and cape tribulation was well worth the visit. Yes it’s a long day, but with limited time in Cairns it was absolutely worth it and the day passed quickly. Would not change the trip at all and would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to explore Cairns and the fabulous surrounding areas. Thank you Steve for such a great dayWritten 19 October 2024

A well organised tour. We had a fabulous tour guide in Alfred. He was very knowledgeable and thoughtful of the needs of varying people on the bus. A highlight was the train from Kuranda and the contrast between the magnificent Daintree Rainforest and the vastness of the Outback. The accommodation both in Cairns and Cooktown was good. We particularly liked the Sovereign Resort Hotel in Cooktown.

Our tours were well organized. Stayed at the Coral Tree Inn clean, quiet, easy walking distance to the waterfront and harbour. Down side, No elevator and the breakfast was $17.00per person with discount. Harbour cruise with lunch very good. Reef cruise and dive was good, a long day but worth it. The Draintree & Cape was 12 hrs but worth every minute our driver Steve was funny and very informative and never rushed anybody. We were ready for our day off by then. Next was the kuranda Scenic Train and skyrail excellent trip. The GSL Aviation flight over the reef was just fantastic. Rainforest and Waterfalls our driver Mic took us through the real back roads to view the untouched nature. Another excellent driver only three of us in the SUV.
Everything Discovery tours said they delivered. Would definitely use them again.
