        A delightful day in Cairns
Had a delightful tour of Cairns which included a local museum of the cities history. A church which commissioned a couple of local artist to create windows which were uniquely painted and treated of creation to current times. Stopped for a scone and tea and finished with the Botanical Garden. Our guide Chris was knowledgeable and easy to spend time with. Would highly recommend this tour.

Great overview of Cairns at a good price
It was a good value tour with a most knowledgeable driver. The church was amazing,, the museum and guide interesting, and a lovely afternoon tea. We love the Botanical Gardens, the views from the mountains and a lovely trip to Palm Cove. A thoroughly enjoyable day to see highlights of Cairns. Highly recommend.

        Terrific Cairns tour
Chris was a terrific guide. Very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure everyone on the tour had a memorable experience. Chris individually dropped all guests off at their chosen destination which was awesome. A great tour and a must for travellers wanting a Cairns experience.

        Great Cairnes area tour
This was a fabulous trip, and it went to places that were great and further out than we would walk to. Most of all, however, is the wealth of knowledge about the area, each stop and its history that was shared by our driver, who is a local. I'd do it again in a heartbat.

        Nice day
Had a perfect tour with Guide Chris and saw a lot. The dinner cruise was a little disappointing as it started in the dark without spectacular views .

        Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation
Mark was our driver and guide. His relaxed approach made our day fun and easy going. Loved the Daintree River cruise, boardwalk explore through the rainforest, and visit to Cape Tribulation Beach which was beautiful. Lunch was average. Absolute highlight was swimming in the waterhole and ice cream on the way home. Small group of only 16 people was perfect. Mary Ann in the office was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend the Billy Tea Tour through Cairns Discovery Tours. A great day in the Daintree!

        Nice
Tours was fantastic Graeme with a E was a great tour guide very informative, But so disappointing with the food service on the boat. Waiters needed to be more attentive to the trays on the buffet, as quite a few were empty when we were asked to go get our dinner.

The way to visit Cairns from a Cruise Ship
All arranged by Cairns Discovery Tours, very professional and better than booking on board our Cruise Ship and deaprture was near by and we were back to the ship on time, and they kept in touch before and after our trips. .We Undertook the Green Island Day Trip and next day Kuranda Rail and SkyRail return. Green Island is nice for a swim, at hightide, reef is not as colourful as I saw some years ago, glass bottom boat was nice to see an assortment of fishes, but that and snorkeling not as good as in the past. Would fully recommend the day trip to the Outer Reef. We thought we were on the Big Cat but instead went on the Reef "Rocket", looking a bit tired. Green Island tourist complex is OK , needs a bit of a freshen up but has an assortment of eating and drinking facilities as well as snorkelling and dive hire The Kuranda Rail and Sky Rail are musts in Cairns, a wonderful day out into the hills and also see Barron Falls

        Fantastic Company
We traveled to Cairns early in January 2023. When we were planning our trip, I contacted a few different travel agencies in Queensland. Maryanne from Cairns Discovery Tours was the first to respond and turned out to be head and shoulders better than any of other tour companies that we spoke with. She took a lot of time and gave us a bunch of options before we came up with a plan that we both thought was ideal. Our favorite day was going out to the Reef Magic dive platform to see the Great Barrier Reef. The other tours that she planned for us were great as well. What set Maryanne apart is she was very responsive to all of our inquiries, and seemed to be always available to answer any questions. That gave us a lot of confidence that we were going to have the best experience in Cairns - which we did! If you are planning a trip to Queensland, your first call should be to Maryanne at Cairns Discovery Tours!

        Cairns Dinner Cruise Fail
WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!! Avoid if you want to spend a hundred bucks per head and get crappy dry food and you can't see a bloody thing. It gets dark at 6 pm, and it's pitch black outside. Honestly, it was not worth it, and it was disappointing. Did i mention the questionable prawns served...gross. Go have dinner along the boardwalk. Sorry Cairns Discovery Tours, this is one excursion I won't be offering my travel clients. I wasn't impressed and can't sell this as a travel agent. I hate being harsh, but this did cost me a lot of money for what I got. Also, I had to pay for drinks....WHAT THE HELL IS THAT????? There was no value for the money spent.

Reading the other reviews you would think this would be a great tour to take. How wrong you would be. If you are over 70 with a walking aid then this tour is perfect for you.The tour starts with a visit to St Monica's cathedral which was lovely. we then moved on to the museum. this was extremely boring in the way it was presented by the guide. We were told of for looking around and not paying attention. I said to another guide nearby that we were bored and she said the main guide would get cross if we moved away. I had brought our children with me, ( they are in their twenties and they were bored silly). The next stop was botanic gardens. we walked a short distance at a very slow pace and were shown a couple of trees and plants. After seeing the magnificent gardens in Sydney and Brisbane I'm afraid these were very poor. The afternoon tea was nice and after speaking with the other people on the tour I realised most people felt the same. Next stop the gorge. I can't tell you what it was like because it started to rain heavily and my footwear was not suitable for this. The driver Eric was angry that a few of us would not leave the bus, saying rain never killed anyone. Listening to the people who did venture out, they said it was okay but not worth plodding through the rain. Next stop palm cove. It was pouring with rain and again a number of us decided to stay on the bus. Eric was not pleased...All in all an awful way to spend an afternoon. Eric was keen for his tip a he helped people from the bus..

Thank you for your comments regarding your tour with us. 99.9% of our reviews are positive and this gives me cause to know we are delivering an excellent tour as we have done so for the past 25 years. I am really sorry that you have not enjoyed your experience with us. The tour is suitable for all age groups and as a small personalised tour operator we help our guests where required. I have contacted the Cairns Museum regarding your comments as this is the first time we have had negative feedback about the Museum, however we take all feedback as constructive. I have been advised that when you arrived at the Gorge that it was a light drizzle and the guides comments where to try and add a little Aussie humour. I apologise that this was misunderstood. We do provide umbrellas and any footwear would have been alright including thongs, flip flops sandals etc. Another misunderstanding would be when Eric assists guests off the bus his hand is to aid guests OFF THE BUS and not for tips. Eric has been in my employ for over 7 years and is a professional guide. I trust you enjoyed the remainder of your holiday in Tropical North Queensland during our wet season. Regards Maryanne - Owner

Friendly, fun and knowledgeable tour guide,John, showed us around ‘his patch’. It was a fun group of guests being from VIC, NSW and SA, there was friendly banter.

Visits to local sights with short tour of Cairns Museum with a guide and yummy warm scones for devonshire tea and great lookouts for viewing amazing scenery.

I really enjoyed our visit to the Cairns Botanic Gardens where the flora is diverse and gorgeous.

Very enjoyable trip more suited to adults of all ages and possibly less so for young children.

Thank you for a great summary of Cairns and Palm Cove history to date!

All of the sites we visited were enjoyable and worth-seeing. The highlight for me was the marvellous leadlight displays in St Monica's church.
Graham was a terrific tour guide. He was on time with his pick-ups and drop-offs and provided a knowledgeable and, at times, witty description of Cairns and its many attractions.

We really enjoyed this tour, which we combined with a visit to Cairns Aquarium and lunch as a full day tour. Matt, our driver and tour guide, provided a very informative and fun experience and drove us and 16 other tourists safely. The tour provided a lovely orientation to Cairns plus some great sights and walks including the Botanical Gardens, Barron Gorge and Palm Cove.

As we did not have a car, this tour was the perfect opportunity to see Cairns surroundings and to visit places we would not have seen otherwise. The trip started with an interesting visit of the Cathedral with its unique and modern stained glass windows. Then we had a quick tour of the Museum before heading out of Cairns for afternoon tea. Then we visited the Botanic Gardens with their amazing tropical flora before heading to Barron Gorge and its waterfall, and finishing at Palm Cove beach before returning to our hotels. Overall, a very diverse choice of places to please everyone. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate, with a good sense of humor.

Everything about the tour was fantastic, the church is definitely a must to see the stained glass windows, the museum was interesting and the guide was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The view at Barron Gorge was lovely as was the lookout overlooking Cairns. John’s knowledge of the plants in the Botanic Gardens was extraordinary and the Devonshire tea at Noa’s was a welcome treat. A perfect half day trip.
