About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- mayden990 contributionsNorth Stradbroke was beautiful!Rob was our driver and guide and he was fantastic. Very personable and fun guy, made for a great trip. We had perfect weather and great views. Small group of 11 is perfect. We saw wild kangaroos and koalas!Written 21 August 2024
- aakanksha_khanna20 contributionsAwesome experience, highly recommend! We went for a day tour of Stradbroke island with Hit The Road Tours and had a blast! The tour was quite enjoyable and our guide Katie was just so delightful and kept the spirits high during the tour. Thanks to her we not only got to see some koalas, roos and dolphins in the wild, but also got a chance to connect with fellow tour members + discover some new music. The group was only 10 members so it was a curated and easygoing experience. Highly recommend ! Tip: don't forget to carry sunscreen and maybe some food from home as the Straddie cafes and restaurants are pricey.Written 10 March 2024
- annbO1590RQ0 contributionsA lovely day trip to North StradbrokeWe did the day tour of North Stradbroke with Ross. He's an excellent guide - very knowledgeable and experienced. The group was mixed - different ages and nationalities, and we all enjoyed ourselves. Pickup point easy to find. Transport comfortable. Highly recommended.Written 22 January 2024
- 876Patricia0 contributionsExcellent day trip!Fabulous trip with Ross to North Stradbrook Island. It was my birthday, and a perfect way to spend one. Ross is an excellent guide. The fact that the tour is done with a small group, makes it feel like you are travelling with friends. We saw lots of wildlife, and it was fascinating, to learn all about the history. Ross is very knowledgeable. The prawn roll which we ordered for lunch, was delicious! Will definitely recommend this trip to friends and family.Written 22 January 2024

- ipshita g0 contributionsAmazing tour.I loved the tour. First of all Ross and team waited for me to take the tour. I really wanted to do the tour and all Strathbrok Island tours were all booked up. They accommodated me and I am so thankful for that. I loved all the history and chat I had with Ross. He was really amazing guide and he spotted so many animals for us. It was fabulous. I like when the experience is personalized and also more private and with good people. This was it!Written 28 November 2023

The island was beautiful and we saw kangaroos, koalas, turtles and parrots as well as beautiful beaches and stunning walks. Would highly recommend it. We had a beautiful day at North Stradbroke Island.
Orlando was an amazing tour guide, he was helpful, thoughtful, always on time, very knowledgeable and very flexible when we need to make adjustments on our schedule.
He took us to the most beautiful places in the Island and while doing that he was explaining and telling the historical facts about the Island.
I cant wait to do it again. This place is amazing, but also big, so it was important to go with Hit The Road Tours because they knew what places we should visit, the timing for each stop and also the story behind everything. It was a day to remember forever.

From the moment we were picked up by Ross, we felt relaxed and looked forward to the day. There were a maximum total of 11 people on board with the majority of us from different countries.
Ross gave us funny and entertaining talks along the way regarding the aboriginal history as well as nature information. From the ferry crossing, the nature trails, koala, and kangaroo spotting, the Brown lake and bathing on Cylinder beach, everything was spot on!! Even the lunch, which wasn't included in the price, was great.
Well worth the money for the length of time and I would certainly recommend this trip.
Well done, HIT THE ROAD.

Fantastic 1-day trip to North Stradbroke Island, in Brisbane. Our guide, Brett, would explain interesting things about the island, Brisbane city, first Englishmen arriving, aborigens, etc. He also took the group "koala hunting" and we saw 5 koalas up on the trees.
It was great

Fernando was awesome! He did a great job getting the group to share and meet each other. Since we arrived to the ferry early he did an extra stop at the lighthouse before we boarded. He explained the various parts of the itinerary and made a few extra stops so we could view koalas and kangaroos. He pointed out turtles, manatees and whales along the walks. He was very informative and made the day very special!

Rio was the best guide. He had a lot of fun facts and great information on the history of the island and animals we saw through the day. He was very professional and on time. The tour was great there were 11 people total so it was the perfect size. Brown lake was great to see and learn about the culture of the natives and how they used the lake. The beach was beautiful and food at the restaurant resort was good. Had a perfect amount of time at the beach. I saw a whale breach. Then we went to the loop for a nature walk. The views were stunning. We saw kangaroo, turtles and eagle rays. Then we went to the next location and saw koalas in the wild as well as dolphins. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Rio, you won’t regret it.

Administration getting us on the tour was excellent. Very convenient pickup point in city. Comfortable and very clean small coach. Our host Orlando was extremely informative and a great asset to the day. The itinerary was perfect for giving us quite an insight into lots of aspects of Stradbroke Island.

I visited Stradbroke island with Hit the road tours with my girlfriend, the experience was fantastic!
The tour started from 6:30, ended by approximately 4:30pm, and we got plenty time for each stops, never felt rushed. And instead of large group, small group feels more personal, and Orlando was a great tour guide, very friendly and thoughtful for us.
My favourite part of the day was gorge board walk, we saw dolphins and lots other marine life.
I would definitely recommend this tour and would like to join them in the future.

I’m an honest reviewer and thus will write so. Overall the tour was great and as advertised. We saw some fantastic sites and incredible places.. Ross is a very good guide/host and the day is well worth it. Only saw one Kangaroo but did see two Wallabies , three sea turtles, three Koalas numerous birds and amazing beaches..Only had two very minor issues but hope it’s something they’ll consider for future guests. We always make every effort to be on time and all others but one also were there and ready on time. Frustrating the guide and guests alike it was not until 20 minutes after our expected arrival of 8:55 that we departed. Not much but enough to matter to us. Eventually the missing guest was contacted and made other arrangements to meet up. That message could have been relayed to that guest by head office when he didn’t arrive on time to begin with. Second, after requesting twice that the AC be turned up to cool the passengers at the back of the van, none was on. Some guests come from cold climates and find your heat a concern. Cooler folks can dress up but hotter can’t dress down….the driver never asked at anytime to see if we were comfortable..we finally gave up our request. Having said that I would absolutely recommend this tour and only hope they consider our thoughts for future tours.

Katie was the tour guide and was absolutely amazing! Great guide, great personality, very funny and friendly. We played a game which made the trip that much more fun and Katie took pictures of us and sent us the link to download them. We saw a couple koalas and a wallaby. Stradbroke Island itself is very beautiful, unlike any Island I've ever been to, like something out of a movie. I went to Tangalooma Island 5 days prior and snorkeled by the ships and while it was great, this trip to Stradbroke with Katie as the guide was better and more fun.
