The Australia Zoo was completely fantastic!! The driver was absolutely amazing, he gave us tons of tips on what to do in the zoo, which came very handy and was very nice overall! You first get picked up in a van in once of the pick up points and then you are driven to another point where you get into the croc express coach to get driven to the zoo. The main show was absolutely breathtaking and is so worth watching! The other shows happening during the day (every 30 mins) were super informative and fun to watch. All the animals are so beautiful and pictures may be taken with tons of them for a price. As you get 6 hrs once you get to the zoo, my recommendation is to take it completely easy as you do get tired specially if its hot. I do believe 6 hours are bit much as my partner and i saw everything in around 4 hours and were trying to kill time in the last two hours. Do take some water, hats and comfy shoes as there are tons to walk. Also, if you are buying food or any gifts from the zoo make sure you have enough money in your card as there is no reception in most parts of the zoo, and therefore cant transfer money into your main account if you dont have any money on it.
The experience was amazing and would 100% do it again.

Wow! That's a comprehensive review. Thank you Jules. We have created a brand new tour which is a half day at the zoo and a half day with lunch at the Buderim Ginger Factory. I tried it out when we were first designing the tour and loved the second half of the day eating and shopping and doing the factory tour, learning about bees, etc. I think for families who need to take it slow, six hours is good but if you wanna cram everything you can into your day, the "Taste the Sunshine Coast Tour" is a great choice.

Bus was late on pick up, but we still had plenty of time at zoo. Fantastic experience at the zoo overall. Great variety of animals. Great offering of experiences with the animals. Presentation and engagement of various exhibits was great.

Zoos are places I generally avoid because I hate to see animals incarcerated in cages and artificial places just for the benefit of ticket payers.
But Australia Zoo is something else, it's more than an industry of tickets It's a temple for conservation of Australian wild life! Some quick points to highlight:
- Most of the animals are rescued and treated to be reintroduced in the wild if/when possible.
- Passionate, young and energetic staff that are extremely happy to work and handle the animals with love
- They have a 24h free wildlife hospital
- They not only exhibit the animals but also advocate for their habitats teaching our young ones to respect, protect and advocate for our planet.
- They don't have animals suffering in their cages: many zoos have sad looking penguins living in tiny cooled areas, but that is not the case here. All animals are suitable to the weather conditions and are not suffering with overly artificial spaces.
in fact, there is a lot of space for the animals.

This a review of the Croc Express Coach, not the Australia Zoo. The zoo was amazing. The coach was not. We got picked up near our hotel, which was nice. We then were transferred to the express coach at a local transit station. The 'guide', Bob, was not very friendly. He did offer some interesting facts about Brisbane on our way out of town, but really had no information on the Australia Zoo. On the return, he was outright rude to a young couple that just wanted reassurance that their hotel was on his list. I would recommend the zoo trip to anyone, but would suggest using a different bus company to get out there.

The zoo itself is amazing, but I would find another way to get there.

1. We received a message to confirm our hotel pickup, but the lady I spoke to barely spoke English.
2. Luckily I called again the morning of the tour and found out she had given us the wrong pick up time and they do not pick up at our hotel despite it being on the website. We had to make a 15 minute walk to a different hotel.
3. The driver did pick us up, but seemed like it was a complete inconvenience to him.
4. You miss about 2 hours of time at the zoo, because they drop you off after it opens and insist on picking you up an hour and 15 minutes before it closes, because they don't want to sit in Brisbane traffic is what the driver told us.

The one good part was the drive who actually drove us to the zoo was much more friendly than the one who picked up at the hotel and he gave us some great tips about visiting the zoo which were very helpful.

This trip is a must do for anyone going to Queensland. We were based in Brisbane and decided to do the Croc Express transfer so there were a number of hotel pick up points although our apartment wasn't listed so we chose the one closest to us. There was a delay in the coach picking us up, but it does say this on TripAdvisor that sometimes traffic can cause the bus to be delayed and obviously it's quite manic getting lots of tourists on the right bus. The only thing I was disappointed with was that the bus wasn't liveried up with the Croc Express sign like I've seen online. Would have loved Steve Irwin and a croc on our bus!! TBH we were picked up by a lovely big luxury coach but that only took us to the main bus depot 5 mins away then we had to alight and we were all sent to different coaches for different tours which were small 16 seater buses with very little leg room for us tall people (6ft and 6ft 5) and it's quite a long way to go to be squished up! The only other issue was the driver gave us a lovely commentary all the way there.. well I think it was lovely, but myself and my partner couldn't hear a thing as we were right at the back of the bus and I'm not sure if the AC or something else made it very difficult to hear but we just couldn't hear :( I'd recommend handing out earphones to passengers perhaps so we can all hear!! Aside from that we arrived at the zoo successfully and got straight in. It says you need approx 6-7 hours to explore this zoo and this is correct. In all honesty, we stayed 7 hours and could have stayed longer.. it's huge! Def do the crocoseum - the crocs are amazing, and go and see the Kangaroos and koalas (best place to hold a koala is Lone pine sanctuary!) but take your time getting around as there is so much to see. We def felt the spirit of Steve Irwin there and what a wonderful legacy he has left. I believe we missed Bindi's engagement there by just a couple of days! But this place is just wonderful and makes you realise just how much we have to work hard to protect these beautiful creatures!

Hi Naomi, we love working with Australia Zoo to present this tour. I'm sorry you didn't get the decorated Croc Express Coach but unless we get 20 people booked on we don't take the 40 seater... just to be kinder on the environment. I do wish you told the driver you couldn't hear. It may have been that he had to notch up the volume on the microphone! We want your comfortable, safe, entertained, thrilled and informed. Speak up next time, regards, Allison

So much to see and do here, last time we went the meercat exhibit had opened on the day. They were so cute, keepers answered out questions and were informative. The afican part is so good with giraffes, rhinos and more. Looks just like open plains for them.
The roaming lemurs are fun to watch and they around amongst the tourists.
Feeding times are great tomsee esp the crocs in the crocaseum. We have been many times and never seen an irwin once so dont count on it unless you can make a week in holidays or the birthdays which during the week is impossible for us.
Its a 2 day pass event, spread out ur visit over 2 days if you can.
Food and drink and souvenirs are ober priced but some goes towards animal upkeep.
A courtesy bus leaves from beerwah station to amd from the zoo.
It is a good day out but get there early as the car park when crowdd can be a bit of a hike to the entrance

This is my second visit here. The first I took my children and months later we returned with flowers and candles on the passing of STEVE. This time I Took the Grandsons and one of my daughters to Australia Zoo and what a wonderful day was had by three generations. The passion the staff have for the animals is so obvious. Steve would be so proud. There interaction with visitors outstanding
The grounds are immaculate.
The ability for young children to interact with so many animals made the day magical for all of us.
Food at the eatery was fresh and choices large.
The Crocasium show was very educational and the big screen was very emotional with clips of STEVE bringing back wonderful memories of what he stood for and wanted to achieve. Thanks to his family following his dream it is becoming a reality.

I cant say enough about this excursion! We were notified of pickup by Priscilla and she was on time, a great driver and very informative! She stopped at a couple places for pictures including the Steve Irwin Xway and the Glass Mountains! HIGHLY Recommend her!!!!
The zoo was great! Very clean and friendly! This is by far the best zoo I have ever been to! You can see the animals are very well taken care of. We were able to go to the wildlife hospital and have a look around. We were at the zoo about 5 hours and I did get so see everything and play with the kangaroos and hold a koala, see the Croc show and have lunch!
There is a train that takes you to areas of the zoo which was great for me with a bad knee / back. There are employees walking around with snakes and birds etc... Just Awesome!!!
I cant recommend this excursion enough!!! So worth the Money!!!! Australians do not tip, so no need to... I tried but was told NO.
Thank you so much for making my birthday so special!!!

The zoo was amazing. Several different types of animals on display, and they are in much larger enclosures than you find in your typical zoo. We also purchased a wombat walk once we arrived, which was worth every penny.

The ride from the city is a bit long, but the driver provides great commentary along the way, which helps to pass the time.
