About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Marlisar B0 contributionsA Great Day out seeing Top End CrocsA great 1 hr cruise. Tour guides were great. Both gave some informative information about the crocs. We seen a few crocs on the cruise. The largest just over 5 metres. Great that all profits went to indigenous communities.Written 18 January 2024
- Karen M0 contributionsFantastic experience.Fantastic cruise with a super knowledgeable skipper/host. We saw a number of crocs and had some great jumps and viewing for both sides of the boat. Our 9 year old loved it and it was amazing to see the crocs up close.Written 1 December 2023
- Trek4life3000 contributionsNot worth the $150 for a family for a small jump from one croc.Overrated and overpriced for what was provided. We saw about 3 crocodiles and only one jumped on the opposite side of boat to where we were seated. Mediocre commentary.Written 6 November 2023
- elizabethbQ364CU0 contributionsCroc jumpingRecommend anyone to come and see this, everyone very friendly and informative, no matter where you sit you will see a croc jump out, ( if the crocs want to that is) guides are very fair and turn boat around so both side get a chance to see equally. Had a great time, Thank you!Written 5 October 2023
- Sophia M0 contributionsSpectacular Jumping CrocodilesThis was an amazing little tour to go on, if you’re a tourist and haven’t seen a crocodile up close before then this will truly blow your mind - the guides are very educated but keep everything light engaging and fun - the crocs are awesome!Written 28 September 2023

Great cruise. Pleasant on the water. Saw 3 cross, 2 of which "jumped" for us. Also watched the Kites swooping and catching food. Was an extra bonus. Everyone was friendly and we had a great morning. Recommend this morning adventure.Written 17 November 2022

- masolomon10 contributionsUp close and personal with the SaltiesThe Adelaide River is a stunning environment and offered us a chance to get up close to the Saltwater Crocs the area is famous for. Our guide was very knowledgeable about all things to do with crocs and presented lots of interesting information along with a touch of humour. The crocs were offered little parcels of meat and with a bit of encouragement jumped in order to get their reward, which made for excellent photos. All up it was an enjoyable way to spend an hour in a beautiful part of the world.Written 13 June 2022
- RobynS2390 contributionsDisappointedWe booked to do the cruise on Adelaide River. They must have overbooked as there wasn’t really enough room for us to sit comfortably. One little girl (8yrs)had to sit on her Dad’s knee the whole time. My friend (elderly) had half his bum on the bench seat so was quite uncomfortable. We only saw 3 crocs and by the time he fed on one side then got to us on the other side the croc didn’t seem interested in eating. I am a local but was disappointed in the cruiseWritten 12 June 2022

- 44patrice0 contributionsWOW!!WOW, what an experience! We travelled up the Adelaide River to find the crocs. We encounter many crocs, but only 3 of them were encouraged to jump. Be aware that there are a number of cruises every day & different crocs are encouraged to jump in different parts of the river on each tour. And JUMP they did!Written 7 June 2022
- deece440 contributionsFabulous trip …. Highly recommended!Organisation by AAT KIngs was great. Picked up from the hotel on time. The tour guide/coach driver (Macca) had excellent knowledge of the local area, it’s history and that of the wildlife on Adelaide river (which made the half day trip really interesting and greatly entertaining!) Thanks Macca for saving me from the snake 🙏🏻🙏🏻 …. You really saved my bacon 🫣 …. The cruise was awesome! The tour guide/boat driver and his off sider made the trip fun. I can’t believe how many crocs we saw and how high they can jump out of the water!! I highly recommend this tour. You won’t be disappointed.Written 6 June 2022

28 seasoned tour members thoroughly enjoyed their time afloat on the Adelaide River. An excellent 60 minutes, spent with wild but pampered crocs who do exactly as promised. Leap for their food. An informative commentary topped off the experience along with the kites (birds) swooping for food on cue.

We had a great tour with Captain Dylan today. He was very entertaining and informative. He knows where all the crocs live and gave us some interesting information about their resident estuarine Crocodiles. The tour was very reasonably priced and the small tour group size was great. Highly recommend this tour.

We got exactly what we came for. Came across 5 crocs in total including a new one they hadn't seen before. As per the photos you get to see them right up close as they come in and jump to take the bait. An added bonus is they also attract kites (birds of prey) up to the boat who fly around theboat to catch treats. Entry fee proceeds support local aboriginal communities and this cruise is indigenous owned. Worth supporting over others I think. TIP - checkout groupon first as they had discounted tickets available.

There is absolutely nothing spectacular about this cruise!
I have been to the Adelaide River Jumping Crocs tour a couple of months ago and it was absolutely amazing but my friends booked this time and I’m so embarrassed I even let them go here.
We saw 2 crocodiles in the whole hour, and I understand they cannot control the crocs or what they do but in comparison to the other cruise which is 5 minutes up the river which I saw 20/25 crocs.
They spent all the cruise driving up the river and not stopping for other crocs that were visibly in the river.
Guide was too busy promoting his own business and talking about politics than showing us what we paid $55 dollars each for which is literally to see the crocodiles?
So so so disappointed especially after seeing what an actual good cruise is so I don’t think there’s any excuses other than the fact they’re just scamming people and wasting time by driving up and down the river.
I couldn’t imagine being a tourist coming over from somewhere else and seeing this and thinking it’s a good tour when they don’t know what they’re actually missing.
Would not recommend to absolutely anyone when there is a family run business down the road which is cheaper and 100x better.

The no longer Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruise has been Disneyfied!
Appears to be a victim of money grabbing.
For the record this was the 4th time we had taken Interstate visitors on this cruise. We were so disappointed that we took them to Crocodylys Park for a better experience the following day. We apologised to our guests for the dismal but expensive experience.
What used to be a 2 hour Crocodile tour in a small but safe craft is now a 1 hour glorified Water Bus River cruise. 1/2 hour up and 1/2 hour back.
They have managed to reduce to tour in 1/2 but increased the passenger load x two. The tour guides would go well in Disneyland. It really wasn't authentic! No Brutus, no large males. We did see 3 small shy females though.
Will not be doing it again!

Hi Glenn,
It's very apparent that we are not the jumping crocodile company you have visited before, as none of your assertions about our previous operations are true to our business.
- We have never had Brutus in our section of the river, nor have we ever claimed to. Brutus is in another company's territory approximately 16km upriver from us.
- We have never offered a 2-hour cruise option, and to my knowledge neither have any of the other companies in our area, outside of specialty cruises.
- We have operated the larger vessel that you travelled on for the 5 past years. That vessel is the same length as the 'smaller' boats in operation on the river, as they all fall just under the maximum length to operate on a near coastal waters coxswains permit. Our larger boat however has a higher seating capacity due to the custom-designed seating to maximise customer viewing and experience.
- Our staff strive to present a professionally guided experience, rather than the stereotypical 'bogan' thrill ride that other companies may offer. We recognise that some may find this not to their liking, however, it is the experience that we present across all of our platforms and booking information. The particular guide you seem to be taking issue with is an experienced tour guide with both Kakadu and Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park accreditation, with experience in Nitmiluk NP as well. She strives to present a well-researched and professional tour, one that as a company we are extremely proud of.
Ultimately, I am disappointed to hear that you were not satisfied with your experience, and for that, we apologize. I would suggest that in future rather than applying false assumptions to our business, you make sure that you are booking with the correct company that you intended to.

Unfortunately the fellow who drove our boat and gave the tour was fairly unbearable. He never said anything rude to us but he was quite rude to several passenger including one lady who was travelling alone because she stood up from the back row for a moment because she was excited. It seemed as if the passengers were an annoyance to him rather than people he hoped to welcome and educate. I'm not sure of his name but he was a middle aged caucasian man. I hope this gets back to him or his employers because his behaviour was very distasteful. I was glad when it ended because of him. This was the last day of our holiday and it left us with a bitter taste.
I understand the variability associated with working with wild animals but our tour featured 3 smaller crocodiles that weren't very interested in the baits of offer. I've read others had better experiences, but for us, both on our own and on tours, Kakadu was much better for crocodile viewing.
The kite feeding was cool to watch and was the best part of the tour.

Crew were wonderful. I’m sorry I can’t remember the skippers name but he was very knowledgeable about crocodiles and had us laughing at a lot of his jokes. We had the opportunity to see two female crocs - the others just did not want to play but you get that with wild animals and I think a lot of people don’t understand that. What we saw and experienced was great. It was a bonus to see the kites at the end catching their treats. All up, thoroughly recommend this tour company. We picked it as it is indigenous owned and glad the profits are going back into helping the communities on Groot Island

Highly recommend this tour. Booking for our group of seven was very easy to do. We waited all of a few minutes of being onboard to see our first two crocodiles. Up close they are amazing. The two staff were funny and knowledgeable and answered the many yet varied questions from the crowd. It was great value for the money and it was closer to 1.5hours on the river, allowing us to see several crocodiles and some flying friends as well.

Arrived for a 9am departure and We’re told they had no skipper as no one turned up. Waited around 20 minutes to finally board and left around 9.20am Cruised up the river, met Stumpy watched him get fed, took some photos then cruised up a little further to meet a second croc, then we’re told Unfortunately we have run out of time and had to head back. We were quite disappointed with this as they were already running late, so an hour cruise turned into around 40min cruise. We have previously visited the Adelaide river croc cruise and found it way better value for money! We had a group of 10 and all including kids were very dissapointed!!

Hi Sophie, We very much apologize for the delay on the morning of your cruise, it was simply a case of bad luck that of our three rostered skippers, two were ill with Covid and the third was running late due to personal family matters with his young child. We fully understand that even short delays can impact people’s schedules, so we do not take it lightly and sincerely apologize once again. I just wanted to address the misconception that your cruise was cut short however, as I have reviewed our security camera footage and boat logs for that morning. Your cruise departed at 9:18:51am, and returned to the jetty at 10:18:56am, fulfilling your scheduled hour long cruise. The time taken to return back up the river is always included as part of the hour, as it would require running longer, and thus a higher price, if not.
Thanks, Management.

The tour guide was humours, the crocs came up as expected and they are most certainly not shy to swim up to the boat. I was extremely impressed with how the tour operators turn the boat so each side of the boat gets to see the crocodiles and the opportunity to see them jump up and to take amazing pictures. Honestly it was more than affordable. We we’re running late and they waited for us with no complaints which many other tour guides will not do. So I’m extremely thankful for that.
